Shot exactly 35 minutes after Underneath the Veil, this place was our original destination and this view was exactly the view we were hoping for. At least for me that is. Easy to understand why upon seeing it I completely forgot to keep on nagging about why we didnt linger a bit more at the previous location.

It was a magical morning indeed; everything was perfectly still and silent, except for the water calmly running past us. We were lucky enough to find a spot were the river was shallow enough to allow us to set up right in the middle of it. Looking back I think this was the last totally perfect magical morning of our Easter vacation. Right after that my tonsillitis kicked in and I started swallowing hot coals which significantly diminished the pleasure of the days to follow. However, looking back I definitely wish I could go back and do it all over again... even the painful bit.

Solkan Bridge is a 220-metre long stone bridge over the river Soča near Nova Gorica in western Slovenia. With an arch span of 85 metres it is the second longest stone arch in the world and the longest stone arch among train bridges. It was built in the time of the Secession, between 1900 and 1906.

The single arched stone bridge of Kokkorou named after its sponsor dating back to the 1750's. It was a magical misty sunrise and I hope I managed to capture some of the magic with this photograph.

The title is of course from the Lord of the Rings and if only there was a dark rider crossing the bridge by the time I was taking the shot. Here is a question for you, if you imagine a horse crossing it which direction would it be going? Left to right or right to left?

Hey all my friends today i got my film back with the pictures from paris.
and im very happy about that, because i can show you something new
its always very hard for me to take street pictures because there are so many expressions which i perceive
and i cant filter them out to a good picture
but i think this one came out pretty well so i would be very thankful if you could write me a critique
because street is something where i think that i can definitly improve my skills

Remember that part of Wizard of Oz where the whole movie has been in black and white; then after the house if picked up by the tornado and taken into Oz Dorothy opens up the door and everything is bright and colorful. That scene always had a profound impact on me for some reason. Because I can't do it in a video; taking a photo to try and capture the same feeling is as close as I can get. Hope you enjoy!

A shot from my visit to London. I would like to thank my friend Rameez for lending me his ND1000. The results are simply amazing and I will be investing in one straight away. The building in the distance in the middle is Big Ben if you didn't know allready. I really liked taking and processing this image and I think it works really well in black and white.

I went back to the bridge. There was a thick fog. Although I calculated an exposure time of 256 seconds, I decided during the shot to double the exposure time since it was getting darker relatively fast. It turned out well.

I saw a Michael Kenna video very recently in which you could see the master at work in Japan, shooting his famous trees in the snow. And Michael Kenna hugged the tree just to get connected with the tree. So I've decided to give this bridge a big hug. I don't know if he likes me now, but I love this bridge anyway...

Bogdan Khmelnitsky bridge was built in 2001 on the bases of Krasnoluzhsky rail bridge constructed in 1907.

The original Nicholas II bridge and its twin, Sergievsky bridge (now known as Andreyevsky bridge) were built in 1903–1907. They carried two tracks of Moscow inner ring railroad across Luzhniki bend. Both were designed as suspended-deck bridges by Lavr Proskuryakov (structural engineering) and Alexander Pomerantsev (architectural design). Proskuryakov's work, considered a marvel of engineering, was proven by the 1908 flood: water level exceeded the maximum design specification by a meter and a half; the bridges stood unharmed. After the February Revolution of 1917, the tzarist title was replaced with a politically correct Krasnoluzhsky, literally Red Meadows.

In 1990's the Third Ring road was built in Moscow, parallel to existing railway tracks. New Krasnoluzhsky road bridge was constructed in 1997-1998. Instead of scrapping the old steel arch, city planners re-used it as a structural core of the new pedestrian bridge, half a mile upstream. So Krasnoluzhsky bridge was moved to a new place, rebuilt and named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, hetman of Ukraine (1595-1657).

I nabbed this sucker on the way home from work today. I saw it going on in my rear view mirror and had to take a pic. I pulled over to the "emergency parking only" pad that is like 25'x15'; all during rush hour traffic. Probably not the safest move I have ever done but I dig the pic so it was worth it to me I hope you guys like it too.
