And here we have something completely different!

These are some of the collaborations I did with my friend, *sophiecabra earlier this month while she was visiting! She drew them, and I painted them. They are done in acrylic on wood, and you can see the actual scans of the pictures in Sophie's gallery, right here.

The auctions end Sunday, and it's fairly unlikely we will have any others for sale online.

These paintings were a lot of fun to work on between larger projects, mostly because they presented different artistic challenges. I really love to paint in graphical styles, and rarely get the opportunity to do so. Not to say that I don't like painting realistically rendered fur, or loosing myself in the detail of a piece, but it's nice to have a brief change of pace now and then. It keeps the artistic muscles limbered up!

Anyhow! I am back to work on comics! Specifically, a short adult one about a coyote and a horse for Heat Vol. 10, which will be out later this year.

Apple iPod Advertisement

Okay, so this is a REALLY LATE submission of part one of my Digital Photography
final from last quarter. I've had a rather busy quarter (that just ended so I'm on
Spring Break right now!) and was unable to post this until now. Better late than
never, right? Be watching for more submissions from me over the next week!

Our final project for photography class was to make two advertisements using our own
photos. The first had to be a stand-alone image that presented a product without the aid of text.
The second had to be a photo of a different product that was enhanced with text or a slogan.
We had to use our camera's manual settings and could only do minor edits in Photoshop as well
as color and contrast adjustments. It had to be a photograph, not a photomanipulation, lol.

This is obviously the ad without text. It's for Apple's iPod and the shot itself was
taken in my backyard. I really did stick my earphones into that apple! I wrapped
the end of it with masking tape so that I could protect it somewhat and they still work!
I also physically carved Apple's logo into the side of that granny smith with a box cutter,
it was intense. I had to do the shoot really fast so that the logo didn't turn brown, lol.
I turned on the macro setting so that I could pick up all the detail in the grass, apple,
and ear buds. You have no idea how many times I rearranged the cords to get the look
I wanted, I was acting like a crazy person. It was starting to rain by the end of the shoot
and thankfully I had a lot of good photos. I liked the vertical orientation and the way
the cords balanced the composition, plus the exposure was juuust right in this shot.
I think I used a very light flash on this but the rest is the diffused overcast skylight that day.

Overall, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Photography isn't my passion and I'm not that
gifted with it, but I'm just happy that I was able to achieve what I had originally set out to do, especially
considering the fact that I don't own a high-end SLR. My little camera does the best it can, lol.

PS: I'm aware that this concept has been executed before. Just search here on deviantART and
you'll find a lot of these photos. What I liked about the idea was that it clearly communicated what
the ad was for without explicitly stating it. I wanted it to be immediately recognizable.

Bloodspill is coming!

Im working with Gensen on the prototype right now. here is an early shot. We have some more changes to make, and then I'm sending over the Pantone colors to get her painted. I will be posting those photos when I get them.

She will be on sale in May probably, along with the second edition Swiftkill. There will only be about 100 second edition Swiftkills and they will have slightly different colors and will not be numbered.

Omg.... why do you always have to feel like a criminal at the customs???? Gah!

Anyways, I got those today and they are here and they are pretty and awesome and... oh see yourself.

They have a cute little flap in different colors where you can put your keychains (add cute!) and the inside color differs depending on the outside motive. The surface is sturdy rough cotton and should last till hll freezes over.

I actually won't be able to make a beter shot before we leave for the SPIEL in Essen but... Kiri, Monique (who were so kind and traded help for food and kitten entertainment) and me have been busy at the week-end and make pocket mirrors, buttons and magnets (not on the pic...).

You should click on download to see all motives but as I said: will upload a proper overview when I'm back from Essen.

The prices are fixed. Buttons 1 Euro, magnets will come for 1.5 and mirrors for 3. There'll be reasonable % for bulk orders of buttons but I'll fiddle with details on the long way to Essen (6 hours should definitely be enough time to think everything through.. duh). The main goal is: you get more for your money and I won't stumble over buttons in my studio room anymore.

Regarding the pencil cases:
I expect the delivery around the 26th! I'll post the overview about the available amount per motive when I'm back. It's mostly around 5-7 pieces, so if you want to get one together with your postcard set or mugs I suggest reservation per note. All notes dropped beforehand will have priority. And yes, the alpaca cherry motive IS ordered.

You have no idea how the flat looks at the moment. I feel warped into a different universe with tons of packages, mugs and staples of stuff blocking my ways and working area. O_____o

Across Thin Ice, the Book

It's a pretty great feeling to finish a large project, in a kind of abstract and liberating way. It's an entirely different and equally wonderful feeling to finally be holding the physical final product in your hands. :]

The fellows at Sofawolf Press were kind enough to overnight us a soft and hardcover copy of Across Thin Ice, soon as they received them from the printer. They turned out great! The paper is high quality, the colors are nice, they are heavy, and smell like new stickers. The hardcover is especially meaty and I think I could fend off a hungry bear by using it as a club. Not that I intend to, but, you never know.

The "world map" on the interior of the hardcover books looks especially swanky. ;]

I've got a few more photos of the book over on the Nordguard Livejournal and on Blogspot, for the curious! :]

So this one was taken in my sink. We cut a bunch of small holes in the can so the water would seep out everywhere and ran the faucet over it. I know this one is not as cool as the one done in half but I am trying to get some variety. I want to make a series so I will have a bunch of different shots. I also plan to put colored water into them too.

This took us a lot more work than we were expecting to. The hair was just sooooo heavy we tried different methods to make the back part stay in a ponytail. It was fun though!

Here is the first design (#1) of "The Seer" support t-shirt. The first design contains the logos, without any actual credits, simply because I was really excited just to see how the most important part would turn out.
And, here is also the second design (#2) of "The Seer" support t-shirt. The second design DOES contain the credits, in URL format, for and ! The second design logos are in gold, which is the original design idea. The gold actually has some of the sparkles added in from the original design, but the white logo in the first design looks cleaner, and it is very clearly shown on the shirt when I finally got it in the mail.

Forgot my camera, so you get a phone picture of my table at the con...and part of one of the co-owners of GXE behind it.

Probably should have taken it on the first day instead of the last; it's a bit beat up at this point. I'll be investing in a vinyl banner at some point, and a better table cloth. lol I threw that one together last minute and used industrial glue to hold it together since I can't sew. >.< The way the stuff is being displayed will be different, too, since this was a bit awkward.

Feeling better today so I'll be cleaning up and putting stuff away. I'd like to stream tonight but I'm not promising anything.

I'll be going to a couple more conventions this year (I hope!) plus some art shows.

Embarrassing brony stories #97: I picked up the princess sets and took them to the checkout. They wouldn't scan. The cashier asked her manager over to help. They wouldn't scan for her either. She then broadcast to the store via intercom: "Price check on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic".
In the end, I got one of the sets half-price. And for a white Celestia and a Luna? Totally worth it!

These are also part of the Crystal Empire sets. You should be able to see that the reflections in their eyes are polygonal instead of round. You can also see some sparkly bits in their manes. I'm thinking that "Crystal Empire" is just an excuse to put a pink princess pony (i.e. Cadance) on the front of the box. They used exactly the same stock image for Royal Wedding sets. The only difference is the addition of three sparkles.
I am however at a loss as to why Pinkie comes with Celestia and alone, but Applejack apparently doesn't exist at all.

I raided my old house and decided to past down some of my old memories to you guys. It's mostly video cassettes and will require a VCR to play them. These are classic Disney stuff as well as stuff for young children.

The prices are labeled directly on the photo. Just in case it's not clear enough, I'll break it down for you guys

The top rack consists of items I would consider more niche and would likely have a higher price tag to go with them (compared to Disney videos in which EVERYONE owns). Swan Princess has some sentimental value and I prefer to sell them as a set of three for $20 (I found all of them excellent animations, especially the first one). For Land Before Time, well... how can you go wrong with dinosaurs. We lost the first (and best) video of Land Before time, so only #2 through 5 are available. Unlike Swan Princess, you don't have to purchase all of the Land Before Times.
The 2nd shelf and part of the 3rd shelf is full of old Disney Classics (with the exception of Belle's Tales of Friendship). If you don't already own or at least seen these, well shame on you. No worries however, now you can purchase them from me for $4 each. Old Yeller will punch you in the feels. As will The Fox and the Hound.
3rd shelf (talking about the non Disney bits) is misc animation gems of the 90's (+ Free Willy and Dennis the Menace). If you care, The Pebble and the Penguin and Thumbelina are Don Bluth's works and We're Back! is Steven Spielberg's. Excellent pieces of animation here!
The last shelf is full of stuff geared towards young kids (except Halloween Tree, Pocahontas, Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan, and Lassie in The Painted Hills, these can be for general audiences).
The conditions of the large VHS boxes range from "usable" to "alright". Many of the Disney Classics still have their grey Walt Disney sticker seal on the box (but heavily aged)
All purchases is as-is. All of the VHSs not in the kiddy shelf worked the last time I viewed them (which unfortunately could be anywhere from 10 to 20 years ago).
Due to how cheap I'm selling these (the MAJORITY of them have been purchased at $19.99+ California tax), they won't qualify for free gifts.

Okay this is something different. I am LOOKING to buy or trade for a plush based on this Dolphin. It's from San-X's Sea Paradise line. I found a Sanrio place 15 miles away from where I am and was excited until I saw that it's an (expensive) pencil case

I prefer a large plush, but any of the smaller plush will do. IT HAS TO ACTUALLY BE A PLUSH. I prefer the blue dolphin, but if the pink one is all that is available, I can go for that too. These are commonly sold in Japanese gift stores/Sanrio stores.

I also buy any solo merch of the blue hedgehog that always accompanies his duck master (also manufactured by San-X). Since the blue hedgehog merch by himself is rare (I only own the small plush and the medium sized plush of the hedgehog), I am willing to pay a little higher for solo blue hedgehog merch. This kind of request is on par with a random person asking for merch of the hamster/mouse that accompanies Hello Kitty lol

Mass Effect 2 begins in 2183, shortly after Mass Effect. On patrol to locate and destroy any remaining geth, the Normandy and its commanding officer, Commander Shepard, are attacked. The crew is forced to evacuate. Joker, the helmsman, continues piloting the ship and is rescued by Shepard. Before Shepard can board the escape pod, Shepard is sent flying and debris slices through his/her suit as the Normandy is attacked again. Shepard dies from asphyxiation and his/her body enters a nearby planet's atmosphere.

Shepard's body is retrieved by Cerberus, an extremist pro-human organization. Over the course of two years, attempts are made to bring Shepard back to life via the Lazarus Project. Shepard awakens in 2185 aboard a Cerberus space station that is under attack. After Shepard aids Cerberus agents Jacob Taylor and Miranda Lawson, Shepard is granted an audience with the Illusive Man, who explains that Shepard was revived and 'upgraded' in return for his/her aid combating a new threat. Human colonies have been attacked, and their colonists have gone missing. The Illusive Man believes this is the work of Shepard's old enemies, the Reapers, a race of mechanical dreadnoughts that periodically harvest the galaxy once galactic civilization reaches a certain point.

Shepard and his/her team investigate a recently attacked colony and encounter Tali, one of Shepard's former squad members, and discover that the mysterious insect-like Collectors were behind the attack and are responsible for abductions at other human colonies. The Illusive Man places Shepard in command of the Normandy SR-2, modeled after the original. With the Illusive Man's guidance, Shepard recruits a team for what is assumed to be a suicide mission.

The Illusive Man provides Shepard with dossiers regarding potential recruits: a salarian scientist, a vigilante named Archangel, a krogan warlord, and a powerful but psychotic biotic. The salarian, Dr. Mordin Solus, is found on Omega, working to stop a plague engineered by vorcha who are working for the Collectors. Archangel is also on Omega, and is actually Garrus Vakarian, one of Shepard's previous squad members. The krogan warlord, Okeer, is found attempting to create the perfect krogan through unethical genetic research; when Okeer is killed he leaves his creation, Grunt, in Shepard's care. The biotic, Jack, revealed to be a woman, is also known as "Subject Zero." Cerberus arranges for her to be purchased from the prison holding her; Shepard travels to the prison ship, but is betrayed by the warden, who attempts to capture Shepard for a bounty. Shepard escapes and rescues Jack, who joins the team.

The Illusive Man reveals that a human colony is under Collector attack, and dispatches the team to save the colony. He notes that one of Shepard's surviving crew members, either Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Williams depending on who the player sacrificed on Virmire in the first game, is stationed at the colony. Shepard arrives with his/her team and battles the Collectors; a third of the colonists have already been taken away. Shepard reunites with his/her former ally, who leaves feeling betrayed by Shepard working for Cerberus.

Shepard is provided with dossiers on more potential recruits: an asari Justicar, a drell assassin, and Tali. The Justicar, Samara, joins the team after Shepard investigates the Eclipse mercenary group and its involvement in a murder. The drell assassin, Thane Krios is in the midst of an assassination mission. Learning of Thane's next target, Shepard finds Thane, who dispatches his target and joins the team. After she is rescued from an immense geth force, Tali joins Shepard.

The Illusive Man reveals that the Omega-4 relay - beyond which lies the Collector base - requires Reaper technology for the Normandy to safely navigate through it. Cerberus has located a derelict Reaper, disabled millions of years beforehand, and has sent a science team to recover the device - an IFF transponder. Shepard discovers that the Cerberus science team members have been killed. Battling his/her way through Husks, Shepard recovers the IFF and salvages a friendly geth before destroying the ship's core. Shepard may turn the geth over to Cerberus or activate it. If activated, the geth designates itself as Legion and joins the team.

Shepard departs with the recruited members on a shuttle towards their next mission as the Normandy prepares the IFF for testing. After the IFF is activated,it emits a tracking signal and the Collectors are able to locate and board the Normandy. Joker is forced to give control of the ship to its onboard A.I., named EDI - a potentially dangerous move. Gaining control of the ship, EDI pilots the Normandy away from the Collectors and rids the ship of all enemies, but the entire crew barring Joker is taken. Shepard's hand is forced - Shepard can either complete secondary missions and sacrifice his/her crew, or go through the Omega-4 relay to rescue the Normandy crew.

After traveling through the relay, the game may proceed in different ways. Depending on whether Shepard enters the Omega-4 relay quickly, has upgraded parts of the Normandy, and has earned the loyalty of team members, any combination of crew and team may survive the final mission, including Shepard himself/herself. Shepard fights his/her way to the core of the Collector space station and discovers the Collectors have been constructing a new Reaper, made from the genetic material of the abducted humans and fused with the advanced technology of the Reapers. EDI suggests this is how all Reapers reproduce. Shepard targets the weak points of the machine, which is in the early stages of construction, and it collapses.

The Illusive Man suggests the team keep the station intact to allow research on its technology, insisting that any garnered information will be valuable in the coming war against the Reapers. Shepard may choose to destroy the station or use a radiation pulse to kill the Collectors and allow Cerberus to take control of the station. After Shepard and his/her team destroy the Reaper, the surviving squad members escape to the Normandy. The Normandy undergoes repairs following the mission; Joker acquires schematics of a Reaper from the Collector General after he is released from Harbinger's control as a final act of defiance against the Reapers as the station is destroyed or eradicated of all life forms from a radiation charge. Harbinger and the rest of the Reapers awaken from hibernation and begin emerging from dark space and start their long journey towards the Milky Way, setting the stage for Mass Effect 3.

From the time ESPN motorsports announcer Jack Arute kicked off the festivities to the moment Bob Lutz drove the Camaro concept onto the stage, it was a Camaro lovefest from beginning to end. It started with a parade of the most legendary first-generation Camaros GM could assemble, from Mark Donahue's legendary Sunoco racecar to an original and very rare 1969 ZL-1 (Chevy made just 69 of them). And just to assure everybody that the new concept was in good hands, the last Camaro down the line was a '69 Super Sport owned by GM Vice President of Design Ed Welburn.

A couple interviews with Roger Penske and former Chevrolet general manager Jim Perkins later and the crowd was sufficiently soaked in the aura of GM's long since discontinued pony car. Jack Arute finally gave the signal to Bob Lutz who fired up the concept from a distant stage and drove the car in amid cheers and applause. With over 250 local Camaro club members in the crowd, the heightened amount of enthusiasm wasn't surprising.

But they had good reason to be excited. The new concept is more than just a modern version of the 1969 Camaro. It has very different proportions than the original. Although both are the same length, the concept car sits on a 2-inch-longer wheelbase and measures over 5 inches wider than the original. It's also slightly taller than a '69, despite its low roofline. No doubt some of that extra height comes from the 21-inch front wheels and tires and 22-inch rear meats.

Many of the shapes in the interior would be familiar to owners of classic Camaros. From the two big gauges behind the steering wheel to the auxiliary dials mounted down low on the console, there's plenty of heritage packed into its cabin.

GM's designers claim to have had more in mind than just the '69 Camaro when they drew the concept. They looked to the current Corvette for some inspiration as well as the angular YF-22 fighter jet. Their goal was to make the Camaro appeal to current fans while giving it a shape that would attract younger enthusiasts just the same.

Part of that appeal comes from a drivetrain that's more than just a big engine hooked to a four-speed. The Camaro's all-aluminum 6.0-liter V8, which is backed by a six-speed manual, not only makes 400 horsepower, its Active Fuel Management system can shut down cylinders for better mileage on the highway. And unlike every other Camaro before it, this concept features an independent rear suspension for superior handling dynamics.

What's Edmunds' Take?
It's all you could ask for when it comes to retro design rehashes. There's only one problem: Unlike the Challenger concept that looked ready for showrooms, this Camaro is nowhere near production spec and it might not look quite so tough when it is. Ed Hellwig

When I knew I'd be taking a trip to Teso. I told myself if they had Sweet 1600 I'd get anyone but Clawdeen (I generally don't like her outfits as much as the others. ) so low and behold they had everyone except Clawdeen. xD (Cupid is a Asda exclusive so I knew I wouldn't find her.)

Went across to Asda and spotted the Sisters pack in stock so thought I might aswell get them. I knew they didn't come with stands and that Howleen didn't have a proper diary (it's just her bio in different languages) but it's still disappointing. That said... how easy is the box to get into? I've never been able to get into the box so easily before. o.O All 4 boxes didn't have any celetape on them like usual and all slid out really easy.

Anyway... they are my new dolls xD

You guys voted that I should get a big white Celestia. So I got a big white Celestia. And she is beautiful! I unpacked her while in a conference call with work. Like a boss! I considered holding her up to the microphone and having her talk to it, but the microphone wasn't working.
The wing design is a bit off-putting and was almost the dealbreaker for not buying this. I think Celestia should have had the same design as Cadance.

Compared to the big pink Cadance, this Celestia however is a little disappointing. There are visible joins and dried glue everywhere (some of which is visible in the photo). Cadance doesn't have any of this. It's obviously the same mould. How can the final quality be so different?

Hasbro, I want a big blue Luna now. Same mould and design please. Preferably with a dress. And release her worldwide instead of US-only.

Tail Testing

Finally putting my tripod to use.

SO if you have read, i'm going to start making and selling tails quite possibly after youmacon, mid to late november. here's a little sample of some shots i'll be taking to show size comparison and what the tail looks like on the wearer when i start to sell the tails. this is taken in the old computer office which i am starting to take over as a studio to work in.

Keep in mind that I am only 5'1 1/2" so the height of the tail to the floor will vary [and i may get different models to pose for me if i get a commission for a longer tail]

The cheshire tail i'm wearing in this photo was not made by me it was made completely by my good friend *Digital-Vrykolakas

She's also accepting commissions as i've mentioned in my journal before. She made a disney-esque cheshire tail and put a picture of it up on her dA, I asked for a tim burton version of it and BOOM here it is. she works pretty quick and does a beautiful job. the fur on both my skunk tail nub and my cheshire cat are extremely soft and I am one satisfied commissioner.

Right now the room im going to be using is in the process of clean up and rearranging furnature but while i'm working on the costumes expect to see me trying on the ears and tails.

also might throw together a cheshire cosplay using this tail if i've got the right materials and time to throw an outfit together [along with making parts of 4 other cosplays. it may not happen before youmacon but it may happen soon]

Another 3 months, more games were bought, once again it feels like the more different titles I get, the less games there are I can find to buy, most of the games I bought recently were pretty cheap due to all the sales around the holidays, and there are more are more games bought for the newer systems.

Rock Band 2 Special Edition- new $110 already have the 360 Rock Band set, but this was too cheap to pass up, bought one for my friend as well, and returned the PS3 GH:World Tour set as soon as I could because those drums didn't work right
Folklore- $16 interesting game, tried it when the game first came out but haven't played it since
Metal Gear Solid 4- $20 not a MGS fan but it was cheap and the best PS3's got

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance- $9 disc only
The Legend of Zelda: CE- $10 with Twilight Princess case...
Mario Party 5- $10 need original case
Mario Party 6- $13
Mario Party 7- x2 $12 each, local store was getting rid of all Gamecube games, so I decided to pick these up
Mario Power Tennis- x2 $10 got this, Zelda, & 1 Mario Party 7 with a Gamecube for $50, got an extra game disc somehow, then traded in the system for $20, so $30 for all 3 games+extra copy
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes- x2 $11 each
Pokemon Channel- $8
Pokemon Colosseum- $12 not sure why I got these Pokemon games, they weren't cheap either...
Resident Evil 2- $10
Resident Evil 3 Nemesis- $10
Star Wars Jedi Outcast- $5 don't think these last 3 games were great ports or anything, but I been trying to get them for forever since they were short printed

Wii:
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World- $22
Trauma Center: Second Opinion- $8
Trauma Center: New Blood- $16
no Wii game is that hard to get so far, but I think I'd hold on to these along with some of the more unique games I never even opened like No More Heroes & Zack & Wiki. Just before the new year I also went through a crap load of other wii titles that made me enough games buying funds for a while

PSP:
Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception- $10 after selling for 30 bucks for 2+ years this game finally got cheaper
Generation of Chaos: Aedis Eclipse- $9
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology- $10
Wild Arms XF- $10
Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone- $13 love the extensive voice work Atlus added for this game & the PSP port of Riviera
lots of other lesser PSP games were also bought like: Pursue Force, Star Wars Battlefront, Valhalla Knights...

GBA:
Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone- had the game, finally found a complete box

DS:
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin- $8 half the price I paid for the first copy
Dragon Ball Origins- $11 nice little DB game with lots to offer
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen- $15 got to be better than DQM Joker
Etrian Odyssey- $11
Guitar Hero: On Tour- still the only one I have but a different set than before
Guitar Hero: on tour Decades- $13
Luminous Arc 2- no game right now, only case & cd, 2 Luminous Art artbooks(HA)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Series- had the first 2 games for a while, recently got Trials and Tribulations for $11
Professor Layton and the Curious Village- $8
Tetris DS- x2 $10 each, both without case
Trauma Center: Under the Knife- $11 was buying 2 but got the first game in the case, didn't bother to exchange it since the first one cost more
Yoshi's Island 2- $15

I really can't think of what other games I would want to buy later, and it's hard to imagine I'll buy so much stuff again, but it always seems to happen, so I'll wait and see.
