The same event, but from the 2000fps camera POV. I selected and edited together these frames myself, but if I were to post every frame, you'd be able to see every single millimetre of the crossbows journey.

That home camera you have that you thought had a "fast shutter speed" doesn't seem so fast now, does it? XD

We filled four balloons with a similar amount of water and hung them from custom-built scaffolding so they hung equally. We then shot them from close range using a small crossbow (shot by a licensed Pro. Please don't try this yourself, as owning and firing a crossbow in this country is illegal without a license).

We recorded the balloons, and also the boxes behind the balloons where the crossbow bolt eventually hit. I don't have the footage available, but an interesting thing to see was that when the bolt hit the compressed card and wood surface, a small ring of water exploded off it; remenants of what clung to the shaft from it's journey through the balloons!

Anyways, with the naked eye, you cannot see how water retains its shape for the brief moments before it breaks. As a liquid, the molecules of water do have a weak bond between one another which are easily broken. For a few brief miliseconds, with the use of camera technology, you can see the water still holding those bonds and retaining the shape of the now absent balloon.

May I say, I absolutely love HMS!! This dress is just quite stunning and due to its art deco inspiration, made me love it even more. The lovely [link] actually mentioned it on HMS's deviant art page! Now it definitely reminds me a bit of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I have to say, its quite a talent to transfer something like vintage art deco onto a latex piece, and Sophie of HMS did that flawlessly. On top of that, I adore the matching hat and gloves
I stole the double shot idea off of HMS too, I couldn't pick one single shot either!

Limecrime Makeup Ingredients:
Nymph all over my lid as a base and eyebrow bone as a highlight. On the inner corner of my eye and most of my lid I applied Fortune Teller. On the outer corner of my eye I applied Empress and blended it into Fortune Teller. I also applied Twilight on the outer corners of my eyes in a point on top of Empress. I used a gel liner to line my eyes, then I applied Black Magic on top. On the lower outer corner of my eye I applied some more Black Magic to get the smoky eye effect.

usually we break this shit up ... front-row and backstage ... or front-row ... backstage ... show ...

you almost never shoot all of it. one or two aspects.

well .. i'm stupid ... i did 'em all...

having an edit-staff helps, though.

imagine ... 70 friggin' photographers ... all packed in the media riser ...

and this in addition to electronic crews.

some are pros ... you know ... because you see them all over the place and you know their work ...

some ... are fucking tourists.

my spot on the media riser says, "Chris Weeks / All Shows / Fuck Off." Nonetheless some fucking neophyte will try and put his/her stuff down and take the spot.

well ... i'm in my fucking little square ... i move a foot to the left and some dipshit is trying to shoe horn in to which i say, "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

"dude, relax."

"no you fucking relax and get the fuck out of my spot."

he looks at me.

"take your toy-fucking-camera (he was holding a digital rebel and a five-six zoom on a 75mm lens) and leave."

he looks at me.

"what the fuck part didn't you understand?"

he tries to say something ...

and i cut him off, "did you get fucking lost? are you visiting santa monica and made a wrong turn to the pier?"

"please ... go back to wherever you came from and leave the shooting to the men."

he was using flash as well.

the little pop-up variety.

yes, i sound harsh but ... we have jobs to do ... and these people just want to take pictures of pretty girls...

we -- the people who have a legitimate reason for being there -- do as well ...

but ... the eyes of the world see our work.

and i had no idea my little friend martina from moscow had it in her to give erin a little spank.

Thrust me, it does. In our oh so poisining society, the media still manages to sell with anything and everything thourgh sex. Lucky for me, I'm blind, I shot my eyes to everything and wear my gaz mask to protect me from all this.

At least that's what I thought, apparently the gaz has leaking and my eyes are seeing light.

The same girl from my previous deviation, must say, the eye was a crop from this.
For all the people who could say it need more light: NO, I set my beauty dish exactly where I wanted. This is a high fashion-skin picture and the last thing I wanted was a BIG circular and distracting reflection on her eye! I must say that this image needs NO reflection on her eye, she is so perfect from hair to toe that her eye does not deserve anything disturbing in.
The same about a bounce-reflector... who needs an oval HORRIBLE shape into a perfect eye? BTW it had killed all the beautiful deep shadows made for the beauty-dish.
Believe me, I know what I do. That´s the reason I´m a PRO, because I know how to break the rules!

Here is the Singapore Polytechnic (SP) LIFEARTS booth that teaches both manga and Plamo to the students. They sure have lots of gundams and anime characters.

Here is one picture drawn and coloured by one of the senior students. I like the design and the faces. The posture and facial expression are my favourite. It is excellent work.

There is something so thrilling about seeing my masks being modeled and photographed by Beki Stilborn :: , especially for me as a mask-making artisan.

To me, my masks are just the things I love to make. A compulsion, a collage of ideas, a pretty concoction of colors and designs. I make them all the time, so I'm too close to them to be objective.

But when Beki picks a location, crafts her make up, chooses (or makes) her outfit, puts on my mask and creates one of these portraits...it becomes something different. The mask is ~alive~, suddenly. It has a soul, because the soul resides in the eyes and when there are eyes behind my mask, it's complete. Now it breathes. Now it sees. Now it has a heartbeat.

Other mask artists will know exactly what I am talking about. It's very exciting to see your art come alive like that.

We’ve themed this series of pictures around a Hans Christian Anderson story that’s full of female characters and great quotes. Can you guess which story it is?

it's amazing to me that 98% of the models are hot ...

yet ... many of them still have no idea or have a bit of an idea.

since it's day 4 when i shot this, everyone is kinda "over it" and hoping for a quick close to the day so the final day five can come and go as well.

so ... the makeup artist says, "doesn't she look hot?" antiseptically, i answered, "yeah, she's alright." this girl looks at me and was just like "really, just okay, like alright."

i was fucking with her because i wanted a look.

i think i got one.

Commission Work.

This is the first of many that will be submitted.

I took photos for them back in October when i first got my camera.

After seeing these i was RATHER unhappy with the last batch because i've progressed so much, but that does come with getting used to my camera and knowing it better.

This shot i absolutely loved. Yes they are small, but the fact that they are in line, walking away from the photo into a vast oblivion catches my eye. One of my favourites of many that I will be glad to share.

Buttons, Mirrors, Magnets

oh gawd.... I thought "hey, you should add numbers!" - I'll do that later and reupload WITH numbers (makes ordering so much easier).
My cam has huge problems with focus atm -grmph!pmsing camera sucks- but I think you can recognize all motives. The preivew is BIG, which hopefully helps.

That's the sorted buttons, mirrors and magnets. The yellow background for the magnets is a total pain in the eyes but the only metal surface I can actually move around.

I am still waiting to get the postcard books (should arrive on Friday) and the cases (should arrive next week) but I'll post the general overview later today with a complete overview of availability and prices... and %... oh yes, we all love the %, right?

The magnets are basically like buttons with a flat back and a neodym magnet protected by a foil. That way you can't scratch the surface which I first found really odd but those little suckers tend to stick to everything metal within nanoseconds. And yes.. square. The only reason I really wanted to have those. The amount is limited to 120 which sounds a lot but means I have only around 5 per motive.

The coins have started to come in! I'm so excited! Are you?
Coins are 2 inches in diameter, and approximately 3.5mm thick.
It's cast from brass and on this side is plated with a finite amount of 14kt gold.

There are no coins for me to sell right now. I'm expecting a batch soon, but I need to inventory them, and then I will put them up for sale. Keep an eye on my journal for news of it.

This isn't really submitted for the merit of the photography itself , but more for the "art" of the costume-making (aka. cosplay) seen in the photos.

This is a photo collage of me in my interpretation of "Tiger's-Eye" (villian from the anime, "Sailor Moon") -- in his "coat" outfit, that can be found in one of the official Sailor Moon art books. Costume fully put together/created by me and modeled by me.
