i had the relative of this idea like yesterday...tonight i was inspired to try it out but it ended up something quite different than what i'd planned (for once an impulse shot )....it just got a lot weirder and bloodier

no manip worth mentioning (unless u consider polishing my teeth worthy), it was overexposed, i added contrast, and a bit of my fav filter.

i have a tongue piercing, and i used fakeblood in the syringe. now how did i get that nasty thing through the hole in my tongue? i'm just really, really good...and maybe stupid...

i love the title, i've been wanting to use it for ages. sorry about the copyright mark, gotta have it nowdays in works like this

i most humbly wish that the audience enjoys this.

Hey, yes I know this has been done a hundred times before on dA, but I just wanted to give it a go and here is my interpretation of a well known concept.

Wow, thankyou one and all, I am totally overwhelmed by the response to this 5000, and 38,000 views in 36 hours!
I wanted to write a response to all your comments and favs but this is just unrealisetic to do individually so thankyou all for your kind words and support.

As I said in the original description, this concept is an old one, I have seen it in non-descript books before and with red filters. We were talking about lighting and depth of field in my photography course I have started so I thought what the heck and had a go at this. I was presently suprised and proud of the results so I put them on my humble gallery (490 PV and 9 watchers). Next morning I had 2,300 favs and this has since increased to where we are now so thankyou for the support. Personally I think the reason for its success was two fold, the lack of peoples knowledge of the concept (that a heart could be made from a circular object) and the interpretations people have drawn from it.

Comments include:
- Wow I didn't know that would happen
- I love how you have placed it next to heartless in the dictionary
- Omg, wow! That's oddly deep for something so simple...
- so boring. you've done nothing different here at all
- Makes me think of divorce, or infedelity...
- I thought it was a wedding band in a bible at first glance. Come to find out it's next to the definition of heartless. Seems like an appropriate photo to share with my ex-fiance
- I think it's beautiful but it also seems very sad to me. ;; Heartless...
- It's so simple but yet so complex. congratulations
- I like how the shadow of the ring forms the heart and the line on the book divides it. it's somewhat haunting.... it shows the feeling of loss and dissapointment of a break-up.
- The use of a ring, like a wedding ring is so thoughtful. You assume it's romantic until you read the book text, nice twist
- In terms of originality, your usage of the particular definitions is admirable, but misleading in terms of the composition; there is a HUGE juxtaoposition between the symbolic "endless love" that is represented by a ring, but, as I know...a ring is just a ring, not love.
- Ring representing the union of love and creating a heart next to the definition of hearltess gives me the impression that someone was dumped by someone they love and calling him or her hearless for doing it. It just makes me think of the conflicting feelings after a breakup that the two parties feel, one heartless and cold the other loving and betrayed. I think the owner of the ring was the one that was dumped and their ring shows how they still feel about the other person, but at the same time is bitter shown by looking up hearless to describe how they think the other person is. Very powerful!

A bit like Atlas methinks...

I kept messing it up and not aligning myself ( I was using tripod & self timer) and did it about 10 or so times. When I was happy with the result, I turned and saw that an old man walking his dog had stopped to watch my bizarre antics. He smiled and walked off. I must have looked completely mad because he was not in line with the cloud, so he would have seen my press my camera, run like a madman to the same spot 10 times and preform a melodramatic pray to god.

But he said nothing.

anyway...

A really difficult shot, not only for taking it, but also for the hard work behind it. I tried to organize a whole day to do this photoshoot, and i finally managed to do that!!! I had this idea in mind for ages right now! And i have to thank too many people, whose help was really precious.
First of all, thanks a lot to my boyfriend Luca, who helped me to develop the idea and to go around my house picking autumn braches and spring branches (the ones more difficult to find). it took some time to do that: obviously i picked one and only one little branch of each tree (im not a nature killer ). And another thanks to him and to Francesco: they did an excellent job creating the four seasons windows with all the branches, while me and the others were organizing the rest.

I stopped scheduling shoots with models because I'm sorta tired of dumb bitches, and I want to focus on my list off conceptual photos.

I have been meaning to do this one for over a year I suppose, back when I met Jonell and she had all these wonderful tattoos. She moved away though and I was sad that I wouldn't be able to get it done. She came back though, and she finally came over!

This is only one of the unique ones she has. I pictured her for a long time laying in bed in the morning, while someone was pretending to play her piano tattoo. I think it came out close to what I had in mind.

Anyhow, hope you like it.

What does this word «love» means? Love has been described as the greatest need humans have. From the cradle to the grave, people srtive after love, thrive in its warmth, even pine away and die for lack of it. Nonetheless,it is surpassingly difficult to define. Of course, people talk a lot about love. There is an endless stream of books, songs and poems about it. The results do not always clarify the meaning of love. If anything, the word is so overused that its true meaning seems ever more elusive.

i guess easter is about death though, jesus and that stuff so this is the opposite in a way but with some elements related to death (blood). what am i analyzing here, i just wanted to smile and make you smile and...you know.

Swans usually mate for life, so it's no wonder they always look so peacful and beautiful.

_{This is one of these pictures that makes me so happy I'm a photographer.

The two swans were very close to one another, swimming in the water, so I had little time to set and plan the shot.

I simply waited for the right second they got close enough and started snapping like crazy with my Sigma 70-200 F2.8 + Tele convertor*2.

I was very pleased with the resault.

I'm starting to build a collection of natural heart shape moment.

Nikon D80 + 50mm F1.8. The previous tenants of our house left an old piano. It's not tuned and some keys don't work but it looks pretty cool in my opinion The heart is a semi-transparent sticker. This is a special person in my life. His favorite color is green. His favorite sport is soccer, and his favorite music is found on the Guitar Hero games. Like a lot of kids, he goes to school, and his favorite subject is reading. He loves swimming, computer games, and eating. He likes to dress up as Spider Man for Halloween, and wishes he could be Spider Man in real life. He has his own likes, dislikes, talents, and quirks. He breathes air, his heart beats, his mind thinks, and he has feelings. Oh yeah, by the way, he has autism, but really hes just another human like you and me, and loves to be treated as one.

Not "talented" people always tend to complain about how untalented they are and that the others are so good, without even giving their best. And artists pretend that they didn't spend much time on their works, that everything is coming just by so. Not always to brag.. sometimes they don't realise how much work it was because they didn't notice how much time has passed.

Zach came to me with this idea and said the he had asked a couple photographers and they didn't want to do it. I am not sure why since I thought it was a pretty good idea and relevant to the times, so I told him to start getting it ready.

I think it came out well and is great that we were able to get the message across in a simple format and in one single image.

HOLY CRAP IT'S FINALLY FINISHED!

Okay here's how it was done. I grabbed a lightbulb and with the help of pliers and knives - I emptied it out. Then I took some gold wire out of my mom's box of jewelry stuff. I twisted it into the word love. The next issue was how the hell am I going to get it in. With the help of a chopstick and several moments later it was in. I adjusted it and tweaked it until I wash happy with it. (It is much harder then it seems.) I filled it up with water. Took a picture. Then processed it in Photoshop. Hm, looking back - I think I could have made the bulb a bit brighter.

The words were actually much smaller. The water made it look bigger.

This wasn't easy. Tis my pride and joy. & It's the first time I actually made one of my ideas a reality.

Pardon me; it is pretty late and I have been concentrating for many hours straight - so I think I've lost a bit of sanity.}
