HDR from one RAW file, actually several RAW files because I had to make the panorama out of 6 or 7 shots. That's the final edit I guess. I'm quite happy with the outcome.
In the middle you can actually not see the Carrick-a-rede ROPE BRIDGE which used to be only a rope between the coast and the small island. This was the every day route of fishermen to the small island where this picture was taken. Today you can find a modern rope bridge which is secured by hooks and bolts and stuff. Very safe now The bridge is hidden behind the last people you see on the pic.

It is another picture from my last year's trip to Scotland with ~I-Wizard and I like it very much.

The convertion to duotone was done in Photoshop and it is especially for the *RestlessPhotographer's Monochrome Contest.

I was told by a friend who travels often to Scotland that this tree had to be seen. It grows against a ruined church wall on a lonely road on the Isle of Skye. I love all trees, but she's one of my favorite.

Holy Island, cut off from the mainland for several hours each day, played a significant part in the development of Christianity in England. In 635 AD, the Irish evangelist, St Aidan, founded a monastic community that became one of the most important centres of Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England. Viking raids finally forced the monks to abandon the island in 875, but in 1082, St Cuthbert rebuilt the Priory, the remains of which can still be visited.

Lindisfarne Castle is a much more recent structure, built on an outcrop of rock known as Beblowe Crag, 1570-2. The Tudor fort was built to safeguard a harbour that sheltered English ships at war with Scotland. The accession of James VI of Scotland to the English throne in 1603 united the two kingdoms and Lindisfarne Castle lost its importance as a border fort. However a garrison remained at the castle until the late 19th century.
