This is, like, 3 months old, but still worth sharing. I posted this in my journal when I went to Video Games Live, and I kept telling myself I should post this but I never got around to it. So...here it is now. 3 months late. Because I was lazy.

It's me after the Video Games Live Concert, March 9th at the Nobb Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco, getting my picture taken with two of the best cosplayers in the world, and

And for those of you who didn't hear that yet, I got to sit two seats away from Miyamoto and Aonuma. It was a GREAT concert.

(BTW, the reason why the information on the side says that this was taken on the 10th was because it was after midnight.)

History of the World presented the French troupe «The Passengers» in 12 scenes - their heroes are dancing on the walls of buildings, at right angles to the foundation - amid projections and images. This is a spectacular show on a vertical surface, is a synthesis of different art forms - theater, dance, acrobatics, music, painting and video art.
«Les Passagers» - French street theater, whose spectacular shows are something between a circus and contemporary dance. The troupe was founded in 1988 by director Philip Ryu and actress Christine Bernard, and now employs 20 artists.

The original word for Japanese archery was kyujutsu (bow technique) which encompassed the skills and techniques of the warrior archer. Some of the ancient schools, known as ryu, survive today, along with the ancient ceremonies and games, but the days where the Japanese bow was used as a weapon are long past. I ran across an advertisement for a Kyudo tournament in the news. Thought I should go and check it out. It was quite an amazing event. Very peaceful and eloquent. The entrances of the students. The way they shuffled across the waxed floors. The fact that their shirts were so white that they could be in TV commercials (and caused problems for my light meter). The way they took their time with loading the arrows. The shooting. The silence.

Quite an amazing experience if you ask me.

THAT'S RIGHT, FOLKS!! I GOT A REAL LIVE TATTOO...AND IT HURT LIKE HELL!!!!! ^_^ I love it so much. 80 bucks well spent! Love love love love love!!! I was, at first, only getting it because it was something I thought was amazingly awesome from Naruto, but after I thought about it more, the signs seem to remind me of a three sided ying-yang trapped inside a wall, always together, yet never really touching, kinda like my Mother, my Sister, and myself~~~~

A really old photograph taken from Wai-con 2006! Hard to believe it has been this long already. I was flipping through some older material, and found this one and thought to myself "how could I have missed this?"

In 2006, Wai-con was my first convention. I didn't know of the talent pool involved with artists or cosplayers, but since then I have made some really great friends over time (and some characters.. lets not go there). Of course, back then I didn't have the DSLR brought back from the future by Sky-Net - I had a Pentax Optio!

When I got DOA2 game on PS2, I was hooked! When most people orgasmed over Tekken, this was my favorite game because of the fluidity, grappling and countering. Whatever happened from DOA3 onwards has become a mystery to me!

Jigoro Kano (1860-1938)
Style: Founder of Kodokan (modern) Judo
Meaning of the Style name: Judo = The Way of Flexibility

Jigoro Kano was born in October 28, 1860 in Kobe, Japan and
was the third son of a wealthy merchant family. In his younger
years, Jigoro Kano was very intelligent young man, but often sick
and was phisically in a weak state and was a constant target
of the schools bullies. Being tired of his own lack of immunity,
he began to strenghten his body by following an intensive
exercise programe. This included gymnastics, rowing, baseball
and hiking.

After two years of constant trainings, his health
was improved remarkably.In fact - he was in such a good shape,
that he started studying the style of Tenshin Shinyo-Ryu Ju-jutsu
under Master Hachinosuke Fukuda. As a jujutsu system the Tenshin
Shinyo ryu was noted for its striking techniques (ate-waza) and
katame-waza (grappling techniques).

Fukuda gave Jigoro Kano a heavy iron rod which Kano used to
practice bojitsu techniques (stick fighting). After very hard
workouts Kano massaged his aching body with a strong foul
smelling liniment which he prepared himself. The other students
in the dojo referred to him as "Kano the Odoriferous".
Fukuda died in 1880 at 52 years of age. Jigoro Kano, his student,
tried to keep his dojo open, but realized he needed more training.

At this time Ju-Jutsu (the art of limberness) had something of a bad
reputation within a Japan which was rapidly modernizing to
compete with an industrialized West. The loss of status among
disenfranchised bushi (samurai) forced many former members of the
warrior class to teach their arts to any and all who could pay for lessons.
A number of these were rough types looking to prey on the weak and
helpless, and thus Ju-Jutsu gained an undeserved reputation as a practice
of the lower sorts of society.

But Kano knew better than to neglect the techniques of Ju-Jutsu.
He studdied the arts and developed 1882 (after graduating in
the Tokyo Imperial University) a changed Ju-Jutsu which he
called Kodokan Judo. This was the birth of modern Judo.
Kano changed the name from Ju-Jutsu to Judo in order to
evade the fate which struck Ju-Jutsu (been seen as a martial arts
of the lowest kind of society).

Starting with just nine students on a twelve tatami (mat) area at the
Buddhist Eishoji Temple in the Shitaya area of Tokyo, the formal date
of the founding of the first Kodokan was June 1882.

Kano traveled the world spreading judo to many nations.
He visited the dojo of George Yoshida in New York City in 1920,
1936 and 1938. In 1924, Kano awarded a sandan to Henry Seishiro
Okazaki, the founder of Danzan-Ryu.

Kano died in May 4, 1938, at age seventy-eight, on the ship SS Hikawa Maru
which was on a return voyage from Cairo where he met with an Olympic
Committe. It was his dream to have judo in the Olympic games.

Judo's, which already was one of the most popular martial arts, debut
as a sport in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games
has further cemented its status as a truly international
endeavor.

The Eurovision Songcontest 2011 is in Germany!!!
Actually near to my hometown
Yesterday I saw the "Jury-Final" of the Songcontest and I must say it was sooo amazing *-*
I knew the Eurovision Songcontest since I was a little girl and I always wanted to see it live on stage. Now my dream came true
I took some pictures of the great studio and put them together. I haven't any favourites, but I hope the best for Lena. This evening I'll watch the final with a part of my family and I think it'll be fun. ^-^

Myself as Chun Li, the red alternate version. It's my first cosplay and first full outfit I have ever made O_O I won Best Amateur! Actually really didn't expect that! @_@

These photos were taken by my friends to which I have permission to upload
Unfortunately I didn't have any single separate victory pose "yatta" shots taken but there are quite a few floating around the internet, watermark free! lol
Maybe I'll dress up again and do some "professional" shots. And do the finishing touches I couldn't do before...

Chun Li is my favorite Street Fighter, and I always select her alternate version, hence why my cosplay is red rather than blue ^^

This is another incredible artist, Alvin Lee, who happens to work for Udon Studios which produces the best selling Streetfighter and Darkstalkers comics. Every year since Udon picked up the licensing for Streetfighter and the rest, they have come to Comic Con, every artist and writer from Alvin Lee to Joe Ng, and meeting them is a true pleasure. Alvin was a great guy and he happened to make an awesome sketch of my all time favorite Streetfighter, RYU! Yeah, so check it out when you get the chance.
