These roses are pure luxury! You should see them in reality, wow - this red is breathtaking! And the smell - to die for!!!

They grow in my neighbours garden, the whole garden is full of roses. I desaturated the background to bring out the amazing color of the petals. also the drops add to the whole composition.

No manip, the background is real, light is from the sun. Color variation ONLY slightly to green and blue. this is all. Nikon is an AWESOME camera and the photos pretty much don't need editing. I found the butterfly on the balcony. probably died of old age. I decided to keep him this way.

My all time favorite flower, it speaks to me in so many ways.
I am very pleased with how the Depth of field turned out here, working with shallow depth really made this special in my eyes.

_{The rainbow rose is a rose which has had its petals artificially coloured.

The colouring method exploits the rose's natural processes by which water is drawn up the stem. By splitting the stem and dipping each part in a differently coloured water, the colours are drawn into the petals resulting in a multicoloured rose.
The rainbow rose has been developed by a collaboration of two dutch companies, River Flowers and F.J. Zandbergen & Zn. Together they formed Happy Roses to produce and market rainbow roses.

River Flowers started as a cultivator of chrysanthemums. In 2004, they developed a method of adding colour to the petals of chrysanthemums and applied for a worldwide patent.

Zandbergen is a large company which specialises in everything to do with roses. When they happened to come into contact with River Flowers in 2006, the colouring process was tried on roses and found to be successful.}

Since these spider Lilies usually bloom near cemeteries around the autumnal equinox, they are described in Chinese and Japanese translations of the Lotus Sutra as ominous flowers that grow in 地獄(also known as Hell), and guide the dead into the next reincarnation.
A famous legend is of two elves: 曼珠, who guarded the flower, and 沙華 who guarded the leaves. Out of curiosity, they defied their fate of guarding the herb alone, and managed to meet each other. At first sight, they fell in love ♥ with each other. G.O.D, exasperated by their waywardness, separated the miserable couple, and laid a curse on them as a punishment: the flowers of 曼珠 shall never meet the leaves of 沙華 again.
It was said that when the couple met after death in hell , they vowed to meet each other after reincarnation. However, neither of them could keep their words. ♥

Some other legends have it that when a person sees someone that they may never meet again, these flowers, also called red spider lilies, would bloom along the path. Perhaps because of these sorrowful legends .
