since cosplay-season is almost done for this year [only Bookfair Frankfurt to go!], you may expect again more natural stuff again :"D

So far, only a few cosplayshoootings are planned [something in rain, snow and autumn with Kisa and soffel, kiriban for kuro and vegie,emotional kuroshitsuji-stuff and maybe steampunkness? XD], and I'll use winterbreak for doing projects [ some stuff for hetalia, steampunk and FF X Yuna].

Just as the title says, this is definitely a stargazer...the Stargazer Lily, that is! It is a Oriental Lily type. They can grow to be rather big...sometimes as much as 10 inches in diameter!

I love flowers. Just like butterlies, they bring a smile to my face every single time. That is one reason I love Spring and Summer so much...life comes back & Nature flourishes its finest.

Okay, now it is time for me to go do some artwork. It's time to work on my Steampunk (and also my Futuristic, Sci-Fi) characters. I will have more photos next week.

Infrared Garden Path

I wasn't sure where to put this here on Deviant Art. I make my steampunk Jewelry but I also do photography. This is an older photo - but still one of my favorites.
Its a digital Infrared Shot - IR photography is something I did in the days of shooting film - but I have an older Canon G6 that works very very well with an IR Hoya R72 filter. To take them with this camera they need to be shot in RAW. Newer versions of the G-series for some reason dropped RAW - though I think the might have chosen to bring it back. Still, the G-6 by canon remains one of my favorite cameras.

There is a surreal quality to colour IR photos. There is a bit of softness, but also the IR turns the foliage into snowy powder. Here I can imagine fairies and sprites and other creatures lurking just in the spaces beyond our vision.

As usual, I've been taking my camera when going for walkies! And the sorts of photos I come up with are actually quite interesting, this is the first one I have taken and edited in RAW - and I'm quite pleased with this result, I wanted to add a black frame but uh... I don't know how, so I'll learn, and when I have learnt I shall apply.

Tiger Tiger Burning Bright

What's with the title of this, especially since there is no tiger involved? Because these wonderful flowers are Tiger Lilies. There are many different types of Tiger Lilies. I know these flowers have nothing to do with the William Blake poem ("Tiger, tiger, burning bright, in the forests of the night") but honestly, that is the first thing that came to mind. (And if somebody does not think the title fitting...oh well.) :shrugs: ' Indeed, these Tiger Lilies are bright. There are so many different types of lilies blooming in the garden at the moment. It is "100 Days of Lilies"! I love this time of year.

As for my artwork...please wait just a little while longer. I have been very busy with things in life (a reason why I have been extremely slow to get back at comments, comment on art, etc.). I haven't had much time to draw. But I do hope you will like my new, upcoming artwork. (Mostly my Steampunk characters & I am trying to make my work a little bit more detailed.) I hope to have the new artwork up by the end of next week.

Would you consider this steampunk?
An old satellite dish, turned into a garden.
When I saw this in my cousin Rick's garden, I said
"What a great idea".
Then I started thinking about the times I'd been there previously.
Yep....I had seen the old dish in his backyard, and had suggested he do this.
Aren't I a clever little chappy?
Mind you, the excecution is all Rick, and he should be proud of how it turned out.
I must admit...I'm quite pleased with myself...that Rick acted on my idea means a great deal to me.
I admire these people, you see.
Valerie Hankinson (Check her stuff on Etsy) and Rick are both talented.
Their dad, my Uncle Hank, is incredibly talented, as was my Aunt Hylda.

I would also just like to mention my niece, Chelsea, while we're on the subject of talented artists in my family.

I'm proud to be spoken of in the same sentence with any of these folks.

As an artist, I believe being around them improves my work.
You don't get better at something surrounding yourself with people that have talent inferior to your own...or, at least..it's not as likely.

I've said on many occasions that I simply wouldn't call myself an artist had I not grown up knowing Uncle Hank. [link]

Whether or not that's a good thing...you can be the judge.

Baily died in the winter of 2009, my friends dog. She always had a seizures, ever since she was a puppy (so I'm told). A month before she died I had a dream that she collapsed in the yard suddenly and stopped moving. I told Leah, my friend, but we just wrote it off as a dream. But the exact thing happened. That was the first premonition I ever had. Recently we explored deep in the woods and found the 'grave' tribute we had carved for her all those years ago.
