The Mushroom

Whenever someone goes to pick mushrooms, I never pick them myself, since I don't find them tasty, but I still go and bring my camera . It's a lot fun trying to photograph these little things.

And it's a good thing too, since I can't tell apart edible and inedible mushrooms XD.

If someone can identify this toadstool, please do so in comments .

This world is full of the most amazing things. This tiny mushroom is only a couple of centimeters tall and hardly noticeable ...but when viewed through the lens and with the magical touch of golden sunlight in the background, the miniature scene takes on a life of its own.

small mushroom village, tiny mushrooms
As promised, one more photograph. Some mushrooms.
This shot was taken in Autumn 2003 between Clausthal and Buntenbock in the Harz-Mountains (germany).
Aren't they cute? As I found them I wondered if there are some fairies or smurfs hidden behind. There was something in the air that felt like magic.
I hope you like this shot as much as I do.
Perhaps someone can help me and tell me wich kind of mushroom it is?

Someone told me that it could be a sulphur tuft, also known as clustered woodlover.

'Mushroom'. It's a pretty random word, don't you think? The Dutch word is way cooler- hence the title.

Bah, it's really beginning to feel like Autumn/Winter now. Far, far, far too cold. And wet. And grey. Although there was a pretty spectacular sunset on Sunday, when this picture was taken.

Everytime I upload one this-weeks, I think a lot about what to write about it.
This time I have got a true story for you:
On August 17 I met =NikolasBrummer. I took the train (which drove for about 1 hour) and we went into his local woods.
We thought about a concept and made it finally. We also met half a year ago, and we took a picture of each other, but somehow it was meaningless, so we did not upload it anywhere.
The final picture is this one:
But I am not sure whether it is good to upload it into my own gallery, because Nikolas set up the scene, made the composition and the editing, etc. I was just the model for the hands, so the arms are mine.
This is why I uploaded this picture. This mushroom stood right beside our shooting location.
It's great to become real life friends over deviantART.
We met each other such a long time ago and talked to each other and so, and now we are real life friends making picnics and talking about so many photography-related themes.
It is inspiring to talk about the way we take pictures, because his style to take and edit pictures is almost the contrary to my methods. We both were stunned when we talked about it.
All in all, the meeting was awesome.

You will not be disappointed, I promise.

I found these mushrooms growing under my mom's peas tree this afternoon while I was studying. I am quite lucky to get it, since the battery was pretty much dead O.o

These are some funky looking fungi I found growing under a tree in the yard. They're called 'Bird Nest Fungi' I believe. Quite odd, but pretty at the same time!
