A photo from Banzai Con of my Amaimon cosplay. I was really excited to do Amaimon because I really like his character. It was even better to be able to do it with *Valdrein as Mephisto and *twinfools as Rin We even got a picture with a Yukio cosplayer at the con so we had all four brothers

Costume Information:
Coat is made out of fake leather then cut at the bottom for the torn edges. A gold fabric that won't fry was cut into shape then stitched on. The skulls are plastic ornaments that are sewn on. The gloves and leggings are made out of lycra. The shorts are twill and the yellow diamonds were painted on. The dress-shirt was purchased. The vest is cotton with a suede rope for the laces. The brown trimming is ribbon sewn on. The yellow tie was purchased then I hand-painted the darker yellow stripes.

While shooting our Big 4 CMV ([link] and I went to shoot some footage of Jack on the ice. While we were there he took some photos as well, and I really love how they turned out :3

Just got home from Anime Central! I worked hardcore for about a week on my Judal costume so I'd be able to be a part of a Magi group with my Missouri friends! XD (I moved to Chicago last Fall, so Acen is one of the rare opportunities we get to cosplay together). They're some of my best friends, so I'm really happy we all got to hang out on Friday! <3

My jewelry was a bit rushed, so I'm planning on re-making that part, but I'm super happy with my wig and the rest of the costume! I'll post costume and wig construction info when I get around to posting a solo photo. :3

German Shepherd Hat 2.0

Kay, you are seriously the bestest ever

*calgarycosplay was kind enough to re-create the famous german shepherd hat for me... and I was absolutely blown away. The superior quality of v2.0 is overwhelming. My original request back in 2009 was to see if she could use brown fleece to piece together all the markings and make them actually look like GSD ears and not something generic. It was a huge challenge but she happily took on the project. We decided to go with a painted version instead for simplicity and because the goal was to make it as realistic as possible we thought it could be better achieved that way. The original hat also had wires to help hold the unique ear shape and it became one of the most unique, lifelike fleece hats you'll ever see. In fact if you do a search for "german shepherd" on da, the hat is the top result!

Over the many years of the crazy amounts of use and loving wear, the original hat's markings have faded almost completely, the fleece showing its age, and most of the wires snapped. Yet despite this, the hat still looks and wears great and I get compliments everyday. I love that thing to death and it's become infamous- most people can't even imagine me without it on my head.

So I'm proud to once again introduce the amazing and talented Kay of CanadaCosplay for her beautiful custom work in the GSD hat 2.0! This one has sewn-in markings with a touch of painting around the edges, and an updated design unique to Kay's hats that requires no wires to hold up its shape with a lot of depth inside the ears. She created it shorter in the front and longer in the back with a forward tilt in the ears, so when you wear it the ears look natural and it hugs your whole head. Mine also includes a specialized small brim. The craftsmanship of her work has always impressed me, but she absolutely outdid herself this time... it's everything I could have ever hoped for and more- what an amazing improvement over the years!

If you haven't heard of Calgary/Canada Cosplay, you are severely missing out!!! Like asdfghjkl

So far there is literally really no evidence of the fact that I cosprayed Mako. I'll just drop this here -plonk- Cell phone pic <3

As for the costumes, I obviously created Mako's cannon outfit BUT I MUST STRESS I DID NOT DO THIS ALONE. Sometimes when it comes to patterns and fabrics I get confused, my Bolin, also known as *Admantius drafted a pattern for me that I used to create the entire outfit from then. No one helped me after that other than *Antiquity-Dreams to fix one of the shoulders so that it didn't look pinched because I was sewing three layers of fabric together just for one shoulder seam and it was frustrating me to the point of going cross eyed. Either way the costume came out great and I enjoyed wearing it despite all the people who teased me when I was in cosplay- which brings me to a specific point I had in mind.

There are still lots of things that I want to change or improve on with this John Lenn- I mean Simon Petrikov costume, but as a whole I'm super super happy and satisfied with how it turned out!

I had never made a prosthetic before, I'd never laid my own facial hair pieces, I'd never made a functioning backpack, spandex gloves, or dabbled in PAX paint, but I pushed myself to research and learn about all these things in order to get as accurate as I could with this costume! I also had to make the costume for our Little Marcy, and had a blast with that! Even if I was terrified of using such tiny patterns! x3

One unfortunate thing about this run-through was that I thought I'd lost my Science Parasite (the little pink fella in Simon's pocket), but no, he'd just fallen to the bottom of my garment bag and was found RIGHT as I was taking the costume off. XD Ooooh well! Slippery little buggars. On top of that, I had some really cool antique polaroids and video cameras that I wanted to use for poses with Chlo-Chlo (our Marcy), but our time in costume was absolutely chaotic, and we found ourselves nearly late to everything on account of the crowds and never wanting to upset anyone by turning down a photo request at Anime Matsuri (although we did have to apologize and hurry on past a few, SO SORRY IF WE DID THAT TO YOU).

But we ARE planning an on-location photoshoot (as well as more surprises!), so I'm really excited to fix my costume up for that.

This was taken at the gym in our hotel's lobby right before the convention opened this morning! I love wearing Leona so much! No only is she a bad ass character, but the costume is super comfortable. I can spend all day in it and even workout without breaking a sweat. I'm very proud that I've been keeping up with my workouts, some muscle definition is finally showing through and I'm begging to truly look like a fighter.

The uniform was made from scratch by me out of olive fatigue colored twill. I patterned out the front flap to actually fold back and be functional. All the arm patched were top stitched by hand. I'm very proud of the cleanliness of the outfit's seams I'm also so lucky I found the perfect pair of boots on ebay!

Magi - Closer to the sun

Hey there, guys ♥ as you can see i couldn't do Sin for Dokomi, BUT i could do Sharrkan instead ♥ we wore our Magi cosplays both days, because we couldn't finish anything else, but that was totally fine, we took a lot of pictures and i already have some to show ^_^hope you like it! And don't mind my shoe, i didn't noticed while taking the picture, that the straps got out of place. XD

After several months of working on the costume, I finally got to cosplay Lady Scheherazade from Magi: The Labryinth of Magic!
It was awesome to be able to cosplay my favourite Magi character, and I was so happy when others complimented me on my costume (*ﾉ▽ﾉ) Thanks guys!

Magi: Ren Kouen and Judal

On Sunday we wore Kouen and Judal again and we finally managed to get some few photos together. Still waiting for the real shooting, though. I hope we'll be able to have our awesome group this summer. That's when we will also get our nice photos~

I spent the day with and we did a small photoshoot for Ib (FINALLY)
I had so much fun with her and I am so glad I was able to finally get photos in this costume :3
I was having a hard time with the jacket and I messed up constantly but I FINALLY manned up and fixed the goddamn thing instead of crying all day, everyday.

Now about the photo:
Sorry for the coloring (we didn't have professional lights for this kind of crap, nor did we have good lighting).
The colors of the picture actually look different on my computer then they do on someone else's XD
