Chainmail and Leather

Just a random, portrait like snapshot of my Demon, sporting his leathers and chainmail.

I don't think I've put his chainmail on since he had his Volks body. I got it custom made fit for that bod and it was a little hard to get it over his Dollstown buffmanjoe arms. At least it fits though, because it'd suck if he couldn't wear it anymore since I designed it specifically for him and I'm not sure if the chick who made it for me is still doing commissions for dorrus...

Anyway, it fits so I don't have to worry on it. Yay. And so much lovers for him and his epic self wearing it =3

When I started dressing Eiji for this shoot, he was going to be in leather pants and a pinstripe shirt.

You can't really understand unless you're also crazy, but dolls have a mind of their own. When Eiji looks at you like he did today (because what else is he going to do when I make his eyes look forward) you just know he has plans. His plans today included a kimono and a pvc corset.

I was listening to Kagrra, and so that might have done something to influence me. So this whole shoot is Kagrra, inspiredddd.

Starting my Kagrra, tour for today is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Twenty To Midnight is a one of a kind tattooed doll, featuring a silver-plated, limited edition bronze casting of a hand carved Rococo wig sculpture. The wig is magnetic and removable, with one of a kind gemstone accents of 6 Pink Tourmalines and 2 Rubies.

The finished wig weighs only 119.1 grams, or 4.2 ounces and is relatively light compared to some of my other metal head ornaments, such a Sterling Snowflake crown or a Sterling Cathedral crown. I am immensely pleased with how it turned out, as I really didnt anticipate such a close fit to the contours of the head because of the shrinkage and inevitable warping of the model during molding and casting. The inside of the wig is lined with layers of soft leather to maximize the tightness of contact.

Something a little different....<< I don't plan to submit photos here...for various reasons. Mainly because I'm an amateur and a lot of my photos aren't spectacular.

BUT anyway.....I think this is sort of 'artistic' in a way. Or at least it took me a while to get him ready for pictures. Gackt is still waiting on his eyes, and clothes from LUTS. The 14 mm eyes i have are just too big for him! @_@ they look great on Ryu Jae...so I took two pics of Gackt one without the eyeballs..[creepy] but you can't tell that they are gone, and this half shot...which i don't know why....but i really love it.

I painted his face, cut and styled his hair....It's really spikey in the back like from the Vanilla PV...all he needs are some leather pants, and leather jacket...and i can take more pics again! Painting the dolls face is so difficult...so i know it's not very good...but i'm really trying my best to get better!! I hope you enjoy this!!

I wanted to do this long long time ago... I got everything ready even the ladle of his size. But then... I took a long long time to get this photo out from him. Sigh... the coordination was taxing, I had to ensure the ladle wouldn't slip and fall, his arm balance, camera lighting and most importantly was the correct pose of Sebastian holding a ladle!!! Whew~

Next, I attempted making a unique Kuro-logo to go with the picture and that took a while too. And just when I could finally call it done, I spotted my reflection at the ladle . So, spent some times to mask it off. T-T

You may wonder why he isn't wearing the usual butler glove. The reason is ... I need those fiction with his leather glove. Give up on his white cotton glove

An artsy sort of preview shot of Za'apphei modeling a set I'll have up for sale in the next week or so.

Sort of steampunk... ish in styling. It'll come with the skirt and detachable bustle, the blouse, the mitts and the leather corset with detachable harness straps and belt.

I actually really like how it looks on model!hair and horns Za'apphei *_* -too bad it's not anything anyone in Ish'talla would wear.

Well, except for the corset, I'm going to have to make one of those for her to keep because those things go with any world's style xD

All leather (where used) used on hilts and scabbards is genuine. The blades are made of 420J stainless steel. false edged (this means they have distinct edge, but the have been dulled down to make them less sharp)
However the tips are incredibly sharp!

Hello everyone,

How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are!: XD: Heh, I feel a little weird to be posting this deviation right here and right now of all places. Believe it or not, I'm currently at the Reagan National Airport, in Washington D.C. I have a flight in about an hour to visit my best friend in Buffalo, New York so that we can celebrate our joint birthday together! I'm definitely looking forward to hanging out for a few days!

But anyways, I always like to check in early in regards to flights and such, as I know that doing so can be problematic at times. But now that I have, I'm left with some time to myself so I figured that I'd make due with the free airport WiFi! And since I planned to post this image even before I left for my trip, I thought that I'd do so now!

This past Friday, I finally received my Yami Yugi Kotobuyika Figure, and I thought that I'd take some photographs of it in various angles so I could share it with all of you. It's rather an understatement to say that I was anxiously awaiting this item! Let me tell you! I pre-ordered it back in December when I first learned about it, and at long last, it came!

It's very VERY well made, for anyone who's interested in knowing! The detail is phenomenal, and it has a number of attachable and detachable parts to it, such as the duel disk, the wearable Millennium Puzzle, and even the billowing jacket behind him. However, I must admit that I had some difficulty attaching some of his accessories. You literally have to take his hand and his head off in order to attach the duel disk, the jacket and the puzzle and I was very concerned about damaging him. But I did so, as gently as I could, so here it is!

I took a few pictures of him before I included the accessories, but I really do think that the extras complete the look! I may or may not want to purchase the Seto Kaiba figurine due in September, but I must say, even if I'm unable to, I'm very happy to have this figure as part of my collection!

Anyways, everyone! I'll try to be on Deviantart at least occasionally in the next few days, but I'll be back home again on June 12th! Take care now and thanks for looking everyone!

The inspiration: This is an extremely tragic, extremely beautiful song. I was inspired mainly by the ... feeling of the song, in general. I listen to it sometimes when I'm going to sleep, and it just seems so fragile. And sadly romantic. A semi-wilting flower seemed to fit.

The last two lines also particularly inspired me. The song seems too sad to be a perfect love song I was torn between depicting unrequited and forgotten love. In the end the past tense made it pretty simple to convey, I think. And, of course, the "write them" aspect was what resulted in my idea of writing on the flower petal.

The words I choice seemed right because it's such a direct sentence. With "the words just come and I write them as soon as I see them" I tried to make it seem like there was no thought, just emotion. If that makes sense.

The technique: These flowers are from a funeral. My dad's a minister, right, so every now and then he brings home the flowers from church. (He actually brought these for valentines day and tried to make it seem romantic. Cute, eh?) I'm glad he brought them, though. This somewhat wilted rose was the perfect set for the shot plus there's a pretty tragic backstory to the photo.

Anyways, I just got my mom to hold her finger under the petal for me and wrote "i loved you" on with a pen. I already knew this, but you might not: flower petals are a lot harder to write on than you would think because they repel the ink and they're really fragile. Actually, if you look closely, you can see the ink in the "i" is totally not absorbed and is just sitting on the petal. Looks really cool.

It was a relatively fast shoot. The lighting was perfect, the settings were easy. Took a couple of shots and was done.

I wanted to make some new clothes for Titania, as she only had one complete outfit and it was getting uninspiring to always take photos of her in the same clothes I made a waist corset, leather shorts and a shirt to go with the rest. The belt I made for the earlier outfit, but since the colors are pretty much the same it works well with this one too.

I'm also planning to make a military jacket to go with this outfit~

I woke up to our first snow today. It actually kept falling for hours and I was planning on going outside while it still snowed, but I got stuck on my computer and only made it once it had stopped already. Well, it was nice and bright so it wasn't too bad. I had wanted to try to catch the falling snow in camera again, but maybe I'll leave that for the next time.

Kilbas was just too pretty in his new leather vest and armthings and his furthing~ The pants were a bit too dark, but when I dressed him yesterday I had no idea we'd get this much snow overnight. He's now changed into his winter pants but want to bet, the snow will be gone before the next time I'm inspired to take him out. xD His outfit would still need a hood but I'm not sure if I have enough of this leather. I'd like to go to the fabric store and see if they have more, but I doubt it. It was pretty cheap and just so thin and soft and lovely.

Another part of my LOTR replica collection.
This is a full size, fully wearable Gauntlet of Sauron. Official replica by United Cutlery, it is made from the original armour, using the same building techniques and is constructed from antiqued iron, with over 30 moving parts, and real leather glove and inlays. The One Ring is plated in 24kt gold and is inscribed in elvish I especially like the beautiful acid-etched intaglio on the surface of the armour plate.

I've had this for a few years now but it just hides away in the box. Thought i'd give it an airing, show it the light of day for a while lol

I love Sauron's armour. It is intricate, beautiful yet very menacing

Bringing back the tree

Merry Christmas, everyone!! I hope you have a great holiday! And a white Christmas!!!

Okay, so I did a photo similar to this one a while back but wasn't too happy with it. So, I dug out all of what little leather I had left and got to work with Wintersong. I think I managed to finish making the harness in a little under three hours, but I'm not sure. I had a bit of trouble making the collar. I started out by making a wire frame then built it up with leather, it actually worked pretty well. As you all know, I make all of my tack by scratch (no patterns, instruction etc) so every one has a little bit of me in it. Sometimes literally...Don't ask...So here they are, bringing home the tree!!! This is my Christmas photo gift to ya all! Merry Christmas!!!!!

Here's another Breyer horse photo. In this shot the guy on the pinto challenged the girl on the rose gray to a race across the country side. Who do you think will win?

I'm actually pretty happy with how this turned out. I hand painted the black and white pinto and made all the tack for him. I also made the rose gray's bridle and both of their boots. Another bit I did with the pinto was to cut chunks out of his mane to make him more tack friendly. The saddle on the rose gray is a Breyer saddle that I fixed. In fixed I mean that I ripped it apart used leather to build up the tree so it wouldn't be flat then I fixed the stirrups so they are actually adjustable and I also added the bottom flap of the saddle so a proper girth could be attached.
