Here's where you can find them:

January: [link] - still really proud of this knife!

February: [link] - Okay, I can't draw worth a crap, but this was still a lot of fun

March: [link] - I liked this mask, not only because it was one of my better repair jobs (you can see the before/after at [link]) but also because the cherry blossoms outside the apartment made a great backdrop!

April: [link] - April was a really productive month for me with a lot of great projects, but I chose this one as my first fancied-up custom Breyer horse!

May: [link] - There were several photos that my partner and I did of the wolf cloak I made in May, out at Catherine Creek. This is one of my favorites, though. Spring was when I really started branching out beyond headdresses and tails in my costume work, and I think this cloak was a turning point in that regard. I'd done a couple of fancy costumes, like Lady Red Riding Hood [link] and the Anput cloak [link] , but here's where this sort of thing began to become a more regular part of my work. You can see more pictures of the cloak here: [link]

June: [link] - And here's where the costumery starts to get even more elaborate! This was the Steampunk Scavenger, the costume I made from leather scrap and a vintage hyena head and tail, among other recycled components. I ended up keeping it for myself, but I wear it to every steampunk event I go to. You can see more pictures here: [link] - and, again, this is one of those shoots where the location, out in the Columbia River Gorge, was something I liked as much as the artwork!

July: [link] - This was one of my greatest accomplishments in 2012--my first ever fashion show! It was held at the RAW Artists show here in Portland, and I had a wonderful collection of models who came together to show off some of my best pieces ever. I am ever grateful to them all, and I plan to have more events like this in 2013.

August: [link] - I did make some awesome costumery this month (including the infamous Skirt of Tails [link] ) but this pouch gets featured because it was one of my nicest paintings ever, especially considering it was entirely freehand! Again, I am not the best painted in the world, but this pouch pleased me quite a bit!

September: [link] - Again, a really good month for headdresses and such, but I chose to highlight a few of the customized blind bag G4 My Little Ponies I'd done that month. I started making ones like these earlier in the year, and here's where I really started getting into it with the My Little Goddess series (which is ongoing).

October: [link] - October was a rough month, since I was sick for half of it and it seriously slowed me down. I still managed to explore some creatively, to include trying out my idea of real fur ear fascinators! They're by far one of the most fun types of project I've come up with this year, and I've gotten a lot of good response to them.

November: [link] - Back in July, I had a bin of my art and books stolen while offloading for the RAW show. One of the items stolen was a drum with a wolf painted on it, pictured here: [link] . It wasn't until November that I finally got over the pain of that loss to try re-doing that piece, as a way of reclaiming. The wolf drum pictured above and found at the link at the start of this paragraph is the result. It's one of the very best paintings I've ever done, and the picture doesn't do it justice.

December: [link] - I ended 2012 on a strong note. Along with a coyote fur and deerskin cloak, a wolf fur vest/cape combo, and individual sets of animal paw handflowers, I created this elaborate deerskin and bobcat fur totem ritual set, decorated with acrylic paint, bone beads, and pheasant feathers. It's composed of a veiled headdress, a pocket belt, a pair of handflowers, and a choker. I created it to illustrate my newest totem animal myth, "How Bobcat Got Married": [link]

All in all, I really like how 2012 went for my art. I came up with a lot of new ideas, and I was happy with their execution as well. I feel more confident in my standing as a fully self-employed artist and author--hell, I didn't even get into my writings in this review, including my newest book: [link] And while this review is pretty heavy on costumery, I made a lot of other smaller things I really liked--pouches, jewelry, ritual tools, etc.

And, most of all, on this dawn of 2013, I'm energized and ready to make this year even better! I've already been sending out emails querying about potential opportunities, and the ideas in my mind grow stronger every day. And you know what? I can't wait to see how it all comes to fruition in the next 365 days!

Blank meme here: [link]

It was right by the water, but still touched the edges of the forest. People were friendly and quiet here and she offered her services up as an apothecary. She helped people the best she could, but not enough to pull the attention that a doctor would. It fit her quiet life and she was happy enough. Most of all, it helped her forget the sins of her past, of who and what she used to be.

A man walked through her door one morning, he bells on the door chimed and she looked up from her book as she held a fresh stem of lavender in her hands.

He had stunning white hair, and dressed impressively. He stumbled over his words slightly, obviously not comfortable with what, or who, he found in this simple house. She wasn't offended though, it didn't seem like a bad thing. He peaked her interest and she smiled back at him in an attempt at hospitality.

Little did she know, her life was about to change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yue is here! I was so surprised! I really didn't think she'd make it by Christmas! I'm soooo happy with her!
I painted her up last night and I'm instantly in love! She's so sassy looking next to Sarin, loooove! They look good together, and have that whole tall man short lady look which I looooove!
I'm not sure if I'll keep this wig on her or not, she seems to look good in everything though!
Yue lived in a small house on the outskirts of a central city.

I was pondering a purple one, but I may just get her another black one that's better quality. Fully mechanized buttons activate the On/Off and Volume controls of the iPhone. The case is hand-rubbed with English Walnut finish, and I used a Cranberry-Apple felt to cushion the phone. A spring operated trap door locks open to let the phone in and to allow access to the USB power adapter chord, and shuts like a “mousetrap’ with a slight push, which I think gives the case a truly “antiquarian” 19th Century feel.

The reverse of Version 1.2.1B "Boilerplate," features a copper-sculpture on the back, reminiscent of steam-powered machinery, with a thermometer in the back (non functional).

Most of the front of the phone front is unobstructed, on account that you have a front camera, the auricular speaker, and proximity sensors. Fully mechanized buttons activate the On/Off and Volume controls of the iPhone, however I do NOT provide an opening for the mute switch.

The new mechanized buttons for Version 1.2 of the Dione feature a hollow copper tube fixed directly to the wood case and a brass-plated steel-spring mechanism to push back the buttons (previous versions relied solely on a neoprene rubber tab to hold the buttons in place, so the new arrangement is much stronger). The "crown of the button is a brass nut mounted on a zinc screw. This new arrangement allows your friends to play with the case even when the phone is not in the case!

The case is hand-rubbed with English Walnut finish, and I used a Cranberry-Apple felt to cushion the phone. II "Boilerplate," features a derivative of the original iCog Lid™ copper-sculpture on the back. Please note the rear of the case is designed to accommodate various decorations other than those shown, and I have ANOTHER version of the Dione with a "metal-lace" backplate (V. 1.4D "Diana," see the other items in my store or please send me an inquiry). The "Boilerplate" version is also more expensive because its two different projects rolled into one (Dione "Basic" + "iCog Lid™" ).
A Steampunk Case for use with the Apple® iPhone® 4 / 4s, it is named after the ancient pre-Classic Greek goddess Dione, and intended to be the “smart-phone” nod to the Oracle cults, this is an item for the discerning Lady or Gentleman who wishes to remain anachronistically proper while enjoying the benefits of living in the 21st century.

This case now available for $99.95 at my shop, Victorian Steam Calculation Engine Co. [link] is a custom, made by hand, made-to-order item and it needs 2 weeks to be manufactured before shipping.

I HAVE 2 PICTURES OF THE HADES HERE IN DEVIANT ART, AND 5 IN MY SHOP VICTORIAN STEAM ([link] , and the same 5 at my Etsy shop [link]); FEEL FREE TO LOOK AROUND!

This case is handcrafted from Aspen, Poplar and Pine.
