Mmmm...doughnuts and a very rare Volkswagen. Oh, and that metallic red beauty is the amazing new 2012 McLaren MP4. Back to the VW - according to www.passatworld.com, of the nearly 80,000 Passats produced from 2002-2004, only 424 were equipped with the W8, 4Motion AWD, and a 6-speed manual transmission. Of those 424 only TWO were produced in Indigo Blue with beige leather interior. With 9-years having passed since production, I very well might have the only car like this on the face of the Earth. The car rides as quietly and as a Lexus with gobs of sound insulation stuffed throughout the engine compartment and cabin but thanks to the W8 and dual exhaust it also has a definite albeit faint sound of a V8 muscle car while revving up through the gears and downshifting. For a large luxury car (much larger than the 325i it's replacing) it accelerates off the line and handles amazingly well thanks to the AWD and traction control. But I digress (as usual). We have here a 1950 Willys-Overland Panel wagon with a cute lil butt . . . erm, excuse me, a teardrop trailer. The Willys is painted CorvetteYellow and has a Chevrolet 307 in the engine bay with a Turbo 350 performing the transmission duties, Flowmaster providing the appropriate exhaust music, and Torque Thrust II wheels to mount the rubber doughnuts on.

The teardrop trailer has a very comfortable looking sleeping area and a nice kitchen in the butt . . . [ahem] boot is what I meant to say.

This car/trailer was exactly right and I could not have done it any better. Well, OK, I could not have done it at all in my present financial state, but that's for another story. This setup has "Road Trip" written all over it - let's drive it up to Yosemite for a week of camping. I'm sure the bears would leave us alone with the bright yellow paint to blind them.

Speaking of bears, a friend of mine took his almost new pickup truck on a camping trip in bear country. They forgot and left some Doritos in the truck bed. Well the big ol' bear got up there, scratched the heck out of the paint and ripped up everything he could to get those Doritos. Made a mess out of the truck.

The moral of this story is . . . wait for it . . . [crickets] . . . Yogi Bear says: if you can't bear the wear and tear, leave the Doritos at home!
Yeah, I know, that was pretty lame. And I don't even like Doritos. ]]>

This is the last picture I'll submit of the car since the only camera I took was my F90x and the film I had in there was awful and loaded when drunk (I pushed it from 200 to 400).

He immediately went into an awesome cyclone or doughnut before doing another jump that snapped the right front off of the frame and I think he might have damaged the axle as well.

It melted rather quick considering it was almost 60 degrees Fahrenheit after that freak storm.
