There are still lots of things that I want to change or improve on with this John Lenn- I mean Simon Petrikov costume, but as a whole I'm super super happy and satisfied with how it turned out!

I had never made a prosthetic before, I'd never laid my own facial hair pieces, I'd never made a functioning backpack, spandex gloves, or dabbled in PAX paint, but I pushed myself to research and learn about all these things in order to get as accurate as I could with this costume! I also had to make the costume for our Little Marcy, and had a blast with that! Even if I was terrified of using such tiny patterns! x3

One unfortunate thing about this run-through was that I thought I'd lost my Science Parasite (the little pink fella in Simon's pocket), but no, he'd just fallen to the bottom of my garment bag and was found RIGHT as I was taking the costume off. XD Ooooh well! Slippery little buggars. On top of that, I had some really cool antique polaroids and video cameras that I wanted to use for poses with Chlo-Chlo (our Marcy), but our time in costume was absolutely chaotic, and we found ourselves nearly late to everything on account of the crowds and never wanting to upset anyone by turning down a photo request at Anime Matsuri (although we did have to apologize and hurry on past a few, SO SORRY IF WE DID THAT TO YOU).

But we ARE planning an on-location photoshoot (as well as more surprises!), so I'm really excited to fix my costume up for that.

I tell myself time and time again with different projects that I will, but I never do. The Dark Side of the Financial Crisis

One photo, one exposure, no composite.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

It is a period of financial crisis. Due to budget cuts, the evil Galactic Empire is getting weaker, day after day. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, are regularly winning battles.

The evil lord Darth Vader, seeing his end getting close, gathers his strengths, for the last battle. As the exceptional podracer pilot he always was, he decides to ride the very last experimental machine constructed by the Empire's best engineers. However, the insidious recession got there too, and things are not going as expected....

Yes, I am shamelessly having too much fun. I really hope I will manage to put some smiles on some faces with that photo.

Technically, it was a pain to obtain that result in one shot. In a nutshell, I constructed a structure around Vader, so that I could hang him to it using fishing lines. Of course, the whole thing had to be relatively light, so that it could be installed anywhere. Here is a little list (probably non comprehensive) of items used in that shot:
- 4 long metallic bars (measuring 2 meters each)
- Screws and bolts, in order to attach bars together two by two and construct two 4 meters long bars
- A rope, to link the two 4 meters bars at their top, and create an horizontal line over the scene
- Some fishing line, strong enough to resist the weight of Vader and his podracer
- A Darth Vader suit, that I stuffed with random fabric I had around (I had to buy the suit for the occasion)
- Planks of wood, to construct the oars
- Some paint for the oars
- Motorbike gloves for Vader's hands
- Of course, a large cardboard box
- Lots of duct tape and various wood pieces, in order to fix Vader and the oars in the box

A first try was made by my wife and me. It failed miserably: holding everything in place was too hard for the two of us. Fortunately, we were supposed to visit my parents this week, so I charged the car with all that stuff and took everything there.

My parents were very kind, and accepted to help us. In fact, I believe they find it quite funny too That second try went much better: my dad was holding one of the 4 meter vertical bar (left side), while my wife and my mum were holding the other one (right side). I believe I had the easiest task with my camera taking photos: the structure proved to be heavy, as the podracer was pulling it towards the middle. The wind was also an enemy, but in the end we managed to get a few good shots. Back at home, I quickly processed one of them (by cloning out the fishing lines and adjusting the colors a bit), and that was it. I won't hide that I am very happy about the result.

A big special thanks to my wife and my parents for their great help.

Yay, my first BJD makeup!
I was so afraid about doing it because I didn't want to ruin it, but I'm so proud of the result! It came out better than I expected, and I think it isn't bad as a first try!
obviously I need to improve yet, specially about down eyelashes (I didn't draw the superior ones because they use to have plastic eyelashes, but I haven't buy them yet) and the lines between eyelids.
Also, please tell me what do you think about the lips, I did lines again because it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier and awesome in resin (have you ever tried to draw those lines in a plastic doll? it's a pain in the ass) and I think they look good, but I need your opinion. Do the look dry and cracked or realistic and juicy?
and as a final note I enjoyed doing this much more than repainting monster high dolls (it's like being in heaven when you don't have to draw the whole eyes), I like that too but this... this is my thing

I was called by the head of the cataid organisation and was asked if I want to take pictures of some cute Babies-cats. Kittens were mostly raised in helping families, because that is the best way for a good sozialisation and prevents infections which could occur in the cat-shelter. So my girlfriend and me drove to the family and when we came in the Woman who raised kittens smirked at us, gave us a note and mentioned that we had to name the kittens first
We considered hard and suddenly my girlfriend grabbed the note and named this little critter Olli. So the kitten became my namesake. She said that little Olli was the most hungry one in the litter so he HAD to be named after me

"The crawling mist overwhelmed this valley during our visit, making it
even more “magic”. This is, I guess, the moment I personally liked the
most during our stay.

It may be some more surrealistic image in its slightly experimental
processing, but it is linked in some way to the visions that haunt my
spirit. The ochre transitions through the softness of the mist… And
the oppressive side of the mountains that were surrounding us… The
sun remained quite nebulous behind a thin cloud veil (which I normally
hate), but the mist changed everything. A thousand ideas came into my
mind when it arrived; we were all running a bit everywhere, I also got
bogged down once more in a bunch of bushes that were too big, I
couldn’t get out and yet I had to hurry.

Then there was that man, more or less out of nowhere, with only his
stick and jean shirt… A thin silhouette fitting pretty well to the
mood, I would have liked to use him more but I didn’t dare disturbing
him… Besides the mist was leaving quickly, it was… really a particular
moment, and rare… out of time.

I love this one even more than the first, and I put a lot of effort in doing the eyelid lines more thin and with a better angle.
Some of you told me to don't draw them black, but as I've seen all the best BJD makeup artist draw them black and white, and I think it gives a beautiful touch that is also hard to do, and I love how it looks.
This time I wanted to try a sexy and dark makeup, I added some spots and I love the result! I think next time I'll try a fantasy makeup, maybe pink or blue themed.
I enjoy a lot with this, and I think I'm not bad at it!

This is a recent shot from a workshop. When I suggested this shot I realised it was a fine line as to how it could turn out. I am very much about presenting shots of women that are not tacky in any way and a nude in a kitchen could be received in a way I would not like. To this end I was very careful to make sure that the model looked as natural as possible when the shutter clicked. Even though she is nude I believe that her expression and presence gives the shot a credibility that would likely not be felt if she was conscious of the camera.Also I feel that shots with a scenario can create depth to the shot that a studio nude sometimes cannot match.

I got the idea for this one while i was at the dentist earlier today ..maybe it was because i barely got any sleep the night before or maybe it was the anesthesia ,either way i hope you guys like it.
NO TEXTURES USED . I sprayed some water and used my speedlites to create that effect

Name: snow leopard (Uncia uncia or Panthera uncia)
Location: Hight mountains of Central Asia (Hindukush, Himalaya...)
Size: 1.3 m long body, 1,3 m long tail weight: 54 kg
Diet: Siberian ibex, argali, wild goats and wild sheep, deer, boars, langur monkeys, marmots, similar small mammals and birds
Conservation status: Endangered (there are 4000 – 6600 snow leopards)
Interesting facts: snow leopards are considered to be big cats, althought they are quite small than other big cats | snow leopards are not able to roar | other name for snow leopard is ,,irbis“ | snow leopards use their long and very fluffy tail as a scarf to hide their neck and head in cold weather. Fluffy tail is also good for balance | they have small ears to eliminate loss of body heat | snow leopards have blue or yellow eyes.

Another shot of my Fix it Felix cosplay from Sakura Con I got some unexpected reactions while wearing this cosplay, most notably a number of girls excitedly asking for photos and hugs because they had "massive crushes on Fix it Felix". I had NO idea that he was a character that people crushed on prior to wearing this costume but the more you knowwwww XD

I guess it must be his honey glow, ladies can't resist the honey glow.
