From our last trip to Walt Disney World - a couple of seahorses relaxing in one of the smaller aquariums at the Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion at Epcot. The littler aquariums are much better lit than the big giant one, so getting hand-held pictures is much easier.

Some minor lighting adjustments done in Photoshop to adjust for the overwhelming blueness of the original picture.

Also, not sure whether this is the right category to place this picture in - it's not technically a Wild Animal shot, as the photo was taken at a Zoo. I've put it in Aquatic Life, even though when I think of Aquatic Life I think of fish... Sorry to any gallery moderators if this submission is in the wrong spot.

Whilst on our trip to Queensland, we visited an Underwater Zoo called Underwater World. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend that you take the opportunity - the aquatic life they have on show is astonishing.

We spent a little time in the Seal Viewing Area, and discovered this seal (whom I think is named April) who appears to have an avid fascination with children. Whenever a child would tap the window, she would slap the same place back with her left flipper - but she would only play the game with children. If an adult did it, she'd give the adult in question a look of disdain and then proceed to ignore them and go in search of the nearest child. It was amazing to watch and I couldn't help but take several photos of the encounters that she had. This is one of the better pictures - a lot of the pictures were much blurrier than this one due to either the speed in which April moved or the excitement of the child when they discovered what April was doing.

I would have loved to have spent more time there taking more shots (even setting up with a tripod maybe), but our time there was sadly limited. The visit was a definite favourite of our trip - when we go back to Queensland in the future, I'm definitely going to attempt to get back there to spend the whole day at Underwater World.

Diet: crustaceans, crabs, turtles, catfish and other fish.
Conservation status: unknown (probably some 100 000 animals)
Intersting facts: river dolphins are usually born dark - as they get older, they turn into pink colour | river dolphins love swimming in the trees in the flooded jungle | some local tribes protect them, because they think that killing of inia will make them unlucky | river dolphis are much more flexible, than ocean dolphins. They can even catch their tail with their mouth! | river dolphins have whiskers! | some belive, that river dolphins are almost completely blind, using only echolocation for orientation.
Legend: Amazonian tribes belive, that male river dolphin sometime leaves the river and turns into the very handsome man. I went to the zoo today and took heeeeeeaps of photos so there's be a few more after this.

I was just so mezmorized by this particular scene (there are meant to be seals but I was too busy staring at the actual enclosure ) one, cause I love water, and two cause ya can see the actual sunbeams filterin' down!

Or is that just me...

I don't know how to edit or touch up photos so whatcha see is pretty much what was there.

School of fish swimming very close in shallow water, this was a great day and I hope to encounter more marine life in due time with my underwater camera setup.

Other news there will be a sequel for the Disney film 'Finding Nemo' that will be out in cinemas 2015. This is an exciting day for me, I have always loved Nemo ever since I was younger it has been my favourite animated movie. The new one is going to be called 'Finding Dory'. Go figure!

It's always fun photographing sea turtles, they are such peaceful animals. The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle is listed as endangered by the IUCN, largely due to habitat loss.

This is Snorkel. Snorkel is a Loggerhead Turtle.

The Loggerhead Sea Turtle (Caretta caretta) is a sea turtle and the only member of the genus Caretta. The genus name "Caretta" is a latinization of the French "caret", meaning turtle, tortoise, or sea turtle. A loggerhead sea turtle reportedly grows up to 800 lbs (364 kg) and 3.5 feet (1.1 m) long. Their shell color is a reddish brown color, and the color of their skin is brown yellow.

Today the main threat to the adult loggerheads lies in shrimp trawls and crab fishing nets, to which many loggerheads annually fall victim. Furthermore, adults are often injured by speedboat propellers and by swallowing fishing hooks or getting caught in nets. Internationally, animal protection organizations take pains to monitor and protect the turtles' nesting grounds in Turkey, Greece, Bonaire, and Costa Rica. The turtles can also be found around the Italian islands of Lampedusa and Linosa, off the coast of Sicily, and in Calabria, where it is particularly endangered. Furthermore, the turtles are known to nest on the beaches of Cyprus, especially Akamas and Alagadi Beach.

My friend has a GREAT camera that takes underwater shots, so I used it to my advantage and had a cosplay photoshoot the other day.

I took a few shots inspired by the scene in Vampire Knight when Zero tries to bite Yuuki and they fall into the pool! (I believe it is the fifth episode in the anime?)

One of my favorites is this one... Let me know what you think! I'll probably upload a few more.

Underwater Ballerinas

Jellyfish taken at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey, California.
This place is just awesome. They have so many beautiful and interesting animals there. And the jellyfish in the fish tanks are so gorgeous and their colors are so vibrant (most probably due to the lighting but whatever).

Hammerhead Shark

So I went to a nice beach resort about a year ago and I went underwater taking some pictures of a nearby reef when I saw this big guy passing by. I took a shot of him but then suddenly it quickly swam towards me. It stopped and allowed me to hop on it's back, so I grabbed onto the fin and we both swam around scaring some people on the shore. The lifeguards tried to catch and stop us, but the hammerhead jumped into the air and we both flew into the sunset _{(I really wish this happened).}

The hammerhead shark is hands down my favorite aquatic creature, perhaps even my favorite animal. It's a unique shark and has a very ominous figure as seen above. Glad I was able to capture such a photo like this. I think it's a great tribute to a great shark. I wish it was shark week...

On a random note, first photo submission!

Recently I've been to the Dolfinarium harderwijk. We went there early so I could try to interact with the dolphins in the underwater viewing when there weren't too many people around yet. It was an absolutely stunning experience. A lot of dolphins, especially the younger ones, came right up to the glass to play with me, following me around, looking at my fingers and blowing bubbles. It was incredible. This is a photo of Molly and her daughter Lelie, both interacting with me. Molly was the only adult dolphin that day that played with me

People suffering of claustrophobia, refrain swimming in such place! the hole between the fish was done with the bubbles released by my octopus(is a diving regulator, not the animal This wouldn't have been possible with a re-breather...deep ~20m... changed the contrast and added the border... Venezuela - Los Roques - Gran Roque (la guasa). Nikon F4 - Aquatica Housing, 2 Ikelite AI/n strobes Kodak Royal Gold 100.
