I am still firm in my beliefs, but I realize I may have worded them in an aggressive manner, and for that, I am sorry.
I fully support straight relationships, but I am against homophobia and misunderstanding of gender fluidity.
I fully support gender roles or conformity, but I am against societal expectation.
The point is NOT to get rid of these things, but to make it so people are not FORCED into them.
My ultimate goal is for everyone to be able to relate to these messages despite gender, sex, identity, race, religion, or anything else.
I am only using these stories and characters as a tool to do so.

As you all hopefully know, PT is all about love between girls. So yes, lesbians, if you so choose to label them.
We know spirit day isn't just for lesbians, but since the story deals with LGBT empowerment, we wanted to do this really, really bad.
_{(We apologize for only having ladies in PT thusfar, but when the time comes, we'll be doing this same thing with boys in the future.)}

As we've worked on this project and uploaded development images on here, some of you have mentioned the girls being too overtly masculine, but really, what is gender?
Gender is something defined by culture. Gender and biological sex are different.. and gender expression varies insanely from person to person.
Gender is something many use as a weapon for hate.
But, to me and many people, gender is fluid.
So within this story, we tried to explore many types of gender expression within girl and girl love:

_{Sam&Sara: are our "androgynous" couple.
Though many of you want to label Sam the "boy" because of her name, height, and the fact she does sports, this is not the case.
We purposefully made them to be very interchangeable as far as gender roles go. Gender conformity shouldn't matter to any couple, straight, gay, or anything else.
Sara is a "tomboy" because she likes video games and skating. Sam is a "tomboy" because she plays sports. But really, "tomboy" is just a term, and what defines what is a "boyish" or "girlish" activity?
The focus in their story is more based on the romantic aspect that love transcends gender and biology, so we wanted their pose to be tender, protective, mutual.
There's a sense of masculine protectiveness about both of them, and a sense of fragile tenderness and femininity to both of them.

Jay&Jess: are our "masculine" couple.
Honestly, a lot of people have a hard time understanding this couple because they both have aggressively masculine body expression.
"Gay girls dress like boys just to get girls, right?" Wrong. Why CAN'T girls wear men's clothes? Why can't men wear girl's clothes? Gender conformity.
A girl can wear men's clothes and still like men. A girl can wear men's clothes and still like girls. Or like masculine girls. Your sexual preference has nothing to do with your personal expression.
We hope to give their story a very boyish charm to it. We want them to be very protective of each other. There is no "damsel" in this relationship.
That's why their pose is very blunt, strong, and steadfast.

Stella&Gale: are our gender conforming relationship.
Gale is masculine, and Stella is feminine.
On the outside, they do follow the typical "butch and femme" dynamic.
Is it WRONG to follow gender roles? No, not really. If it works for you in a healthy way, it's great. There's a reason it exists, I'm sure.
But when gender roles become an expectation, to the point where it harms and isolates groups of people, it's just a tool for oppression.
Gale and Stella happily conform to their gender roles, and we hope to portray it as a healthy "protector" and "nurturer" give-and-take.

Mona&Su-Mi: are our "feminine" couple.
They seem to be very widely accepted, because "if you like women, but still want to dress like a woman, that's great! It's hot!"
Ah, objectification. Despite the undesirable portrayal of femme-on-femme lesbian porn, we definitely didn't want to discount the fact that lipstick lesbians exist and are very prominent.
What IS wrong with conforming to your gender and liking others who do the same? There's a sense of equality there that you don't get in opposite gender relationships.
As two feminine women, we wanted them to be tender, nurturing, quiet. Somewhat sensual, but still modest, straying away from the objectified "lesbian porn," but not denying their sexuality.}

We don't mean to label our characters, or their stories. But sadly, the problem of gender conformity is still rampant in our culture, so it DOES effect them. We can't turn a blind eye to that.
It effects real life same-sex couples, it effects real life straight couples. it effects young people who are harassed in schools and in the streets.
We don't want to label them, but we do want to address these very real problems.
We label them only so the reader has an easier time understanding them, and understanding what we're trying to say.
We label them because we want to question how we label others.

Because in the end, we need to stop looking at gender, and start looking at people.

Happy Spirit Day, in memory of those heroes.
Let's dye the world purple.

This is my first typography art I really did.
I wanted to do it for a very long time but now I found the right quote and the right time to do it.

It is nothing special only the quote is amazing and needs to be shared.

For sure, it is also a little bit of an hommage to Steve Jobs. But not only for what he invented, but more for how brave he was while looking into the face of death. He gives us a great lesson about what life really is with this quote.

I changed the quotation marks to the english ones. I am a german native speaker and our quotation marks look like this
But this is an english quote, there is nothing german in this, so they were wrong. Now I used the english marks. Much better.

I thought it was Alex's turn to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. I was conjuring up a few costume designs (from Darth Vader to Jason Voorhees), but somehow the masks of those characters don't seem to exude 'sexy' when stuck on a naked female body.

A friend showed me an image of a cosplayer that's building a Voltes V helmet, and that inspired me for this. I had a body paint costume made, but erased it.

So please note; This is my original character Alex in a Megumi Oka helmet, gloves and boots ensemble. This is NOT the actual Megumi Oka character in the nude.

One of the most important differences between Christianity and other religions is that our God (the only God) came to the world, BUT He is not dead, though He is here.

There's a quote I found that I want to share with you.
"The tomb of Christ is famous because of what it does NOT contain".
It is true, you can go to Confucius', Zoroaster's, Buddha's, Confucius', Muhammad's tombs and find those tombs with bones or dead people, but if you visit Jesus' tomb you'll see that He is not dead!

Look what the Bible says: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..."_{1 Peter 1:3}

Notice that it says lively hope, the hope we have as Christians is lively, because Jesus is alive, otherwise why would you believe in someone who is dead?

If you did not hear about it, let me explain it within a few lines: For about 4 months now deviantart launches a new frontpage system called "Fair Exposure". It is not only based on the count of favourites/comments/views anymore, but tries to feature deviations from different, especially underappreciated categories to have a variety of art on the frontpage. While this seems like a honorable and nice goal it seems to achieve the reverse effect. It is called "Fair", but if you look at the frontpage these days it wont be hard to notice, that "Fair" looks different. Masses of people submit their deviations to obscure categories just because it increases their chance to get to the frontpage. The frontpage is full of naked women presenting rather intimate parts of their bodies, photographs of lego-figures with 20 favs, MLP-fanart submitted to totally wrong categories and art that is submitted to resources and stock images, just because you can download a custom brush that was probably made within minutes... On the same time pictures with lots of favourites, even of unknown artists, who spendt hours and hours and WOULD or SHOULD HAVE been featured on the frontpage, don't get the chance to get some exposure, because they submitted their piece into the right category. The new frontpage system favours special categories (Photography>Interior/Exterior, Wallpaper>Photmanipulation, Digital Art>Vecor Art/Typography, Resources and Stock Images just to name a few of them), while more popular categories like Manga/Anime, Fanart, Digital Art>Paintings&Airbrushings and others are handicapped. So it is not rarely seen that a picture with 100 favs gets featured on the frontpage, while a picture out of the handicapped categories with, lets say, 500 favs remains unseen by the masses. I know that art shouldn't be all about popularity and that, but if you try to build up a fanbase and maybe want to work as an artist, then you are dependent on the exposure your art gets, so the frontpage indeed gets really important for you. And also the people, who just use deviantart to show the fruits of their hobby or passion, use the frontpage for their inspiration and to find rolemodels, which's skill-level they try to achieve. The frontpage is for me one of the most important features DA has, it shows (or should show), what moves and concerns the people. But now the frontpage doesn't show anymore, what really is "Popular" but more what is "put into a certain category, which the new system favours, because it is underappreciated".

Through the old frontpage I found most of the awesome people I am watching now. I found the people, who inspired me to get better, whose art I admired and whose skill level I wanted to achieve... But now I hardly find anything really awesome on the frontpage anymore. Surely many pictures on the frontpage were also made by people, who have passion and spendt many hours on their art... But a big part of the pictures only is there because of cheating or having luck, because they were chosen of the new algorhythm.

I know that there are people, who might disagree with my opinion. If you don't think the way I do, feel free to post your opinion in the comments. But for me a lot of the magic DA used to have was lost with this new system...

But this deviation shouldn't be just a complaining piece of a frustrated deviant, I wanna try to give you, DA, a suggestion, probably everyone would be happy about:

Fair Exposure is basically a nice thing, so why don't you just make THREE categories for the frontpage:
1. Popular (the old system, more based on the numbers of favs/comments/views)
2. Fair Exposure (The new system, featuring pieces of rather unknown and new artists)
3. Newest

If you agree with me and think that would be the best solution to overcome the problem, there are some things you can do, to make DA aware, that their users are dissatisfied with the current situation:

1. +FAV this deviation so more and more people can see it
2. Write a journal about the topic (providing a link to this deviation or just copy-pasting the text above)
3. Download this deviation and submit it to your gallery giving a link to the original deviation
4. Sharing this picture and the ideas everywhere to make the topic viral

The frontpage is full of naked women presenting rather intimate parts of their bodies, photographs of lego-figures with 20 favs, MLP-fanart submitted to totally wrong categories and art that is submitted to resources and stock images, just because you can download a custom brush that was probably made within minutes... On the same time pictures with lots of favourites, even of unknown artists, who spendt hours and hours and WOULD or SHOULD HAVE been featured on the frontpage, don't get the chance to get some exposure, because they submitted their piece into the right category. The new frontpage system favours special categories (Photography>Interior/Exterior, Wallpaper>Photmanipulation, Digital Art>Vecor Art/Typography, Resources and Stock Images just to name a few of them), while more popular categories like Manga/Anime, Fanart, Digital Art>Paintings&Airbrushings and others are handicapped. So it is not rarely seen that a picture with 100 favs gets featured on the frontpage, while a picture out of the handicapped categories with, lets say, 500 favs remains unseen by the masses. I know that art shouldn't be all about popularity and that, but if you try to build up a fanbase and maybe want to work as an artist, then you are dependent on the exposure your art gets, so the frontpage indeed gets really important for you. And also the people, who just use deviantart to show the fruits of their hobby or passion, use the frontpage for their inspiration and to find rolemodels, which's skill-level they try to achieve. The frontpage is for me one of the most important features DA has, it shows (or should show), what moves and concerns the people. But now the frontpage doesn't show anymore, what really is "Popular" but more what is "put into a certain category, which the new system favours, because it is underappreciated".

Through the old frontpage I found most of the awesome people I am watching now. I found the people, who inspired me to get better, whose art I admired and whose skill level I wanted to achieve... But now I hardly find anything really awesome on the frontpage anymore. Surely many pictures on the frontpage were also made by people, who have passion and spendt many hours on their art... But a big part of the pictures only is there because of cheating or having luck, because they were chosen of the new algorhythm.

I know that there are people, who might disagree with my opinion. If you don't think the way I do, feel free to post your opinion in the comments. But for me a lot of the magic DA used to have was lost with this new system...

But this deviation shouldn't be just a complaining piece of a frustrated deviant, I wanna try to give you, DA, a suggestion, probably everyone would be happy about:

Fair Exposure is basically a nice thing, so why don't you just make THREE categories for the frontpage:
1. Popular (the old system, more based on the numbers of favs/comments/views)
2. Fair Exposure (The new system, featuring pieces of rather unknown and new artists)
3. Newest

If you agree with me and think that would be the best solution to overcome the problem, there are some things you can do, to make DA aware, that their users are dissatisfied with the current situation:

1. +FAV this deviation so more and more people can see it
2. Write a journal about the topic (providing a link to this deviation or just copy-pasting the text above)
3. Download this deviation and submit it to your gallery giving a link to the original deviation
4. Sharing this picture and the ideas everywhere to make the topic viral

Be a part of this revolution, which is not against DA, but is willing to make DA a better place!

What can I say?

What I do as a hobby and hopefully as a career wouldn't be possible without companies like Apple, without people like Steve Jobs. He completely revolutionised technology, things we could only dream about less than 10 years ago are daily items in our lives today - all because of him.

I grew up with the development of Apple in the 00's into the amazing company it is today. It has a major effect on young people, and the new generations wouldn't bare to think about the days without iPhones, iTunes, etc. Thank you for changing the world and bringing the future to us, and let's hope it continues to develop with new and creative items in memory of Steve - though nothing will be completely as good.

R.I.P - a true genius.

The world should continue to "Think Different". Because that's how we make such advancements and leaps in technology that he proved, he set the example for all to follow.

So, I'm bi, and I dunno about you, but I'm sick and tired of people bragging about having a "gay" friend, or a "transgender" friend as if they're collectibles. It's not like everyone goes around saying "I have a heterosexual friend, check it"

Maybe I'm being sensitive about it, but having helped several of my friends out, both straight and of other sexual preference, I've grown to notice just how many people seem to speak this way.
