Since I've been getting some requests for some more clouds, here ye be. Apologies that some have "edges" from the photographs I took, I figured you could work around it better in your photomanipulations or whatnot than I could anticipate where to crop the clouds to erase.

I got tired of using other peoples photo brushes for clouds or try to do it my self with crappy results.
So i invented this pack of brushes to still create my originally clouds but still get a beauty full and realistic effect.
(the brushes are a mix of different tutorials I followed)

If you know this problem and your seeking for an answer, here it is ^^
It contains:
1 Simple puffy cloud brush (creates a realistic cloud with every mouse click you make)
1 Puffy pen pressure cloud brush (simple cloud drawing)
1 Puffy colour cloud brush (If you want to make a cloud in a different colour)
4 Stroke cloud brushes (you can make everything with these, from clouds in the air to mist, to cloudy textures etc. etc.

I was using this for personal use but it seems that people seem to love brushes so i hope this will help you with creating your drawings more realistic.

To install download this file and place it in your /Program Files/ Adobe/ Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets/Brushes
restart photoshop and it will be in your brushes list.

My Brush Pack

So these are really the only brushes I use, period. I barely, ever, use custom weird funky brushes unless its for design purpose. I find this collection achieves exactly what I want, and haven't searched elsewhere. It's like my Holy Grail so I figured all of you digi painters could use them as well!

Now you might be like "Why such a small list?" I don't mean this in an arrogant way , but I can really achieve any feeling I want with these brushes, just get used to them, play with it and it'll work out! They did for me.

I have a run down below on what each brush is used for in a painting:

Brushes

Standard Brush: This is what I use to drop my basic colors when quickly slapping down what I want. I seldom use it for actual detailing, but if I need to block in thick patches I'll use this brush.

Detailing Painting Brush: My favorite brush next to the fur brush. This one is simply used to get those nooks and crannies. If I were to use the brush above for 25% of the painting, this would be the other 75%.

Lighting Brush You know all those lens flares, over bright lights, shiny glowing areas I do? This is the brush. Use it softly and you'll achieve a nice bloom in your lighting.

Detailing Lighting Brush For tinier spots, harder lighting areas.

Texture Brush: I use this brush mostly for pores, dabbles on the skin, bumpy surfaces, or just to give texture to skin in general. Works like a charm.

Hair Brush/Smudge Brush Pretty Self Explanatory. Do I start off painting hair with this brush? No, I use the Standard Painting Brush then I go over it with this brush to create the strands/etc. As for the smudging, this is my ideal color mixer when I need to blend tones, acts like a bristle brush and merges all those nice colors together to create a creamy feel.

Chalk Brush: I use this for clouds sometimes, smoke, or just patching in colors. Works better than I can explain.

Hard Ink Brush: This I use rarely, but when I do use it, it really helps. Usually for adding glare, or tight highlights on certian objects to make them pop. Like the girls earring.

Texture Brush # 2 : This one I use a lot to get nice pores, that sweaty look or just overall skin texture.

Cloud Brush #1-3: Used to paint clouds, nuff' said.

Abrams Lighting Brush: I love this brush. In my "INSIDE THE BEAST" image, all those lighting effects you guys talked about were used with this brush.

Speckle Brush: Used for skin again, or to dirty something up.

Debris Brush: Need to create dirt flying? Tiny bumps on a sexy leg? This is it sucka.

Fur Brush: UNF! My favorite brush. I use this for skin, fur, cloth, metal, sparks, debris, glass, anything. It's a hard shell to crack, but once you do..it's a GREAT brush.

Pore Brush: Literally my 489474th brush used for skin/pores.

Glass Brush: Used to create shattered glass, papers flying, etc.

For best effect use low Opacity and Flow (between 30-40%ish) and use a combination of 2 or more from the set

As with my last set a graphics tablet is required to get full effect out of these brushes.

After so many people requested it, I finally found the time to go through my gigantic pile of brushes and clean them from duplicates and presets I've never really used. The set is built on brushes found all over the internet. You may or not find in it brushes made by ~DanHowardArt, `DanLuVisiArt, *CoyoteMange, *algenpfleger and many many more. I picked and chose what I liked from them and that's how this big-ass set came to life.

The set contains 174 brushes that I use on an everyday basis. For your convenience it's divided into 9 categories:

Basic - brushes I use the most. Most of my paintings are made using those particular brushes and often I use only those alone. Brushes from the following categories are just an addition and are used depending on the subject and stylization I work in.
Clouds - a few dynamic brushes to paint skies, mist and smoke.
Rock - perfect for rocks, ground and other rough surfaces.
Water - splashes and brushes with wet edges - best if used with light paint on dark surfaces.
Hair & Feathers - Well, ain't I a douchebag. I completely forgot to check the release document for most of the fur and feather brushes and now had to remove them from the set. Plants - a very big set of dynamic brushes for painting foliage. Most of them are hand-painted giving pictures a very nice and unified look.
Details - all sorts of little things that add to the final image - seams, light effects, laces and trinkets.
Textures - yummy grunge and garbage that will make those flat surfaces look interesting. Scratches, wrinkles, rust, pores, stains - all you'll ever need.
Smudge - special brushes for blending. They give very interesting blur and displacement effects.

Why lazy? Because there are plenty of brushes that make your life easier.

The set works best with Photoshop CS5 and CS6. It should work with versions from 2 to 4 too but some of the brushes might not give the same effects.

Based off my pro set, I present the cloud smudge brushes. You can use these to make wonderful cloud formation by smudging solid colors. The preview I made is a quick example. You may have the original preset brush from a preview set, but the second variation of this brush (different settings) is included here.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

- 70 - 80 % opacity
- New layer per cloud
- Don't over drag the brush

About these brushes:
Since 95% of my work starts out as a pencil sketch, I wanted brushes that I could use to clean up smudges, get rid of structure lines, and add details, without losing the organic, textured quality of the original. I still use photographic textures on most pieces to really pound in the papery look, but I use them a lot less nowadays, and I've shown the example images here with no texture so you can see more clearly what exactly the brushes can do.

Details and recommendations:
1. Pencil line (shown here with flow set to 60%) - my magnum opus thus far. I use this to clean up my sketches, and the size is perfect for images scanned at 400dpi. (at least if you sharpen your pencil every 10 seconds to draw tiny fussy lines like I do.)
2. Spongy brush (shown here with flow set to 60%) - a variation of #1, but softer and rougher. I use it for rough coloring and shading.
3. Cloud brush (shown here with flow set to 60%) - what the title says. I also like to use it as an eraser when I'm painting with harder brushes so the textures get mixed up and don't get too monotonous.
4. Scritchy line (shown here with flow set to 100%) - a harder line for details or more cartoony lineart. I also like to decrease the flow and/or opacity and use it for shading sometimes, for a cross-hatched or scribbly sort of look.
5. Texture... thing? (shown here with flow set to 100%) - I mostly use this for backgrounds. I'm still figuring out how to unlock its full potential.
6. Smooooth cloudy brush (shown here with flow set to 100%) A much smoother painting brush that still has just enough grit in it to make it interesting.

I have been told that these also work in GIMP, but not in Sai.

I've never shared a resource like this before, but I'm quite proud of these! It still feels a little like sending my babies out into the great wide world to seek their fortune, so please take good care of them, draw pretty things, and feel free to show me anything you have used them for!!!

Here's a few lovely little brushes for ya'll! Think of it as a bit of an updated set The only work on CS or above, sorry

Heres a little run down of what they do;

1) The palette knife: general usage , gets nice sharp edges.
2) spiky cable brush: adds weird detail to stuff.
3) Line brush: detail brush.
4) Building brush: name says it all.
5) Strut brush: building detail brush.
6) Rake: detail brush.
7) Cloud brush: name says it all.
8) Scattered dots: good for lights.
9) Really scattered dots: stones, random lights etc.
10) Dot pattern: glass, metal detail.
11) Grass brush: name says it all.
12) Ground texture brush: good for texture.
13) Rock brush: makes rocks.
14) Spiky leaf: plants etc.
15) Rock texture: add to the rocks you make with the rock brush.
16) Shape brush: adds detail and can be used to make vehicles.

Please show me the artwork you use them in because i love to see how different people use them

All the brushes that I have on my panel at this time ^^
The first 3 brushes my main. Actually it's just a variation of one standard round brush. I often paint a picture using only this brush.
7 -13 multipoint brush, typically used to detail the skin, hair, and they are more easy to mix colors.
Brush number 14 I like to use instead of the standard round, it has a special effect.
other brushes I do not use often, only for some texture effects.
Brush at number 17 is not mine, it's very old I do not know the author, but it's one of my favorite brushes, and it is very cool and fast to paint clouds. I'm insecure, that number 22 is my brush.... hmm ... if you know who the author tell me please.

Set is only 7$ and it will save you a lot of grief; this is a brush set no digitial manga artist can really afford to be without. One sheet of tone is 4 dollars, it's hard to use and massy. It can take hours to do cross hatching the old fashioned way if you don't wreck your paper to begin with. These brushes will pay for themselves with your first project!!!

You can use them as normale brushes and this set include my last test smoke effect.But they are preset for smudge.
And they are really multipurpose for cloud,smoke,skin,fur, and hair by smudge.
*Hair and fur, drop the strength to 70% and less and turn the brushes with the proper angle for your work.
Fade preset is a good one for small detail hair or fur, but dynamic can do the job.

I assume you understand all the brushes you can find in my account are exclusive and all are my own work without modification and duplication, this is needed to be clarify for everyone.

I made them in PS 7 but compatible with CS5,CS6 and more information will follow for PS version soon, also compatible with Element.

EDIT>PRESET MANAGER>LOAD and find where you download these brushes and click ok

Unfortunately Gimp users will not be able to use them with the powerful original preset.And may crash the software gimp, i will not be responsible of this situation, so i suggest you to wait until a proper set will be release in the future.They can be stable i have no idea, so gimp user use them at your own risk.

WARNING: I apologize to those of you who do not use a tablet, these brushes are created specifically for tablet use! Sorry!

These are the kinds of brushes I have been absolutely RELYING on lately to shade my anime characters. (I dont use the hair brush in here, I shade my hair with the other brushes as well. Thats just an added bonus! <3)

There are two soft marker shading brushes and two hard marker shading brushes, a line art (pen) brush, and airbrush, and a hair detail brushes for that extra touch (thought I don't use this brush...just tell me if ya like it XD!)

Cloud Brush

Photoshop 7 and above.

This is a cloud brush with a difference, cloud brushes are normally in a set of standard cloud brushes however this brush is created entirely in the brush style pallete therefore the clouds are rendered.
There is little or no chance of two clouds created with this brush being exactly the same and the clouds look realistic.

There are now 5 size variants of this brush, if you require a different size then whilst you have a brush selected change the size to the size you need and then go into the brushes pallete and click texture, then change the scale percentage to the same value as the size of the brush, this will make the brush keep detail which is otherwise lost.

Please this if you like it and leave me feedback so that i may improve this brush.

Since my first set of manga brushes were so useful to people, I made another set! ^_^

This one features lots of cute little things good for shoujo manga digital tone-ing. The lace can be stamped to make borders, and all overlap well (as shown in sample). Some of these were modified from Deleter Tones. The cloud one came from a picture of my bed sheets! XD

Compatible with Photoshop 6 and up (including CS).

so I get asked a lot 'what brushes do you use?' and I thought I may as well put this up. There's actually only one brush here, but to get the different angles all you have to do is adjust the angle of the brush; making the brush tip rounder will, obviously, round out all the strokes, but leaving it at around 60% roundness can still give a nice variation in size.

EDIT - I cannot for the life of me remember where I got this other brush so if anyone knows let me know and I'll replace this with a link, but for now—the splodgy brush is the one I use for the majority of my ' painterly' work, and it works especially well for smoke and clouds
