Basically just draw blah, then dark strands, and then keep building up on the areas that catch light?
I am not a master of drawing hair, k thnx.

My steps~

I paint everything in one layer, monochrome first, I do keep a copy of the sketch in a layer above just in case I forget something (my memory is like a goldfish!!!)

I use the luminosity layer to add color~

A purple overlay to bring all the colors together (red and blue are close to purple in the color wheel ~)

Texture overlay of I think, paint smudges? (got it from pixiv)

Texture overlay of rusting metal (got it from pixiv also)

Blur and downsize~

Tools used:
Bamboo tablet
Paint Tool Sai
Manga studio 5

Time: about 2 hours at most
