Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. Sorta. I took some liberties. And obviously, it's not done in the style or tone of the movies. I always feel vaguely weird about categorizing my fanart as anime art since I don't think my style is particular anime-ish. Oh well. Did this one to play around with light sources.

The figure was sketched and colored in Photoshop. No references used. The background is a manipulated photograph I took of a parking garage. Total time about 3-4 hours.

EDIT: D'oh, yeah, the neck does look really weird. I fixed it up a little bit. It's still on the long side, but hopefully doesn't look quite so strange. Thanks to everyone who pointed that out.

Her name is Motoko Wii; so if you say it in japanese it would be "Uiimoto-ko" get it?

One thing that I've noticed that amuses me greatly, is the inconsistancy of my pictures, whether it be in quality or complexity. I never know how a pic is going to look when I start, and some just turn out better than others on their own. This is a good example of one of my better pics, its simple, there's nothing actually "wrong" with it. But for all I know, the next pic I do could have something glaringly bad about it that I just can't help. How curious it all is...

Umm...I actually like this drawing...my sister was like draw a Motoko and Batou one (after seeing my Naruto Chibi one) and this is what I came up with it's almost a chibi version of her picture of Motoko and Batou..I was listening to "Always and Forever" by Bullet For My Valentine which is why it looks rough...I wanted to color it and coloring it lightly would work so I tried it...it looks alright I guess...Well enjoy...

SOOOO this is my Motoko Kusanagi costume from forever ago. This picture was taken Aug of 07, but I just got them back. There's no editing done on this, so I put it in the Crafts section rather than photography.

The glowy yellow thing was a lump of yellow glass that we put a flash behind.

If anyone wants to play around with this and edit it that's totally fine. Let me know when its done please!

Happy Almost Summer!!!

Okay, so this weekend I decided to pick up Love Hina #1 and give it a try, and laughed a few times, I like it even if it is a bit pervy... ie anime . But in a lovable way.... ya. Anyways, I hadnt read any of it yet, was just skippin through looking for a girl to draw, and I picked Motoko. And so, she ended up so so so out of character. But she looks like she's having a good time in the sun!

So ya, Motoko being more relaxed, and without any kendo gear.

Pfft I'm sorry Motoko. |D You're now a stupa. I thought it was kinda fitting though, what with stupas being holy symbols like graves, and she's a reaper. .3. IDK. I just really wanted to include the EP reaper while making sure the animations don't follow the original exactly. |D So therefore, making the objects like the three-legged cat, the flowers blooming secretly on the ground, etc. all characters. .3.

This one probably took the longest out of the animations thus far, second to maaaybe Leahcim. |D

PFFT WHY IS IT THAT ALL THE CHARACTERS I'VE DONE SO FAR ARE PART OF LEAHCIM'S HAREM?

I don't even know.

I'm a pretty big fan of GiTS. Motoko is a big inspiration. Not too happy with the composition of this piece. Kind of dead center... need to work on that.
