New School Doctor Who Toys

So, after showing off my Old School 80's figures from Dapol's Doctor Who line, I decided to show off my newer series toys.

From left to right:

There's aGrey Krillotine, a Mark III Dalek, a Mark IV Dalek, behind that there's a Mark VII new series Dalek, to the right is a Mark V Supreme Dalek, behind that not seen very well is a Mark VII Assault Dalek, and next the the mark V Supreme Dalek is a Mark VII Supreme Dalek (Dalek Sec). Behind that is two disguised Repair Drones AKA Clockwork Men, behind them is the Werewolf from Tooth and Claw. Back to the front row is the 4th Doctor with the Mark I K-9. Behind him is the 10th Doctor with the present day Sara Jane Smith and her rebuilt K-9 Mark IV, behind her is the 9th Doctor with Rose and the Regenerated 10th Doctor. Just in front of Rose is another version of the 10Th Doctor with miss Martha Jones, and in front of them is another 10th Doctor, this time with a custom re-sculpted head and with him is Miss Donna Noble. In front of her is Jamie AKA the Empty Child, off to the right a bit is Captain Jack Harkness. In the very back are three Autons and in front of them are a possessed Ood and barely seen is Toby who is possessed by the Beast. In front of them are the Master and his two Toclafane Spheres. Blocking Toby with his head is the 5th Doctor and just behind the master is a Slitheen. Off to the right is a Gelth Zombie and in front of her is Cassandra who's spiders are mixed in the picture here and there. In front and to the left of Cassandra is Faceless Grandma Conelly standing next to the "Space Pig" on one side and the Wire both in hand held and console versions. Off to the right of the Wire is a Sontaran Trooper and finally, a Cybus Systems Cyberman and the Cyber Controller.

in the very front of all this, is my 4th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver and three TARDIS keys.

Moving to scraps.....

I was going to draw his kiss with Jack as well, but that was the ninth Doctor so it doesn't count (as much as I enjoy drawing guys kissing ).

Drawings 4 and 10 don't really count because 4 was when the Doctor turned himself human(John Smith) and 10 was the Doctor's half-human clone. But hell, I'll just keep them in there.

The tenth doctor gets 10 proper kisses. Coincidence?

The Tenth Doctor is the name given to the tenth incarnation of the fictional character known as the Doctor seen on screen in the long-running BBC television science-fiction series Doctor Who. He is played by actor David Tennant, who replaced Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor in the 2005 series finale, "The Parting of the Ways", having reintroduced Doctor Who that same year. The incumbent Doctor, Tennant has appeared in three series to date, as well as three Christmas Specials. As with previous incarnations of the Doctor, the character has also appeared in other Doctor Who multimedia.

Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a centuries-old alien, a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, who travels in time in his TARDIS, frequently with companions. When the Doctor is critically injured, he can regenerate his body but in doing so gains a new physical appearance and with it, a distinct new personality. What if... Nine and Martha

You know, it bugs me that when I decide to do a quick doodle in my scrap book, and it turns out better than the stuff in my proper A4 drawing pad. *sigh* Ah well...

Here's one such sketch, the ninth Doctor and Martha, the first of (I hope) several sketches depicting series 3 of Doctor Who but with the ninth Doctor. I may try colouring this in Photoshop, if I can find the time.

Just some sketchy sketches of the 10th Doctor and his soon-to-be companion. After going through all the emotional tribulations with Rose, I was resisting the introduction of a new partner, but now I'm excited for her (apparently she's going to do martial arts !). I was disappointed that she isn't as curvy as I had assumed - going back and watching "Army of Ghosts," I saw Freema in all her creepy sleekness. But, she's still going to rock...I hope.

Yes, I drew David Tennant as a bat. You got a problem with that?

Also, if you haven't seen any of the old series, you HAVE to watch some Davison (5th doc) stuff. He's hysterical. So underplayed and subtley funny. Watch it! (Especially "The Five Doctors" or "Castrovalva" on YouTube.)

The basic idea came in a talk with about what if the 4 lovely guys of the Cult of Skaro were turned into Human/Dalek-hybrid thingies ^^.
...And my conclusion, that this probbably could accause more problems that solving them ^^

It's just a simplistic thing...no shading or anything fancy. It's not like it's a work of fine art.

So yes, I do ship ten and Rose, however did you guess?
In my head, Rose and the human Doctor sleep like this, with their chests pressed together. It took him two months to tell her that it doesn't really feel like he's got two hearts again because he still likes cuddling.
I spent a good deal of time getting all the wrinkles in the pajamas and the top sheet right, and then, just as I was sitting there feeling proud of the finished result, I noticed how large their heads were. And every time I look back at the picture, they look bigger. Now I can't see the bodies at all, all I see is these huge heads that might or might not have bodies attached.

Nine hundred and seven year old man, nineteen year old woman: seems legit.

Tallulah with three Ls and an H gives advice that really does not apply to someone who hasn't gotten over a woman named Rose.
Oh, Martha. Martha Martha Martha. You're a perfectly nice lady, but were too high level for the campaign, and you reminded me of all the parts of me I didn't like. "Hey, he's saying no now, but I can wait. I'm cute, one day he'll warm to me. ... one day." "So this is the friend zone! I can deal with this; he's a cool guy, he'd make a cool friend... nevermind, I can't deal with this, unrequited love sucks, let me out."

I sort of am writing but not really a fic about what happened after the human Doctor and Rose settled in Pete's world. The doctor, even when human, is not used to living in a place he does not expect to leave in less than a week. Thusly, he attempts to procure a wife, children, a job, and "a proper house with doors and things" as quickly as possible. It takes Rose becoming visibly pregnant for him to realize he has no bloody idea what he is doing.

A little handy chart I use for my comics that shows all the characters heights relative to each other.
Some of these heights are a bit iffy as there are varying reports on a few of them, like Freema, who's listed as 5'2" - 5'5" depending on where you look. It's creepy that you can look this stuff up. Useful for me, but creepy.
And who'd-a think it, Chris Eccleston is taller than David Tennant. Huh.

Edit: I've removed the characters that don't really appear in SftT, and added some of the newer characters. But I have left the heights of those I have removed on the list blow, just in case someone needs the info for one reason or another.

If you're really so curious, exact heights are as follows:

Okay so The episode Human Nature, very well written episode but I personally hate it because of how poorly Martha was treated and all the crap she had to endure. The Master was right to call her a "Saint"...Anyway back on subject, wasn't too fond of Joan's character either cause of how she treated Martha too. And I wanted to see the Doctor and Rose dancing together quite frankly over Joan.

So this is how my ADD rittened brain came up with this idea. "I like ten and Rose, but I'm peeved irrationally at ten in this episode so I think of nine instead. Then I think Nine and Rose were so cute...ooo, so what if you could bring Rose into the Human nature episode? Joan wouldn't stand a chance then. Ooo what if you had Nine and Rose in Human Nature? John Smith (as nine) and Rose dancing... I wanna see em waltz! I will use my artistic God complex and make it so 'Number one'!"

Such a nerd. So that is why this picture exists. The hardest part was finding reference for the dance hall. Rose dress I kinda had Wendy from Peter pan in mind for a choice though still not as pleased as I could be about it but its good enough.

So first of all I know this sucks monkey butt but it was SUPER SUPER SUPER fun to do!!! And if you`re a Doctor Who fan (and possibly Zelda fan) you`ll get the jokes. Oh but I made The Doctor seem like a coward and Rose seem like a... well nvm.

10th Doctor Tribute FireFox Persona

More to the ponit, on the last page of my sketchbook, I was trying to draw Glitch and it wasn't working, so I imagined Glitch yelling at the tenth Doctor because apparently I can only draw one piece of fangirl fodder played by a Scottish actor at a time.

Metacrisis Doctor and Rose share a romantic blimp ride. I got to lazy to draw the rest of London after I remembered the how far apart the eye and Big Ben actually were.
And no, Rose isn't fat in this picture, if you think you can see her gut from the back, it's because she's four month pregnant. Don't give me that look, what did you think they were going to do in Pete's world, open a bakery?

Also, the best Jack Harkness I've ever drawn. Next to a rather poor Doctor.

Team Who - Utopia

Finally, fanart with Sec on it.

For my story, "Team Who". Not here yet... no where near ((still on "Human Nature")) but I felt bad, what with all the fantastic efforts others have made to illustrate my story. So... here's a little something for them.

As you can see, this is Utopia. The Doctor's worried about Sec who feels that something shouldn't be on this planet that is... and he doesn't like it. Meanwhile, Jack looks at his new surroundings, whilst trying to contact Torchwood on his headset. Martha doesn't know who to turn to. And yes, there is a rather stupidly drawn Futurekind watching them with a torch from the hill.

And just to say... yes, Sec is the most important character in the Utopia storyline I have planned. Yay for Sec! q ^0^ p

Admittedly, I'm a Tom/Martha shipper, which, in my opinion, proves that I don't hate Martha because I don't ship people I don't like.

And despite the fact that Freema wore a freaking kickass black spy outfit in LotL, one cannot help but wonder WHY this was, considering she didn't do much spying or sneaking around, she did more of getting people killed and telling the entire world about her hopeless crush on the Doctor.

No, I did not like LotL, once the uberness of the Master's dance and his bathrobe wore off, I found that the episode came about 50 BIG steps short of what should have been a memorable moment in DW history.

RTD tried so hard to make Martha likable, but when one looks at it, all she did was walk around the world despairing about how the Doctor didn't love her. "Think about the Doctor's name when the counter clicks zero" couldn't have been more appropriate? Apparently not. "I love him and he doesn't love me back, but he's great so you should totally do this or you're all going to die" sounds much better.

Martha's outfit was very kickass, there is denying this. I just wish she would have lived up to it. The only point I think I really liked her in the episode was when she left. Because it showed that she finally matured.

I hope she'll be better next season, because I really do want to LIKE her, but when I really think about it, she really ended up as a disappointment to what I thought the "black smart doctor companion" would be.

I've never really done fanart- well, yeah, fanart for a show not really- for a story... or extremely non-canon sort of shipping... *heavier blush*

I didn't know when I'd get near a scanner so I used my camera to take a picture (sorry it's so dark) and I've never drawn either of these two before... and the colours are probably wrong for Sec and the sucky TARDIS background... and a few other things are possibly off too. BUT, I think I did a fairly good job of it.

the downside of rewatching Doctor Who with my friend and falling under its spell all over again is that the wait for series 6 has become particularly extra unbearable ):

I will never understand why Martha got so much flack from the fandom and writers alike simply for the crime of ~not being Rose~. she's terrific.

Crouching Tenth Doctor

A WIP of the Tenth Doctor crouching down. The pose is referenced from DWM #375 (November 8th 2006). I started this late February long before the new Doctor Who season started and the advertising campaign that went with it.

The symmetry spoke to me to split the picture into two parts - the Doctor we knew with Rose as companion (right) with soft browns, and the new Doctor we were going to see in season three of hard edges and stark contrasts to embody his recent losses.

This is my first foray into acrylic painting. Imagine how amused I was when the BBC adverts started to do 'split screen' with the Doctor's face on the left and Martha's (new companion) face on the right!

Comments about whether I should leave the background black, or put stars in it or something like the Seal of Rassillon are welcome.

This was going to be SO good. I had so many ideas, and then I sort of... forgot them, and tried to write this when I was not quite inspired. So it turned into... spew.

That is my new word, spew. There should be a section just for spew... Wait, I think it's called 'scraps'. But I'm afraid of the Scraps category, have you noticed? Probably because all my work would belong there if I put even one thing in it...

OK, I should explain why it's in the Fan-Fiction section instead. Because this is for the Doctor. I wrote it sort of in the point-of-view of someone who was maybe part of one of the Doctor's crises, who helped, maybe was the central part of the problem, but who wasn't quite... important enough. Maybe someone who wasn't his Companion, but who would be later - or who wanted to be.

I don't know. This is shamelessly filled with quotes straight from the episodes of "Series 2". (I just finished watching "Doomsday" again - I cry every time. ) I'm not going to cite every one and their episode...

Oh yes, the title comes from the episode "New Earth", where Novice Haines (Haynes?) tells of the legends that say that the Face of Boe will reveal his greatest secret to 'one like himself, a wandered, the lonely god.' Something like that.

...I think I have a Doctor Who addiction, especially to the Tenth Doctor, I've watched every episode of "Series 2" (10th Doctor - my favorite of them that I've seen, although I really haven't seen too much of the earlier Doctors - and Rose - whom I like a bit better than Martha at this point) in the past week, except for "The Christmas Invasion", which I may or may not watch tomorrow...

Enough. I've been watching it all day, suffice to say, which is why I have half a dozen deviations (at least) and nearly 60 messages that I have to reply to, so don't be offended if I haven't commented yet.

...I don't own Doctor Who, nor will I ever. So there.
