Recently ive been playing around with the different tools on photoshop and drawing my characters in different ways, i guess this was the outcome of the whole thing
I changed her dress a tiny bit, i added a yellow rin to it becuase it was way too simple, and ive got the same colouring style as before only with more strokes and shading.
I need your opinion on this
Do you like this style? and should i continue using it?

Found this sketch and finished it That's one of my sketch of Gustaw Safety-Pin, he act weird when he was a kid, he collected a lot of things which found on the street and which people gave to him. People from his neighbourhood called him 'Gypsy'.

I drew this picky for a project when I was thinking about the poem by Alfred Noyes, called The Highwayman. Its so sad! >< I love that poem! I have the entire thing memorized. Since I was about 12. lol. I'm such a DORK! Anywho, this is a pic of a gypsy dancing. Its what I always pictured when thinking of that poem. I used a pic of Ezmarelda from The Hunchback Of Notrédamn. I changed a lot of things. I didn't really feel like doing her face. I have a colored version, but I doubt I'll post it. If I do, I'm sure my scanner will blow as always. XP Anywho, if I ever finish this poor dancing gypsy *giggles* I'll repost in deviations. I wanted to make her face look like Noah from the FMA movie, but I just don't have the patience to finish her. XP

Here's the result of today's livestream, a fairly quick character illustration, around 4 hours. Since it ended up turning in to kind of a demo, I'm posting the process psd so you can check out the steps I typically use to make a piece. I use the same process for more finished paintings, just with more time in the thumbnail and painting stages.

The gypsy photo I took last year was really popular (it so far has the most favs out of all the things in my gallery, not to mention a ton of views), so I took some photos of more gypsies this year. The Renaissance fest was really awsome this time (I got to do more things than I did last year). lol, durring one of the gypsy performances, they picked me from the audience, and 2 gypsy guys had a contest to see who could get me to swoon (this guy was one of them, and he won me over XD. He was really nice too). I might post some more pictures from the festival if people demand it.

Naruto - Pink Gypsy Skirt

I actually drew this one early-mid 2005 Fall semester. In my barrage of Naruto scribbles and jokes, I somehow forgot to put this one up. Heh. I should b/c it was one of the very first Naruto joke scribbles I made...and it got shown to the anime club against my will. After that, I showed the club almost anything I made...heh heh heh, torture!

This picture explains itself. Yaaaaay. Well, not really. Why pink gypsy skirts? Well, I have this bad habit of purposely picking up what many would perceive as hideous clothes and jewelry, and I do it on purpose. Why? Because I think it is hilarious. I do own a pink skirt that looks like a oversized hankerchief...it ended up being dubbed the gypsy skirt for whatever reason. Heh.

I find it funny that months later when Naruto goes crazy with power and his flesh is tearing apart from his sheer power, when it is all over his clothes...are completely fine! I was mad...heh, I was expecting a naked Naruto. Oh well. Maybe my explaination is applicable?

Rue from Princess Tutu as Esmeralda from the 1996 Disney film The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Sadly Esmeralda's lovely gypsy outfit wasn't quite suitable for ballet, so I tweaked it. :3

Oh yeah, and don't ask about her right hand. I really don't know what happened there. Something bad, by the looks of it.

#Club-Tutu was having their monthly contest, and I've always wanted to join in but never had time, and this months theme of "Disney Animated Films" seemed fun, so I figured I should at least do a quick drawing and enter. :3

This one took quite a bit of thought.

~Paranormal-one's Sleeping Beauty piece was so epic, it threw me off. >A>;

But at last, I looked at Rue's big fluffy hair and thought of Esmeralda, and... well, this happened.

I was originally going to draw a pas de deux between Rue as Esmeralda and Mytho as Captain Phoebus, but it didn't quite work.

Lots of flaws, yes. Granted, I didn't spend as much time on it as I should have. I have a lot of requests to work on.

Anyway, I hope you all like it. Can't wait to see all of the completed contest entries~ : D

Ref. Sheet - the Magpie Gypsy

Wow, this is a LONG time coming. I actually started this project, like, back in New Year's, when my friend wanted a reference so she could do her half of our art trade (sorry babe my fault...), as well as a few others drawing me prize art/trades/gifts/etc. So, um.....ta-da!!

This is my main character, if you will, even though you haven't seen much of her, lol. She will have a backstory soon! Well, soon for me, that means before Christmas....2020. But long story short, she's the first of the gypsy clan "Horsethief", can shapeshift into and communicate with magpies. She's rarely seen without at least one of her pets. She generally speaking doesn't interact with people outside her clan, prefering to go riding on foggy or rainy days and fading out of sight when people approach. However, she's not a complete recluse, and people have spoken with her, reporting her to be quiet, reserved and somewhat haughty.

She has a bit of a reputation in the villages where she is most commonly spotted as being some sort of a witch. The villagers are unaware of her shapeshifting ablility, but have noticed her seeming to interact with large flocks, or "murders" of magpies. That with the fact that she has a black cat only enforces their suspicions.

Very, very occasionally, a wanderer out late at night has been drawn to the side of her campfire, and has been treated to her more wild side. Dancing, shaking her tambourine and laughing in a peculiar fashion makes her seem like a completely different person to those who know over her reputation, and frankly, also makes her seem a bit mad. In these revelries, she wears gowns brighter and wilder than her usual solemn greys and greens. Those who do stumble upon her on those nights are usually dragged forcefully into the merrymaking, and afterwards claim to have witnessed unusual things happening with her and her menagerie. But when they try to make their way back to the site of the campfire the next morning, not a trace remains...

The most common sighting of her though, is the back of her long grey riding cloak and the flick of her horse's tail before she disappears into the fog and trees, and sometimes, if you listen carefully, you can make out the faint tinkling of a small celtic harp and the lonely cackling of a magpie.

Notes about drawing the Magpie Gypsy:
- Please note her list of "never seen without" and "only owns". If you want to draw her, I'd be more than happy, but she must have everything of the first list, and something from the second. (For example, regarding the second list, you cannot draw her with a purple cloak or red shoes. You can, however, design whatever sort of dress for her.)
- I love seeing her riding Giselle in the fog in her riding dress, dancing in front of the fire with her tambourine, or interacting with her animals, if you need any ideas. Otherwise, sky's the limit!

If you have any questions, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask! I'd love to see you draw her, and see what you can come up with!

Oh, and I almost forgot!! I designed these over 's lovely, lovely bases, which was fun to do! I learned a little more about movement and draping clothing during this project. ^^

Looks like Carlotta the Gypsy Woman has kidnapped Daphne Blake, for pretending to be a fortune telling. Though bound and gagged, Daphne can hope to be rescued by Fred, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby outside.

Carlotta is based on the character from the episode "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts"
Daphne is based upon herself from the What's New Scooby-Doo episode"It's Mean It's Green It's the Mystery Machine."
