Tattoo Design : Chest-Ripper

A course friend asked me a long time ago if he could have a tattoo design done for him. He liked one of my old drawings in one of my old project books, pencil and ink...it was a rotting/ skeleton snake that I did in 1st yr at college

I said to him I will re-draw it to fit to where he wanted it. Around the left side of his ribcage to his pelvis.

This is the finished thing. I did say to him that it WILL HURT. But he said it will be worth it XD

anyway talking of reptiles and tattoos...does anyone have any??

Edit 1 : ok so i came back to see how everything was a DA and.....wa...waoowa.....just 2hrs in and there's 2k views on this??? i haven't had a reaction like that since my 'Itachi : This Time' drawing several months back. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS!!

Yeah, I know...who'd want to get this? Well, a pretty fascinating person, that's who. He's the same person who has the zombie head with a crow pecking out the eyeball - elsewhere in my gallery. Not for everyone's tastes...but....

and if you look in my scrap section, you'll find the next tattoo design i have planned for him...which is: a living dead drowned girl...sounds gross, but, i think is quite lovely in a weird way.

yes, this is a real tattoo. that was debated in the comments so i figured i would clear it up here.

this is on a client of mine named David. took 3 sittings if i remember correctly. in this photo, it is pretty much healed except for the whites and some final details in some darks. this is also his first tattoo. as you can imagine, he is a huge spiderman fan.

I got it done at eye of the lotus in Edmonton by an artist named Seven. It took 8 hours to do but I love it.
It have 3 skulls wrapped in the roots of a dead-looking tree.
No real meaning behind this tattoo, but there doesnt really need to be.

well, i am a gaming nerd and I actually talked my budy steve who knows nothing of gaming at all into getting this backpiece from the warhammer game, i did the tattoo for free, it took 92 hours over the course of two years, took best back piece at the motor city tattoo convention with this. the pic is of the fully healed tattoo

Well that's it... The final piece for my portfolio. It is now officially brown trousers time as I prepare to get out there and begin looking for a tattoo apprenticeship. :s

I was looking at drawing some eagles, but I thought stuff it I want to draw owls instead. I was going for a sue-do harry potter/lord of the rings/celticy kind of feel.

As I was finishing up the sketch I accidentally got a bunch of ink all over the owls face so I had to transfer it to a new paper. FML

Sketched with 2H mechanical pencil, inked with pen/brush and ink and finally coloured up with pro markers.

Well. Im not finished with it yet, but will be during the summer i guess.

The wyrm is Urnes-style, and the pattern is a dynamic pattern from a rune-staff from Aros.
The swastikas are nordic, from a brikband of the viking age.

This is one of the greatest challenges i have faced. The left arm is getting covered up, and i am tasked with making it look natural, lovely and on purpose. So, it needs to grow.
To do this, im grading this giant mandala outwards, and my friend Satya handwrote the sanskrit calligraphy on the chest. More of this will follow, but dear god i love doing this piece

In our Color Theory class we're discussing tattoos - in particular, color v.s. skin tone. Anyway I shot with this model a couple of Summers ago and she had the most amazing art work inked around her entire body.

It was a beautiful illustration of an octopus or Kracken < not sure if that's the correct spelling but you catch my drift Really a wonderful tattoo and it fit her personality well - so I had to show you at least a glimpse of this.

Well.....this went out of hand .
The initial idea was to do a middle-sized back tattoo, inspired mostly by the WoW night elves shield/logo. Then, my darling client gave me free hands to bring something creative to the table, and said "moongoddess, feather, leaves.....and moon".....or something like that anyways .

So, after going bonkers in a couple of Mucha artbooks and the WoW artbooks, my mind came up with this. I think it went pretty well. My client asked me to marry her, so im guessing she is happy too, but my client yesterday did the same, and He, is a 2metre bodybuilder. How does a poor tattooist choose

My life, is fun and awesome. Thank you all for being a part of it, by reading, watching and hopefully, laugh

The greek swastika-project.
How to describe this......well.
First thing first. Its all hand drawn. This was before i got a stencil-machine, but i damn hell insisted on doing it, so i ended up drawing every bit. Argh.
The Squid is a minoan design, combined from different jugs, and no, its not a 9th arm, its actually its beak, and on jugs, it goes around the opening. Here, it goes around Jorgos neck
Its all dots, and it took a while
