I've never tried the lace pattern before and let me tell you, it was quite a challenge! Pretty sure I redid this at least 10 times! I used a piece of lace and it was difficult to find the right pattern and to get it to show properly!

This is done in celebration of Lime Crimes new Marie Antoinette palette! I wanted to create a look using all of the new colours. It has gorgeous soft pastels in it! <3

_{I have so many friends requesting that I draw on them now and so little free time to do so. They shall wait till I can. I did this on my friend Tuesday I think. And then we proceeded to change roles as each other. [we even traded jackets and fooled a few people...haha my friends are the best.]

I like making feathery and lacey designs so this one came out nicely pretty quickly tbh. I really wish sharpie,or something else would last longer. [thanks everyone for the advice, I might try henna if I can get my hands on it! Though I'm obviously not ready to ink people up permanently yet. [is that even legal? I'm 16, I can't even get a tattoo I don't think Id be able to give them...] I tried to take several photos and combine the views together to make up for the lack of quality. :c I don't carry a camera with me, spare my ipod...sorry. Maybe one day I'll get a good one. C:}

Anywho I might do a few more of these when I can. I do have a question for you all, I had my art class again today and we did figure drawing with a older male model. I out of the gestures and long poses liked one of the turn outs of the 20 min long poses and I was thinking about sharing it. Anyone want to see it? I'll be sure to have a filter on it. [even though it's just th backside, dw. not as gross as it sounds ok]

This is a bit in late but...it's my 24th design for the weekly challenge I'm a bit sad because the challenge is almost over...
The theme was "inspired by fashion", so at first I wanted to make something inspired by some dress but then I saw my beloved clutch *-*
I decided to get a bit gothic drawing some lace on my nails just like the one on the bag as always I used poster paint and my thin brush

GG and Rex had been in the car for three hours. It was a counting kind of day. Between the two of them, they'd eaten two bags of jerky, a box of pop tarts, and half of a honey bun- all that was left from yesterday's raid on the motel gift shop. They'd also passed fourteen churches- fifteen, if you included the mosque.

What they hadn't passed is one single ice cream shop, and GG was beginning to get mighty cross.

"Damnit, Rex, I need a little less Jesus, and a little more cookie dough."

"What do you expect me to do about it, darling?"

"Find me some sin, already."

I had to do a self-portrait for my into to photo class so I went to the bookstore and looked at some photography books. I came across Joanne Gair's book and absolutely loved her body painting and makeup work. I decided to try to emulate her work with my self-portrait. So a few youtube videos and DevArt photos later, I decided to do a lace look. I bought white and black face paint from the costume store, false lashes from Target, and Swarovski crystals from Michael's. The lace I already had from my fashion years. I think I spent about 45 minutes to an hour applying the makeup, and then spent several hours trying to get a good photo. I had to set my camera to self timer because we weren't allowed to have someone else take the photo. Anyways, I still haven't decided on which image to use as my self-portrait for class, and this picture is just to show the makeup detail.

The Holly + The Lace

Every year around this time, I make New Zealand holly cookies. They're shortbread-ish, simple circles with raspberry jam inside and a glazed top with marzipan holly berries on top. The little green holly leaves are painted on w/ food coloring and a paintbrush. They're tasty and gorgeous.

As I prepped to paint, I said to myself "Ha! See, your painting skill has a crossover application." Then it hit me. These snacks get eaten. I have yet again painted something completely impermanent. Oh me.

They inspired the holly lace. Which was fun and sort of a filler in between waiting for glaze to dry on the cookies. ...You know you want some. They is so tasty.

Time: 2 Melissa & Joey's. Maybe a few DWTS clips... *whistle*

Lace takes on completely different meanings... based on color. White lace is delicate, virginal... pure. Black lace is tempestuous, virile and rebellious, and red lace... well... red lace doesn't stay on for very long...

a henna tattoo i did on my sister..
this took a really really really looong time..
mainly because first i drew the design on her w/a special marker, then went over that w/the henna paste..
and yes, my hand was totally cramped after doing this..
it couldve been better, eh..i need more practice!!

Black lace is its own creature. It's a dichotomy of sorts- dark, rebellious, vibrant... yet delicate and wispy in nature. Fragile- yet strong.

Anywho, another old thing. From about 3 months ago? My friend let me draw on him during math...with a sharpie. I did'nt have time to finish the one on his right hand but it's still my favorite.

Man, this was one hefty file to upload!

These are photos taken to show the design of the henna pattern I put on my housemate the other day. For those who don't know, this is done using a paste (which is still on in these shots), which will dry and crumble off after a couple of hours, to leave a brown stain that should last 1-2 weeks depending on the brand.

Design: by me, partly inspired from ~arcanoide
Application: me
Hand and arm belong to: my housemate

The result of this is that I'm now booked solid for applying henna patterns until next year by everyone in my house and in my medical school!! I usually do it for organised events, but this, I swear, is sheer exploitation!

Feel free to use the design -- there's nothing wildly original about it -- but be creative My housemate has a tiny hand -- if you try doing it just like I did, it won't work.

I'm sorry, I'm stupid, I put the best part of the pattern over the massive base of my thumb, so it's not showing properly

I also apologise, the pattern goes up my arm, but since the model's me, I'm afraid I can only show the hand.

I dedicate this to all my watchers, because many of you have keep me on my feet when I literally am not steady on them.

These are more of a practice, I love leopard print and have been looking at some different designs, so i don't feel like i can take total credit for the design. (On a side note... fuck doing some lace forever. Any little movement in the arm and the design skewes. There's no right way about it. It's just damned hard and a pain in my ass, y'know? Still... it was my idea so I have no one to blame but myself). We're probably going to extend the lace down, but she thinks she wants to add something (text) around the sides, so we'll wait on that for now.
