So I have drawn myself as a winged creature :T _{but there is a reasonable explanation, I swear!}
This is actually for my little sister, Allison, as a joke of sorts. I'm leaving for uni next year and I felt like drawing her something before I went, especially since she's been spoiling me with cookies and 'sister forever' necklaces and 'I'll miss you' mugs etc, etc. _{yes, she is the sweetest ever} For some very strange reason, she loves referring to me as a 'mad harpy', and has been urging me to design something harpy related for a while now. Honestly, I have no idea where or how she came up with that term either :T My plan was to print this off and stick it in her room so she can have her 'mad harpy of a sister' on her wall to 'watch over her' when I leave.

Anyway, I've shown this to Allison and she says it looks more like some sort of angry & annoyed chocolate angel with super long hair, wearing my clothes... but she likes it! So I guess it'll do

When I was little my mother bought me a pinwheel boppers headband – it’s a headband with two pinwheels, that look like insect antennae. I used to run through the park with it on my head, trying to catch a strong current of air, so the pinwheels would spin faster; I would look at my shadow to see them whirl.

I shaded her in grays, because she is not the main character of the drawing (the pinwheels are), and also to suggest that the present is colorless, it lacks the happiness of the past times.
Right- opened envelope - you can't see the flap unfortunately, but it continues the lower part of the envelope
And below: the back of the envelope - I painted a little girl with a pinwheel headband in a dream-like atmosphere. The front of the envelope is illustrated with organic and somewhat abstract shapes that suggest movement and the feeling of whimsical joy. For me, “childhood” is a synonym to “colorful”.
