Portraits are hard, I think it does look a bit like you though, a bit.
it's probably because I used a huge canvass and the sketches always creep me out XD
you just get these horror smiles because all the lines are dark, and the iris-less eyes look into your soul, brrr. so at least this is not like that.

My greatest commission so far.
He wanted to be simple dressed up, ''man of the people'', no suit, no tie, so he posed for me in leather jacket.
I actually didn't bother much with the clothes so to focus on the face.

One of my paintings from my senior exhibition from the series "Story Starters." Story Starters are the beginnings of a story. Where you choose to take the story and what you choose to see is up to you. For this series, I focused on moments of discovery. There is a mixture of surprise and curiosity in the figures as they are confronted or confront an animal of shrunken size. Imagine your own reaction. What would be the next step?

As far as how my own story starter version goes, for Sadie and the Horse, a girl hears a scuffling shuffling sound. It's too big to be a mouse so she gets down on all fours and beings to inspect under tables and sofa cushions. Suddenly she is face to face with a pint sized horse who seems to be just as startled as she is.

Recently, I've been favoring painting over drawing. This started as a warm-up exercise to get me back in the habit of doing art every day, so I chose something I'm comfortable with, which (classic me) is Marilyn Monroe. This turned out pretty well for not painting portraits in so long, and I did this faster than I normally do, which I was impressed with. I didn't put as many details into this as I normally do. My meticulous attention to detail can be overwhelming, so for this piece I was working on accomplishing art that I was satisfied with that wasn't so pain-staking. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
