I finally took it to the foundry today to get molded and cast in bronze. Standing Nude Contortionist Sculpture.<br /><br />I have titled this one &#039;Swan&#039;, in reference to the &#039;grace of a swan&#039;, one of several contortionist studies I have been working on as of late.<br /><br />Mood and Melodrama. <br /><br />They are the building blocks from which I create &#039;Art&#039;.<br /><br />Her hair represents the fluidness of water and wind, the intricate little flowers represent thought and emotion. Each flower represents a single thought; a single emotion, and as one thought becomes another, they bloom and multiply, together forming a garden. <br /><br />The Garden Of Persephone. <br /><br />A garden of Light in a dark place. A collection of emotions, like an oasis. Most of the work I do is at night, it is when my inspiration is at its strongest.             </media:community>            <media:description type="html"><![CDATA[ With the Mystique sculpture now shipping to Sideshow customers everywhere, I thought I&#039;d shed a little light on the sculptural process of a piece like this.<br /><br />Working very close with art directors from Sideshow, as well as with the designer, Adam Hughes, the statuette progresses from a wire armature through clay and eventually to wax, being refined and tweaked along the way.  The initial clayup, or rough, was sculpted in Chavant NSP Medium plasticene, and was then cast in Toxic Mom&#039;s Wax for final cleanup and detailing.  As you can see from the photos, I&#039;m not above utilizing a mixed media approach to accomplish different effects, or just to make my life a little easier.             <description><![CDATA[ With the Mystique sculpture now shipping to Sideshow customers everywhere, I thought I&#039;d shed a little light on the sculptural process of a piece like this.<br /><br />Working very close with art directors from Sideshow, as well as with the designer, Adam Hughes, the statuette progresses from a wire armature through clay and eventually to wax, being refined and tweaked along the way.  The initial clayup, or rough, was sculpted in Chavant NSP Medium plasticene, and was then cast in Toxic Mom&#039;s Wax for final cleanup and detailing.  As you can see from the photos, I&#039;m not above utilizing a mixed media approach to accomplish different effects, or just to make my life a little easier. He came up with the concept and sculpted the body of the octopus and I came in to help with the wax work and welding. The glass tabletop sits level on top of the legs. Welding the legs to hold the glass tabletop was a very rewarding and challenging process. I've certainly improved my TIG welding skills a lot because of my work on this octopus. An interesting thing about this sculpture is that the eyes are hand blown glass. In all the table weighs about 500 lbs which means we have put about $5,000 into building it. We estimate that we put around 1500 man hours into this project. Here is another commission piece for the one and only <a href="http://hoon.deviantart.com/"><img class="avatar" src="http://a.deviantart.com/avatars/h/o/hoon.gif" width="50" height="50" alt="" title="hoon" /></a> Go check him out, this character is created by HOON and colored by <a href="http://jujika.deviantart.com/"><img class="avatar" src="http://a.deviantart.com/avatars/j/u/jujika.gif" width="50" height="50" alt="" title="jujika" /></a> I sculpted it. Its the 2nd of many characters that I'm going to be sculpting for him! There is a small story behind this monk, and where it was inspired! Hoon has more info on him. This sculpture was done a while ago, just now got the privilege of sharing it with all you folks! Definitely more to come! <br />

                <media:description type="html"><![CDATA[ Heres a life size eagle that i made from stainless steel...<br /><br />Wow .. that&#146;s a lot of feedback<br /><br />Ill try and and answer all the questions you asked here, and everyone who left a comment, thankyou you&#146;ve said a lot of really lovely stuff.<br /><br />If you would like to see it, its going to be at the Mall Galleries in London from 2nd &#150; 6th june, as I entered it into the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition/exhibition (theyre offering 10k for the top prize so wish me luck!) And then if it doesn&#146;t sell im sending it down to &#145;The Sculpture Park&#146; in Churt in Surrey.<br /><br />I used loads and loads of  photos, plus I was totally eagle obsessed as a child, and drew them all the time. <br />I found  some eagle wing and tail plans in a book so I made tham  first. Then I started at the beak and built through the face chest and legs&#133;only it wasn&#146;t quite that smoothe,  I had to remake alot of it as sometimes I only get my head around how a shape should be once ive done it all wrong first. <br /><br />The eyes are one of those stainless steel spheres that they use in garden water features that I chopped up and welded onto it<br /><br />Its got a wingspan of 235cm which is about as big as eagles come, though everyone who sees it says that it looks a bit larger than than life. <br /><br />My estimate on the time is about1000-1100 hours. <br /><br />I used Stainless rods that  are 2 &#150; 4mm diameter, so they bend by hand quite easily, and all  the joins are done with a mig welder which fuses the wires together.<br /><br />im trying to sell it for &#163;12,500 which covers the time and the materials etc<br /><br />I like how it looks outdoors, it hangs under a tree in the garden at the moment. First time I actually make some (even though ridiculous) benefits.         <media:copyright url="http://lluhnij.deviantart.com">Copyright 2008-2013 ~Lluhnij</media:copyright>            <media:description type="html"><![CDATA[ This is my entry for <a href="http://catharsisjb.deviantart.com/"><img class="avatar" src="http://a.deviantart.com/avatars/c/a/catharsisjb.gif" width="50" height="50" alt=":iconcatharsisjb:" title="catharsisjb"/></a>&#039;s contest (making a sculpture with polymer clay on the theme "Water Life").<br /><br />Please full view!<br /><br />I thought for a couple of days about the subject, and then got it: what could be better than a weird kind of salamander that spends its entire life cycle in water (instad of getting out of it as an adult), to represent the concept of "Water life"? <img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/a/aww.gif" width="15" height="15" alt=":aww:" title="Aww" /><br /><br />In facts, Axolotls keep for all their lives the external gills, that are typical of tadpoles.<br />There are also dark grey and brown axolotls, but the albino version in the most common among the "pets" of this species.<br /><br />Real axolotls have slightly smaller limbs, and are a bit more slender (not much, they still look pretty goofy), but having to make it with polymer clay made me go for a "baby-proportioned" one.<br /><br />It took a lot of work to make this one, I think something around 20 hours or so, but it was lots of fun...
