Practicing hand lettering, using a quote from one of my favorite songs by Poets of the Fall. I worked on this for days but I'm still not satisfied with it, something is off and I don't know what it is.

Colors were inspired by the music video; the texture is my own resources.

While I was waiting for some files to get transfered from the computer I doodled this "The Vines" logo-graffiti (I don't know exactly what it is ) on my sketchbook. I've been listening to The Vines a lot lately (especially when I was working on the post-production part of my film), and I just felt like drawing this .

I know it's not like the other stuff that I post, but I just thought I should put this up to show other things that I like to do besides dinos .

Edit: Just to clarify, no, I'm not a crazy grunge guy (not that there's anything wrong with that, honestly), I just love the aesthetics of graffiti and stylized typography .

This was a title to a rather old and long abandoned story that I made six or seven years ago, it wad inspired by some futuristic movies, stories and the news on tv. Sadly I threw out most of the story in the trash unknowingly during one o the many moves

Biut I still love the whimsical grungy font I made up when drawing it

Done in Illustrator using Livetrace and then manually ajusting the bezers to make it look more consistant. Eventually I'll make it into an accual font; when i go out and take 26 more letters so it'll be in smallcaps.
