I started it this morning or early afternoon, and finished CGing it a little while ago. I would have posted it sooner, but we just found out that one of our gerbils died. *sigh*

It was made using the Path Tool on Photoshop 7.0. No tablet, since Spikey won't let me use hers....

Greyscale Code:

Black - Cut out all the way
Dark Gray - Scrape away a lot to make a "shaded look"
Light Gray - Scrape away a little to make a "shaded look"
White - Leave it alone. It gets unhappy when it's messed with.


TO USE:

1. Print out picture in whatever size needed to fit your pumpkin.
2. Cut diaganally from each of the corners in as far as you dare to go.
3. Tape onto your pumpkin using whatever tape you see fit. (i.e. duct tape, scotch tape, masking tape, painter's tape..etc)
4. Using the poking tool(a tooth pick or something similar will work fine), bring poking holes all along the lines.
5. After poking along all the lines, remove the paper.
6. Using a small carving knife, cut away all of the black sections.
7. Using the scraping tool(found in pumpkin carving kits), scrape away a lot for all the dark gray areas, and only a little on the light gray areas.
8. Add a candle, step back, and enjoy!!

This is my first time making a pumpkin stencil, and I haven't tried it out yet, so if it doesn't work, don't blame me too much!!

For his mouth, if you don't want to cut out anything, you could just slide the knife to make a slit. I would cut out the fangs, though.

While decorating our work area, I was struck how drab it all looked. Our designs were mostly monochrome, and I had all these nice colored paper that was begging to be used. I searched DA for patterns or designs, and found this really cool pumpkin carved by B1nd1 (look for the DA titled "Pumpkin"). So I kinda adapted it for my work, and though it's not as cool, it does look nice.

Though if you can think of another category for this aside from collage, I'd appreciate it. I only used two sheets anyhow.

HISTORY


BIOGRAPHY: Estella was born to an average English family for the time on Bonfire Night/Guy Fawks day. She grew up in a loving, supportive environment, so when she discovered she was a witch at the age of 8, her parents were shocked, but at the same time thrilled. They believed it to be a glorious gift to have such a special daughter, and once she turned 11 and was invited to Hogwarts, her parents wasted no time in helping her try to get ready. They tried to stay involved in their daughter's life too, writing her once a week all throughout her school career even when she asked them to stop.

Throughout her stay at Hogwarts she found classes rather dull and boring. She did well in them and she tried hard, but she preferred more visual things than some of the assignments were, she still did them and turned them in though. Despite this she became a prefect because she had shown some level of maturity and dedication. At the same time, over the summers when she was at home, she took up violin lessons, it was something her parents could relate to, and something she herself quite enjoyed. When alone she still occassionally will play a tune.

After graduating Hogwarts she wasn't sure what she wanted to do, she tried holding muggle jobs but she didn't feel right doing them. 2 years later she heard of an opening working for the Daily Prophet, and it was a visual one, too. Naturally she was thrilled and went to seek the job right away, and somehow or another, she got it.

At some point during her job she did some research on a man named Vasoli Crucio, and from the research, develops a fascination with him. She is determined to meet this man. At first she only wanted a picture of him, but the more she read the more fixated she became until it developed into a full on obsession.

HISTORY


BIOGRAPHY: Estella was born to an average English family for the time on Bonfire Night/Guy Fawks day. She grew up in a loving, supportive environment, so when she discovered she was a witch at the age of 8, her parents were shocked, but at the same time thrilled. They believed it to be a glorious gift to have such a special daughter, and once she turned 11 and was invited to Hogwarts, her parents wasted no time in helping her try to get ready. They tried to stay involved in their daughter's life too, writing her once a week all throughout her school career even when she asked them to stop.

Throughout her stay at Hogwarts she found classes rather dull and boring. She did well in them and she tried hard, but she preferred more visual things than some of the assignments were, she still did them and turned them in though. Despite this she became a prefect because she had shown some level of maturity and dedication. At the same time, over the summers when she was at home, she took up violin lessons, it was something her parents could relate to, and something she herself quite enjoyed. When alone she still occassionally will play a tune.

After graduating Hogwarts she wasn't sure what she wanted to do, she tried holding muggle jobs but she didn't feel right doing them. 2 years later she heard of an opening working for the Daily Prophet, and it was a visual one, too. Naturally she was thrilled and went to seek the job right away, and somehow or another, she got it.

At some point during her job she did some research on a man named Vasoli Crucio, and from the research, develops a fascination with him. She is determined to meet this man. At first she only wanted a picture of him, but the more she read the more fixated she became until it developed into a full on obsession.
