*Lots of people were perhaps a bit offended by the notion that someone would make such a request of me. Please understand that no one asked me to change any of my drawings either generally or specifically, but they DID ask me to provide a way for them to see some of my art that is marked for mature content. Rather than rush my plans for an off-DA website or split my already heavily demanding computer time with a second art community, I opted to experiment with some of my already-posted drawings, like "Necklace." Drawing that bikini took me about an hour, and Photoshopping it in place took me another one, which means that in two hours I had an interesting alternative view of "Necklace." That's not to say that the original isn't worthy enough (I love it like it was my own child), but it is to say that I thought it might be fun to reinterpret the drawing and a few others in a way that could be enjoyed by those people who don't like the full-frontal nudity. Freya sneaks out of Asgard to ask them their price, but the only price they'll accept is sleeping with the goddess. So she makes a deal to sleep with each one of them in exchange for the necklace. Loki, the trickster god, followed Freya to the home of the dwarves and reports to Odin what he saw. Odin is angry and orders Loki to steal the necklace. When Freya confronts Odin about the stolen necklace, he tells her she has shamed the gods and the only way she can make it up to him is by stirring up a great war between men.

Freya is always mourning her lost husband Od and searching the nine worlds for him.

I had fun doing this picture! I'd like to do art for more mythological themes. I did this on December 3 with pencils, micron pens (02 and 05), and colored pencils.
