When she asked why he hated Gaia so much he was reluctant to go into any detail just said that he had lived in her kingdom for many a century until something happened the caused a rift between them eventually leading to them becoming enemies. Persephone also seemed a topic he did not want to discuss except for that she was Gaia's right hand and thus could not be trusted to tell Lacey the truth. Though he tried to hide it, she sensed an old and deep sadness when he spoke of her, as if there was history between the two. He did say there was more to her than she presents and that she was not always as she is now. Lacey didn't press him as again she sensed the sadness behind his words. Again, just before he called for a girl to take her to her quarters to rest as he could see how tired she was..and maybe a little drunk from the delicious wine they drank, he said she was welcome to stay if she chose too. She could give him an answer in the morning..for he feared it would not be too long before Persephone would arrive to take her to Gaia..by force if necessary.She had thanked him for his kindness and said she would let him know in the morning..but she could see in his eyes he already knew what it would be. What she truly didn't understand though, kind as he seemed and maybe the years truly had changed him, was why a God would go out of their way to protect her. Was it just as he said he just wished to protect those within his knew kingdom, or was there more to it than that. Did he know more than he was letting on about what Gaia was planning, what she intended to do to her and Brandon, or was it because he did not know and he feared what it might mean that drove him to try to keep her from going. Maybe all of the above..who knows. The one thing she did know though was that as long as Gaia had Brandon she could not stay.

 She got out of bed, reluctantly, and went to the portal and looked out at the glorious new day beautifully bathing the magnificence that was Thebes. Such a marvelous sight and creation..and such a long way down. She realised she must be near the summit of the golden towering pyramid and she felt a little faint and turned away. Not really afraid of heights..but after the experiences of her journey so far with high places..she did not wish to risk another fall. Third times a charm and all that shit. As she turned away she started as the girl that somehow with a wave of her hand changed the clothes she was wearing to meet Seth was now standing in the centre of her room.

" Damn girl you nearly scared the crap outta me.." Lacey laughed.


" My apologies milady." The beautiful girl bowed slightly. "It was not my intention. My Lord Seth has asked me to check on you and enquire if you would wish to join him on a tour of Thebes with him..before you give him your final decision. After breakfast of course." 

" Why that's very kind and I'd be delighted." Lacey said."I think I'll skip breakfast though..still full from all that wonderful food last night. Just let me get dressed..and..umm..where ??"



" Here milady.." The girl smiled and waved her hand " Jeans, T-shirt, leather jacket and boots and "underwear"?I hope it is too you're liking and exactly how you just pictured them in your mind." 


"How did you ..how do you do that?" Lacey asked dumbfounded looking down at what she was now wearing." And..what's your name?"


" My name is Kendra. As to what I do it is my gift and my role here..I provide clothes for all here in Thebes. Everyone has a gift individual and shares it's gains with all. As for how we do it..I think you would call it magick..yet we do it with sheer will alone. The mind is a powerful thing and coupled with strong will can bring about wonderful things and effect the physical world if one knows how to use the gift properly. Words, thoughts, the mind have such untapped power..most people dismiss them as just words thoughts and fantasies..if only they knew as we do here just how truly those thoughts words and dreams effect reality around them..and what they create beyond those realities." She smiled at Lacey's still half-asleep face and expression of "huh?". "Come milady, Lord Seth will be wondering where we are. He's waiting  by the courtyard."

" Okay..and please call me Lacey"  " As you wish milady." Kendra smiled and exited into the corridoor making Lacey run after her .Damn that girl moves fast. They were soon walking  through the corridoor lined with tapestries and finery that Lacey entered through the night before and approached the two Cobra headed guards. As they passed them Lacey couldn't resist swatting the one that hurried her along on its butt as she passed. It looked down at her in shock and she laughed and ran down to where she could see Seth.

" You should not tease them young Lacey..their hands are larger and harder than yours and they never forget a face or challenge." Seth said to her, half in amusement and half in warning." Don't worry, I shall make sure the guard is changed before we return."

" Thanks..his claws do look pretty sharp." she said not feeling as cheeky as a few minutes ago.

" Indeed they are. But let it not worry you you will not feel their steel." He took her hand ."Now, I invited you for a tour of my fair city, shall we begin?" "Lets" she smiled. They walked for what seemed for hours, through the beautiful streets and gardens, studying the ornate and incredible architecture, marveling at the art and crafts of the people, and the wildlife gathering around the pools and roaming near the magnificent flowing river that was The Nile..which sadly no longer existed on Earth.The grande expanse of sand and beautiful sun lit sky was that like unimagined paradise to her. It truly was an incredible place of dreams. One thing struck her as odd though..except for Seth, Kendra and the two Cobra guards..she saw not one other of the people that supposedly lived here.

" Where is everyone?" She asked. " I expected the city , especially on such a beautiful day like today, to be a hive of activity."
" Most days it would be young Lacey but today I asked everyone to stay inside, and below, just in case." He replied a little cautiously.

" In case of what?" She asked..then regretted as it was truly obvious." You mean in case Persephone shows don't you? Surely though she would not pose a great threat to you and your people..especially if only coming to pick me up."

" I'm afraid you underestimate her and her way of doing things, and also.. the ill feeling between our peoples. She would know we have spoken, she would know I would have tried to persuade you to stay, and she would know I would protect you if you decided to do just that." He stopped walking and looked down into her eyes."She will not come here peacefully I'm afraid and definitely not alone ..as undoubtedly you will see..before you are either taken or Chyanne or myself can get you to safety till the battle is over."

" Battle?" Lacey was horrified. " Seth..no. Please, promise me you won't put either yourself nor any of your people in harms way just to protect me. Please..there is no need.I will leave with her freely. There will be no reason for her to attack you or anybody else."

" Lacey..truly you do not understand. Persephone will not give us..or you..a choice.She will appear and then she and her forces will attack. That, sadly, is her way." He looked out to the horizon then back at her. " All this you see around us has been built and rebuilt so many times..and all because of her.It is the reason why, except for my Pyramid, most of my people live in a city that exists under our very feet. True they do get to enjoy the world I create and recreate here, but sadly as history has dictated, they can no longer live in guaranteed safety above ground because of the attacks of Gaia and Persephone's forces.So on days like today the await below and ready our defences..where we stand now merely just a front , a tactical disguise."

" But why?" Lacey asked truly not understanding. " Why do they attack so often? Surely not just to reclaim people that like me find their way to you instead of her? Surely they must have a reason?"

" Gaia fears us..fears me..though she'd never admit it..just spew some fanciful propaganda about my spreading mistrust ,doubt, anarchy amongst her people so they turn against her and join me in some sort of uprising to destroy her kingdom or take it for myself. Though I despise her that is not my intention at all. Truth is, she is weakening, and feeding off of her own people and destroying her own kingdom herself..and fears that as more and more people escape or find their way here instead of going to her..that one day I may be truly powerful enough to free her subjects and expose her for the liar, succubus..parasite she truly is." " So how do Brandon and I fit in? How on Earth does she think we can save her and her kingdom?" Lacey asked.

" I'm not sure I can answer that Lacey , though I think you may have a better understanding if you think of what Persephone has told you then read between the lines.She has already spoken of the power of the bond between mother and child..the exact pretense in which Gaia imagines exists between herself and her subjects, and from which she believes she draws her power from.At the terrible least, I believe she intends to drain you both of your power as mother and son..drain you of your life essense to power her own."

" Christ..but even if thats true..she has Brandon.How can I not go to her..I can't just abandon him."

" We would find a way to rescue him. She cannot harm him for to do so would mean the loss of the chance to regain her power. If you don't go to her she also cannot use you and your bond with Brandon.If you do go..at the very least..she will drain the both of you..or worse.Without knowing her true plan we can only speculate..either way I beseech you to reconsider your decision to leave with Persephone..stay here.Let us protect you, and for all we know protect ourselves too, until at least we know more and can figure a way to get Brandon back safely."

" I..I truly don't know Seth. What if I'm putting Brandon at risk right now by not being with him. He is the original "Chosen" after all..I was an after thought to  aid him. What if..?" Lacey's thoughts and questions were cut off abruptly as the idylic blue skies tore apart and thunder deafened them both. She watched in awe and fear as black storm clouds rolled across and darkened the skies blocking out the sun and blue and crimson lightning lanced out in all directions scorching the land and structures around. Then as if something like from a biblical tale a magnificent yet oppressive vessel appeared from what seemed to be the eye of the storm. A massive ship, a Galleon she believed it was called from pre cataclysum ancient Earth history, beautiful in it's reds and golds and black, riding on a sea of fire, and soul wrenching cries of it's crew. She saw the statue mounted on it's juggernaut facade of a proud warrior like angel with six wings..then covered her ears as screeching filled them as from the deck winged beings in their hundreds flew out and up then angled down towards the city bringing their strange various weapons to bear down upon it. Then they fired. Explosions ripped through both sand and buildings alike, both surrounding and within the vast city's borders, apocalyptic in both sight and sound.

Seth looked into her terrified face his eyes saying to her "Do you see? Do you see what they are truly like?" She nodded and he picked her up and turned towards his palace..his pyramid..only to see another craft hovering above it..though not a ship like the one behind them..a dimensional craft..to Lacey's astonished eyes just like the long haul craft the Dimensional Marine Corps of her time used to explore and travel through dimensional corridoors and worm holes.The warriors that spewed forth from it and now attacked the palace however were the same. They were cut off.Seth then turned and ducked into an alcove that for the moment offered cover and hid them mostly from sight. He lent in close to her right ear and spoke quickly.

" We are cut off from my palace and even though there are entrances located that may lead us to the safety of the underground city, we cannot risk being spotted by using them as they will surely follow and eventually break through and my people will be exposed and I cannot defend them all.Though they are powerful in will they must be allowed to concentrate to use their power..if we inadvertantly lead Persephones forces to them they will be unable to defend themselves.Right now they are just about ready to launch a counterstrike..I can feel it..and they will defend our city fiercely as you will see momentarily..but we can't risk exposing them..their only defense whilst concentrating is the fact that only we know of the existence of the underground city.So for now it is up to me to see you to safety..and there is only one possible way to do that..only one possible place left to go though it may turn out to be just as dangerous for though it's entrance is fixed..where we end up is not."

" If it is the only chance we have..then.." Lacey started but was shushed by Seth.

" There is more to say yet Lacey before you agree. It is the only chance yes..though we could survive by running fighting and hiding within the city here..but I would not like to risk it. It does fare us better though to use this last resort as only one of our attackers could follow us and by herself I am more than a match for Persephone..though she has yet to show herself.She is the only one with the power and ability to do what must be done to follow us.Therein lies the catch, and why it is such a last resort, because it comes with a price and a painful one at that."

" What is it Seth? Please..just come straight out and tell me before the point becomes null and void and those arch angels or whatever the fuck they are blow us to hell and back!!" Lacey slipped back into her less than lady like old ways as fresh explosions erupted mere feet away.Seth couldn't help but smile then continued as if he didn't notice.


" The price is we have to alter our genetic make-up to enter and exist in this place..as it exists on another plane of existence...like Persephone and her Wraith did to enter yours.The pain is exruciating though I should be able to sheild you from it's full impact and you will survive it..however the true price is..when the time comes once we find a way back to another door leading to this reality we may not be able to change back.The longer it takes us to find the door back, as I said before the door stays fixed but where we end up blindly entering as we are is anyones guess, the more permanent our change becomes and the greater chance I may lose my ability and power to change us back."

" Where is it we have to go.." Lacey asked

" Beyond the Veil..." Seth held her closer to him as an explosion erupted a little too close for his liking." We have no more time for talking Lacey..lets just say it's another plane of existence like none you've ever been to before..a whole new dimensional universe full of thousands of random possibilities and lifeforms."

"  You mean like leaving my own world and crossing through numerous dimensional walls and worlds and coming here..in a new body?" Lacey asked..with just a tinge of sarcasm.

" Well..yes." Seth answered a little sheepishly.

" Been there..done that..lets go already." She went to stand but a new sound distracted her.She turned to look back towards the Galleon and her eyes widened in disbelief. " Seth..is that..??"

" Persephone ?..Yes it is. She certainly knows how to make an entrance doesn't she ? " " No shit.." Lacy said not really listening eyes glued to the sight unfolding before her.  Racing forward just over the heads  of the teeming army of her winged warriors flew a what Lacey could only imagine what a goddess would look like. Black clouds billowing beneath and before her, erupting with emerald fire, aboard a ornate and armoured chariot of midnight blue and crimson drawn by a team of twenty harnessed howling drooling jackyl's..Persephone indeed knew how to make an entrance..and her appearance like Lacey had never seen her before. A headress beautifully adorned with jewels,crosses and sigils and runes, with a centrepiece of a female figure with six outstretched wings. Her waist length mane of strawberry blonde hair beaded and jewelled flying dramatically and beautifully behind her. Her face gorgeous, eyes sapphire blue lips full and fire red..nose cute as..too bad she was screaming and snarling. Dressed in of course full armour shaped to form, crimson and black, and beautifully inscribed with sigils and runes,and from belts and sheath's hung many numerous insidious looking weapons..on her left forearm a truly wickedly spiked and razored guantlet. Though not all was cold metal and leather,draped down in front of her abdomen like a loin cloth was a beautiful crimson ,yellow and blue silk cloth that was patterned with more sigils,symbols and runes, filigree and jewels. In it's centre as Seth would mention as well as beneath the six winged figure on her headress was the crest of Gaia. Draping in the same way but flowing and fanning out like a magnificent bridal train behind was what appeared to be truly beautiful peacock feathers. Truly she was a sight to behold. In certain adult oriented districts back on Earth a girl dressed like this would be viewed as a sluttly heavy metal, goth,dominatrix princess wannabe..but somehow Persephone pulls it off looking like a stunning angelic vision of Death..the bitch.Totally mesmerised by her vision she didn't hear Seth yelling to her, but when he shook her she felt it for sure, she snapped out of her reverie and looked at him.

 " We have to go now before she spots us  Lacey.My people are ready to launch a counter strike under the cover of which we'll make our move..but we must move quickly." He said looking at her but looking at where Persephone was every other second." Are you ready ?"

" Yes..I think so..sorry. She's just so.."

" Yes she is..and like the Sun young Lacey..one should not stare too long.Now get ready to run and don't let go of my hand."

" Okay." She smiled. Then the world erupted around her again..this time from behind then above them and the city..as Seth's defenders exploded into action. Giants leapt, ran and roared around them...scarabs and sphynx's and dogs, big cats, snakes and eagles smashed into the attacking forces unleashing fire and sand, and brutal strength. Then at the Pyramid ,thousands of soldiers looking a lot like Seth's two Cobra headed guards, fought both inside and out to repell Persephone's hordes.To Lacey it was the most apocalyptic scene she'd ever seen..then she was running for her life as weird as it was and for what it was worth. They ran through the twisting streets and alleys as all around them monsters crashed, angels screamed, and building and land alike exploded and the sky ignited with fire. Both she and Seth could hear their names called in Persephone's furious yet cold voice.Within minutes they came upon an arch covered in heiroglyphics from which Seth read aloud certain passages. Then simultaneously a thunderous crack exploded from the arch and a shimmering darkness filled it like an open door.Seth yelled to her above the din "Are you sure ?" as a deathly chilling voice screamed "No !!!" from above and just behind them.Lacey nodded to Seth then confirmed by looking back and up what she already knew..Persephone had found them. She saw Persephone leap from her chariot releasing the jackyls at the same time..just as she felt herself lifted then falling forward...then the most excruciating pain she'd ever felt..then nothing. She awoke in the arms of Seth running through what seemed to be a tropical jungle. Lush and beautiful and very humid. She could hear something crashing through the trees behind them and knew it had to be Persephone and her hellish pets. Running, leaping and jumping, so agile and strong Seth was just managing to stay ahead of them even whilst carrying her dead weight.

" Put me down Seth..I'm slowing you down." She said a little quiet and drowsily.

" No time young Lacey..and you are not hindering me in the slightest.Just  let me concentrate on finding a place to protect and shelter us..then we can talk." With that he just kept running, dodging and weaving his way through the beautiful yet alien world they now found themselves lost in, with unknown dangers around them, and the relentless sound of the known danger behind them. Persephone crying out to both of them from time to time in a vain effort to get them to surrender. A few native animals spooked by the chase fell victim to the jaws of her pets as they crossed their path, their screams haunting and painful to Lacey's ears. So it went for what seemed like hours until finally, and maybe unfortunately the trees parted and a small clearing around a vine embraced large stone temple seeming growing out of a cliff wall, came into view. Large wasn't exactly the right word..the temple was huge on closer inspection..it's higher levels just hidden and overgrown by trees and foliage and half in darkness from the jungles ancient canopy through which only sparse rays of light made their way through. As Seth ran towards it across the clearing it became apparent that it was not dirt under the puddles of water, mud, and grass and weeds..it was stone. A courtyard, overgrown by the jungle, either by neglect or by design. There was a fountain, covered in moss and filled with foul water. There were statues of big cats , and cat people..feline heads and human like bodies... and urns and vases and benches spread around.  As they approached the stairs, massive ..almost six feet wide and four feet high each ascending block, that lead up to the entrance she could see tribal paintings mixed with heiroglyphics..again with the Egyptian stuff she thought..and strange icons and symbols on the stairs and walls. Two statues ten to twelve feet high stood on either side of the entrance. One an angelic figure with a metallic halo round a haunting blank face, massive wings stretched behind her and flowing hair of fire brandishing an absolutely viscious looking axe. On the other side a demonic looking creature with massive horns, the head of a bull, body of a man, an massive leathery black wings holding a trident. The two figures facing each other as if in an eternal stand off and at the same time as if appearing to maintain a balance and peace. " Seth..stop where you are and release the human to me!!" ordered Persephone as she and her Jackyls swarmed our and across the courtyard racing towards the stairs. Seth ignored her as he had been all along.

" Fine..die then. I shall enjoy tearing your withered flesh from your wretched bones." Persephone hissed..yet even to Lacey it sounded a little hollow..as if Persephone didn't believe she could actually do it herself. Though it didn't mean she wouldn't give it the old college try. The Jackyls flew up the stairs then. Seth turned lowering Lacey to the ground behind him and faced them. Then as the beasts stood at the top snarling at them..tensing, ready to strike..a voice spoke behind them.

" Enter weary travellers..our Lady awaits thee..we will deal with these beasts. No evil shall enter her home." A deep male voice. They turned and saw the bull like statue looking down at them the angel already striding past them..both no longer statues but in all terrifying glory very much alive.She was beautiful, yet terrifying to watch as she both cleaved with her axe and set ablaze with her wings and hair the Jackyls  killing them instantly or sending them hurtling back down the stairs past the now hesitant Persephone. Seth took Lacey's hand and they walked inside and through winding corridoors adorned with art and murals. Lacey felt a little de ja vu ..but who was she to complain. They were safe..weren't they.

" Seth..do you know anything about where we are? Who lives here ? "  Lacey asked whilst looking around the torch lit interior. " I mean the statues and heiroglyphs..do they give you a clue ?"


" I've been behind the Veil only twice before Lacey..and never here. So I do not know where we are, however, the things you mention do give me a clue as to who this temples occupant may be. The temple mat appear Mayan in design ..but the histories and art are definitely Egyptian."

" Is that a good thing ?" Lacey asked quietly as their voices seemed to carry and echo.

" Maybe..maybe not..I wasn't always popular " He half smiled at her.

" Oh great..lets just hope this one likes you."

" Indeed.." Seth said as if trying to reassure himself. They walked into a dim torch lit hall, a small  pool in it's centre circular in shape, near naked humans..designs of a tribal origin and culture tattooed on their lithe bodies..lounged around the floor or busied themselves with chores. Towards the end of the hall on a bed of rugs and silk pillows lay a figure being pampered ,fed and bathed by more of the tribal people..some licking them like a cat cleans itself..others merely caressing. As they approached cautiously the servants, for thats what hey appeared to Lacey to be, stopped what they were doing and stood behind and to the side of the lazing figure. Protective yet non obstructing to their master's view.

 The figure stood up pulling a silken robe around herself  with grace and seemingly not a care in the world. She turned with a feline sway and looked upon them with a mischievious glint in her eyes. Lacey gasped, not in fear, but in amazement at the beauty stood in front of her. A being possessing not only a perfect human female body..in Lacey's opinion that is..but the head of a beautiful white cat. It..she smiled in amusement at Lacey's reaction..then spoke in the most alluring and lyrical of voices. Sexual, strong and assured. " My my..time hasn't treated you so well has it Seth." " No Bastet..I'm afraid it hasn't." He replied deliberately ignoring the intended slight. " You on the other hand look as beautiful as ever." " Why thank you my dear. See..I knew deep down you weren't as bad as the others say." She smiled devilishly." I always liked you better than Osiris anyways."


" Bastet.." Seth started.


" Now now..don't get worked up..just teasing..wouldn't want you to get wrinkles now would we? " She laughed and he just shook his head mumbling she was as impossible as ever.

" Now .." She continued as she patted Seth's shoulder and sauntered up to Lacey." tell me sweet child by the power of Ra how did such a beautiful little thing like you end up with a craggy old fossel like this one." She  stroked Lacey's hair and before Lacey could answer put a long manicured and jewelled nail to Lacey's lips and said. " Oh..nevermind, my answer has just been escorted in. Should have known it would be something to do with good old mumsy Gaia." Seth and Lacey turned and saw Persephone being escorted but not restrained by the two "statues". Lacey turned to the "angel" and confronted her.


" I thought you said you weren't to allow evil in here?"

" That is correct " The Angel with no face replied a little confused by this creatures obvious ire. " I have not done so either." " You decimated her creatures yes..but..but you let her in!!" Lacey felt all eyes on her but she didn't care. " She is evil." " No she isn't..she has done wrong assuredly..but she is not evil." The Angel spoke gently and calmly..and next with a sadness and compassion in her tone." She cannot be evil for she has been deprived of her true self. She is a lost soul..used and deceived by a true evil. She is a victim yet she is unable to see through no fault of her own."

" How dare you speak of me in this way." Persephone swung round and slapped the Angel across it's blank face.It's wings stretched and it's fiery hair blazed brighter in a warning. Bastet stepped in between them.

" Let it go Lucifer..as you said she is a lost soul. Her actions are merely ones of denial and delusion." Lucifer stood down but still looked directly at Persephone with an air of warning." Now Nepthrys dear.. that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. I'm sure your husband Seth would agree..it's very unbecoming."

" You..are..you're Persephones husband ?" Lacey turned to Seth in disbelief.

" A long time ago Lacey..she was a different person..literally..back then." He had a sadness in his voice that made Lacey's ire turn to sympathy.He obviously loved her.

" That's a lie !!" Persephone looked daggers at Seth then sternly at Lacey." Do not fall prey to the insanity of these false gods Lacey. Think of your son..let us leave this place and go to him. Go to Gaia."

" Oh sweet sweet tragic child..that hag you call Gaia truly has done a number on you hasn't she? " Bastet sauntered around her.

" Why you lying..evil.." Persephone started...but stopped when both Lucifer and the bull, named Taurus, restrained her.

" Hush now chile..ignorance is only tolerated as an excuse for rudeness for only so long." Bastet eyed her up and down till she was sure she was calm enough." Now..though you don't remember your past life as Seth's..or should I say one of..Seth's wives..that too was and isn't truly who and what you are my beautiful clueless fallen one." " Enlighten me then." Persephone glowered.

" I shouldn't have too." Bastet smiled again with mischief in her eyes." Though I may despise the old whore I must give Gaia points for devilish cruelty. To wipe out knowledge of who you are to serve her purposes is one thing..but to cruelly rub it in your face by mounting it on your headress and warrior's crest is truly nasty." She looked at Persephone and saw no inkling of what she was saying was getting through. She sighed and turned to Seth and asked..

" Was she this stupid when she was married to you?" She turned back to Persephone. " My dear it's plastered on that gorgeous head of yours..you were..and always have been a Seraphim. You are an Angel you stupid cow..remember!!" "Lies..all lies!!! " Persephone cried in sheer denial." I shall release you to fly back home to your mummy..pathetic succubus withered old hag that she is..but you shall not drag this poor chile with you.Oh..and one more thing..if you ever..ever!!!..bring dogs..hellhounds or otherwise into my kingdom ever again..I shall tear you apart and eat you as you gasp your final pathetic lost breath. " Yes..though understand this I will be back and I will be back for her." She  snarled. " You can guarantee what I bring with me will be far worse than mere Jackyls."

" Bored now..get her out of here Lucifer." Bastet strode back to her bed.

" Lacey..listen to me.." Persephone pleaded as she struggled to stop being dragged from the room." Do not listen to her..she lies..she will trick and betray you. It's not to late to choose to come with me of you're own will..Seth won't stop you..he may be my enemy but I know he is a man of his word. He will not stop you and will not let...that..stop you either. Please..think of Brandon..your son needs you." " Her son..?" Bastet  faced Persephone standing once more from her bed." Why would she need to go with you to see her son ? " " He is with Gaia for he is the "Chosen" one.

 " It's true Bastet.." Seth said. " From what Lacey tells me it was Persephone herself that took them both from their reality." " I know she did Seth..or that's what Lacey believes..yet who told her what  happened. Little miss deluded over there..barking like the rabid dogs she sullied my kingdom with."

 "I was there you know.." Lacey turned on Bastet. " Oh yes sweety I know..and yes what the little fallen Angel over there did to you and all those people did happen as you say.Yes she did get that filthy wraith to murder you and yes you left through the window in your son's mind and soul found by The Herald.What she didn't tell you..and what she probably don't know herself..is that your son did not die with you in that room..his soul did not come with you to Gaia's little world. That little boy in that monolith body was not your son..but a facsimile of him..that your traumatised mind wanted to believe was your son to make you feel better."

" But I.." Lacey started..

" Don't listen to her Lacey..she's a filthy heathen liar !!!" Persephone cried out.

"  You felt his heart..his soul touching yours..yes you did." Bastet continued." But it wasn't because he was there with you..it was because he loves you and needs you and your bond is strong..he's newborn for Ra's sake.When they took you..you left the way they came in..through your "living" son's mind and soul. Did it never occur to you that he would have to be "alive" to exit the same way?" Bastet walked over and put her arm around Lacey." Poor chile..you were confused I know..but you left your newborn alone and by Ra alive on that hospital floor screaming for his momma. It wasn't your fault..dead and all..but he was still alive..and still is. That's why you can feel your bond..even here..especially here am I right?"

" Well yes..but.."

" No buts chile..you feel it cause he is here chile." Bastet  clicked her fingers and from another room a servant brought in a human baby boy..mere a week old at the most." Lacey..I give you your son, safe and sound, and very much alive. I give you Brandon. TO BE CONTINUED.......

When she asked why he hated Gaia so much he was reluctant to go into any detail just said that he had lived in her kingdom for many a century until something happened the caused a rift between them eventually leading to them becoming enemies. Persephone also seemed a topic he did not want to discuss except for that she was Gaia's right hand and thus could not be trusted to tell Lacey the truth. Though he tried to hide it, she sensed an old and deep sadness when he spoke of her, as if there was history between the two. He did say there was more to her than she presents and that she was not always as she is now. Lacey didn't press him as again she sensed the sadness behind his words. Again, just before he called for a girl to take her to her quarters to rest as he could see how tired she was..and maybe a little drunk from the delicious wine they drank, he said she was welcome to stay if she chose too. She could give him an answer in the morning..for he feared it would not be too long before Persephone would arrive to take her to Gaia..by force if necessary.She had thanked him for his kindness and said she would let him know in the morning..but she could see in his eyes he already knew what it would be. What she truly didn't understand though, kind as he seemed and maybe the years truly had changed him, was why a God would go out of their way to protect her. Was it just as he said he just wished to protect those within his knew kingdom, or was there more to it than that. Did he know more than he was letting on about what Gaia was planning, what she intended to do to her and Brandon, or was it because he did not know and he feared what it might mean that drove him to try to keep her from going. Maybe all of the above..who knows. The one thing she did know though was that as long as Gaia had Brandon she could not stay.

 She got out of bed, reluctantly, and went to the portal and looked out at the glorious new day beautifully bathing the magnificence that was Thebes. Such a marvelous sight and creation..and such a long way down. She realised she must be near the summit of the golden towering pyramid and she felt a little faint and turned away. Not really afraid of heights..but after the experiences of her journey so far with high places..she did not wish to risk another fall. Third times a charm and all that shit. As she turned away she started as the girl that somehow with a wave of her hand changed the clothes she was wearing to meet Seth was now standing in the centre of her room.

" Damn girl you nearly scared the crap outta me.." Lacey laughed.


" My apologies milady." The beautiful girl bowed slightly. "It was not my intention. My Lord Seth has asked me to check on you and enquire if you would wish to join him on a tour of Thebes with him..before you give him your final decision. After breakfast of course." 

" Why that's very kind and I'd be delighted." Lacey said."I think I'll skip breakfast though..still full from all that wonderful food last night. Just let me get dressed..and..umm..where ??"



" Here milady.." The girl smiled and waved her hand " Jeans, T-shirt, leather jacket and boots and "underwear"?I hope it is too you're liking and exactly how you just pictured them in your mind." 


"How did you ..how do you do that?" Lacey asked dumbfounded looking down at what she was now wearing." And..what's your name?"


" My name is Kendra. As to what I do it is my gift and my role here..I provide clothes for all here in Thebes. Everyone has a gift individual and shares it's gains with all. As for how we do it..I think you would call it magick..yet we do it with sheer will alone. The mind is a powerful thing and coupled with strong will can bring about wonderful things and effect the physical world if one knows how to use the gift properly. Words, thoughts, the mind have such untapped power..most people dismiss them as just words thoughts and fantasies..if only they knew as we do here just how truly those thoughts words and dreams effect reality around them..and what they create beyond those realities." She smiled at Lacey's still half-asleep face and expression of "huh?". "Come milady, Lord Seth will be wondering where we are. He's waiting  by the courtyard."

" Okay..and please call me Lacey"  " As you wish milady." Kendra smiled and exited into the corridoor making Lacey run after her .Damn that girl moves fast. They were soon walking  through the corridoor lined with tapestries and finery that Lacey entered through the night before and approached the two Cobra headed guards. As they passed them Lacey couldn't resist swatting the one that hurried her along on its butt as she passed. It looked down at her in shock and she laughed and ran down to where she could see Seth.

" You should not tease them young Lacey..their hands are larger and harder than yours and they never forget a face or challenge." Seth said to her, half in amusement and half in warning." Don't worry, I shall make sure the guard is changed before we return."

" Thanks..his claws do look pretty sharp." she said not feeling as cheeky as a few minutes ago.

" Indeed they are. But let it not worry you you will not feel their steel." He took her hand ."Now, I invited you for a tour of my fair city, shall we begin?" "Lets" she smiled. They walked for what seemed for hours, through the beautiful streets and gardens, studying the ornate and incredible architecture, marveling at the art and crafts of the people, and the wildlife gathering around the pools and roaming near the magnificent flowing river that was The Nile..which sadly no longer existed on Earth.The grande expanse of sand and beautiful sun lit sky was that like unimagined paradise to her. It truly was an incredible place of dreams. One thing struck her as odd though..except for Seth, Kendra and the two Cobra guards..she saw not one other of the people that supposedly lived here.

" Where is everyone?" She asked. " I expected the city , especially on such a beautiful day like today, to be a hive of activity."
" Most days it would be young Lacey but today I asked everyone to stay inside, and below, just in case." He replied a little cautiously.

" In case of what?" She asked..then regretted as it was truly obvious." You mean in case Persephone shows don't you? Surely though she would not pose a great threat to you and your people..especially if only coming to pick me up."

" I'm afraid you underestimate her and her way of doing things, and also.. the ill feeling between our peoples. She would know we have spoken, she would know I would have tried to persuade you to stay, and she would know I would protect you if you decided to do just that." He stopped walking and looked down into her eyes."She will not come here peacefully I'm afraid and definitely not alone ..as undoubtedly you will see..before you are either taken or Chyanne or myself can get you to safety till the battle is over."

" Battle?" Lacey was horrified. " Seth..no. Please, promise me you won't put either yourself nor any of your people in harms way just to protect me. Please..there is no need.I will leave with her freely. There will be no reason for her to attack you or anybody else."

" Lacey..truly you do not understand. Persephone will not give us..or you..a choice.She will appear and then she and her forces will attack. That, sadly, is her way." He looked out to the horizon then back at her. " All this you see around us has been built and rebuilt so many times..and all because of her.It is the reason why, except for my Pyramid, most of my people live in a city that exists under our very feet. True they do get to enjoy the world I create and recreate here, but sadly as history has dictated, they can no longer live in guaranteed safety above ground because of the attacks of Gaia and Persephone's forces.So on days like today the await below and ready our defences..where we stand now merely just a front , a tactical disguise."

" But why?" Lacey asked truly not understanding. " Why do they attack so often? Surely not just to reclaim people that like me find their way to you instead of her? Surely they must have a reason?"

" Gaia fears us..fears me..though she'd never admit it..just spew some fanciful propaganda about my spreading mistrust ,doubt, anarchy amongst her people so they turn against her and join me in some sort of uprising to destroy her kingdom or take it for myself. Though I despise her that is not my intention at all. Truth is, she is weakening, and feeding off of her own people and destroying her own kingdom herself..and fears that as more and more people escape or find their way here instead of going to her..that one day I may be truly powerful enough to free her subjects and expose her for the liar, succubus..parasite she truly is." " So how do Brandon and I fit in? How on Earth does she think we can save her and her kingdom?" Lacey asked.

" I'm not sure I can answer that Lacey , though I think you may have a better understanding if you think of what Persephone has told you then read between the lines.She has already spoken of the power of the bond between mother and child..the exact pretense in which Gaia imagines exists between herself and her subjects, and from which she believes she draws her power from.At the terrible least, I believe she intends to drain you both of your power as mother and son..drain you of your life essense to power her own."

" Christ..but even if thats true..she has Brandon.How can I not go to her..I can't just abandon him."

" We would find a way to rescue him. She cannot harm him for to do so would mean the loss of the chance to regain her power. If you don't go to her she also cannot use you and your bond with Brandon.If you do go..at the very least..she will drain the both of you..or worse.Without knowing her true plan we can only speculate..either way I beseech you to reconsider your decision to leave with Persephone..stay here.Let us protect you, and for all we know protect ourselves too, until at least we know more and can figure a way to get Brandon back safely."

" I..I truly don't know Seth. What if I'm putting Brandon at risk right now by not being with him. He is the original "Chosen" after all..I was an after thought to  aid him. What if..?" Lacey's thoughts and questions were cut off abruptly as the idylic blue skies tore apart and thunder deafened them both. She watched in awe and fear as black storm clouds rolled across and darkened the skies blocking out the sun and blue and crimson lightning lanced out in all directions scorching the land and structures around. Then as if something like from a biblical tale a magnificent yet oppressive vessel appeared from what seemed to be the eye of the storm. A massive ship, a Galleon she believed it was called from pre cataclysum ancient Earth history, beautiful in it's reds and golds and black, riding on a sea of fire, and soul wrenching cries of it's crew. She saw the statue mounted on it's juggernaut facade of a proud warrior like angel with six wings..then covered her ears as screeching filled them as from the deck winged beings in their hundreds flew out and up then angled down towards the city bringing their strange various weapons to bear down upon it. Then they fired. Explosions ripped through both sand and buildings alike, both surrounding and within the vast city's borders, apocalyptic in both sight and sound.

Seth looked into her terrified face his eyes saying to her "Do you see? Do you see what they are truly like?" She nodded and he picked her up and turned towards his palace..his pyramid..only to see another craft hovering above it..though not a ship like the one behind them..a dimensional craft..to Lacey's astonished eyes just like the long haul craft the Dimensional Marine Corps of her time used to explore and travel through dimensional corridoors and worm holes.The warriors that spewed forth from it and now attacked the palace however were the same. They were cut off.Seth then turned and ducked into an alcove that for the moment offered cover and hid them mostly from sight. He lent in close to her right ear and spoke quickly.

" We are cut off from my palace and even though there are entrances located that may lead us to the safety of the underground city, we cannot risk being spotted by using them as they will surely follow and eventually break through and my people will be exposed and I cannot defend them all.Though they are powerful in will they must be allowed to concentrate to use their power..if we inadvertantly lead Persephones forces to them they will be unable to defend themselves.Right now they are just about ready to launch a counterstrike..I can feel it..and they will defend our city fiercely as you will see momentarily..but we can't risk exposing them..their only defense whilst concentrating is the fact that only we know of the existence of the underground city.So for now it is up to me to see you to safety..and there is only one possible way to do that..only one possible place left to go though it may turn out to be just as dangerous for though it's entrance is fixed..where we end up is not."

" If it is the only chance we have..then.." Lacey started but was shushed by Seth.

" There is more to say yet Lacey before you agree. It is the only chance yes..though we could survive by running fighting and hiding within the city here..but I would not like to risk it. It does fare us better though to use this last resort as only one of our attackers could follow us and by herself I am more than a match for Persephone..though she has yet to show herself.She is the only one with the power and ability to do what must be done to follow us.Therein lies the catch, and why it is such a last resort, because it comes with a price and a painful one at that."

" What is it Seth? Please..just come straight out and tell me before the point becomes null and void and those arch angels or whatever the fuck they are blow us to hell and back!!" Lacey slipped back into her less than lady like old ways as fresh explosions erupted mere feet away.Seth couldn't help but smile then continued as if he didn't notice.


" The price is we have to alter our genetic make-up to enter and exist in this place..as it exists on another plane of existence...like Persephone and her Wraith did to enter yours.The pain is exruciating though I should be able to sheild you from it's full impact and you will survive it..however the true price is..when the time comes once we find a way back to another door leading to this reality we may not be able to change back.The longer it takes us to find the door back, as I said before the door stays fixed but where we end up blindly entering as we are is anyones guess, the more permanent our change becomes and the greater chance I may lose my ability and power to change us back."

" Where is it we have to go.." Lacey asked

" Beyond the Veil..." Seth held her closer to him as an explosion erupted a little too close for his liking." We have no more time for talking Lacey..lets just say it's another plane of existence like none you've ever been to before..a whole new dimensional universe full of thousands of random possibilities and lifeforms."

"  You mean like leaving my own world and crossing through numerous dimensional walls and worlds and coming here..in a new body?" Lacey asked..with just a tinge of sarcasm.

" Well..yes." Seth answered a little sheepishly.

" Been there..done that..lets go already." She went to stand but a new sound distracted her.She turned to look back towards the Galleon and her eyes widened in disbelief. " Seth..is that..??"

" Persephone ?..Yes it is. She certainly knows how to make an entrance doesn't she ? " " No shit.." Lacy said not really listening eyes glued to the sight unfolding before her.  Racing forward just over the heads  of the teeming army of her winged warriors flew a what Lacey could only imagine what a goddess would look like. Black clouds billowing beneath and before her, erupting with emerald fire, aboard a ornate and armoured chariot of midnight blue and crimson drawn by a team of twenty harnessed howling drooling jackyl's..Persephone indeed knew how to make an entrance..and her appearance like Lacey had never seen her before. A headress beautifully adorned with jewels,crosses and sigils and runes, with a centrepiece of a female figure with six outstretched wings. Her waist length mane of strawberry blonde hair beaded and jewelled flying dramatically and beautifully behind her. Her face gorgeous, eyes sapphire blue lips full and fire red..nose cute as..too bad she was screaming and snarling. Dressed in of course full armour shaped to form, crimson and black, and beautifully inscribed with sigils and runes,and from belts and sheath's hung many numerous insidious looking weapons..on her left forearm a truly wickedly spiked and razored guantlet. Though not all was cold metal and leather,draped down in front of her abdomen like a loin cloth was a beautiful crimson ,yellow and blue silk cloth that was patterned with more sigils,symbols and runes, filigree and jewels. In it's centre as Seth would mention as well as beneath the six winged figure on her headress was the crest of Gaia. Draping in the same way but flowing and fanning out like a magnificent bridal train behind was what appeared to be truly beautiful peacock feathers. Truly she was a sight to behold. In certain adult oriented districts back on Earth a girl dressed like this would be viewed as a sluttly heavy metal, goth,dominatrix princess wannabe..but somehow Persephone pulls it off looking like a stunning angelic vision of Death..the bitch.Totally mesmerised by her vision she didn't hear Seth yelling to her, but when he shook her she felt it for sure, she snapped out of her reverie and looked at him.

 " We have to go now before she spots us  Lacey.My people are ready to launch a counter strike under the cover of which we'll make our move..but we must move quickly." He said looking at her but looking at where Persephone was every other second." Are you ready ?"

" Yes..I think so..sorry. She's just so.."

" Yes she is..and like the Sun young Lacey..one should not stare too long.Now get ready to run and don't let go of my hand."

" Okay." She smiled. Then the world erupted around her again..this time from behind then above them and the city..as Seth's defenders exploded into action. Giants leapt, ran and roared around them...scarabs and sphynx's and dogs, big cats, snakes and eagles smashed into the attacking forces unleashing fire and sand, and brutal strength. Then at the Pyramid ,thousands of soldiers looking a lot like Seth's two Cobra headed guards, fought both inside and out to repell Persephone's hordes.To Lacey it was the most apocalyptic scene she'd ever seen..then she was running for her life as weird as it was and for what it was worth. They ran through the twisting streets and alleys as all around them monsters crashed, angels screamed, and building and land alike exploded and the sky ignited with fire. Both she and Seth could hear their names called in Persephone's furious yet cold voice.Within minutes they came upon an arch covered in heiroglyphics from which Seth read aloud certain passages. Then simultaneously a thunderous crack exploded from the arch and a shimmering darkness filled it like an open door.Seth yelled to her above the din "Are you sure ?" as a deathly chilling voice screamed "No !!!" from above and just behind them.Lacey nodded to Seth then confirmed by looking back and up what she already knew..Persephone had found them. She saw Persephone leap from her chariot releasing the jackyls at the same time..just as she felt herself lifted then falling forward...then the most excruciating pain she'd ever felt..then nothing. She awoke in the arms of Seth running through what seemed to be a tropical jungle. Lush and beautiful and very humid. She could hear something crashing through the trees behind them and knew it had to be Persephone and her hellish pets. Running, leaping and jumping, so agile and strong Seth was just managing to stay ahead of them even whilst carrying her dead weight.

" Put me down Seth..I'm slowing you down." She said a little quiet and drowsily.

" No time young Lacey..and you are not hindering me in the slightest.Just  let me concentrate on finding a place to protect and shelter us..then we can talk." With that he just kept running, dodging and weaving his way through the beautiful yet alien world they now found themselves lost in, with unknown dangers around them, and the relentless sound of the known danger behind them. Persephone crying out to both of them from time to time in a vain effort to get them to surrender. A few native animals spooked by the chase fell victim to the jaws of her pets as they crossed their path, their screams haunting and painful to Lacey's ears. So it went for what seemed like hours until finally, and maybe unfortunately the trees parted and a small clearing around a vine embraced large stone temple seeming growing out of a cliff wall, came into view. Large wasn't exactly the right word..the temple was huge on closer inspection..it's higher levels just hidden and overgrown by trees and foliage and half in darkness from the jungles ancient canopy through which only sparse rays of light made their way through. As Seth ran towards it across the clearing it became apparent that it was not dirt under the puddles of water, mud, and grass and weeds..it was stone. A courtyard, overgrown by the jungle, either by neglect or by design. There was a fountain, covered in moss and filled with foul water. There were statues of big cats , and cat people..feline heads and human like bodies... and urns and vases and benches spread around.  As they approached the stairs, massive ..almost six feet wide and four feet high each ascending block, that lead up to the entrance she could see tribal paintings mixed with heiroglyphics..again with the Egyptian stuff she thought..and strange icons and symbols on the stairs and walls. Two statues ten to twelve feet high stood on either side of the entrance. One an angelic figure with a metallic halo round a haunting blank face, massive wings stretched behind her and flowing hair of fire brandishing an absolutely viscious looking axe. On the other side a demonic looking creature with massive horns, the head of a bull, body of a man, an massive leathery black wings holding a trident. The two figures facing each other as if in an eternal stand off and at the same time as if appearing to maintain a balance and peace. " Seth..stop where you are and release the human to me!!" ordered Persephone as she and her Jackyls swarmed our and across the courtyard racing towards the stairs. Seth ignored her as he had been all along.

" Fine..die then. I shall enjoy tearing your withered flesh from your wretched bones." Persephone hissed..yet even to Lacey it sounded a little hollow..as if Persephone didn't believe she could actually do it herself. Though it didn't mean she wouldn't give it the old college try. The Jackyls flew up the stairs then. Seth turned lowering Lacey to the ground behind him and faced them. Then as the beasts stood at the top snarling at them..tensing, ready to strike..a voice spoke behind them.

" Enter weary travellers..our Lady awaits thee..we will deal with these beasts. No evil shall enter her home." A deep male voice. They turned and saw the bull like statue looking down at them the angel already striding past them..both no longer statues but in all terrifying glory very much alive.She was beautiful, yet terrifying to watch as she both cleaved with her axe and set ablaze with her wings and hair the Jackyls  killing them instantly or sending them hurtling back down the stairs past the now hesitant Persephone. Seth took Lacey's hand and they walked inside and through winding corridoors adorned with art and murals. Lacey felt a little de ja vu ..but who was she to complain. They were safe..weren't they.

" Seth..do you know anything about where we are? Who lives here ? "  Lacey asked whilst looking around the torch lit interior. " I mean the statues and heiroglyphs..do they give you a clue ?"


" I've been behind the Veil only twice before Lacey..and never here. So I do not know where we are, however, the things you mention do give me a clue as to who this temples occupant may be. The temple mat appear Mayan in design ..but the histories and art are definitely Egyptian."

" Is that a good thing ?" Lacey asked quietly as their voices seemed to carry and echo.

" Maybe..maybe not..I wasn't always popular " He half smiled at her.

" Oh great..lets just hope this one likes you."

" Indeed.." Seth said as if trying to reassure himself. They walked into a dim torch lit hall, a small  pool in it's centre circular in shape, near naked humans..designs of a tribal origin and culture tattooed on their lithe bodies..lounged around the floor or busied themselves with chores. Towards the end of the hall on a bed of rugs and silk pillows lay a figure being pampered ,fed and bathed by more of the tribal people..some licking them like a cat cleans itself..others merely caressing. As they approached cautiously the servants, for thats what hey appeared to Lacey to be, stopped what they were doing and stood behind and to the side of the lazing figure. Protective yet non obstructing to their master's view.

 The figure stood up pulling a silken robe around herself  with grace and seemingly not a care in the world. She turned with a feline sway and looked upon them with a mischievious glint in her eyes. Lacey gasped, not in fear, but in amazement at the beauty stood in front of her. A being possessing not only a perfect human female body..in Lacey's opinion that is..but the head of a beautiful white cat. It..she smiled in amusement at Lacey's reaction..then spoke in the most alluring and lyrical of voices. Sexual, strong and assured. " My my..time hasn't treated you so well has it Seth." " No Bastet..I'm afraid it hasn't." He replied deliberately ignoring the intended slight. " You on the other hand look as beautiful as ever." " Why thank you my dear. See..I knew deep down you weren't as bad as the others say." She smiled devilishly." I always liked you better than Osiris anyways."


" Bastet.." Seth started.


" Now now..don't get worked up..just teasing..wouldn't want you to get wrinkles now would we? " She laughed and he just shook his head mumbling she was as impossible as ever.

" Now .." She continued as she patted Seth's shoulder and sauntered up to Lacey." tell me sweet child by the power of Ra how did such a beautiful little thing like you end up with a craggy old fossel like this one." She  stroked Lacey's hair and before Lacey could answer put a long manicured and jewelled nail to Lacey's lips and said. " Oh..nevermind, my answer has just been escorted in. Should have known it would be something to do with good old mumsy Gaia." Seth and Lacey turned and saw Persephone being escorted but not restrained by the two "statues". Lacey turned to the "angel" and confronted her.


" I thought you said you weren't to allow evil in here?"

" That is correct " The Angel with no face replied a little confused by this creatures obvious ire. " I have not done so either." " You decimated her creatures yes..but..but you let her in!!" Lacey felt all eyes on her but she didn't care. " She is evil." " No she isn't..she has done wrong assuredly..but she is not evil." The Angel spoke gently and calmly..and next with a sadness and compassion in her tone." She cannot be evil for she has been deprived of her true self. She is a lost soul..used and deceived by a true evil. She is a victim yet she is unable to see through no fault of her own."

" How dare you speak of me in this way." Persephone swung round and slapped the Angel across it's blank face.It's wings stretched and it's fiery hair blazed brighter in a warning. Bastet stepped in between them.

" Let it go Lucifer..as you said she is a lost soul. Her actions are merely ones of denial and delusion." Lucifer stood down but still looked directly at Persephone with an air of warning." Now Nepthrys dear.. that sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. I'm sure your husband Seth would agree..it's very unbecoming."

" You..are..you're Persephones husband ?" Lacey turned to Seth in disbelief.

" A long time ago Lacey..she was a different person..literally..back then." He had a sadness in his voice that made Lacey's ire turn to sympathy.He obviously loved her.

" That's a lie !!" Persephone looked daggers at Seth then sternly at Lacey." Do not fall prey to the insanity of these false gods Lacey. Think of your son..let us leave this place and go to him. Go to Gaia."

" Oh sweet sweet tragic child..that hag you call Gaia truly has done a number on you hasn't she? " Bastet sauntered around her.

" Why you lying..evil.." Persephone started...but stopped when both Lucifer and the bull, named Taurus, restrained her.

" Hush now chile..ignorance is only tolerated as an excuse for rudeness for only so long." Bastet eyed her up and down till she was sure she was calm enough." Now..though you don't remember your past life as Seth's..or should I say one of..Seth's wives..that too was and isn't truly who and what you are my beautiful clueless fallen one." " Enlighten me then." Persephone glowered.

" I shouldn't have too." Bastet smiled again with mischief in her eyes." Though I may despise the old whore I must give Gaia points for devilish cruelty. To wipe out knowledge of who you are to serve her purposes is one thing..but to cruelly rub it in your face by mounting it on your headress and warrior's crest is truly nasty." She looked at Persephone and saw no inkling of what she was saying was getting through. She sighed and turned to Seth and asked..

" Was she this stupid when she was married to you?" She turned back to Persephone. " My dear it's plastered on that gorgeous head of yours..you were..and always have been a Seraphim. You are an Angel you stupid cow..remember!!" "Lies..all lies!!! " Persephone cried in sheer denial." Mother took my life once yes for I had lost my way..influenced by others from Her path..yet she brought me back..born anew and better..yet never took my identity. Keep your filthy lies to yourself ." Bastet just sighed. "You poor chile, so beautiful so powerful..yet so lost. I shall release you to fly back home to your mummy..pathetic succubus withered old hag that she is..but you shall not drag this poor chile with you.Oh..and one more thing..if you ever..ever!!!..bring dogs..hellhounds or otherwise into my kingdom ever again..I shall tear you apart and eat you as you gasp your final pathetic lost breath. Is that understood ?"

" Yes..though understand this I will be back and I will be back for her." She  snarled. " You can guarantee what I bring with me will be far worse than mere Jackyls."

" Bored now..get her out of here Lucifer." Bastet strode back to her bed.

" Lacey..listen to me.." Persephone pleaded as she struggled to stop being dragged from the room." Do not listen to her..she lies..she will trick and betray you. It's not to late to choose to come with me of you're own will..Seth won't stop you..he may be my enemy but I know he is a man of his word. He will not stop you and will not let...that..stop you either. Please..think of Brandon..your son needs you." " Her son..?" Bastet  faced Persephone standing once more from her bed." Why would she need to go with you to see her son ? " " He is with Gaia for he is the "Chosen" one.

 " It's true Bastet.." Seth said. " From what Lacey tells me it was Persephone herself that took them both from their reality." " I know she did Seth..or that's what Lacey believes..yet who told her what  happened. Little miss deluded over there..barking like the rabid dogs she sullied my kingdom with."

 "I was there you know.." Lacey turned on Bastet. " Oh yes sweety I know..and yes what the little fallen Angel over there did to you and all those people did happen as you say.Yes she did get that filthy wraith to murder you and yes you left through the window in your son's mind and soul found by The Herald.What she didn't tell you..and what she probably don't know herself..is that your son did not die with you in that room..his soul did not come with you to Gaia's little world. That little boy in that monolith body was not your son..but a facsimile of him..that your traumatised mind wanted to believe was your son to make you feel better."

" But I.." Lacey started..

" Don't listen to her Lacey..she's a filthy heathen liar !!!" Persephone cried out.

"  You felt his heart..his soul touching yours..yes you did." Bastet continued." But it wasn't because he was there with you..it was because he loves you and needs you and your bond is strong..he's newborn for Ra's sake.When they took you..you left the way they came in..through your "living" son's mind and soul. Did it never occur to you that he would have to be "alive" to exit the same way?" Bastet walked over and put her arm around Lacey." Poor chile..you were confused I know..but you left your newborn alone and by Ra alive on that hospital floor screaming for his momma. It wasn't your fault..dead and all..but he was still alive..and still is. That's why you can feel your bond..even here..especially here am I right?"

" Well yes..but.."

" No buts chile..you feel it cause he is here chile." Bastet  clicked her fingers and from another room a servant brought in a human baby boy..mere a week old at the most." Lacey..I give you your son, safe and sound, and very much alive. I give you Brandon. TO BE CONTINUED.......
