Ok, here's my first Tattoo! i just got it. the writting is in Latin and means, "Have mercy on us." Ok, now here's the story on it. when i was like 14 or 15 i started to question my belief in God. and in this period of questioning I was walking through the woods one day. I tripped and fell into a thorn bush. when i stood up a branch of thorns was stuck in my skin and i had to pull it out. i saw this as i sign because Jesus wore a crown of thorns. It was almost like i had felt a little of his pain. This reconfirmed my faith. Now i have like 5 or six scars on my wrist from where the thorns went into my skin. in the photo it's kinda hard to see but if you look closely around the cross you will see little pink dots. those are my scars. I chose the saying Miserere Nobis because i felt that even though i strayed away from God that he accepted me back to him. he "Had mercy on me." hope you like it! FULL VIEW PLEASE!

Sorry 'bout the 'watermark' but:

After TWO freaking YEARS I finally did it! *dies*
So within the next two weeks I will get my tattoo done (at least I hope for it since I was waiting to get it for the last 5 years-).

did an amazing job on the Godcards! Without her help I would probably be still stuck and struggling to get them right (also because I was way too lazy and lacking encouragement to get them bloody done!)
So all the credit/cookies/adorations/amazement/envy/murder threats/letter bombs for the divine monsters go straight to her! All I had to do was cleaning up her amazing and wonderful sketches! Thank you soooo much dear, you were just one hell of a help to me (no pun intended, Sebas-chan *ggg*).

Why two years you asks? Well, the wings were done within a couple of days, if I do recall it right. BUT: naturally I had to make it complicated and choose hieroglyphics that do have a meaning... Thus starts the epic tale of me doing about two years of researches (Yeah, being fluent in 3 languages plus knowing Latin is pretty helpful at times! Otherwise I might not have succeeded- @__@)

Why that whole effort for probably nobody will be able to read it anyways?
Well, perfectionism strikes (once again) I suppose. I am never satisfied 100% whit whatever I do but thats how I improve. I always give my very best.
(Either that or insanity...)
Plus I wanted something more realistic than the manga/anime shows.

I have a very personal reason to get this done, even if it means that Ill have to endure hours of pain:

A few years ago I had to wear a corset (mine looked akin to that thing [link]). Not the fashionable things but one made of plastic, leather and iron because my spine was gradually begin to deform because of a genetic defect (thankies to both my parents for passing it down to me <_< I had no chance at all avoiding it). I still have a little hunch which bothers me at times, but thats something I have to live with and will do, after all I cannot change it and it is barely visible.

That corset was a bitch to wear. And I had to wear it 7/24!
When sleeping I felt like lying on marble, during summer it was hot, in winter freezing. I was bruised all over, I was not able to breathe properly (much like Elizabeth Swan). I could not move around like a kid should, could not even sit (school was hell), couldnt wear clothes I liked because that thing would be seen beneath everything. Of course others would be picking on me guess children are just too cruel to believe sometimes.

I think the worst thing I was put through were the first few days:
The day I went to the hospital the doctor claimed that everything was ok. Two weeks later, same doctor: He said that I had to go through surgery: they would have put two iron sticks whit my spine =__= (thats all I can remember from that day). I am so glad my Mother started freaking out on the [please insert random curse to name the doc whit]. So I got a corset instead of that hellish operation for which I am still thankful.

It was still unpleasant to get it (haha). Imagine a shy girl of 12 or 13 years, having to strip down naked in front of two stranger men, being put in plaster from her shoulders down to the hip, private parts still in plain sight, standing unmoving like that for more than one hour because that thing needed to dry. I felt so ashamed and humiliated!
And the time they finally cut it open I was terrified of the giant scissors they used- the asshole almost cut into my shoulder!
About a week or so later I got the corset-

The first night was a nightmare. I could not sleep at all! I could only lay on my back, it was itchy and cold and it hurt. Luckily I was wake and did not move around that much.
But a few days later when I was so exhausted I finally slept~ well, in the morning I got up, struggling to get out of bed and into an upright position, then dragging me to the bathroom... when I got finally rid of that thing in order to shower I got the shock of my life!
The corset had many holes in it so the skin could get air- but whoever made it forgot to file down the sharp edges. They had dug into my flesh- My whole back was covered in blood underneath the corset.
(Feel like crying again- bad memories! >__< I think I even fainted at this point because I have no memories after that for that day.)
I dont know, but I might still have a few scars left from the 4 years wearing that thing-
So glad I dont have to wear it anymore!

Well, after that torture I sympathized with Marik the very first time I watched Yugioh! Even if I hated the series at that time.
He really is a character I can identify whit (and not only because the back-story).

So I think the Tattoo also represents kind of a seal to me for so many things I have gone through. Both physical and mental pain, but it also holds good memories. My past I dont want to lose but put it aside, at least for a while.

Tryna Bring da Thunda... lol... Been wanting to do this pose for a while now. Thought id throw in a little Latin flavor wth a Japanese motif, n like Emeril Lagasse puts it "BAM" thts a spicy number. Dnt kno if u can notice, but I dnt tend to ink my pictures before I color them, so ths is a first. Not tht I dnt like inking, its just tht I dnt really care to do it much and dnt find it a neccessity, it more or less gives th picture a diff edge to it. But dnt get me wrng, I do like th way it came out n may be inking more often. Colors were done in CS3 on Wacom tablet.

Tattoo I plan to have inked sometime soon.
I'm too busy spending money on my motorcycle, and not enough time saving for this, but that's OK because I'm still working on the banner. I don't like that it's not tattered enough to match the style of the cross having little chips taken out of it.

Had a few messages inquiring about the text.
Yes, it is Latin. It is my family, "Sanders", crest's motto.
"Nil Conscire Sibi" is Latin for "To have a conscience free from guilt." Something I live my life by, and seems very fitting to be spanned over a Cross.

I knew when I started to design this tattoo I wanted it to have a few elements that I always wanted in a tat.
[*] A cross - a symbol of my unyielding Christian faith.
[*] A trinity/Celtic knot - the trinity is symbolic of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If you choose to call it a Celtic knot then this too symbolizes my Irish heritage.
[*] Tribal feel - I love how the bands draping from the cross look like the Ichthys (or Jesus fish)

I modified this from a drawing in a book. It originally had only stars, but I wanted to include the symbology of the butterfly too - and all it represents for me.
This picture is really close to my heart. I have alot of trouble allowing myself to cry - which is usually pretty unhealthy - instead I hold everything inside. So this picture of the tears flowing is like healing for me. Because when I do eventually cry, it is an enormous thing, and often profoundly changes me. The tears are releasing and healing.
I am in love with the stars, and been known to spend hours staring at them, have been described as 'a shining star' and have a special ring inscribed with the Latin words 'ad astra' which means 'to the stars'. 'The Star' is also my personal tarot card. Stars represent hope, expansion, reaching - so many things to me.
The butterfly is one of my animal totems, and never fails to show up when I'm upset. She represents freedom, change, transformation and new beginnings.
My whole life is a journey of endings and new beginnings.
As is everyone's.

So, as you can see, this means alot to me.

So I'm figuring out how I want to get a tattoo after I turn the big 18. I know I'm getting a dragon because dragons have always been a part of my life, a big symbol for me. The white doves represent the freedom of peace, and there are three of them because the number three is representative of my style of karate--Isshinryu Karate has everything in 3s. The dragon is holding an earth with the "pax" banner because "pax" is latin for Peace. The yin yang is also for karate and also for that eternal struggle between light and dark, heavy and weightless, hard and soft. Kind of the ongoing struggle of man, you know? And the dragon has white angel's wings instead of typical dragon wings because it's not supposed to be something with malicious intent. It's supposed to be benevolent, and it'll stop at nothing to defend that peace and harmony. I'm still working on it. This is my first sketch of it, I'm certain there will be others.

Just a fast little tattoo design for a co-worker.

Her request was to make the word LOS feminine with a cherry and a dollar sign.

This is my interpretation. I made the O into a cherry and since she's Mexican I gave it the traditional Latin lettering with a little flair. Since it's a gift for her husband to go onto her, I gave it a little symbolism since her Hubby's in the pin. Notice the L has thorns.. for those familiar with the poem you'll guess why.

I couldn't just put a dollar sign in.. I mean come on.. LOL.. so I over simplified it.

And cherry blossoms.. should speak for themselves since ther cherry is the center point of interest.

[I know this picture is blurry and at a strange angle but..hey, I had to take it myself, ha. And we all know my camera sucks, thanks to my ex throwing it at me..]

Anyway, this is my new tattoo on my left shoulder.
Was kind of a spur of the moment descision, but not really.
I had always wanted to get this tattooed on me, but on my left wrist. But I decided the shoulderblade was better.

Next tattoo planned--"Veritas" (Latin for truth) on my left wrist or somewhere else.

I designed this tattoo for myself while I was attending Marine Combat Training in North Carolina in 2006.

The cross represents the cross I wore through boot that Austin (my husband) gave me and also that my spirituality helped me through it all. The emblem obviously is for the corps and when paired with the cross stands for "God, Corps, and Country". The NCO sword represents the warrior's spirit and all those Marines who have gone before me. The rifle is my M16 "Toby" who I learned to love in boot. Finally, the banner reads "Semper Fidelis" which is latin for "Always Faithful" and is the USMC moto.

This was my first tattoo.

This is a tattoo I designed and got done. It's a tribute to my mother who passed away when I was 12. The latin quote "Vincit Qui Se Vincit" translates to "He Conquers Who Conquers Himself". My mother was a drug addict for many years, before cleaning up and even going back to college. The libra symbol in the middle represents our respective birthdays, Oct 12 and Oct 21, hence the 1 2 2 1 in roman numerals.

Took about an hour and a half. Done by a woman named Kelly Ojstersek in Vancouver, WA. She did a wonderful job. Just thought I would share it.

Celtic Tattoo Concept

A concept visual of my eventual tattoo. The base image is by the excellent ~ToolUsingAnimal [link] , a Celtic Tree of Life. It symbolizes the cycles of life, as the branches intertwine with the roots and vice versa. The words are the 4 Virtues I chose to represent myself, as follows:

Stärke - Strength (German)
Onóre - Honor (Italian)
Scientia - Wisdom (Latin)
Deírc - Charity (Gaelic)

This image is just what I cobbled together with the original piece ([link]) and some Photoshop CS playing around. Starke will actually be runic, and Deirc will be more like traditional Gaelic type, more rounded and stout. Onore will have more of a calligraphic lilt to it, and Scientia should be a bit more starkly Roman.

Ideally, the knotwork will be interwoven with the words.

In essence, it will only look roughly like this The final design will of course depend on the skill of the tattoo artist.

I must say, I am stoked

The following is a major portion of the tattoo design that is on the back of Jace, Aria's former partner. Like Aria's this is not a complete design though his involves also demonic wings along the shoulders and what appears to be a inscription written in Latin that says "Death is but a doorway, and I'm hear to take you to hell. The Grim Reaper smiles from your suffering, as I lead you into your eternal nightmare..."

Like Aria's I hope to one day do a full render of the design..

Name: Jace (pronounced a little like trying to say ‘chase’ ; ) Bauer

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Country: Born in Germany, though he resides currently wherever Umbrella and/or Wesker currently wants him.

Appearance: He stands slightly taller then his boss, Albert Wesker. He is tall and lithe, but built like a tank. With the many years of weight training, military, and experimentation, he could probably drop someone or something like one too. His hair is a shade similar to Wesker’s though a shade lighter. He wears it in a short spiky fashion, somewhat military style, though with a little length. His eyes are a deep golden amber color, which have that eerie almost
unnatural feel to them. He opts as far as style for a combination of military style and mercenary utilitarian. The dark fatigues with a combat vest and occasionally armor. He also appears to have a headset mic device and a small portable HUD, which he apparently uses for a number of things including control and communication with a number of

Weapon: Bauer appears to believe in the idea of a one man armory. And one would be damned if he isn’t. His arsenal usually consists of two combat knives, with what appears to be some sort of Teflon material coating the blade, allowing it to easily cut through thin metal easily. Though combined with his slightly superhuman strength, metal in general doesn’t do well in his way either. He also totes a pair of Beretta Px4 Storms, a Desert Eagle and a customized Sig Sauer SP2022. He also occasionally totes a Sig Sauer Blaser Tactical 2 rifle when he thinks he needs it.

Allegiance: Umbrella, Wesker specifically. He is probably more like Wesker’s unofficial bodyguard and chief heavy mercenary for hire. Nine times out of ten, if he’s around, then Wesker is either not far behind, or is probably nearby somewhere watching, and probably enjoying Jace’s path of carnage.

Likes: Motorcycles, weapons, killing things, a good cigar or whiskey…

Dislikes:The resistance and pretty much anyone ‘anti- Umbrella’ Seems to really hate Aria though, after she left him and then betrayed Umbrella.

Personality: Crazy? Homicidal? Fearless…Kind of makes his boss not seem quite so insane. Pretty much if your not working for Umbrella or support them, then your nothing more then shit or blood spatter on his shoe.

Weakness: Unknown, though Aria is the last thing you might want to bring up (unless you wish to die really painfully).

Strength: Like Aria, he’s proficient in a lot of things, a Jack of all Trades. Highly intelligent. Proficient in weapon and hand combat, as well as strategy and tactics.

Defining Characteristics: Grinch anyone? If Wesker had a personality clone, then Bauer is it. He’s mean, vindictive, and extremely violent. He’s the type who would put a bullet in your head, whether he has a reason for it or not. And he would do it without a second thought.

History: Like Aria, he prefers to keep his past to himself, unless he has a damned good reason to talk about it. Though he is probably the only person outside of Wesker, who knows anything about Aria and her past period. He actually used to date her for a while, till the incident where she then left him and Umbrella behind. He too was one of the few dozen or so who where part of the same “rodigy Program” that Umbrella had acquired Aria, along with several others. Basically all the members of the Prodigy Program where placed into the companies active rotations and placed on fast track schooling and training regiments that best suited each particular child or teens specific proficiencies or abilities. Most hold at least several degrees from places along the lines of Harvard, Princeton and MIT, as well as at minimum basic or for some advanced training in combat skill and readiness on a level used by various governments to train there soldiers and secret agents. His particular specialty was combat arms and field command, making a very dangerous opponent. Each member of the Prodigy Program had some form of code name or alias used when on a mission. His is “The Merchant of Death”, and at one point before Aria left him and Umbrella, he and Aria (known among them and most hacker and communication ops folks –before she became Umbrella’s- as the “Angel of Code, Rengaku” where some of Umbrellas most formidable agents for hire, especially combining his combat skill with her ability to ‘communicate’ with technology, made them a nearly unstoppable pair. Now he controls most of Umbrellas Mercenary corps, and several small battalions of special operatives, as well as a number of the special ‘bio weapon’ divisions. He basically operates as Wesker’s second in command of many of the combat ops units and facilities.

Check out my new tattoo!
It's the Inquisitorial Rosette with the latin phrase, "Innocentia Nihil Probat" which translates to, "Innocence proves nothing." I have been looking into getting this tattoo for a year now, and I think this gives my favored 40k faction a proper shout out.

The artist who did it is my friend Chris [link] he's been doing tattoos for about 15 years and is very talented.

HELLO, I get a lot of favourites and comments on this, but it seems like very few of you look through my gallery. If you like this, please take the time to do so, since it's not the only thing I've done! D:

I spent the last few hours drawing on my hands and later working out a way to do the formula for Kimblee's tattoos in Full Metal Alchemist, since i don't think it ever tells the actual explosive reaction he uses.

On each hand he has half of a transmution circle. On the left hand the moon symbol and on the right the sun. I figured that each point should represent an element in the alchemic reaction.

With 3 points on each hand the formula had to have two compounds of 3 elements each. The best choice for this was the explosive chemical reaction above.

Given the amounts of the elements needed at least a small explosion would be possible from most materials available on earth.

The next step would be to find out if any of those chemicals have a different name in Latin since armistice is an english-speaking country (all the background text in both anime and manga is in english) which would be derived from a paralell to latin.

So ya... not really technical drawing but hey... sorta fits.

My most recent tattoo, actually from a couple years ago. I'm currently working on coming up with a design for another one.

It's Latin and says Memento Vivere which means rememberance of life. To me it means to remember to live and take advantage of life and eveything in it.

The artist was Rich from On The Edge tattoo in Bowling Green, OH. He no longer works there though and I have no idea where he went, shame though cause he was a great artist.

Just something I made for tattoo fight club. The elements were vulture and hourglass so this is what I came up with.
The banner says "time waits for no one" in Latin but "Naminem" should read "Neminem".

Yeah, Hotaru has a new sleeve. Boy I'm killing myself just by doing this coz yanno... I have to repeat his tattoos over and over again later. He might have a thing for eyeballs...and squares... and stars. And the word is in Latin (Stercus Accidit), which basically translates to 'shit happens' or, according to me bf, 'shit did it' lol.
Whew I'm surprised I did this pretty quick.

There's something that bugs me bout the composition... idk D:

Tools: Ink, watercolor, acrylic, Copic, colored pencils, and PS.
Time: Around 4 hours.
