My Master Sword and Hylian Shield were commissioned by Aaron Granofsky of fiberglassblades.com. He liked the idea of a Dark set so much he came out of fiberglassing "retirement" to make them for me, lol. We both designed the color scheme and it's great!

I bought the contacts, obviously, and I bought the chainmail as well. Other than that everything else was made or modified by me for use on my costume.

My best friend and I have a Zelda glove and shoulder belt shop, so we sell real leather gloves and belts to other cosplayers. We start with a raw sheet of leather and everything else is done by us. For more questions, comment or note! Boot tops are also part of the leather we work with. The original boots are from scaboots.com

Overall, the cost was around $1,500. The custom props ran me about $700, the contacts were $300 and the chainmail was about $200. Raw leather was $100(we split that cost), belt blanks were $15-20ish each. Pre modified boots cost me $100 but they're really comfortable. I was in them for 10 hours.

-The facepaint I used was Mehron's liquid color make-up. I've probably painted my face probably 15-20 or so times now on a single 8 ounce bottle. It's really great stuff but unless you use a no sweat barrier under it, and some kind of sealing powder on top, it'll come of very easily as soon as you sweat. In 90 degree weather it's gone in seconds. .v_v. But it goes on really smooth and looks really natural! ^_^

- My ears are the large anime ear from Aradani Studios. They are widely recognized as the ear to get for OoT Link, though some people who have smaller ears have better luck with the small anime ear. The large anime ears are just plain too big for TP Link though, in my opinion so I got the small ones too. Both look great!

- My contacts are from 9mmsfx.com. If you're looking for extremely high quality contacts this is the place to go. Pricy but I've had my older contacts from them for 3 years and they're still in great condition. The type of contacts I use for Dark Link are called Sclera contacts or full-eye sclera contacts. They cover the whites of your eyes as well for the full effect.
I also recommend sfxeyes.com. ^_~

The costume was made by me, and it took me 6 months to make because I made my own chainmail shirt. It's really a dream to be able to cosplay as Link. He is my favorite character of all time, and I grew up with him. When I was little I always dressed up as Link and pretended to fight the many creatures of Hyrule and Ganon to find Princess Zelda.

Ah so many great memories. I love the Legend of Zelda series. It's my life.

last weekend fanime, I barely got a chance to wear Twilight Princess Link because I was so busy, But i was happy to finally finish my new shield. Anyway, my hat is blessed. Thats Shigeru Miyamotos Signature.

Months before E3 i was already discussing with my parents where should he sign my costume?? but of course i was told not to get my hopes up. But i wanted my hat signed, So when we met, we chatted until his translator went to go look for something to write with and came back with a silver sharpie! awesome! I took my hat off and nicely held it straight while he took his time signing it making it all nice and neat. so awesome!!! I literally was the happiest person alive.

I dont have pictures of the sig on the tunic yet, but i do have one of the sheild. Will upload that one later. ghaaa im so happpy, like seriously happy. omg you have no idea how much of a life long dream this was for me to meet him. Ive ended up meeting him a total of 5 times, and now we say hello to each other and he asks about my costumes.

yeah..excuse my tired look, i was sitting on the floor painting my shield all day and till 8am the next morning before leaving for fanime. XD

Another addition to my poster series.
MAGIC ARMOR! I always see the Magic Armor as being like an Armor of a Hylian Knight. When I first saw it I had to make it. So...Finally I got a pic up LOL. It's been almost a year since I first wore this costume but never posted any pictures anywhere because I was waiting for a particular location to do a photoshoot at. I finally was able to last week at a really nice Cathedral, so here it is. My dad was the photographer and we took good advantage of the location.
Magic Armor is from Twilight Princess (I am surprised at how many people DIDN'T know about this version and also thought I was Princess Zelda in armor. Really? = Seriously people. It doesn't even look like Zelda except for the shoulder armor. But the hat, sword, and shield and chainmail are a complete giveaway that this is Link).
I've worked on this costume on and off for a few years. I put it on hold for a while too because I needed a break from it. Spent 5 months making the new chainmail (My regular Heros Garb chainmail took 6 months) for this one and the armor was a huge trial and error process. There were some parts that I had to remake over and over until it was right.
I started on it right after Twilight Princess came out and I had all of the reference images that I needed to start and finish the costume. No.. I didnt run out of rupees xD

Throughout the years I've been doing what I can to bring Link and his world of Hyrule to life.


Costume was started 2006/2007. Worked on and off. Completed 2010.

Plus... A LOT of female cosplayers like to go as Link so it must be a common trend that he isn't the most MASCULINE of people haha.

Gosh the 80s! Great times, so many memories growing up and playing the Zelda games, and what a way to show my love for the 80s with old school Link!
I always wanted to make an old school Link with Accurate Hair!! This was going to be based off of LttP but I decided to add in the brown tights (like he has in AoL) because it went really well with the tunic and boots, plus it was a bit cold. This ended up being a mix between AoL and ALttP because of the tights and the hair color Aol has brown hair while Lttp/La has lighter hair. I chose a more realistic color pallet and I like how it came out. The wig was the most difficult part, just because I wanted to get it as accurate as possible.

I pulled this out really quickly, I already had the sword and shield.

This image was actually rather photoshopped: the original photo was really dark, but I still wanted to put it up because they're both looking directly at the camera, considering a dozen other people wee cramming for photos.

I drew out the colors, made it brighter, and added more contrast. I like the colors. It reminds me of a Hyrule atmosphere a lot.

Although the strange angle of the photo kinda gets to me. You kinda have to tilt your heads

The Malon costume is a classic remake of my original Malon costume. The skirt, blouse, and scarf are all 100% linen of varying weaves and thicknesses. The costume has been distressed to show wear and tear, assuming that Malon would get dirty if she was working on the ranch all day! The background is a beautiful digital matte painting by Mickael Forrett.

I always wanted a photo of Malon interacting with Navi. I thought it would be cute, so I just couldn't resist the idea of this one.

This cosplay photo was a huge combined group effort that was a labor of love by friends and fans of the Legend of Zelda series. Combining all aspects of art from photography to matte painting, we wanted to bring the Legend of Zelda to life as best we could in a final presentation. So far this has been incredibly rewarding, and we hope that those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

A special thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far! Without all of your support and kindness we wouldn't have been able to make this happen. We only hope that with what we produce, a smile is put on your face!

Been getting a lot of comments that i should get pics taken with a horse. and lol. i decided to upload this pic.
This is an old picture tho, was taken back in early 2005.

Epona currently lives in my home country (hungary) and yes, i take my costumes with me when i go there (visit family) and wear them when i visit Epona lol.. except not my props. there is no way im trusting the airlines with my props.

she was such a great horse,very huge, but incredibly calm and photogenic. I really miss her tho and I barely get the chance to see her. She is at a stable where shes being taken care of, and there are a lot of other horses there too so she got good company XD. Dont know when I will be going back, not any time soon tho. =\
but she loved getting photos taken XD

If any of you are wondering. she is NOT photoshoped in anyway. Those are her true colors.

Ill take pics with her as twilight princess Link when i head back....whenever that will be. not sure if it will be within the next five years. maybe. who knows.

well I might as well upload another cosplay pic of my Ocarina of Time Link costume, and this time with Epona!

I played that game for 4 months straight. It really should have taken me a shorter time (since I had essentially memorized the guidebook) but I savored it all. Link was my hero, and I could go on and on about that, but I won't because lord knows I've been typing for 15 minutes already XD

I can't wait to cosplay Link again, and continue to improve this costume and do different versions of Link. As with all of my other cosplays I fall very short of all those other amazing cosplayers out there, but on a personal level, I am very proud of how this costume turned out.

Link's Costume:

The boots, gloves, and belts are all real leather, which we will be distressing further in the future. The gloves are still in semi pristine order right now, because Link has just emerged from the Temple of Time in his new clothes! The sword and shield are made with a number of different materials including high density foam, fiberglass, and resin. We included with the shield some distressing, since he is able to use it as a kid, but we will embellish it further as time goes on! The tunic is made with rayon spandex jersey knit, and the underclothes are a combination of 100% linen and spandex ITY. I will be posting a more in depth "how it was made" on the website once all of the photos have been posted!

Saria's Costume:

The jumper is made with 100% cotton sweater knit with a slight lurex spun in to give it just enough "fairy sparkle." The turtle neck is a 100% wool 5x3 rib knit. I hand dyed both the jumper fabric, and the turtle neck fabric to be the colors that I wanted.

I always thought it was sad that Saria could not grow up, nor die, and that Link would someday pass away. This scene of Saria and Link playing the Ocarina never happened in the game, but it was something we wanted so badly to include! We ran out of time on this shoot to get all the interactive photos that we wanted, but what we did get we thought you all would love! A very sweet scene of childhood friends taking a moment to enjoy each other's company.

This cosplay photo was a huge combined group effort that was a labor of love by friends and fans of the Legend of Zelda series. Combining all aspects of art from photography to visual effects, we wanted to bring the Legend of Zelda to life as best we could in a final presentation. So far this has been incredibly rewarding, and we hope that those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

Toon Wolf Link! I decided to revamp his design, as you can see. I made his cheek fluffs more 'upsey', to make the back of his hair. I lost the big paws since the animals in The Wind Waker don't really have them. The tail is a lot of 'softer' at the end, once again, to make his hair.

What do you think? Just a quick doodle. ^^
