started this an hour or two after I got up and found a photo on tumblr to use for pose reference, though it cut off at the thighs. I liked the line-art, but the face shading is bugging the crap out of me, so I decided to stop at this point and probably try it again at some other point.

December has always been my favorite month of the year. I love decorating, I love picking out a Christmas tree, I love layering on clothes (even though I live in Florida), I love everything about the holiday season.
My friend Steven bought me this snow globe a couple years ago, knowing of my love for penguins.
I decided I wanted to try some photography with Christmas lights used in the background for bokeh. This is test #2.

Poppies! I This spirited red!
I was so lucky, there was poppy everywhere in Italy!
Used my tele lens for the left shot and the standard one for the right picture.
Yes, using such a little depth of field for a landscape shot may be unusual, but I just loved the arising Bokeh in the background! It looks a bit magical to me. And I was lucky with the bee.
Hope you like the little collage, I thought it could express the poppy's beauty best.

Western Kingbirds are one of my favorite birds, I am glad that they are finally back here in Colorado. They signal spring is officially here and summer isn't far away. They also are not that flighty and can make great subjects to photograph so when I saw this guy perching in the sunlight yesterday morning I knew right away I had to get him. They are so colorful...I love the bright yellow that they exhibit, it stands out so much and is very eye catching.

Although seems simple (in fact it hasn't been that simple to create the simplicity and consistency at the same time using approx. 4 different pictures for this - and crap! it is still not 'perfect' - but honestly, who the hell cares) this photo (manip) has become my absolute favorite lately. The way it turned out reminds me so much of my life.

Never liked the "I dedicate this..." type write ups myself (they don't seem to be 'personal' and at the same time too exclusive for my taste) but here I am, with a must, 'dedicating' this to three very important people in my life (not that they will visit this page...). One, who is my Pygmalion story, one, who is my comfort, and one, who is (was) my last flame in life. No need to mention names. We know exactly whom I am talking about.

There were only two brushes I used from DA's vast resources:

bokeh brushes
falling snow brushes

I´m in love with all those gorgeous vintage photographies you see around here. I only own a small, rather unprofessional compact digital camera, and my photography talents are really not the greatest...but I´ve been checking out a few tutorials lately. I got myself a tiny tripod lately and thought I´d give it a try.

This is actually the second version of that picture. I shot the same installment yesterday night with no lace in the background, and I had made the mistake to leave the kitchen light switched off. Turned out the background wa completely black, sadly, so I added a curtain, this time.

Every object in this picture has a story. The teapot was a gift I bought my Mum some years ago for Mother´s Day; sadly she doesn´t use it, but has it standing in a showcase in our living room.
The cup is one of my favourite breakfast cups; it helps me getting in a good mood.
The roses are actual hairclips; I first saw a very dear friend of mine wearing them before I got my own pair.
I purchased the pocket watch on a street market; it makes me smile. I like shiny pretty things.
The lace the items are standing on is an actual jumper of mine, which I have been wearing in some of the happiest moments of the last year.
The book is called The Oxford Book of English Verse, and the right page shows my favourite poem, Composed Upon Westminster Bridge by William Wordsworth - here´s a gorgeous audio version of it, read out aloud by Richard Armitage: [link]
