A senior at the Magical University, Paige had been looking for a "reference" book on magical equines. Searching through the stacks, she found what appeared to be an ancient tome that claimed to be the ultimate unabridged authority on magical horses. Moments after opening it, Paige will soon find out all about centaurs first hand, as the book transformed her into one.

Book of Changes
A large ancient / magical tome that is able to make itself resemble a book desired by it's victim. Anyone who opens it's pages is transformed into the mythical creature they see.

Rare Books Room at the Strand

I ADORE the Strand!!! Seriously, I can't get enough of wandering through the "18 miles of books", and I finally decided to venture up to the Rare Books Room on the third floor... And it smelled wonderful! I know I'm a total nerd for this, but I LOVE the way books smell! Anywho, use it as you will, just tell me if you do. Thanks!

It's actually kind of funny: I woke up this morning and though my inbox said "41 Messages", so I clicked on it, scrolled through about 41 messages worth of others' deviations and comments, then got to the "Favorites" section and almost fell off my seat! Seriously, I don't see how I'm going to get through over 400 favorites on this and my other works, but I will damn well try! Again, thank you so much to everyone who took the time to fave this/comment on this/do whatever with this! You are all amazing, and though I'm getting gushy, I love you all! Again, thanks, especially to Elandria!

This black and white illustrated catfight render is by Daniel Pascarelli and is from his B&W illustrated titfight book: Breast Duel. Now, this is a perfect example of Daniels sense of beauty, eroticism, and humor. There is a certain grim humor in this Catfight, as well as a sense of stunning sexual anticipation the viewer feels concerning the emerging titfight that is occurring between these two stacked females All in order to determine who is the better woman. I might add that I just couldn't let the 'word pun' pass on 'stacked'. There are times when I take liberties in titling Daniels work and this one of those times. However, I take no liberty in admiring his artistic genius.

Here is some background: Daniel Pascarelli was born in Lujan, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1963. He is a self-taught artist, who was largely inspired by the fantasy masters Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo. He moved to New York City in 1998 where he became known for his paintings of realistic erotic fantasy art. However, Daniel moved back to his home country a few years ago.

The full name of the artist who did this rendering is Daniel Omar Pascarelli, which is how he wants me to write out the checks I sent to him for commissioned works. In the past I only included one black and white (B&W) illustration of his works on my site, all the rest were in color. Now, in this series that I am presenting of his works, which Im uploading at the rate of one per week, they alternate between B&W and color, or how he spells it The British way: Colour. And here is one of the inked and penciled shaded ones. Since he left New York to move back to his native Argentina, I guess he can spell that colorful word any way he wants.

Although he is regarded as a Fantasy Artist, I consider Pascarelli as the finest Catfight artist ever. He can create women who are downright menacing Of which this rendering is one of them. Here is his visual humor at its finest, In an over-the-top sort of way. However he also can display at the same time his tongue-in-cheek humor in his catfights, which is coupled with terrific painting ability, in both color and detail. Needless to say I consider Daniel in that limited pantheon of fantasy painters, such as: Frazetta, Vallejo, and Achilleos. As concerns the DA censors, they contacted me back in September 2009 asking for written confirmation of his permission for me to display his works, in which I complied. This issue of copyrights has always been a sore point with a lot of members of Deviant Art who upload artworks. But there are serious legal and financial penalties that the DA Company can be subjected to if they do not show due diligence. I too chafe under these rules, but I understand and comply. Because of the world-wide economy, the art market is rather depressed; but luckily for all of us, Daniel is now accepting painting commissions from private individuals.

Book of Deviants- Mother and I

My second submission for *LeniR's Book of Deviants Contest. While my First attempt focused mainly on stock females, this one ravages the 'objects' gallery of stock. I could have never put this together without the search feature, so I thank the technical crews on DA for getting that working again. I can't believe I ever lived without it.

The idea behind this one is to have a page that represents a person's past. An ancester, or a mother, and some of her belongings... The right page represents the person living now a days and some of the things that mean something to them. Something from their own past. I realize not everything is sized according to what it would be in real life. That is where your imagination takes over.... let me know what you see in these pages

Spare time project ahoy~

I recently found a fountain pen and ink bottle at the bottom of a box i nearly tossed away and decided to play around with it.

After writing sweet nothings to a crumpled up piece of printer paper i decided it would be awesome to have a leather bound journal full of fibrous blank paper that i could write and sketch all old-timey like in.

But wait a minute, i'm poor, i can't afford one of those!
Solution, make one.

So here we go..

First thing i did was find an old unused scrap book i had kicking around. The scrap book was full of big blank sheets of manila paper, pretty damn close to what i was looking for, so that is what i will use.

I carefully removed the paper from the scrap book and pulled out the ol' paper cutter to resize the pages. I wanted my book to be small enough to easily fit in a bag, or not to be a bother to carry around, so i cut my pages to roughly 7x9, when they were folded in half they would be 7x4½.

If you can't read my quick sloppy writing, it says "you can see pen marks here where i chose where my holes are going to be". We'll get to that right now...

Holes. What for? Binding of course!
Now before i say another word on the subject let me redirect you here: Layman's Guide to Book-Binding by the amazing ~Supaslim. She has put together a nicely detailed guide about the basics of book binding. I used it as rough guidelines for myself, and would highly recommend it.

Now back to the subject at hand, holes. I decided to sew my pages together because i want a hard, strong spine on my book and to do this i needed to first decided where i wanted my thread to go, how many holes i needed and how exactly i wanted to thread it.

Being my first time ever binding a book i decided to follow Supaslim's suggestion and go with six holes for each group, lined up like so..

First i tried poking holes through my stacks of paper with a regular needle. This was difficult and sloppy, so instead of running the risk of ruining my pages i decided to burn my way through.

So i grabbed a thick needle, a candle and some needle nose clamp thingies that i have no idea what theyre actually called. I clamped the needle in tight and held it over the candle until it was red hot, i then, quickly, poked one hole through one stack of paper. Six holes, seven stacks of paper means i did this forty two times.

Technically more since i screwed a few up. I also found that burning the holes pretty much eliminated the chance of the them tearing further up the page, so that was a bonus.

Holes are done, pages are stacked. Time to get binding. I highly advise you check that book-bind guide i linked, it can explain it far better than i can. The technique i used, to put it simply, was this:

Put the needle down through the first hole.
Pull the thread through.
Put the needle up through the hole parallel to it on the same group of paper.
Pull the thread through.
Put the needle down through the hole parallel to it on the next group of paper.
Pull the thread through.
Put the needle up through the hole parallel to it on the same group of paper.
Pull the thread through.
Etc. etc.
When you get to the last hole double back the way you came, doing the same thing.
Continue on to the next two holes.

Thats about as good as an explanation from me gets, so apologies if it's difficult to understand.

When you're done you should only have a single piece of thread sticking out at either end. The only reason i have extra thread sticking out is because i noticed after i had finished that there was a spot where i didn't pull the thread all the way through, so i had to cut it, pull it through then tie it off.

In the second to last picture i have arrows point to the end of the pages, this is to show you the small gaps i left between each bundle instead pulling them really tight. I left those gaps for two reasons, one is so i can stuff the excess thread in these gaps and the other is so i can put some hot glue in those gaps to give the spine more strength (or so i told myself anyway, i don't know if this is actually true).

And thats how i did that.

Next up: hot glue and a bookmark.

How to make a Mini Book

Hi... I started making these little books... And I wanted to make a tutorial! This is how I made them...
Note: it says to use tape, but you can use glue sticks or whatever... I don't have super strength gluesticks or anything, so they wouldn't stick well.
And sorry if this lags your computer! Yes, the filesize is SUPER big... But I felt that the more pictures, the less people would be confuzzled! ^_^

Her Book Of Days.....

Well, that's gone and done it for me. I can safely say that I have pushed MS-paint AS FAR AS IT WILL GO. PERIOD. I had misgivings that when I clicked the "save" button, my damned CPU would melt. As luck would have it, it DIDNT, and I ended up with this.

I have pushed the envelope further than I ever have. staying up until two in the morning, inspiration spewing from my fingertips, not even blinking for hours on end, it was an absolute labor of love. Unbeleivably, and contrary to what I expected, this picture came out EXACTLY THE WAY I WANTED IT TO, EXACTLY the way I saw it in my head. I am so indescribably satisfied and pleased with how this picture came out, it couldn't have come out any better.

This picture was like a pilgrimmage, a journey (hey I know it sounds corny XD) But once it took off, it picked me up like a whirlwind, and on all the days I worked on it, I did nothing else, and when it was finally finished, I was left reeling, astonished, and amazed at what I had made.

I tested several new techniques as well, such as the rushing water, the splash effects, advanced clouding, and the super-dense reflection detail on the locomotive.

All sprung from a dream I had a few nights back, A Shining Golden 4-6-2 Pacific racing across a sea on a set of barely-submerged rails, off to somewhere better, off to fulfill a greater purpose, and I was in her cab, piloting her over the ocean. Through her whistle and Stack could be heard the booming song:

"One day, one night, one moment,

my dreams could be, tomorrow

One step, one fall, one falter,

east or west,

over Earth or by Ocean!

One way to be my journey,

this way could be my Book of Days.

No day, no night, no moment,

can hold me back from trying!

I'll fly, I'll fall, I'll falter,

I'll find my day may be, Far and Away!

One day, one night, one moment,

with a dream to believe in

One step, one fall, one falter,

found a new earth across a wide ocean,

This way became my journey,

this day ends together, Far and Away!"

Whatever lies at the end of this locomotive's journey, her day ends together, a dauntless engineer in her cab, far and away from the turmoil and uncertain fate she was once subjected to.

Cook Book Challenge: Week 9

Some time ago, my father picked up Family Circle's "Crazy for Chocolate" book for himself. Now, this is a rarity, as most dessert books he buys on his op-shopping expeditions are for me. I didn't see it for the longest time until one weekend he handed it to me to have a look through. He told me it wasn't great, that there was "nothing really decadent in there". It was in this moment my father was classified as certifiably insane. Not is it the greatest chocolate cookbook I have ever seen, it is right up there with my favourite desserts of all time. I want to bake this book from cover to cover, and I probably eventually will. He told me I could have the book, but I think he already knew I was not leaving his house without it.

from the ubiquitous Once Upon A Time paper stack and my never-ending quest to learn new bookbinding styles comes this book. measuring in at only 4.25 by 6 inches (~11 by 15 cm) this little number is done in the belgian style, wherein the cover and spine are woven through the spine edge of the book block. the spine is not glued in place, and is held only by the taught white thread. the cover is 2mm chipboard covered in a rich brown paper, with a matching colorful spine and bright gold endpapers. the binding was done in unbleached linen thread. inside, you will find 200 pages (counting front and back) of unlined heavy weight white sketch paper.

Bio: after a magic spell gone awry, he now only remembers his name. He has no idea what he's doing so for now he's just trying to remember. All that he has is a book of odd designs that make no sense to him, nor do the little cliff notes around the pages written in his own handwriting.
Sometimes when facing danger he'll suddenly remember a spell and cast it. After he remembers something, it stays with him. At the moment he only knows the 1st spell in the book: a ball of energy released from the palm of his hand. When casting a spell he has to concentrate and sometimes even chant the spell, leaving him vulnerable during this time.
Personality: quiet, keeps to himself

You're Sitting on My Book

So...here is my first piece of 9 fanart...done for the ~humanizations-club, it is 3 and 4 in human form. Yes, 3 is sitting on a stack of books, one of which 4 is trying to extract.

3's having fun irritating his brother, but he's gonna go splat on the floor in about three seconds. :grin:

This was a fun one to do...and a lot easier than drawing their stitchpunk forms, actually. Those ragdoll shapes aren't so easy to draw! Ah well, I'll get the hang of it, assuming I do more 9 art. I probably will--I loved the movie.

For the twins and their pile of books, I kept the line art on top, which I don't normally do. On occasion I like how it looks.

NEW Book-JUSSCOPE 2 In One

My new book JUSSCOPE 2 IN ONE is done! I will have it available at Comic-Con starting on Friday. I would have gotten it sooner but it was delayed a few days due to technical difficulties, so instead it is literally hot off the presses! It will also be available in my web site store as well. It is an awesome book and I couldn't be happier, trust me you won't be dissappointed! 100 full color pages jam packed in a softcover book for only $20!!! WTF?!! Yeah! Only $20!!!

This 100 page monster of a book was a long time coming and boy am I glad it's finally finished! This fella represents work from various projects over the past 2 years that have been piling up here in my studio. I figured I better tie it all together now before the stack of drawings grows any larger and even more difficult to organize into book form. But this is more than just a regular ol' book! It's 2 books in 1! Hence the title "JUSSCOPE 2 in 1". Depending which way you flip it open you will get my gallery or my sketchbook, either way twice as much art as the my last pressing! This black and white illustrated catfight render is by Daniel Pascarelli and is from his B&W illustrated titfight book: Breast Duel. Now, this is a perfect example of Daniels sense of beauty, eroticism, and humor. There is a certain grim humor in this Catfight, as well as a sense of stunning sexual anticipation the viewer feels concerning the emerging titfight that is occurring between these two stacked females All in order to determine who is the better woman. Now, there are times when I take liberties in titling Daniels work and this one of those times. However, I take no liberty in admiring his artistic genius.

Here is some background: Daniel Pascarelli was born in Lujan, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1963. He is a self-taught artist, who was largely inspired by the fantasy masters Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo. He moved to New York City in 1998 where he became known for his paintings of realistic erotic fantasy art. However, Daniel moved back to his home country a few years ago.

The full name of the artist who did this rendering is Daniel Omar Pascarelli, which is how he wants me to write out the checks I sent to him for commissioned works. In the past I only included one black and white (B&W) illustration of his works on my site, all the rest were in color. Now, in this series that I am presenting of his works, which Im uploading at the rate of one per week, they alternate between B&W and color, or how he spells it The British way: Colour. And here is one of the inked and penciled shaded ones. Since he left New York to move back to his native Argentina, I guess he can spell that colorful word any way he wants.

Although he is regarded as a Fantasy Artist, I consider Pascarelli as the finest Catfight artist ever. He can create women who are downright menacing Of which this rendering is one of them. Here is his visual humor at its finest, In an over-the-top sort of way. However he also can display at the same time his tongue-in-cheek humor in his catfights, which is coupled with terrific painting ability, in both color and detail. Needless to say I consider Daniel in that limited pantheon of fantasy painters, such as: Frazetta, Vallejo, and Achilleos. As concerns the DA censors, they contacted me back in September 2009 asking for written confirmation of his permission for me to display his works, in which I complied. This issue of copyrights has always been a sore point with a lot of members of Deviant Art who upload artworks. But there are serious legal and financial penalties that the DA Company can be subjected to if they do not show due diligence. I too chafe under these rules, but I understand and comply.
