Costume rules
-------------
-In general the purpose of this costume should be to show off a woman's personality and powerful presence...instead of going out of the way to show off her body.
-Nothing really tight, no cleavage, nothing above the knee, and no bare skin in between (bare arms are okay)
-The costume's function doesn't have to make sense for Leia or even the Star Wars universe. Any kind of clothing is okay.

Since I am generally bad at drawing faces, and even worse at drawing specific faces, I did not attempt to draw Carrie Fisher wearing the costume. Therefor this mannequin-thing.
Anyway, the goal of the contest was to design another costume, conform the rules mentioned earlier, using the same colours/materials/motifs from Leia's metal bikini, as seen in "The Return of the Jedi". What I did was: change the silk loincloth into a knee-length coat (because those are awesome) and make the brass belt-thing (is there a name for this?) that was originally part of it into a more decorative belt; rework the brass-leather bikini top into something of a decorative shoulder...thing; keep the boots and give her back her old blaster from "A New Hope".

Somewhere along the line, a bit of WH40k Commissar slipped into the pose. I have no idea how that got in there. ]]> [link]
