I drew her because I really enjoyed the TOMB RAIDER reboot. She is kinda different and looks more fragile than the other games and I think it's not that bad. Anyway I hope you like it because all the details on her took me so much time... It was endless haha.}

This is one of the Stocks that emerged at my last Shooting. We wanted to create a new "The Walking Dead" character, since I do not look like any of the already existing ones. But looking at the results I think it looks more like a blonde version of Lara Croft or Sarah Connor from Terminator. So I hope you like it.

Hey all! Well my good friend Jen and I, decided to do another collaboration together. She is such an incredible artist, and she did the colors to my line art absolutely perfectly. This piece is another one of my pieces for the Tomb Raider Calendar project (it'll be for a summer month). When I first did the line art, I really wanted to do something different, that's not been done too much. I've seen very little pieces that feature Lara surfacing from her trip to retrieve the Seraph in TRII, let alone hardly any from the Offshore Rig level. So I decided to do a piece that would feature both the Sola suit and the level itself and some nice little nostalgia for players and fans of TRII. Anyways, we love feedback, and comments are always welcome!

Rooftops of the Mighty Barkhang

Over the years, I have found that different types of lighting and color of lighting can be an especially rewarding challenge to do in my artwork. This particular piece, inspired by the Rooftops level of Tomb Raider II, was one of the more difficult challenges I have done.

The Barkhang monastery is a fictional version of the Jokhang monastery in Tibet. I studied the Jokhang from many angles and perspectives to help me create the Barkhang rooftops, however, the lighting was done completely from my own imagination. I thought sunrise would be a most beautiful way to crown the magnificence of the monastery's roofs and the sacred Dharma Wheel flanked by the two llamas.

I used a limited pallet of cool pinks, cool purples, umbers, grey blues, cool greys, and Naples yellow-type yellows. For the reds I employed carmine, raspberries, cool pinks, cool browns, and even blue of all things.

I am always seeking to improve my technique, and will accept constructive critique with an open mind.

Please listen to this beautiful song which I feel goes perfect with this drawing and the setting. It is Sacral Nirvana by Oliver Shanti and Friends. I listened to it repeatedly as I drew and colored this drawing in. I picture Lara pausing for a moment looking at the very old and very beautiful place she is in, and feeling excitement in her heart knowing that she is near the crowning moment in her quest.

Because ive been playing lots of Tomb raider games since i bought them all on steam in a bundle few months back
hm. just played through tr 1 couple days ago. haha, Ive played tr anniversary, which is a remake of tr 1, like 2 hours or so and i just thought "meh". So i started the original and then i was all "fuck yeah!" aaaw, the new games may have pretty graphics, but they has nothing on the classic ones. ...or am i just neck deep in a nostalgia pool here? since, besides pokemon games, Tomb raider are the first games i ever remember playing as a kid.
though the wery newest game fucking rules too. I got so hooked on it and blazed through the game in a few days and then i was sad its over. Its so different from all the others. I love the story and the new combat mode with manual aim is fun... I loved sniping enemies with the bow

But anyways, in my crazy nostalgia, i decided to doodle Lara Croft. ...this was actually tricky, coz i fucking suck at drawing curvy ladies.
