We decided to brave the wind and rain at BelleCON to get some shots outside by the river. I'm pretty sure it began to downpour about 2 minutes later XD

This costume is based off of a Chun Li figure, you can see it here [link]

The dress is based off of a New Look pattern and is made out of white stretch sateen - it is lined and faced. I trimmed all the edges with black bias tape, and also used it to add the design to the front of the dress. The sash is made out of crepe back satin and is held in place with snaps and velcro. I also used velcro up the side of the dress to close it and also on the front flap. Having it velcro instead of zip made it possible for me to lay the dress flat while I painted it. The design was transfered on with tracing paper and the entire thing is hand painted. Then after a few coats of paint I traced the edges with a fine tip black pen. The boots and earrings were purchased off of eBay and I made the hair buns and bracelets.

I got another Chun Li photo!!!!!!!!!! This was taken by the very kind Indiglue whom you can find on Facebook.
I LOVE this photo since you can see the detail on my outfit!!!! You can see the gold on the end of my ribbons and the gold surrounding the bull horns! [buns] Also the design on my white band [which for my own sake when I was making it I nicknamed the obi]
Grrrrrr....Angry Eyebrows!
Did I mention how I like this photo? Despite my pursed lips and angry face?

Street Fighter - Chun Li and Vega

Another round of Chun Li and Vega photos direct from MegaCon 2012.

The props were really a new territory for the two of us, I think they turned out ok for our first try, but we decided to try something new for MegaCon. This time we sculpted the mask from Paper Clay instead of Model Magic, we still used the plastic Jason mask as a base. After three days of drying the Paper Clay was light weight and hardened. Originally we tried using plaster cloth but that ended up not working out too well for us. We then attached some D-rings to the side of the mask by "gluing" them on with Sculpey clay and then we baked it in the oven. Instead of attaching the mask with elastic we opted to use velcro which was so so much better. Our goal for the claw was to make it as light weight as possible. The base of the claw was made with thin balsa wood and the actual claws are square wooden dowels. We glued these together and the covered the base with Paper Clay. Once it dried we sanded it smooth and then painted the whole thing. Since it was so light weight all it took was a small strip of velcro to attach it to the black glove.

Many thanks goes to my friend Samantha for posing for me for a mini photoshoot at my first con, Youmacon 2009. Chun Li is one of my favorite characters from both the Video Game and Movie with the title "Street Fighter"!! I use to play the game a lot in the past and often picked Chun Li because she was the only girl fighter and I Loved her kick. I also own the movie Street Fighter - Legend of Chun Li. In the movie "Legend of Chun Li" she wears a blue outfit. In this photo the Chun Li Cosplayer is wearing a brown version of the outfit instead. I Love both the pose and the smile that she is giving me. This is the best photo from the photoshoot.

So this is my first chibi character. I thought it would be funny to go to ACEN cosplaying an idol otaku. My idol? Yaya Han. I made a hapi coat and used this image on the back of it, printed onto a fabric sheet and attached using fabric glue. I was thrilled when she signed it!
