These were created by covering rubber footballs (the lame ones you can find in 99p stores) with newspaper and kitchen paper, so they're really easy to make. I covered each ball with 2 or 3 layers of each material then left them on selotape rolls until the PVA had dried.

I will go over how I made the one that's been cut into in the next pic I upload. ^_^

I don't own Samus or Metroid or anything like that, this is just a Cosplay I plan to wear for a convention. As always if you want to help or be helped out I am open to comments! ]]>

The hand cannon is TOTALLY a Mega Man reference (or Metroid depending what fan you are).

Once I'd marked a rough edge around the ball using a pencil (and mirror XD), I cut around it and tried it for fit. As soon as I was happy with the fit, I took some air drying clay from my 'Revenge Project' and mixed it with a fair bit of water in a ceramic mug. When I was satisfied with the consistency of the clay I used a brush to dab it inside the paper ball.

This is a trick I came up with while creating the chestplate for this Cosplay, as the cardboard kept bending out of shape and was driving me crazy. XP So I looked through my art gear and found the clay, but as clay is quite heavy I figured I'd water it down so it was more like slip. This worked perfectly and held the shape I wanted, so I decided to use the same trick to keep the shoulders rigid.

As well as the clay layer inside, I am going to pad out the shoulders with wadding so that instead of being crushed on the train to the con they just dent at most. ^_^

-Agent Upsilon (GR-2): The youngest brother. Upsilon is a little softy with a strong rage. Thicker armor and a modified rifle, you wouldn't want to be cornered by him.
