I am surprised at how many people actually like this girl.

Well I dunno, I was wanting to draw something, and found myself watching 's grey-scaling video on youtube;

And decided to give her technique a quick go. I've done grey-scaling before in pictures, but haven't done it in a good long while. Also she does it a tad different, so, yeah.

It's not as primed and polished as I would usually do. I did not outline this with the tablet, it is actually a pencil sketch that was drawn on paper and scanned. And as far as the shading goes? If I spent more time on it it may have turned out better. But it was a quick something I wanted to do. I actually would have preferred cell shading. So maybe this could be considered a speedy sketch/painting/drawing?

Other than her freaking markings. Which took possibly the longest to do, at-least, it felt the longest LOL.

Anyways.

Happy halloween, I hope you will enjoy the picture. Its again my favourite place and time, early Colonial America. The citizens of one small village found soemthing bizzare and scarry in the fields. How the story continues, I will leave for your imagination.

The picture was partially done as a small memorial for my cat, who was very important for me. And I love pumpkis, so here is the result.
It was a most complicated halloween picture till now. Din't use any refs, apart of some tree photos for better shape.
done in some 20-30hours, in the nightime after work.

I am gonna try to take a twilight picture tomorrow if the pumpkin lives that long. My camera sucks at really low-light shots like this.

The image was a little too complex and the carving was a little too clumsy on this guy for my tastes. I prefer the traditional clean-cut, no midtone chunky cats of years past. But this design will make a nice painting later.

I was a highwayman this year (went to my costume ball on Saturday). Inspired by Black Adder's "Amy and Amiability." The event photographer was a French aristocrat and I swear, if I was socially well-adjusted in any way at all, dammit, I would have snuck up behind him with my pistol and demanded he hand over all his valuables. *sigh* Missed opportunities.

October illustration for my calendar (still not ready, will take care of this next week).

Again Kiki, my favourite Maneki Neko character (next to Lauris (the black kitten). I am fussing over her story for a project and after finishing the script I am just like "why on earth do I have to do Kulla, I wanna do Kiki ;____; " (of course my publisher is not approving )

since I am a "winter child" (born in November), autumn and winter are my favourite seasons. Perfect time for writing new tales and stories.

*Credits: Leaf brush from insanestock helped a lot . I tried to paint those leaves but it just turned out very odd.

I was ustreaming it and then my computer messed up and I lost the entire file and had to start over from an early WiP which was practically starting over completely. It looked so pretty at the time too, oh well, Im sure its a law somewhere that you have to lose an art piece atleast once a year.

I just want this one to get out of my photoshop and start something else. Its as close to halloweeny as Im going to get. I cant manage to make holidays inspirational.

Clark and Pumpkin

I wanted to show this photo I took today, to show this amazing kitten named Pumpkin. [ Clark at 6-7 weeks old on the Left, Pumpkin, 8-9 weeks old on the Right ]

Pumpkin is going to be 9 weeks old on Tuesday. She lacked nutrition, and care from the woman who let her cat have a SECOND litter or kittens. The woman outright refused to let her kitten go to a rescue where she can be treated and cared for, saying that she doesn't believe it's appropriate for her to go to one home and then another, whether she's desexed, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped or not.

Thanks to someone who bought the kitten from the woman, we have a chance to save this beautiful little girl. She has worms and is being treated for them, it's no wonder she is not getting the nutrition she needs. She will be vet checked in the morning, and given special needs items to help her grow. Hoping for the best possible outcome for this beautiful little girl. She may be small, but she has spunk. She is mentally where she needs to be, and is loving playing with Clark, and being cuddled, and trying to rip at my curtains XD

Thank you for taking the time to read this I hope to have good news to update with this week.

Edit: Sadly, Pumpkin didn't make it. The vet found a defect in her stomach, and her body was so toxic, and she was too tiny to try to open up with only a small chance of saving her.. So they had to put her down

uuughhhwhyyy.
This started off as a random doodle of Moose carrying Wish in a pumpkin, and then one more puppy.. and another... and GAH. Too many puppies!
It was fun though, bringing old and new characters together like this. Definitelyyy uhh. Rushed the coloring. Figured if I didn't push myself to get it done today, though, it would never end up getting done!

Sorry if you were expecting some awesome original thing and not generic stuff like this lol.
Anyway it's a redesign of an old old oc.

This pic gave me problems mainly cos I was a dumbass and merged the character layers together too early. Then the background was like how do you do pumpkins and trees D| and I added a fail cat too lol. Overall the pumpkins and clouds are the most annoying crappy thing.
The pic was fun though as I tried different colouring approaches but half the time I was thinking ffs just end already but that goes for every pic I do EVER so yeah XD

Dusty and 'his pumpkin', which is technically a little squash. The original photo was just kinda blah, so I decided to spice it up a little in Photoshop.

Dusty is one of the new outdoor/stray kittens from this summer, now about 2 months old. I was lucky enough to catch him when he was about ready for a nap and being cooperative, so I was able to get quite a few nice shots of him with this "prop" lol.

Nikolei and Petrushka, two Amur tiger cubs (Panthera tigris altaica) at Jungle Cat World, are introduced to a pumpkin for Halloween and don't quite seem to be sure what to do with it.

Naturally, having an odd orange thing in the middle of your enclosure is bound to pique your interest. For tigers, one would expect that they would immediately begin tearing it apart. However, both Nikolei and Petrushka decided to be much more subtle. Both of them laid around the pumpkin, grabbing it, sniffing it, licking it...perhaps seeing if it was edible. Pumpkins are great for tigers since they can use their claws and teeth against its relatively soft form to their heart's content. I don't think these two have quite gotten the hint yet.

Perhaps they're trying to decide what kind of jack-o-lantern pattern they want?

The tiger can be divided into 9 subspecies: 4 are currently critically endangered and 3 are already extinct. Zim Halloween Pumpkin

Dad got me a pumpkin on Halloween and so I had no choice but to carve it. I haven't carved a pumpkin in about four years. Just to annoy him, I DIDN'T carve a boring old bat or freaky little cat, I drew my own design of Zim, taped it on the pumpkin and carved Invader Zim on my Halloween pumpkin instead. X)

Dad was.... not amused. My shoulders slumped and I cut Zim's arms off #1 because I felt emo and #2 they were falling off anyway. Originally he was holding them up like "Bwahahaha" but I cut too close to his shoulder. They wouldn't have lasted.....

The hardest parts, of course, were all the little tiny close parts, like his antenna and neck. >.O Darn irkens and their noodle-like bodiezz...

Real Leopard Pumpkin Carving

For one of my pumpkins this year, I decided to do my same leopard pumpkin pattern, which I used on a fake one before, on a real one. I submitted it for a pumpkin carving contest at my school, and can you believe it didn't even place?!! The winner pumpkin had two holes (not even well cut) for the eyes and some pumpkin guts spilling out the mouth. And that was first place. Second and third were even more lame. I am so mad.
I like how it turned out though. I think it looks much better than the fake one.

This is Number 49 - Stripes in my 100 themes challenge

This is also my Halloween picture for 2009, yay! I decided to draw Gwen from Guild Wars, she is such a cute character and I adore her to bits.

I decided to go for a happy Halloween image, rather than a traditional dark or "scary" one I really enjoyed drawing this, it made a well needed change from drawing horses all the time, even though I definately need to practise shading humans more. So please, no critisism on that! (I know where I've gone wrong, so I don't need people telling me about it.. Positive critisism, ie how I could improve things, is always welcome, just please, no ranting and analysing)

Just for fun I counted all my layers aswell and they came up to 83.. I know, I like to do every single bit on a new layer, just in case! The character, of course, belongs to ArenaNet and is not my creation.

My official entry to the Guild Wars Halloween Art Contest 2010.

Concept:
Mina is my main character in Guild Wars and, although she has a good heart, she tends to have violent tendencies due to her love for battle. So during Hallow's Eve, I imagine her carving on the skulls of her opponents instead of pumpkins while looking good doing it as any mesmer should be!

Elements in the picture and their meanings:

-The skull that she is holding is a Charr skull or at least what I imagine the Charr skull to look like. I looked through feline skulls over the internet and put horns on it. Mina fought the Charr in the past, especially during the Northern Wall mission with two of her friends (My ranger and monk are also in the picture):

She doesn't have a deep seated hatred for the race unlike Gwen. Simply put - anyone that would cross her would surely end up the same way and this Charr wasn't so lucky (Or was he? It did get a kiss from her )

-The cat, the fire imp (on the wall) and the dagger are shoutouts for three of my Guildies in The Beautiful Oblivion [EON] - Sylas the Lynx ('nuff said) , Murke Faery (she had a mischievous fire imp as a pet) and Vale the Shade since his story involved a pair of (talking) daggers infused with fragments of his brother's soul - Madness and Malice. Well, they didn't have pumpkin handles but I can imagine Madness dressing up for the occasion

-The dragon carving on the skull serves two purposes - The long awaited Guild Wars 2 sequel and our guild emblem which is a black dragon for the rest of my guildmates.

-The Harvest Moon. I always loved Guild Wars rendition of this. I sort of combined the orange skull faced version with the white grinning version . I couldn't pick between them!

-The Raven on the window - Ravenhawk is my username in GWGuru forums and Mina is sometimes nicknamed as Raven - possibly due to her dark hair and overall mysterious persona.

-Obsidian Armor - Mina is usually seen wearing her black elite rogue's armor. I always wanted the Obsidian Armor set for her and that was made possible by the wonderful people of GWGuru's Nolani Forums. Earlier this year, I decided to take on Guild Wars commissions to purchase this armor and more importantly, challenge myself to getting better at drawing. So this is for them - the amazing people of Nolani.

Not to mention Tzu of GWGuru started the Nolani Halloween Workshop that I joined in:

The latest addition to the -HEADS series

here we have Pumpkinhead, Cathead and Egghead

I think i spent all my energy on Cathead...and she is my current favourite. In contrast Pumpkin just drove me batty and Egghead wasn't nearly as sucessful as I would have liked >_< But I can't complain, they still look nice And i hope you guys like them! I've been getting some ace feedback from these which really encourages me to make more.
