I said I wouldn't do another Labyrinth drawing, but. Here we are.

Every time I watch this movie, I feel like I'm ten years old again, learning for the first time what it is to want something so badly but knowing it doesn't exist. But then, that was Sarah's mistake, and she found out that some fantasies are just fantasies for a reason.

Some weeks ago, I dreamed that I was at some formal event at which I danced with David Bowie and Alan Rickman. I was a crap dancer, but we all had such fun (and then I sat and talked music with Tom Waits). So at least my dreams do right by me sometimes!

This dog looks quite friendly but I can assure you, that if his leash wasn't strong enough I would have been eaten alive. Taking a good picture of him wasn't easy because he was barking and jumping around like a fool. Please don't tell me that his eyes are not in focus. That's what I intended to do. I thought it was more interesting for once to focus on his nose than on his unique eyes.
Please tell me what you think.

Well here it is! the new, improved and re-vamped Such a Fooled Heart! This is how i will be doing this comic and Cracked Actor Wonderland from now on.

Yes i realize it may look strange. This is due to my photoshop deciding to glitch at the last minute at goof up my layer placement. i tried to fix it the best i could, but my efforts were far from completely successful. i love the last panel, but sadly that is where a majority of the damage is done. this is also why parts of the top panel are white.

future pages will be better i promise!

This is a 3 piece mural of the many faces of David Bowie that I did for the Fool's Brigade Annual Benefit Concert in Charlotte, NC - 2008. The theme of the show was "Loving the Alien - A Night of Bowie"

It is a really big piece, and, due to the fact that the space I was in at the time was really tiny, I had a hard time getting a photo of it from a good angle.

Each piece separately measures 24"x36" and the whole piece together is 72" wide.

Oil pastels on poster board.

 So I came up with a new game for myself today. It's not really creative but I liked the concept. I took a line or two of lyrics from songs and tried to arrange them into a meaningful poem. I don't know if it worked but I will admit I like the outcome. 

My favorite stanza is iii.

The title is part of the line There's such a fooled heart beating so fast in search of new dreams from As the World Falls Down by David Bowie.

Please feel free to leave me comments telling me what you think of it. I might try to write another lyrics poem if I get the urge.

**Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy (His actual middle name! poor thing)

Slytherin is kind of like a hierarchy. There's always the Small group in charge for each year. When Harry was in school, it was Pansy Parkinson, Blaise Zabini, and of coarse, Draco Malfoy. Well, now, its Scorpius Malfoy, Albus Potter, and Salicia Zabini (Fear her. Everyone does...never Al at times).

Scorpius is very confident of himself, at times to the point of cockiness but never to the extent of his father.

**Here's the big difference between Draco and Scorpius!!! Scorpius is not his father's clone. Draco put on a big show to convince people that he was confident and better than everyone. Scorpius just knows he's pretty awesome and so doesn't feel the need to make a fool of himself every other day.

The Malfoys were careful in how they raised Scorpius. They are a family that is all about appearances, and in the past, it was politically acceptable and in fact, expected for pure blood families to view muggles and muggleborns as inferior. While the Malfoys still believe in much of what they had in the past, they realized that Scorpius had to behave a certain way when he got older in order for them to regain their previous prestige.

When it comes to politics and social ideology, he's pretty conservative, especially when he's younger and all his opinions are pretty much based on his families'. He believes that house elves are perfectly fine serving wizards as long as they are treated reasonably. He believes that wizarding government is for wizards, and if centaurs and mermaids and werewolves or whatever else wants to have rights, then they all should just form their own governments like any civilized society would.

Scorpius is a proud Slytherin and isn't above jinxing someone simply because they got on his nerves.

He's popular, but more for his quidditch skill and his position as the malfoy heir than anything else. In other words, he's Slytherin Popular.

he's seeker of his quidditch team and is very good at it. He normally doesn't brag too much about this, unless its with rose or james because it pisses them off. He enjoys that.

He actually kind of keeps to himself, not liking to waste words on pointless argument. He can have light hearted conversations with friends and family, but if he doesn't know you well and has no interest in knowing you, he won't waste his breath.

** His good qualities- He has an overall calm demeanor and doesn't like to talk about people behind their backs.

Scorpious *shrugs cooly* "If I can't stand someone, they'll know about it. But they'll know about it from me, not from someone who over heard me saying so"

When he gets to know Rose better, he starts to reevaluate how he sees the world. But if anything, they alter each other's thinking, but can't completely change each other's minds...they reeeaalllyyy hated each other in the beginning.

He was very sickly as a child, allergic to almost everything. Then he had a really good summer one year and gets all athletic, tone and lean and well...kind of hot...ok not kind of. HE IS HOT!!!

He's been going to Westerfield ( the wizarding school of the arts) every summer since he was five. He can sing and ballroom dance with the best of them, just as any well bred gentleman should...plus his mother is a opera singer. Come on!

He's known Salicia since they were little. He's pretty much the only one in Hogwarts who's never been afraid of her. (that includes her four brothers)

Fun Facts- He's very picky about who he calls a friend. He has 'associates' and 'acquaintances' but his short list of friends include Al, Salicia, the Zabini boys, and eventually Rose. Its not that he's a loner, he's just very realistic on what a 'friend' actually is. And he realizes that most people don't have as many friends as they think they do.

He spends just about every summer with the Potters for at least a week. Though he may not agree with all of his ideals, Scorpius deeply respects and looks up to Harry.

Scorpius' wand is famous. After Harry gave Draco's wand back shortly after the war, it never worked quite right for Draco. Curiously, it worked just fine for eleven-year-old Scorpius who was having trouble finding a wand that would choose him. Yeah, that's right, Scorpius uses the wand that defeated Voldemort. BADASS if i say so myself!

Oh and Jinxy, the Malfoy's house elf, holds a special soft spot in his heart. He loves Jinxy and will defend her from big dogs, mean comments and raisins. Jinxy doesn't like raisins. [link]

I Labyrinth, as does anyone with any brain whatsoever. It's a simple equation: Bowie = God; Henson = God. Bowie + Henson = Cosmic event too succulent even to be thought of for too long!!! Thus: the magic that is Labyrinth.

Please note: featured are "Sarah" and "Jareth." NOT Jennifer Connelly and, despite how perfectly he effing BEASTED the role, not David Bowie. They are characters, not actor sketches, so don't blow a gasket because they don't look like they do in the movie (And if they do...well...hey! That's cool too! )

I LOVE Labyrinth! Many of you, lately, have wondered about my line "You remind me of the babe". Well, this is the movie it's from. This is one of the greatest scenes in the movie where Jareth the Goblin King dances with Sarah at a Masquerade Ball and sings to her. I'm a total shipper, but if Sarah doesn't want him, I'll totally take him! XD You have to see the movie to respect it. If you haven't seen it, it's about a girl who wishes her baby brother away and he's stolen away by goblins and she has to rescue him but she has to find her way through this Labyrinth. Best of all...THERE ARE MUPPETS IN IT! 8D Original Muppets, not like Miss Piggy and Kermit. They are made for the movie. Seriously, people, watch it!

Latin scene in English:
The Goblin King watched how the humans carried away Sarahs father and stepmother from a distance. When the body of the small boy was carried away, he whispered under his breath. Time out.

The humans froze, the sound of the cars died and the clock in the main hall held its breath.

Two shapes rose from the ground and looked up at the ceiling with blind eyes. Their white hair hang down limply, their sunken cheeks and lanky limbs stiff, one giving off cold and one giving off warmth. King Jareth, you have stopped time. One declared with a voice like the wind. The other spoke then. Why?

Maturitas, Daemonion, welcome. The Goblin King welcomed them. I insist that you will help me. Jareth ordered while looking at the little form under the fabric. For I cannot do this alone.

Why should we capture mortal souls? Its against the rules. Daemonion argued.

Please reconsider your judgement. The Goblin King said a little frustrated. The offspring of these adults is to be my future queen. The child was meant to be the heir of my kingdom.

The blinds turned, now facing the man that stood between them. Their eyes were still staring up at the ceiling, milky white orbs reflecting the ancient knowledge. And what should we do with these souls?? Maturitas asked. Should we decide to save them?? Daemonion said.

Give them a peaceful life in the lands beyond. I will make sure Sarah will meet them later.

The blinds eyes moved slowly, ghastly to Jareths temples. Daemonion purred. This deed will not be for free. On which Maturitas replied. You know that, dont you? A frightening wide smile spread on their faces.

Your reward will have to wait, fools! The king barked, one which Matirutas and Daemonion snarled. The lost girl upstairs could take her own life any moment! The words fell over his lips so fast and intense that the shapes cringed and almost shied away. I am a king of my word and I tell you we will take care of this later!

Daemonion growled and held out his hand to Matirutas, which they lay palm to palm, their long fingers reaching up. Their forefingers touched Jareths temples and magic gathered around them visibly. Save these mortals souls from the tunnel they have been forced into, let them be sent to a peaceful world with our ancient power, let no harm befall on them. For the king of the goblins has blessed these lost souls!

All three of them let out a sigh, closing their eyes. Then Daemonion and Matirutas took one step back, their eyes dimming from a frightening complete blackness to the milky human shaped eyes. Its done, don't forget that we'll be waiting for our reward. Matirutas reminded him. Yes, you know what happens when we don't get our reward in time! Daemonion smirked wickedly, Matirutas starting to laugh deeply. Slowly they faded away and their laughed dimmed until there only was a complete silence left.

Jareths head spun and it took him some moment before he had regained composure. Time in. He said almost carelessly as he rubbed his temple.

The clock started ticking again, the engines outside roared to life and the mortals moved again.

Well, since I got into reading fanfics, Ive been amazed by the various points of view about the relationship between Sarah and Jareth. Frankly, I always stuck pretty close to the plainest, simplest, most canon pairing hes a bad guy, neither of them love each other. Dont get me wrong, Jareth was my first love (at the age of 7!), and still rocks my stripey socks right off. I just didnt see him telling the truth about his feelings for Sarah... also since Sarah was 15, that would have been a bit icky; but thats neither here nor there. My point is, I wanted to write briefly from a POV with Sarah that was both canon-based and a bit more realistic. First, she never would really be able to know what was going on in Jareths mind. No one ever can, except himself. Second, opportunities in life rarely come twice, so its likely that she would never see him again. Third, she would obviously come to be ambivalent about him, simply because womens feelings change a lot when they stop being girls, and he was literally the stuff her dreams were made of.

Shy Mountain Moon-Viewing- Old

Hiyas, everybodys~!!!

This is a very sweet, sad little picture of Shyla I drew a long while ago but I never got around to finishing.

She's sitting on a mountain-top on Irk, looking at the moons. I drew this one before the "Domestic Scene" pic, and her eyes are still too far apart! Also her legs came out too thin, but they just looked so GOOD! I had to keep it~!

But I really loved this pic, because it's a very sweet, yet sad, picture of Shyla. And the song from the movie "The Labyrinth" -the old one with David Bowie in it!- from the dancing scene is what I think of now when I'm looking at this pic.

She has such a sad look, yet with a bit of hope in it. You can really tell what she's feeling.

So here is the picture I've been working on for a few weeks... started out as being a contest entry but I missed the deadline... then Labyrinth came on and it morphed into Marise's Fullbring let loose to the dance scene... I think I got a bit carried away...

The way I imagine going is a bunch of Gillians ruin a nice date, Marise panics goes through the whole "Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered..." speach and volla! Shinji becomes the Goblin King and the Gillians become his court.... move over David Bowie move over....

Companion piece to

Something I did up for myself in between commissions and work, as it was brought to my attention that I don't do nearly enough with my own characters. >.>

Opted to go with the basic of basic colouring skills I have in order to keep that organic feel to it all.

Part 2 of 2

~lover-martyr and I were discussing our (D&D) characters recently, and it sorta went along the lines of how in game, it really seemed like they were fairly one dimensional characters; D'anna the heal-bot/bait who never really got to find herself and was branded the "emo-child" of the group, and Shaelynn with her "if I can't kill it, its not worth anything to me /ignore" type cast. We sadly never got to really play them out the way we would have liked. Behind the scenes of our sessions however, we developed them, gave them personalities, flaws and emotions, though some were more easily hidden. To quote ~lover-martyr

"I find it most compelling of her character that in a world where regardless of what she did or how hard she tried, she could never feel like she belonged anywhere; and when her faith seemed the most strained, and her despair overwhelming, she did something so very few people ever do - she CREATED something to believe in, and she MADE herself a place in that religion."

Poor D'anna was so overlooked by pretty much everyone in the party, shrugged off for the most part whenever she tried to do anything or be noticed, yet somehow she of all people became the moral compass despite her own insecurities, self-doubt and two rather nagging voices in her head competing against each other. Through it all, she always put herself aside for others, more often than not just barely holding on to her own sanity for the sake of everyone else. She became a saviour, a guide, a healer, a crutch and a martyr. She threw herself completely into helping others that she lost sight of herself, instead falling into who everyone thought she should be and needed, instead of becoming who she should have been.

Sadly, only one person ever saw through that, and quite literally fought her tooth and nail to try to get her to see it, but despite his attempts, she held tightly on to her "duty", denying herself and denying him, wrapping herself so wholly in what she'd convinced herself to be the truth because she thought she didn't deserve anything more. She'd lost her True Love, been used and abused by others, in her mind, why should she deserve any better? Surely if she did things wouldn't have been so terrible, right?

It took her a few millennia, a Love returned, a revelation and realization, to finally begin to do things for herself because SHE wanted to, because she finally felt she deserved it after everything that had happened to her.
