I'm just a huge fan of Rippy and I couldn't find a good wallpaper, so I decided to make one myself ^^ Not much to say about it, I spent a few hours editing it and I edited it in Vegas. I know it's not appropriate software to edit pictures, but I don’t use Photoshop, so...
Anyway, hope you like it ) Enjoy )

EDIT: I've fixed a few things, it should look much better now ><

I also decided to make a little explanation about this wallpaper. I believe that colors that suit Rip the most are red and violet. The wallpaper I made actually shows Rip's dual personality. The violet color shows her gentle and innocent side, while red shows her, let's say, true nature. The violet aura surrounds her innocent pose, while she glows in red and yellow on the background, with her deadly stare.
I actually wanted to put her smiling face in the background first, but decided it was too harsh and left this one instead, I think it suits better here, because when she smiles, she actually looks happy >< And that's not the mood I need for this picture. Here, she's just mad, pissed off and ready to kill anything that stands in her way.
By the way, yellow color is here just to make it look cooler

This is a print for Anime Conventions of Rip Van Winkle of the manga "Hellsing". I'm very proud of this picture! This is my best attempt at cell shading yet! *strokes the picture fondly* Too bad not many of these will sell, not many people like Rip because she is a Nazi and she only lasted, basically, two Manga Volumes. Oh well!

Notice, I've also watermarked it to prevent stealing, with my logo, twice. I am quite protective of this piece. I've heard many a time of others having their work stolen, I will not tolerate it done with mine.

One of the best female characters in the world X3 And her seiyuu (=Japanese voice actor) is amazing.

Rip Van Winkle from Hellsing. Lol, I actually drew a girl for once! She looks like a dude though, so it was an easy transition for me. XD I love her, she's so cute. I tried to adapt to Hellsing proportions a little bit, but the way she's drawn makes her look like she should be eight feet tall... I've actually been working on this one for quite a while, but I was too lazy to finish it.

Okay... This picture went through three pieces of paper before getting to this point, where I'm very proud of it. XD

1. 5 second trace of the original picture onto paper
2. place traced picture over another piece of paper and use permenant marker to go over the lines more finitely, letting the permenant ink bleed through to the next page
3. darken the lines formed on the new page and get brown expo marker to sketch out general screentones
4. based off of the other pictures, draw the final copy in ink pen on drawing paper.

...and that's how it was done. XD This picture was in my geometry report under the section that studied portraying 3-D perspective on 2-D planes. Rip Van Winkle happened to live up to all the expectations required to create a realstic-looking 3-D portrayal contained within a 2-D plane. ^^

I drew a vampire for Halloween! Miss Rip Van Winkle! Who I've been trying to draw for months and this is my first success.

For those of you that don't follow Hellsing manga, Rip Van Winkle is an artificial vampire produced by the Millennium Organization, the last straggling bits of the Nazi party which has taken to using the supernatural research done back in WWII to produce monsters. That's why she has the swastika around her neck. The Millennium Organization seems less concerned with the death of a particular people or racial purification as it is concerned with reawakening the war and causing whole-scale genocide, which the Hellsing organization is trying to prevent. Rip Van Winkle, despite her bubbly yet insane exterior is a rather tragic character in that she's set up to die from the beginning and knows this, and lives in fear of her coming death.

I did use a reference for the pose because she was so damn hard to draw, and I found one that I liked. Likewise, her hair in her native style is extremely hard for me to draw, so I jused *Ripje-Van-Winkle's excellent cosplay as a reference for the bangs and translating her into my style.

A quick picture I drew on my holiday ( which shows how big a backlog of pictures I still have to put up ) Drawn largely because I happened to have an appropriate volume of Hellsing to hand at the time.

While on the Hellsing question, does anyone know why the name Rip Van Winkle was chosen from this particular character? I am well aware that a lot of the Hellsing characters are either inspired by, desended from or direct copies/rip offs of famous fictional characters, but what does our dear millenium warrior have to do with the origional Rip Van Winkle, the man who slept for twenty years? The only solution I can think of so far, is that in beloved Enlgand, "Rip Van Winkle" can be used as a term for someone who is behind the times, no doubt an apropriate title for someone who still goes into battle with a musket.

Anyway, this is fanart so my artwork, but not my character, and all that jazz. You guys know the drill by now...

As always, advanced artistic critique will be highly appreciated. ^_^

I wrote this poem as a dedication to one of my favourite Hellsing characters, Rip van Winkle. I was thinking of her final moments, and what they must have felt like for her, waiting for Alucard to come. Probably knowing what will happen when he does. It's really a shame that her character didn't get the sort of focus that she deserved (story-wise, that is). I just feel that she shouldn't have been killed off so quickly. Rip, you live in our hearts and memories. Oh, and poems too.

The references to Samiel are from "The Sharpshooter", an eighteenth century masterwork of German composer Carl Maria von Weber. A few of the characters in Hellsing reference the opera in volume 5, so that is why it is mentioned here. The daisies reference is a nod to the big flower that was behind Rip at the beginning of one of the chapters in volume 5. I haven't a clue what kind of flower that's supposed to be, but I think it looks a little like a weird sort of daisy. Just so you know. ^~^
Oh, and all Hellsing characters and images are copywrite Kouta Hirano. So please don't sue me. o_O
