To those who are missing out, Shimejis are basically your "desktop buddies". Only, they do so much more than the typical Microsoft Word Paperclip(I still do like the paperclip though, but that's not what this stamp is about xD). They climb around your screen, walk around, multiply...

Important information:
Shimeji are little mascots that run around the desktop, and there are many others on dA. This is my first attempt at one. The original Shimeji can be found here: [link]
Shimeji can only be run on windows, and you will need the latest java.

Instructions for use (UPDATED)
1. Click download link on the side and wait for it to download
2. Double click the downloaded .rar file and a new window should pop up with a 'Sherlock' folder. If that doesn't happen, you need an extractor like winrar
3. There should be a button saying something like 'extract to'. Click it, and specify an easy to remember location. This should extract the whole folder to this location
4. Go to the extracted folder and double click the .exe to get started.
5. To remove, delete the folder
6. To edit the images (give sherlock ginger hair or w/e) go to the 'img' file and you will find all the .pngs. Edit these to your liking =]

Right clicking the icon at the bottom of the screen brings up a menu in japanese.
The options are:
1. Create a new sherlock
2. Have the sherlock come over to your mouse
3. Delete all sherlocks but one
4. Return any IE screens the sherlock may have thrown off
5. Exit

I've disabled comments after receiving quite a lot asking how to download these (even with the easy enough to follow instructions I already provided) and also that my shimejis aren't working and such problems like that. Please read the instructions below and visit the FAQ I linked if you're still having problems.

As for upcoming shimeji's, I may have mentioned it to some but there's a good chance I may not make the rest. I've neither the interest nor spare time to allocate to this project.
Following that up, I'd appreciate if people could please stop requesting for me to LINK them to the other shimejis. I honestly would share them with everyone if ever they existed but because they remain incomplete, I sadly cannot.

With that, thank you all VERY MUCH for enjoying my shimejis and for the lovely comments you left me. I really do appreciate them.

How to use:
1. Click button at the topmost right of this page to download file
2. Extract with winRAR
3. Under the folder Shimeji_Stocking > Click "Shimeji" App
4. Enjoy

I finally got onto the bandwagon! <3 Took me a while to make this, through the semester and whatnot. I really wanted a good-looking Terezi shimeji available, so I just made one myself.~

This one, while complete, is not exactly perfect. There are these pixel things that love escaping the lines, and I've tried to combat this problem as best as I possibly could. D: This just means that there will be an update to this sometime in the future. :3c

***EDIT: The file here is now the complete shimeji folder, ready for extracting and using, since people were having trouble with the img files alone.***

"If you download a whole shimeji folder and open it, you'll see that there are a list of folders, one in particular being an "img" folder. Here's what you do:

> make a copy of a shimeji folder and rename it to whatever you want (in this case, name it "Terezi Shimeji" or something like that)

> open the renamed folder and find the "img" folder and open that

> now locate the new zipped Terezi img folder, open it, and copy all of its contents

Happy Birthday ! Like I promised, here's spud :,D I actually have had him done for a few days, and was dying to upload him xD

oh! oh! And If you don't know what a shimeji is, its also known as a "desktop buddy" -- go google it :,D You need something that can open .rar files like winrar, and your computer has to support japanese text [because some of the files have to remain named in japanese, or it wont work]

Unfortunately though, his shimeji does have a few annoying white pixels under his head that I can't get rid of >:U I thought it was an erasing issue, but none of my frames had any major strays like that. It's not very noticable against light backgrounds though, thank god C:

And his slow walk cycle looks good -- but when he "runs" it looks so funny xD

If you download the zip version - zip folders ruin the Japanese text in some file names, so you need to:
1. Go to the 'conf' folder
2. Replace the 43kb file name with 動作 and the 10kb one with 行動.

What's a shimeji? Well, it's like a little desktop mascot that walks around your screen being useless but entertaining!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
A computer running on Windows (Sorry, Mac users. <8I I heard there's a way to get it to work on a mac but I'm not exactly sure, so I suppose google's your friend there.)
The latest version of Java.
Winrar or 7zip, to unpack the rar file.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Click the download link on this page and wait for it to download.
2. Extract the folder from the rar file using winrar or 7zip. You can do this by right-clicking on the rar file and...
If you have 7zip, choose 7zip>Extract to "Shimeji_PEWDIE\"
If you have winrar, choose Extract to Shimeji_PEWDIE\
3. You should now have a folder called Shimeji_PEWDIE! Open it up and click the .exe file. And BOOM SHAKA LAKA you got it =U=

MENU:
When you start the program, a blue button will appear on the taskbar. Right-clicking it will bring up a menu that will either look like a bunch of japanese or a bunch of squares. Since this will most likely be unreadable to you, here's what the options do!

1. Creates another Pewdie
2. Will call Pewdie over to your mouse
3. Removes all Pewdies except for one
4. Returns all windows that Pewdie may have thrown off the screen
5. Exits out of the program.

You can also right-click on a clone to remove them one by one.

IF YOU'RE USING A MAC!!! Check out this blog [link] and it'll tell you how to get the Shimejis to work on your Mac. -u-

TO UNINSTALL:
Just delete the folder. Wow VERY simple!

If you're having issues where it won't open and a box appears and says something in japanese, double-check to make sure you do have the latest version of Java.

FAQ

What is a Shimeji?
It's a Desktop Buddy. It just sits on your screen. You can edit the images, and that is exactly what I've done. It's not going to harm your computer.
How do I open it?
Once you've extracted it, click the folder and then the file called Shimeji. A little icon in your taskbar should appear and it'll just run on its own. Wait a bit, and it'll fall from the top.
WHAT ITS NOT OPENING YOU LIAR
Double check that the folder called conf has the proper filenames.

What is a "Shimeji"?

- Shimeji (しめじ) is a little desktop buddy that roama your screen. The original site actually calls it "the world's most useless mascot", which will probably give you a idea of it's purpose.

How to Install/Use

1.Just download one of the following packages and unzip it:

2.Run "Shimeji.exe".

That's all! No installation needed.
If you want to get rid of your shimeji, just delete the corresponding folder.

Program Menu
there are five choices if you run Shimeji and click the left botton on the icon!
1. Add more
2. Come here!
3. Leave just one
4. Get back the IE (Shimeji sometimes throws away the IE, FF or MSN windows. Clicking this Option will bring them back.)
5. Bye Bye!

Ive been working on this for far too long.

Because I wanted one. And there weren't any really cool ones. So I made one. Even though my art is far from 'really cool' xD
Oh well. Whatever.
I referenced a Karkat shimeji from here on dA (that my internet is being too slow for me to find you a link right now) But its a really amazing shimeji, the Karkat one, it has a lot more pictures than most and it looks really
good.
This one has extras because of the files I used.
My favourite one that looks really good is that he can actually run instead of just walk and walk fast. There's walk and run.
And a lot more too. :'D

There are some problems with it.
I'm not going to pretend there's not. xD
Like, for the BLUH (which you can really only see if you right click on the icon and select the 2nd one down, and then wait) It like... Its int he wrong place. But whatever. You can still tell what it is and all that. If you find any more really big problems or anything, tell me :'D

I went and made one. orz

A shimeji is basically a... well, like a little thing that walks around your computer moniter and climbs up it and occasionally steals your internet windows. It's cute and pointless. That's its entire charm. :'D

How to use:
1. Download here: RAR (or ZIP, if you'd prefer)
2. Unzip the folder
3. Double-click 'Shimeji.exe'
The China shimeji should then drop down from the top of the screen. ♥

Program menu (appears when you right-click on the flag icon in the bottom corner of your screen):
- Add more
- Come here!
- Leave just one
- Return my IE (for when your internet windows are kicked offscreen)
- Bye-bye!

Troubleshooting:
If you download the zip version - zip folders ruin the Japanese text in some file names, so you need to:
1. Go to the 'conf' folder
2. Replace the 43kb file name with 動作 and the 10kb one with 行動.

If the shimeji still does not work, please note:
- You need an up-to-date Java OR Java 6.

Edit: I've been getting quite a lot of comments asking about a .zip version, and let me tell you - I would put one up along with the .rar if I could get one to work. I've tried making a zip version many times, and it never worked.

FAQ:
1) Do I need any program? Other than Java, no.

2) I'm clicking it but nothing is happening, What do I do? Update your Java, and if that doesn't work, either try downloading the other file (If you downloaded the .Zip, try the .RAR), or find a Shimeji that does work and replace the .XML files in the CONF folder with the files of the Shimeji' that does work. Just delete the .XML files in Prussia's, and copy and paste in the one that do work. (( This has to do with the Japanese text being corrupted through the file transfer, it's a simple fix. ))

3) I am getting an Error, what do I do? I have heard of this problem fixing itself if you reinstall WinRar and the Shimeji or something. I don't directly know the solution personally, it's wise to look elsewhere.

4) Something else is happening, what do I do? ...I have no idea.

A long time ago ~iubireaxnuxmoare asked me to make a shimeji of their deceased cat. Since my cat had just recently died, I could understand that sentiment, and so for a long time I chipped away at a cat shimeji when I had the time. This shimeji's coloring is based on my dead cat, Dieter, but if you have your own cat you want to watch run around your desktop, here's a blank version you can color in as you see fit (give me credit for the base if you do). Please don't take this as an invitation to ask me for free shimejis, this was a special case.

Anyway this kitty doesn't have a lot of special animations or anything. They do have a hanging frame, a tail waving idle while sitting and standing, an extra falling frame, and a lengthened tailchasing sequence, but that's pretty much it. But maybe you'll get a kick out of him anyway. The conf files have been edited a bit but it's not too major really.

Shimeji is a little program that makes a mascot run around your desktop and cause mischief. You can find the original here, and by replacing the image files with your own images, you can make your own.

SOME IMPORTANT INFO

Shimeji can only run on Windows (I've heard there are some methods to maybe get it sort of working on a Mac, but I haven't heard if they really work or not) and you'll need the latest version of Java (which you can update here I think).

HOW TO INSTALL

1. Click the download link on the right next to the image and download the rar.
2. Double click the downloaded .rar file and a new window should pop up with a 'Shimeji_Dieter1.0' folder. If that doesn't happen, you need an extractor like winrar or 7zip. Download and install those, then try again.
3. There should be a button saying something like 'extract to'. Click it, and specify an easy to remember location. This should extract the whole folder to this location (MAKE SURE YOU EXTRACT THE WHOLE FOLDER, NOT JUST THE EXE FILE)
3. Go to the folder and doubleclick shimeji.exe (or shimeji.jar, i heard that works too). They should should fall on your desktop after a few seconds.
4. To remove the program, delete the folder.

This might also be helpful.

If you rightclick the little catface icon in your taskbar, it'll bring up a menu in Japanese. The options go

1. Spawn a cat
2. Come here!
3. Remove all of them but one
4. Bring back IE screens (They'll sometimes throw your browser windows around if they aren't fullscreen, and also MSN messenger I think)
5. Exit

You can also right-click an individual kitty and click baibai to get rid of them.

EDIT 02/08/12: Someone has graciously re-uploaded most of my shimejis, so I have now fixed the ZIP link for the English version. Sadly, the Japanese version is still broken. My deepest apologies, but this is the best I can do for the moment.

IMPORTANT: If ANYONE asks me for a request, I will find them, and shoot their dog. I have a list in my journals as to what I plan to make. I will not add anything to this list until I finish. If you ask for one, I will hurt you. Very, very slowly and painfully.

I am sick of answering the same question 20 times over. Please don't ask. I will not answer.

Following the crazy trend, I jumped on the shimeji bandwagon, and made yet another Shimeji~! This time: America~!

Shimejis are useless computer mascot programs! They look cute, throw things around on your computer, multiply, and generally annoy you while being utterly adorable at the same time. I love them~!

I used !crazy-chibi's England as a base model~!

America took me just about two months to finish, working on and off on it. By this point, I had done three shimeji sets, and was starting to get burned out. Because of the way I started and stopped, the style tends to change, as I found working at double size, then re-sizing afterward to be the best way to go.

This was also the first one I did using shimeji-ee. In the beta testing, I found some computers absolutely would not run it, so I have made a separate one in the old, original shimeji format.

This one is also special, because he blinks while standing around, and instead of 'eating', he enjoys a little AmeCan.

This America:

By right-clicking one of the Americas, you can call up the "Bye-Bye~!" command. By right clicking the flag icon in the 'Hidden Icons' menu, you can call up this list:

1. Add 1 more
2. Come Here! (Follows the mouse)
3. Leave Just One
4. Get Back the IE (get your windows back if the shimeji has thrown them offscreen. This also works if they throw your MSN window away.)
5. Bye Bye!

The only difference between the Shimeji-ee version and the old version is that the Shimeji-ee version is in english, and has an extra blinking animation when he stands still. The original does not have this.

No, it doesn't work for mac, but you can find a solution (my friend made them work for mac but dunno how.)

Also, some of you asked how it works... simply open the "Shimeji_Switzerland" file, then double click on the java file(the one with a blue teacup icon) named "Shimeji". Supposedly, a shimeji will pop out on your screen :).

Here's my contribution to the shimeji world! Grell Sutcliffe, shinigami extraordinaire, from my current obsession Kuroshitsuji.

The download link is off to the right. There you'll find a zip file with everything you need. Just unzip the file wherever you'd like your new desktop buddy. Inside you'll see a couple folders, but the only file you need to worry about is the one that says 'Shimeji-ee'. Make sure you click the biggest one! It's the JAR file. I've noticed that sometimes the shimeji won't start if you click the application.

The source files came from the Shimeji English Enhanced project [here], so a big thanks to them!

These little guys were all drawn in SAI and put together by me. If you find any weird animations or have any issues, just let me know in a comment here and I'll try to help you out.

For the love of Shinji, if you're having trouble with the Shimeji, and you're going to comment about it, PLEASE tell me what is wrong. Are you getting an error? Is the Shimeji simply not showing up at all? Please specify right off the bat so that I can help you as soon as possible!

So, it's finally finished! A million thanks go to for the help on the transparent backgrounds You freakin ROCK!!! L wouldn't even be close to being ready for downloading without your awesomeness Can't thank you enough! GO GIVE HIM LLAMAS!! XD

So here's the download link: [link] THAT DOWNLOAD LINK GOT SUSPENDED for reasons that do not make sense. I am going to try to work it out, but it may take a few days. For now, I uploaded a temporary file on Newgrounds. [link] Let me know if that does not work and I will tweak things. I am so sorry for the inconvenience.

OK, so what you have to do to get it to work:
Unzip the .zip file that you've downloaded and unzip it to your desired location. Now, open up the folder. Go into the folder called "conf". In there you will find a file called "10". Rename it "行動". And there's another file called "43". Rename that one "動作". And it should work!

Trouble renaming the files? Yeah. I've been getting that a lot. I'm afraid that I don't know exactly what's wrong. My guess is that it could have something to do with where you unzipped it to, though I'm unsure. I would recommend unzipping the file to your desktop. (: If you still are unable to rename it, either ask me (Please be specific. Is there an error message? If so, what does it say? Stuff like that...), or consult this FAQ [link] , though I'm unsure if it addressed that problem. If possible, maybe try asking them in the comments there? They're more experienced with Shimejis than I, so they may be able to give you a better answer.
BUT A SOLUTION HAS ARISEN! If you have a working Shimeji, take the files from that one and replace the ones that won't rename. If you have no working Shimejis... Well, I've no idea what to tell you. ._.

IF YOU'RE USING A MAC!!! Check out this blog [link] and it'll tell you how to get the Shimejis to work on your Mac. (:

If you already have a Shimeji and this one isn't working! typed this up, so follow it. If you already have some shimeji's, all you have to do is take everything from the "img" folder for this, (use WinRAR for this) and extract them to your already existing "img" folder for your other Shimejis. Do this with the folder "conf" as well. Then they'll come up!

If there's any problems that the previously stated solutions didn't fix, feel free to ask me about them. Though I'm certainly no expert, I'll be happy to try to help or refer to you to someone who can ^_^ Though it may be a good idea to skim through the comments to see if your question has already been asked (; And maybe try checking this FAQ [link] IF YOU GET AN ERROR MESSAGE, please post what it says! I can't help you if I don't know what the problem is!

I finally finished this, yessss! >w
Anyway, here it is! A shimeji of my robot character, ST1X!
What's a shimeji? Well, it's like a little desktop mascot that waddles around your screen being derpy and cute.

The original program was made by Group-Finity, I just made a skin for it.

ST1X will wander around your screen, climb on browser and messenger windows, play with an old empty can, and more! Be careful though, sometimes he gets mischeivous and will throw your windows off-screen. Also he may make more of himself. Don't worry though, you can keep his numbers in check and return any tossed windows to their rightful place using the menu. c:
Also if you ever get bored, you can just pick him up with your mouse and toss him around. XD ;

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
A computer running on Windows (Sorry, Mac users. <8I I heard there's a way to get it to work on a mac but I'm not exactly sure, so I suppose google's your friend there.)
The latest version of Java.
Winrar or 7zip, to unpack the rar file.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Click the download link on this page and wait for it to download.
2. Extract the folder from the rar file using winrar or 7zip. You can do this by right-clicking on the rar file and...
If you have 7zip, choose 7zip>Extract to "ST1X Shimeji\"
If you have winrar, choose Extract to ST1X Shimeji\
3. You should now have a folder called ST1X Shimeji! Open it up and click the .exe file. There you go! c:

MENU:
When you start the program, a blue button will appear on the taskbar. Right-clicking it will bring up a menu that will either look like a bunch of japanese or a bunch of squares. Since this will most likely be unreadable to you, here's what the options do!

1. Creates another ST1X
2. Will call ST1X over to your mouse
3. Removes all ST1Xs except for one
4. Returns all windows that ST1X may have thrown off the screen
5. Exits out of the program.

You can also right-click on a clone to remove them one by one.

TO UNINSTALL:
Just delete the folder. Simple as that. uHu

If you're having issues where it won't open and a box appears and says something in japanese, double-check to make sure you do have the latest version of Java.

what are shimejis? They're little characters that run around on your computer desktop and do cute and random things

How to use the Lillith shimeji:
1) download
2) extract / unzip file
3) open the folder, and find the file called "shimeji-ee" and has an icon that resembles the Java one, and double click. A box should appear where you select the Lillith Shimeji, and then click "use selected".
5) have fun! Oh, and if the shimeji steals the internet browser window you have open, just hurry and grab it, or you can right click the shimeji and select "restore IE!"

Credit goes to , I just changed the images into Lillith ones... so the Lillith images are (C) me.

Instructions for use

EDIT AS OF FEB. 2013: It seems that the shimeji doesn't work anymore! I'm really sorry, but i can't amend the problem; the computer I used to make the shimeji is broken and I'm stuck using a tablet to access the internet.

However, perhaps, if you can still open the files and copy them, you can copy a working shimeji's files and the replace the working shimeji's img folder with Casey's!

Instructions for use

3. There should be a button saying something like 'extract to'. Click it, and specify an easy to remember location. This should extract the whole folder to this location
4. Go to the extracted folder and double click the .exe to get started.
5. To remove, delete the folder

Shimeji is a simple program that creates little mascots that wander around on your computer screen. I drew the frames for this one; you can find others by other artists on DA and elsewhere, and you can find the original program here: [link] If you make any of your own please link me!

Instructions to run a Shimeji; sorry it's windows only! You also need the newest Java.

-Unrar the folder and doubleclick Shimeji.exe; the program will run right away and doesn't need to be installed. If you want to remove it from your computer, simply delete the files.

-Left click the icon on the bottom right in your taskbar to create a new Shimeji.

-Right click brings up the following options:

1. New Shimeji
2. Come to mouse
3. Delete all but one
4. Return IE/internet window to screen (when they throw it off)

Note: Please always remember to be careful when downloading exe files! Make sure to check the source and make sure to scan the file if you're worried, in case someone tampered with it to add something malicious. So far I haven't downloaded any corrupted ones but you can never be too safe!

i just found this out yesterday. chibi Prussia invading my comp. (Prussia's hattafutte parade ver. is EPIC--he sound so DRUNK! XD he <3 Italy)
shimejis still runs on every program you're on, unlike screensaver they wont disappear until you close teh app.

chibi Prussia walks, climbs, falls (clumsy), jumps, sleep crawling, follow your mouse, sitting lazily around, thinks about beer, changes to old prussia outfit, gilbird <3, multiplies...through eggs?! XD
i love to shake him around and he get all dizzy LOL

using my own fanart as a desktop wallpaper isn't considered vanity. period. XD i just LOLed seeing Russia pointing that rifle at chibi Prussia's head. *target practice*

FAQ: Please also realize I'm a novice at Shimeji making, only having made this one ever. U uU! I don't have all the answers, but I tried.

What are SHIMEJI?
They're adorable little desktop buddies! They'll keep you company and wreak havoc, mwa ha ha!

I downloaded her, now what?
You must have the program WINRAR to unzip the .rar or .zip file, depending which you downloaded. Highlight the Hinata Hyuga folder, and extract it to wherever you want! After you downloaded her, open the "Shimeji.exe" file. She may take a few moments to pop up, but she'll come!

How do I turn her off?
In the system tray there will be a little white box with what looks like a face. Right click it, and select the very last option. CLICK FOR VISUAL AID.

Is there a virus in the link?
A very silly question, there isn't. Many people have downloaded these, including myself on my own personal computers. If you downloaded a virus, you probably didn't download it from the links I provided.

The link(s) don't work?
I checked all three links, and they're all fine. If it takes you to some foreign site or doesn't work at all, it is NOT a problem on my end, but your's.

I keep getting a pop up about Java? (may pop up in Japanese)?
ANSWER FROM : If anyone is having trouble with Java. You need Java 6, not the updated version. When i first tried to download it an Japanese error popped-up right after i clicked the Shimeiji.exe. (you'll know when you see it, it includes the number 6) i learned from youtube tutorial that it only works on Java 6. Hope this helped abit.

Usually this is a big NO, but for this Shimeji, I do not mind! U uU Feel free to use my Shimeji as a base to create your own!

Help! Nothing is working to make Hinata pop up!?
There is one way I can think of that seems to have worked for everybody I told to try. Find a Shimeji, any Shimeji, that works on your computer. For example's sake, lets call it Sasuke, lol. So now we have two Shimejis, a tested Sasuke that works and a Hinata that does not.

Go into Hinata's folder. There will be another folder labeled "img", and when you click it, it's all her little frames. Highlight ALL of them, and cut them. Get out of Hinata's folder, go to Sasuke's folder, then to his "img" folder. Inside are all of Sasuke's little frames. Not for long! Paste Hinata's frames inside. When prompted, select "yes" to overwrite Sasuke's frames. Now try to open the Sasuke Shimeji. It SHOULD work, and it'll be Hinata. Then just rename the folder so it doesn't say Sasuke!

How to use:
1. Click button at the topmost right of this page to download file
2. Extract with winRAR
3. Under the folder Shimeji_Chuck > Click "Shimeji" App

(hopefully fixed) ZIP version - if you download this, remember to go into the Shimeji_HunterSmoker1.5/conf/ folder and rename the 81.7 kb file 動作, and the 12.7 kb file 行動, otherwise they won't work!
If you have Shimeji-ee, you can unzip this file into the img folder, then pick them from your image sets. More on how to do that on the shimeji-ee site.

Finally! Jeez this took me forever. For those of you whose heart ached when they'd call for each other as zombies, haha.
(Their zombie versions are here - Hunter and Smoker, if you want to compare or something)

Anyway, these two will wander your desktop and generally amuse each other in many different ways. They have a ton of frames (like 200, no joke) and new animations (five new while standing, fifteen while sitting, and even a wallclimbing idle! among others), so they should hopefully keep you amused for a while, haha. They'll also toss around your windows if you don't keep them fullscreen, but you can throw them around as well.

Their spawn animations are pretty gay, so if that bothers you ~~why are you watching me~~ don't download them I guess?
These two have heavily edited conf files, so I wouldn't mess with them too much unless you're familiar with that kind of thing.

Almost everything they do comes from something I've drawn for them, although a lot of them haven't shown up here since I haven't colored them, haha. For example, Smoker's fondness for cards, or their cowboy dream, and so on. If you poke around all the sketchposts I've done for them, you'll see where certain things come from.

Shimeji is a little program that makes a mascot run around your desktop and cause mischief. You can find the original here, and by replacing the image files with your own images, you can make your own.

SOME IMPORTANT INFO

Shimeji can only run on Windows (I've heard there are some methods to maybe get it sort of working on a Mac, but I haven't heard if they really work or not) and you'll need the latest version of Java (which you can update here I think).

HOW TO INSTALL

1. Click the download link on the right next to the image and download the rar.
2. Double click the downloaded .rar file and a new window should pop up with a 'Shimeji_HunterSmoker1.5' folder. If that doesn't happen, you need an extractor like winrar or 7zip. Download and install those, then try again.
3. There should be a button saying something like 'extract to'. Click it, and specify an easy to remember location. This should extract the whole folder to this location (MAKE SURE YOU EXTRACT THE WHOLE FOLDER, NOT JUST THE EXE FILE)
3. Go to the folder and doubleclick shimeji.exe (or shimeji.jar, i heard that works too). They should should fall on your desktop after a few seconds.
4. To remove the program, delete the folder.

This might also be helpful.

If you rightclick the little doublefemale icon in your taskbar, it'll bring up a menu in Japanese. The options go

1. Spawn a pair
2. Come here!
3. Remove all of them but one
4. Bring back IE screens (They'll sometimes throw your browser windows around if they aren't fullscreen, and also MSN messenger I think)
5. Exit

You can also right-click an individual pair and click baibai to get rid of them, haha.

I've disabled comments after receiving quite a lot asking how to download these (even with the easy enough to follow instructions I already provided) and also that my shimejis aren't working and such problems like that. Please read the instructions on their deviation pages and visit the FAQ I linked there if you're still having problems.

As for upcoming shimeji's, I may have mentioned it to some but there's a good chance I may not make the rest. I've neither the interest nor spare time to allocate to this project.
Following that up, I'd appreciate if people could please stop requesting for me to LINK them to the other shimejis. I honestly would share them with everyone if ever they existed but because they remain incomplete, I sadly cannot.

With that, thank you all VERY MUCH for enjoying my shimejis and for the lovely comments you left me. I really do appreciate them.

I've been wanting to make a Shimeji for a while now, and getting into Marvel sure gave way to create what I couldn't find. I am also aware there's a typo in the image.

Be warned its a .rar file.

Extract the folder onto your computer, to start the program simply open the folder and press the icon saying shimeji. The program starts automatically and should drop a little Deadpool onto your desktop.

Know this though, there are some issues with colored pixels that show around him at random times, and I couldnt seem to fix that properly. In any case, enjoy.

Ok so just a few days ago I decided to work on my own Shimeji.. and because I'll directly started playing with the xml files right at the beginning I thought I'd share my knowledge in expanding Shimeji animations!

I really appreciate feedback on this. I would like to know if it's understandable and if it worked for you.. I hope you are not scared by the huge amount of text.xD

If I get positive feedback I may consider making another one concerning adding fully custom animations.. but that's a bit more complex and involves editing both the actions.xml and the behaviors.xml...

EDIT2: IMPORTANT!! Just a little additional advise:
If you create multiple Shimeji in the img folder of such an xml edited Shimeji you have to make sure all of the pictures specified in the xml file are present or it won't start up because it can't find the pictures... so you also can't just take a Shimeji image folder from someone else and throw it into your img folder.. because it's highly likely that there will be missing files.. Hope I explained it somewhat understandable.. ^_^;
