I was asked if there was a way to make a book without sewing, so unless you use staples or something like that, this is the only thing I could think of.

Here is a really simple book that you can make anywhere at anytime that doesn't require anything more than a single piece of paper and some scissors.

As long as people keep requesting these tutorials, I'm more than happy to make them.

A Paper Mario Story

Once upon the time the idea to make a "drawing alive" blinked into my mind while playing Paper Mario: The Thousand year door. It was a very simple idea at the beginning, but then it grew up into a bigger. I spent part of my life (3 months ) on this: it's actually the best I could do. Enjoy it!

By the way, like the best fairy tales, also this drawing has its age: it has maybe 3 years...

Believe me or not, every single character is a piece of drawing. I cut everyone of them all and put everyone in his/her/its place into this landscape drawn in a big paper sheet (this took me about 3 months to finish). I was so afraid they escaped from the drawing, but they are still here luckily, after all these years: maybe because they like the landscape, or maybe because every one wants to have an important role on this wonderful scene!

Now the curtain is opened to you, too!

A hammer of the Hammer Bros has got lost somewhere... I told him not to trhow so far away, so it's not my fault! >=[

COMMENTS: I am fan of epic, symphonic, opera, rock.... music but few days ago i decided to hear R&B music. I get music from Faith Evans, Leona Lewis (the first album, i don't like the second), Alicia Keys... but i didn't sure about Beyoncé... i hate her fist album, the second is better and i like some songs but...her last album (I Am... Sasha Fierce) is really really nice. More serious, intimate, mature...a great art piece. I love the first CD, and the second is more rythmyc and more "beyoncé"(her alltime style) but attractive... I recommend it.
This portrait is about a R&B lady whose beauty has conquest my mind. Her "Single Ladies" video is one of the reason of this drawing...

^{More ATLAS and P-body shenanigans, based on my own co-op experiences.
Sometimes, at the end of tests, me or my friend would zone out. We'd leave the computer, check something--whatever--and our bot would sit around staring pensively into space.
Our favorite thing was coming back from idle, skipping off to the disassembling / reassembling chambers and finding our co-op partner chilling in our tube...thing. Thereby prolonging getting to the next test. Thus, annoying.
An enormous ping war would ensue. Co-op partner pointing at me to buzz off-- [link] --or me pointing at co-op partner to get out of my bloody tube, followed by co-op partner stealing my head, kicking me in the stomach, beating me up at rock, paper, scissors...
Every single time.
At least it stretched out the game.}

A Study in Paper No. 6: On the Town

Sherlock and John out for a quiet stroll on a crisp snowy evening.

I love paper sculptures and I love shadow boxes, so it was inevitable that at some point the two should merge.

Made from cardstock, cut as a single piece and then folded, no adhesives. It measures 9cm x 15cm x 6cm, give or take a few mm.

Brooklyn Bridge From a Single Piece of Paper

A paper sculpture of one of my favorite landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge. Built using my usual rules:

+ Designed so that it can be cut out in one continuous piece, then folded

+ No adhesives

+ Cutting and folding only (no coloring, drawn details, etc.)

Measures 12" long (making use of the full length of the original sheet) and 2 1/6" high.

Designing and assembling this was very tricky as many of the pieces are small or thin, and from many angles there's no easy way to support this during assembly. Also, since this is all in one piece, any mistakes in cutting/folding would essentially mean I'd have to start from scratch again, and this is probably my most complex shape to date. Fortunately it all came together well, with some patience.

The final sculpture is pretty sturdy; you can see a stack of quarters balanced atop one of the towers in the last photo.

And I also hope you're not tired of seeing my drawings in you inbox! because this year, I plan on drawing A LOT. and by that, I mean at least 2 deviations per week, more or less! XD

Soooooooo... about the drawing... yup, it's another true story of my life (brace yourselves.. 0w0)

Well, this is the "second part" I had told you about. It's nothing very special, really, but it was one of the things that absolutely made my year
Back in my old school, I met an awesome boy when I was at the seventh grade. He was always funny, and never took anything seriously. He was super popular, everyone liked him, but never stopped being gentle and kind to everyone. We were never in the same class, but he would come to my classroom every break time to see my drawings. I don't think he understood what I actually did, but he always had a comment to share, even tho he had a very.. different sense of humor. Pretty much like mine. He was light like the wind, always in a good mood, and always easy. And he was probably one of the most handsome guys I had ever seen yes, I had a crush.
One day tho, he suddenly disappeared after we finished eighth grade, and no one knew where he actually went. Life went on, I entered hight school, and finally, one year after, I had enough of that place (for those who don't remember, here's when I decided to move: [link]) so I did it. And guess what? I happened to move to the exact school he was studying at. We were both surprised and happy when we saw each other again, but there was something strangely different in the air. He was different. I don't know exactly what was it at the time, I just thought he seemed a bit out, like if he was somewhere else when other people talked to him. But life went on once again, and I met a boy, called Bren, who I happened to developed a huge crush on. Bren told me one day that the boy who was my old friend was walking with some very bad company, and that I should be very careful around him. I found that warning very strange, but in the end, I stayed alert. My friend came to me many times that year looking for some company, but since I was so worried about impressing Bren, I ended up acting uninteresting towards him, to see if he went away, and in fact, he did.
The following year (2011), for the first time, he was in my class. But we never spoke at the time. He even wanted to, but he felt a bit intimidated by my other "friends", who were the popular kids in that school. Yes, he had changed a lot. I had no idea how much, until I saw it. He had become the quietest boy in the class. The total, complete opposite of what he used to be. He used to be the joker, and now people were making jokes about him. No one noticed him, and when they did, it was only to send him away. But even I didn't notice him. I was too busy being invisible too.

So time passed again, and I met the kids. I used to have lunch with them everyday, and he would buy his lunch at the bakery and come back to the school to lunch alone. One of those days, he saw me playing with them, and finally came to speak to me, full of his charms (thats something he never lost!). I was a bit uncertain about it, and I believe he noticed it. He said he had to go, but the little girl who was with me (she was quite tough! xD) held his arm and told him to stay, otherwise she would punch him (LOL). He laughed, and then sat down again. He asked me if he could see my drawings, and I gave him my folder. The afternoon went on delightfully, for both of us. I really liked to have him around again.
The following lunch times were just the same. He adores kids, which is not typical of boys of his age, and they also adored him. He's still a big child on the inside, which is so rare those days. He would play and run with us when we were all together, and did not care what the others might think of it.

All this happened after October, and I know it is a short time, but it seemed like a whole life at the time. When he was with me and the kids, he said he felt free to be what he really was. And later that year, he actually regained courage to show himself to the world. All those days we spent together made him secure again, and he came to thank me for all the moments.
Everyday after lunch, we used to go to the library, and lay on the huge carpet on the children's area, and come to bother the studious people from my class (in a funny way, of course, since we had the exact same sense of humor) we would make everyone laugh to death xD
One day before the last day of school tho, we went to lunch together, but when we arrived at the library, we were the only ones there. He laid on the carpet, but this time, he turned his head to the ceiling. He was impressed, and called me to lay by his side too. When I looked up, I noticed something I never did on the rush of everyday life: the whole ceiling was covered with brilliant paper stars of all formats, made by the kids who went there. I forgot where I was for a moment or two, and forgot about the time. I think he felt just the same. We spoke about so many things, so many good things while we were looking at those stars. I think it was a moment of freedom. Perhaps the deepest I ever had.
The simplest of all things, the ones we never notice are the ones to make the biggest changes inside our hearts. And he seemed to be the living proof of it. He changed. But this time, for the best.
When I watched him with the kids, I didn't see a boy anymore. I saw a man. Tho I don't think he realized that.

Unfortunately, that was the last moment I had with him. But it was one of the greatest moments of my life. Actually, every adventure I had by his side.
I believe we may never see each other again. We went on separated ways in life. But I'll always have those golden memories to warm my heart. I think about them every single day since I left school. He was way more than just a friend for me. But I feel like I've accomplished a mission here, and so did he. If I said I don't miss him, it would be a lie. He was probably the person I loved the most in my life. But now that he's gone, I just feel... complete

Rock Paper Salt No. 1

Sam and Dean Winchester from a single continuous piece of folded paper, cut with a craft knife.

Sam is 6 3/4" tall.

The paper is still a bit too thin to stand up on its own even with the folding (had to prop it from behind to make it stand away from the sketchbook), but for a first go at this sort of thing I'm pretty happy with it.

For GTRO, the monthly event involved a photo of a paper cut out doll! I couldn't think of a single image, so I came up with a tiny story.

I had fun doing this, obviously. I love paper cut outs. I wanted to do more, but I figured this was enough for one event strip AHA.

Another Paper Child commission example! This is Meowth from Pokémon, and he doesn't seem to mind being hung from his tail in the slightest!

What are Paper Children? They're essentially chibis, drawn to be held, dangled, or pulled in some way. You then print them out and cut a gentle outline around them so you can pinch them between your fingers, hang them from a tack etc., and they'll appear to be interacting!

Paper Children commissions cost $5 each for Pokémon (applies to both singles and chains). Commissionees will receive the original picture file so they can print or resize as many times as they want! Commissionees may also use them in journal layouts etc~

I will be printing out a real-life sample of this guy soon. Enjoy!

Inception Paper Sculpture II

Arthur's and Eames' totems, built together using a single piece of cardstock, with my usual paper-cutting parameters (made of one continuous piece of paper; no adhesives; cutting and folding only).

I was going to do the totems individually, but halfway through designing them I said what the heck, let's do BOTH out of the same continuous piece.

This looks simpler than my first sculpture [link] but turned out to be a lot harder to design as there are more bits that have to be lined up exactly, not to mention being harder to assemble as it's smaller and the totems tend to get in each other's way.

Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors

Seeing that I'm starting to become a growing fan of this new spinoff, it's safe to say that this was inevitable. Now I know of a few pics of the new Avatar getting what was coming to her, but not only have I yet to see pics of the other LoK characters in similar situations, but I've noticed that there is literally not a single picture of Korra on the OTHER side of the feather.

Basically, someone suggested a while ago that I try a shot at Bolin and Mako, and I obliged. Bolin's only been tickled once before, and Mako hasn't gotten the treatment at all. While thinking about this arrangement I remembered that Mako is a Firebender and is weak to Ground-type moves (Earthbending), and Bolin is an Earthbender and weak to Ice and Water types (Waterbending). So I set up an elemental rock-paper-scissors triad of Ice (paper) beats Earth (rock) beats Fire (scissors) beats Ice, and took it from there.
I don't know why, but for some reason I think this pic did not come out the way I wanted it to, Korra herself in particular. I guess I can't blame myself, though, seeing that I made most of the lineart in between taking a shit-ton of notes in math class.

Paper Prophets

After making those Mario RPG shoes, I've gotten back into a Mario kinda groove and recently have been playing through the paper mario games. As such I ended up recalling my old fan idea of a game, Paper Mario: Fortune of Fear. So with my last few days of summer left, I thought it'd be fun reviving all the different characters and ideas I had made for it and give them a nice fresh coat of paint.

To start it off, I decided to draw the "Star Spirits", "Crystal Stars", "Crystal Hearts", ect, of the game.

These are the Prophet Shamans, ancient relics that once resided in The Millennium Temple guarding the Prophet's Moon, a powerful stone used to predict and control the fate of the Mushroom Kingdom. Obviously the intent was that with the stone in the Millennium temple guarded by these numerous shaman spirits, they could ensure peace across the land no matter the circumstance. For instance- Bowser always has an evil plot or scheme and is always capturing Princess Peach, but because of the Prophet's Moon, it is inevitable that Mario will come to rescue her and come out on top.

Now, the plot idea of the game itself, is that a horrible fate for the Mushroom Kingdom was discovered by Merlon's young apprentice, Mermor, the so called "Fortune of Fear" that is in the title.

"When the stars align on the 31st night, our kingdom's sky will be filled with light. Sinister invaders shall come raining down, with their only goal to conquer the crown. When the moon, stars, and time collide, our kingdom's fate shall be washed with the tide- no longer can our heroes stand, when all of our fate- rests in a sinister hand."

I actually have an old prologue chapter written if you ever care to look, it's got a picture of Mermor with it as well- the fortune I actually wrote back then is different than the one above though, so just disregard that if you go and take a peak. xDDD PMFOF - Prologue ???

A lone hut sat on the edge of town, light was inside despite everyone else in the area having gone to sleep. A young boy stood upfront of his crystal ball, training the night away as he studied his spells. He was a very short lad, cloaked in a large red robe held by a small brooch at the center of it's collar. He was working diligently through the night under the instruction of his mentor, Merlon. The young shaman you see believed that he was apprenticing to become a fortune teller just as Merlon is, though he was never really intended for such a path. It was only out of a favor to his mother that Merlon took the boy on to keep EDIT: The entire prologue has been rewritten now, so feel free to take a look at it, as the context of what happens in it is accurate now to the plot of everything I've been doing with my recent PMFOF pictures :>

What the fortune basically means though, is that there are 31 days (which is spread across 10 chapters) before The Millennium Temple will be in line with Star Haven, and the Moon itself. This can happen numerous times through the years, but this is the only time when the Prophet's Moon can actually be used to alter the destined fate of the planet, because it's able to absorb an absurd amount of energy at a single time. It was an unintended side effect since the day it was conceived, hence why there are so many Shaman's that remained to guard it. However word of this Prophet's Moon has reached the ears of a certain vengeful race which is going to be the main villains of the game, the Shroobs.

Yes ever since Partners in Time I've just had this itching fascination for the race, and always wanted to see them make a comeback. >XDDDD So the main leading villain of the game is the current Princess Shroob, who is the daughter of the former Princess Shroob that had led the invasion in PiT. (you can see a quick pic of her here )

I'm talking too much- so I think I'll end this off here and divulge more into my ideas when I draw the next set, which I'm thinking will be for all the partners of the game. xDDD (I would've described WHY you have to collect all the Shaman's persey, but I forgot why/how exactly, I think it was something about breaking the Prophet's Moon and hiding it's remnants about the land long ago- with the spirits of each Shaman inside the respectfully colored pieces- but that can be for another time xP)

I'll end this though with the names I've somewhat settled on for the different lands each Shaman is in for each chapter: (I'll also be adding themes for each area whenever I run across something fitting xP)

Hahaha I actually didn't give this an ultra lame title like "Sunset" or some crap like that, like I usually do. Woot. -_- And cookies to whoever knows where I got "Paper Cranes" from.

So I started on this like 940835739 years ago _{(May/June 2006 to be exact)} and abandoned it for like years and then started working on it again intermittently over the past months. _{School is a b*tch and not letting me have time for drawing anything anymore...} I think my "semi-realistic-wannabe" people look a lot better than before (see "Kami-sama" [link]), but since I started this so literally years ago, their faces are different from if I were to draw a new pic now, but I don't feel like starting over, so I just fixed as much as I could without starting over. I would start over had I not gotten terribly tired of this piece of lalala. Oh, and they also look much better close up, but that would make this too big to post so...yeah.

Well, when I first started drawing this I just finished watching Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd gig and it was AWESOME. _{KuzeKuzeKuzeKuze.} So I had to do some kind of Motoko-Kuze fanart. :] Yeah I'll leave it at that and save ya'll from more of my incoherent babbling present in every single of my picture descriptions. _{And also my newfound intrigue at this "sub" thing. lawlzzzZZzzZZ.} Wait wait, last thing: I made a new "signature" thingy, yay! It's not done yet, so don't fret! It's not supposed to be that fuzzy...

Haku and the paper birds

Nem sei mais quanto tempo faz que comecei esse desenho. Uns 3 meses, por aí
Eu queria fazer um desenho do Haku (o dragão, do filme A Viagem de Chihiro), pq eu acho ele muito legal, então fui procurar referências dele. E descobri que todo mundo que desenhou ele fez em umas 4 ou 5 poses diferentes, no máximo, que são as que aparecem nos screenshots do filme..então eu quis inventar uma pose nova. Peguei uma imagem de uma estátua de dragão chinês e fiz um rascunho rapido com lapis da pose daquela estátua, depois fui "transformando" ela no Haku, adicionando os detalhes dele e etc. E o desenho ficou no rascunho por muito tempo, até que um dia resolvi passar caneta nele e desenhar os pássaros...malditos pássaros Foi chato desenhar, contornar e sombrear cada um deles -_- Sobre o fundo: eu levei algumas horas pra pinta essa coisa toda @.@ É uma folha A4 totalmente colorida. Pintei todo o mar e grande parte do céu no meio da aula xD Mas apesar de tudo, eu amo esse desenho *-* Hoje resolvi terminar ele...só faltava pintar as patas do Haku e sombrear ele também, e fazer as sombras no mar...^^

I don't even know when I started this drawing anymore. Like 3 months ago, something like that
I wanted to do a drawing of Haku (the dragon, from the movie Spirited Away), 'cuz I think he's way too cool, so I went looking for references of him. And so I found out that everybody who has drawn him did him in like 4 or 5 different positions, if not less, that are the ones who are shown on the movie's screeshots...so I wanted to create a new pose.
I got an image of a chinese dragon statue and did a quick sketch of the pose of the statue with pencil, then I started to "transform" it in Haku, adding his details and so. And the drawing stood that way (just a sketch) for a long time, until one day I decided to ink it and draw the birds...damn birds It was a pain to draw, ink and do the shading in every single one of them -_-
About the background: it took me some hours to paint the whole thing @.@ It's an A4 sheet of paper that I colored entirely. I've painted the sea and a big part of the sky in the middle of a class xD But despite everything, I love this drawing *-*
I decided to finish it today...I just had to color Haku's paws and shade him entirely, and do the shades in the sea....

I used to be a Paper Angel.
When I was two and three, I lived in a homeless shelter and every Christmas, I was a Paper Angel to the world.
You know? Those artificial trees placed in the middle of malls and dept. stores, flooded with names and ages of little children who won't get a Christmas without you.
There are organizations that go around to help their kids they're taking care of and place a single Paper Angel on a tree limb somewhere in hopes that some kind person will walk by and feel moved enough to purchase that doll or race car for that one child who that may be their only gift.

I was a Paper Angel.

On my third Christmas, I got a baby doll. She had blonde hair and pigtail braids. I remember it as if it were yesterday. I hadn't even opened the package the whole way before I knew that it was Jesus who'd really brought me this gift. He was with me. With all of us kids without a home.
But? He moved through you.

So, when you're out doing your Christmas shopping and your mumbling and grumbling about all the gifts you can't find or don't want to find for all those on your list...?
When you brush past that tree....
...the one filled with innocent children's names and greatest hopes of a toy on Christmas morning...
I pray you stop.

I pray you look at those Angels and pick one. Give that child a Christmas.
I promise you.
They'll cry when they get it.
I did.
And, those children? They don't tear open the paper with wild excitement and vigor. No, we all sat and opened slowly, looking around at each other asking with our eyes, "Is this really okay?" "do I really deserve this?" "is this okay to open?" "are you sure this was meant for me?"

MAKE their Christmas.
One toy.
One gift.
That's all they're going to get anyway -- let it be from YOU.
...don't let Christmastime come to an end and there still be straggling Angels hung to the tree that no one answered to. Don't let them go empty on Christ's birthday. After all, it's Jesus who provided that shelter for them to live in anyway. They had nowhere else to live. At least you have a house, a warm place to cuddle up with family and open myriad gifts.

We were lucky just to have a bed somewhere,
in a place that wasn't even our home.

Add them to your shopping list.
You may be the only Christmas they see.

Thank you to whomever bought me that baby doll that year.
I didn't even like dolls, but I cherished that one for years. She was my angel.
And thank you, Jesus for leading them to not forget me.

Paper angels... you're in my thoughts and prayers. No matter where you are right now, remember God's right there. He's asking all of us to help take care of His paper angels everywhere.

Give her music this year. Give her her own Christmas Carol. Sing for her. Make HER heart sing for the VERY first time.

Paper Child Galary

Surprise, commissions are back open and this is a new type: Paper Children! As you can see, Galary's hanging by a flap and seems rather embarassed about it.

What are Paper Children? They're essentially chibis, drawn to be held, dangled, or pulled in some way. You then print them out and cut a gentle outline around them so you can pinch them between your fingers, hang them from a tack etc., and they'll appear to be interacting!

Paper Children commissions cost $6 for a single character, or $5 each for two or more characters (applies to both singles and chains). Commissionees will receive the original picture file so they can print or resize as many times as they want! Commissionees may also use them in journal layouts etc~

I will be printing out an example of this little lady ASAP. Enjoy!

Well well well ...
This is it folks !

It's been a long since I started a Paper Mario Contest, about creating new Paper characters, and adding them in the giant roster of Brand New Paper Mario.

To be honest, there's not a single without me editing or adding a new character to the cast, and I will continue the work for the next months. It's quite exciting, and it's one of the creative work I love to do.

So, what you can see here is just a really small preview of the actual number of characters set to appear in the game.
Many are original creations of mine.
BUT some are yours !!
Yeah that's right, many - but not all - of the entries are here in the pic !

Sorry for the serious quietness as of late, been sucked into some old games lately and haven't had too many ideas for artwork to think of. xD

I was invited by (who has some seriously amazing Paper Mario art @o@) to join in a contest he was hosting to create some random new paper mario characters, whether they be partners, npcs, enemies, the works. I ended up going with partners for two of the 3 here. xDDDDD

Also after working on this, I decided to start a special for commissions if anyone is interested. Until further notice, I will take commissions for any two characters of your choice to do in fully colored paper mario style like the picture above, or any other past PM pics I've done for that matter, for only $10. So that's 50% off what it'd be for a normal two character full body digital picture of mine. I'll also take single characters for only $6

Self advertizing aside, here's some backstory on these three.~

Ivanoff and Stroganoff the Eeries

Ivan is a traveling meteorologist, studying the patterns of weather and other general happenings in the sky all over the Mushroom Kingdom. Recently he's found his studies to be in very cold areas, as he's begun to see strange activity in areas where aurora borealis' can appear. Alongside him on his travels is his assistant and also nephew, Stroganoff (son to Ivanoff's currently undrawn brother, Romanoff). Stroganoff is a very helpful though sometimes simple minded companion, who has an absurd addiction for soup. While Ivan is a fully fledged potential partner, Strogan will only give Mario and co. a variety of soups for refilling health and stamina.

Observation - Predict enemy attacks
Clipboard Courier - Tosses his clipboard at an enemy
Reflection - Bounces light off the lens of his telescope towards an enemy, blinding them to make attacks temporarily miss
Counter Strike - If an observation for the previous turn proves true, this attack can hit with double the power. Used to tactfully evade an enemy and throw an attack back at them. Power can vary depending on an enemies attributes

Sir Swoopley

A carefree minstrel of the land. Sir Swoopley can act very flamboyantly towards the ladies, but rather than impressing them through strength and bravery, he prefers to serenade them in song on his Harpsibow that he totes behind him. He also has some pretty killer aim with an arrow.

Arrow Shot - Simply shoots an enemy with an arrow
Bard's Tune - Lulls enemies with a song to put them temporarily to sleep
Life Shot - Shoots a health-sapping arrow at an enemy for restoring health
Arrow Rain - Shoots a barrage of arrows down onto all enemies

Well, I finally posted something again. For Christmas I got Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and I love it! Playing this game made me remember the first RPG game of the Mario franchise, the wondrous Super Mario RPG(one of my favorite Mario games). In order to get back into my artistic skills, I decided to draw a ton of "paper" versions of the 3D characters. The Axem Rangers was single-handedly my favorite part of the game, and I still don't know why other than the fact they rocked.

Miss Belle; Pun off of Bell

Miss Belle is a very mischievous spirit, getting her kicks out of playing pranks on others. However, she is nowhere near evil, as she has a child's heart.

Overworld: In a reference to bell mythology, Belle wards off evil/harm (in this case attacks, obstacles, etc). She does this by ringing, making the two vanish, leaving only a hint of light.

Moves:
>Shriek: Attacks single enemy, can cause dizziness
>Boo Belle: Protects Mario and Belle from harm for 1 turn
>Voo Doom: Attacks single enemy, causes new status ailment "curse"
>Belle's Toll: Attacks all enemies, causes confusion

**Trivia**
-Miss Belle's design is similar to that of the Boo Bell from Mario Party. It is hinted that the design of the bell is later adopted from her ringing, as the Boos she guided and played with hang upon her every toll.

My contest entry for the Paper Heart Movie Poster Contest.

I guess the big question for me to answer now is, 'what does love mean to me'?

Well here is my perspective:

Genuine love is finding that one special someone out of a vast ocean of people. In the end we are all just fish swimming aimlessly hoping to stumble upon the one that we'll spend the rest of our lives with, come high or low tide. Collaboration of the two minds not only outsmarts just the one, but it also assertively fools the mind into knowing that your heart is no longer a single entirety, but instead a separate piece that has now found its other half.

Backstory:
When I found out about this contest, I undoubtedly had a number of ideas flowing through my brain. Luckily I had a piece of notebook paper nearby to brainstorm my idea(s)...which eventually was drawn, colored, cut out, and then cut in half into what you see silhouetted in the photo up above. lol
But no, really I brainstormed a lot. At first it was going to have something to do with chemistry class (cause I'd use some wordplay between the love chemistry, and the high school course where people sometimes pay attention more to the sweetheart in your lab group versus the actual assignment ).
However, I stuck with my idea with the fish and finding that one significant other to love. And believe it or not, the idea that I had come up with for the final product actually looks pretty close to this (haha cause usually all my ideas that pop up in my head NEVER come out as good on paper). Anyway, as soon as I settled on the heart design I made, I told my boyfriend ( ) about it. He was pretty eager to help me out, and that made me even more intimate with the contest notion. So what I did was meet up at his house and we borrowed his brother's camera in order to take a few snapshots outdoors. I knew nothing about his camera on how it works on bright sunny days (and neither did my boyfriend at first) so we shot a few for the hell of it and hoped for the best. Turns out the settings were correct without much dial fiddling, and from the digital previews everything looked sweet. Truthfully though, the best sky shots were taken out in his yard as we sat down next to each other on the grass.
Lastly, I doctored up the pic I liked the most in Photoshop, added the title and BOOM I'm finished. It was a lot more work than it may seem folks. Really. But I'm satisfied.

Love symbolism incorperated in this pic:

The paper heart: obviously reflecting the title. It's cliche, I know. But it works.

The notebook paper: The paper material I used for the heart I thought would be most fitting is notebook paper. Why? Not just because it suits the appearance for the movie since it seems like a typical doodle-drawn style used for indie films, but it symbolizes the stereotypical high school sweetheart admiration (ex. where one would pass a piece of notebook paper around in class to ask if they "like" them or not ) that we once witnessed. And also because people usually associate notebook paper with school anyways. So that's a given.

Fish: according to most symbolism, fish represent Eternity (an eternal relationship with someone), Fertility (cause what else are you guys going to do when you settle down? ), and utmostly Happiness.

Fire coral: That yellow looking stuff you see in there is not the seaweed. (I tried to make it look as much as fire coral as I possibly could without breaking the simplistic style I originally intended). But yeah, break the work apart, and you get Fire which symbolizes the ever-burning flame of a long term relationship.

Bubble hearts: (This was going to be an idea I would later edit out, but it seems okay for the moment) They represent love (durr) but as you can see they also look like bubbles (cause they're under water...hurr ) and as they move to the top, they merge. This represents communication, and the merging of the loved-ones ideas to create a collaboration of the two (this recollects back to my quote up top about how two heads are better than one ).

She sat at the bar in the corner of the club. The only other women at this club were the ones on the stage, nude and dancing. Ren eyed them all carefully, studying their curves and motions. The music was damn near perfect for her, letting her hips sway in the stool. If only she had a reason to get up on that stage with the only empty pole... alas, she dosen't do shows for nothing. Though, her simple swaying got her a bit of attention from a lot of the club's patrons. She'd forgotten just how tight the dress she wore was. It did a good job of showing her off... still, she perfered to be nude. She was quickly jarred from her thought's as a man sat next to her... her client. She took a long draw from her drink.

"I hope you brought my payment," The man, large, blond, and sporting a fancy suit, smiled.

"You made quite a mess back there... I had to work my ass off to cover yours," He managed to get quite the glare from Ren, her orange eyes flaring.

"So? You never said I had to be tidy... I just did what you asked me to."

"True, true... as messy as it was, you did a spectacular job, Red. Not a single one survived... jail would've been too good for them... assuming us agents were able to get 'em anyway..." She eyed him quickly, trying to peer through those shades he wore.

"Don't get used to this... I just did it 'cause I need the money... and they happened to be right up my alley anyway... even if you guys didn't hire me, they would've ended up like that anyway."

"I know," He sat a briefcase he was holding down next to her, "that's why I wanted to help you out, Red." Ren smiled, entertained by her client. "Hey, Red, I've got an idea."

"What might that be?"

"How about I give you an extra thousand?"

"The catch?"

"You give me a show... on the stage, without the dress." He had the cash in his hand, waving it in her face. She didn't need to see his face to know he was smirking. A smile spread across her face slowly as she took the money, she had the will, and the desire... and now she had the motivation. She stood up, removing her dress right in front of him.

"You really know how to make my day, huh."

haha, my OC again, Nagisa I think I love this outfit more so this will be her outfit from now on c: I'm really proud of this but when I was editing the transparent background, I think I almost died OH AND, I forgot to mention in the other picture of her, Nagisa is a mute! That means she doesn't talk so how she relates to music, you'll find out in the story xD. NAGISA!! WHY IS YOUR FACE SO SQUISHED!? ;o; I might draw a picture of her with Suzuka soon <33

Alright, guys, hey, its me, Renleixue, and for once with a picture that I didn't half-ass!!! WOOT!!! XD So yeah, I've been playing a lot of Paper Mario recently, and its just like something almost... COMPELLED me to make a fanmade story of my own.

Today, I'm going to tell you all the story of the Warrior Stars.

Once upon a time, there was a great war that threatened to destroy the people of Sarasaland. Fearing extinction, a great warlock focused his magical abilities and separated them into seven stone stars, which his people used to defeat the invading Toad army. Alas, the power of the stars was too great for common people to hold, and caused them to go mad, which drove the warlock to seal the stars away, deep under a large desert, in a magical vault where only the purest of people could reach.

Centuries passed by, until one day, a brave, noble princess found the lost trail to the resting place of the Warrior Stars. She was amazed by their beauty, and brought them back to her castle to place on display for all to see.

But then, the princess' castle was stormed by an alien man named Tatanga, in an effort to steal the Warrior Stars.

"I'll never let them fall into hands like yours!!!" Princess Daisy screamed, barricading the stars.

"Mueheeheehee," Tatanga grinned, "Then I'll just have to take you as well, Princess."

With a snap of his fingers, an army of aliens stormed into the vault, but before they could restrain the princess, she began muttering some strange words.

"W-what is she doing?!?!? Stop her, you fools, before its too late!!!" By the time Tatanga was able to scream at his men, however, the deed had already been done: The stars began to glow, and as Princess Daisy raised her arms, they hovered around the room. With a flick of her wrists, the princess sent them crashing through the roof, flying off in unknown directions across the kingdom.

"You'll never find them now..."

The guards restrained her, and the alien race retreated to their spaceships, fleeing from the castle, taking the princess along with them. Unknown by the enemies, however, a single toad had watched the entire speculation, and now knew what he had to do.

He ran off, as fast as he could, towards the Mushroom Kingdom.

If any of you actually read all of that, good for you, you deserve a freaking cookie or something, I dunno, here, you win free internets. X'DDD I'm not sure whether or not I should continue this story and do the chapters or not, so I guess I'll leave it up to how successfully it does here on Deviantart. LOL good luck to me, the least famous person evar, right? XD

A very rare angel born with one wing. It was something to do since I had inadvertedly blew up the fuse box in my home. It took most of my vacation cash to get an electrician out here to repair the damage. Curses!

"A fat girl at the park must overcome her anatidaephobia to escape with her sandwich."

The south end of the park was the safe part. Food trucks crowded the lot just off of Willis Avenue, and with them came their siren's song of smells and sizzles. The south end was also where the pavilion and picnic tables were. She could sit outside in the sun and enjoy her meal. As long as she stayed away from the pond to the north, she'd be fine.

Or so Heidi thought.

Danger was the furthest thing from Heidi's mind as she unwrapped the sandwich in front of her. Far from the stereotype of frenzied feeding that people ascribed to women of her size, Heidi was a slow and deliberate eater. She folded back the wax paper wrapping bit by bit, appreciating the turkey BLT with avocado's fine craftsmanship. Unlike the trampled looking, sad burgers crushed by the wage slaves staffing a fast food restaurant, this was a sandwich beautifully prepared and ready for a food photographer's lens. The lettuce was vibrant green, peeking beyond the perimeter of the aromatic, fresh baked bread. The bacon was superbly...

The downy hairs on the back of her neck stood up. Dread washed over Heidi like a bucket of ice water poured on her head. Her skin erupted in goosebumps. No, no, no- the pond was so far away. They couldn't be here. She forced herself to remember her psychiatrist's words: deep breaths. The first ones she drew were ragged, panicked, but they grew more and more regular. She forced herself to look up from her sandwich and swivel her head around to survey the area.

She expected to be greeted with sinister, glass bead black eyes, leathery bills, scaly webbed feet. She expected feathered flapping and waddling and quacking- the stuff of nightmares. But instead there was... nothing. Odd- this almost supernatural sense had never steered her wrong before. Maybe she *was* crazy.

Heidi turned her attention back to her meal, raising the sandwich to her eager lips. That's when she noticed him. At first it was the fedora that caught her attention. It was the favored headwear of pickup artists, a group she learned to be wary of ever since being trapped in an elevator with one for fifty hellish floors. But there was something about him beyond the hat that bothered her. He lurched bonelessly, the surface of his trench coat roiled with lumps and bumps. Also, he was wearing a paper plate mask with a crudely drawn smiley face and he had wings for hands.

The ducks had found her.
