So! This is the first cosplay shoot I've done in a little bit now, but welcome back me! Anywho, my friend and I decided that we were LONG overdue for working together again!

She'd recently made a New 52 version of Supergirl, and wanted pictures, how could I say no? I'm really pumped with how this shoot turned out, and you'll see more coming in the next few days!

I posted the BW inks of it earlier. Starfire's always been a cool character to me, and I can't help but involuntarily side-eye the New 52 iteration of it.

I'm not really a big fan of the redesign, but I plan on holding out for Starfire to suddenly become awesome in 52.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

I keep saying I'd draw somebody else. OMG I'M SUCH A LIAR I'M SORREH.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Superman's New 52 design. Jim Lee, I love you, and you're a fantastic artist - one of the best out there... but you might want to work on those costume design muscles o' yours, or give the conceptualizing to somebody who can.

Not that I'm saying I have what's necessary to design a costume for Superman that is both different and respectable to the character. I tried though. :/ I wanted to see if I could chalk something out that's better than the high collar v-neck, armor boot concept that is personified in the New 52. Unlike Jim Lee's version, I was trying to keep in mind that he hides the freakin' costume under his civilian clothes, so as usual, I kept the cloth close-fitting and simple (no armor/padding, yo!).

At least it's a little better than Henry Cavill's costume... maybe. I dunno, maybe I like a few things on that version. I can take it in small doses. :T

I forced myself to leave the briefs off, but it was HARD, because I'm sure you all know how much I love his trunks. Dx But you know, there's a sizable crowd out there that is yearning for a more contemporary costume for the Man of Steel. I gave it a shot, trying to make it as streamline as I could and spreading the color around equally without turning it into a complete mess. Don't know if I succeeded though.

I still like the original way more. Yup. :]

Opinions? Does it look bad? Should I try again sometime? I'm not much of a designer myself. xD Tear it up if you want. I appreciate feedback.

So, this is a shoot that we did after months of discussing actually just doing a photoshoot XD I traveled down to MD, and we, after much exploring, ended up taking a few quick photos on the top of the parking garage at the Towson Mall. After getting kicked out of there, we ended up shooting at Goucher College, and Loch Raven Reservoir, two very scenic locations that I very much so hope we get a chance to go back to! Overall, I had a lot of fun doing this shoot!

F**K YOU NEW 52. I THOUGHT YOU WERE A PRETTY NICE GUY WHEN YOU FIRST SHOWED UP EVEN THOUGH POWERGIRL DIDN'T GET A COMIC. BUT THEN YOU GO AND GIVE HER THIS NEW SUIT THAT TAKES ALL THE CHARACTER OUT OF HER. FOR SHAME.

Anyways, quick sketch. Been sitting on this for a while now. This is my take on a Power Girl that fits the New 52 vibe. They got rid of the boob window which is a trade mark. What I did was make it more part of the suit than a random circle, also changing it to the Superman triangle (or hexagon?) to hint at the connection to the kryptonians. I also put it higher to 1. have the collar button the window together and look like the two naturally blend together and 2. Show a bit less boob but not covering everything up (which I think is less slutty and more sexy if there's just a peek ) I also brought back the blue cuz it's just not the power girl colours without the red white and blue!

Now, how the cape is attached is with those little shoulder clips which were inspired by the costume designs for Thor and the Asgardians in the movies. Anyways, I'm still playing and tweaking this design so expect more and hope you enjoy it more than the New 52 design!!!

I really don't like the new Power Girl outfit they are using to bring back into the 52 universe. It looks very non-descript with 90's accessories and does not fit the design motif set up for this universe. It looks like Alan Moore's Supreme and they removed the boob window!

Even the "P" is horribly out of place and distorted - betcha you didn't even notice it at first.

Here is my version using the design sensibilities of the new 52 universe and incorporating a motif based on the Kryptonian language - like how they assert that Superman's logo is the Kryptonian letter for "S".

In the Kryptonian alphabet, the letter “P” is this:

Graphically it consists of a large diamond (the dominant shape like Superman's shield) adjacent to a bisected circle.

Like hieroglyphics, you can rearrange the elements and it will still be the same letter/symbol.

I was even able to keep the boob window because it is the costume element that actually makes the character identifiable.

So I used these elements in her redesigned costume.

I've decided to take a quick break from my X-Men pin-up series to draw a little something else. As many of you know, publishing giant DC Comics relaunched their company in September 2011 with 52 brand new titles replacing their old ones. The New 52, or the DCnU as fans call it, has been polarizing at best. Though I had my own personal doubts about them changing their universe (since this is a universe I've come to love since I was a kid) I stuck with DC and have enjoyed a lot of the titles they've published. This series meant to celebrate the women of the New 52! Up first, Supergirl!

After her death in the mid-'80s in the Crisis of Infinite Earths, Kara Zor-El wouldn't officially show up again in the DC Universe until the 2000s when she was re-introduced in a revised origin story in "Superman/Batman." However, this Kara was much changed from her Silver Age counterpart. She was angrier, meaner, and kind of trashy. This Supergirl didn't much care for being a superhero. While she eventually ditched her sh*tty attitude, Supergirl never quite reached her full potential in the Pre-Flashpoint continuity. As such, the New 52 allowed for Kara to be re-introduced the right way. Her eponymous title features a confused Kara Zor-El arriving on Earth having to deal with her new-found powers granted to her by the yellow sun. Michael Green is a capable writer who has taken his time with Kara and made sure to do her proper justice. Thus far Kara has dealt with the World Killers and we are now seeing Silver Banshee being re-introduced in her title. Overall, Supergirl is a great, casual read and seems to be fairly underrated.

Of course, it's also worth mentioning that along with a revamped origin Kara has also received a spiffy new costume. Many suggest her look is an amalgamated Power Girl/Supergirl look but I just say it's all kinds of awesome. While I initially didn't like it, it's grown on me and I've enjoyed seeing it on her. The cape is amazing and I love the construction of the suit... red triangle crotch and all. I also love that Supergirl has shorter hair. It's cute!

Ladies and Gentleman, after almost two (?) months of work, I'm finally really proud to show you the "World's Greatest Superheroes", Dc universe version obviously^^

Here i am, finally, with the Justice League!

Ok, a little precisation: i don't want to do some spoilers but i have to tell you something. Actually, the new Justice League is composed by all the members except hal jordan (who gave up after a little problem) and seems that billy batson aka Shazam will join the league later.

Anyway, i wanted to do this pic, with all the characters, even to honor the amazing, spectacular, fantastic *JeanSinclairArts, who gave me the chance to color his wonderful sketch!
I hope he like this pic, like i hope youall will like it.

This is my first Christmas gift for you, if i can, i have my "traditional" pic to do and i'll post it in the next days...

Hey everybody! I'm back, even with an exam that i have to do tomorrow XD
Today, i post the second colorize of a work done by the really talented
This time, the protagonist is the Man of Steel, the Last Son of Krypton, the Man of Tomorrow, Kal-el, Clark Kent or, mor simply, Superman!
A lot of people don't like Superman, probably because is difficult for a comic writer to use a character that's virtually invincible and almost almighty, but i always liked it and i hope you like this color too.

Here's the eleventh pin-up in a new series I'm doing called The Women of the New 52. This one is of the enchanting Zatanna!

Prior to the relaunch, Zatanna had a charming ongoing series that had garnered her quite a bit of praise. Unfortunately, when DC announced their New 52 Zee was stuffed into a team book where it's really hard for her to develop as fully as she was before. Luckily, Justice League Dark is a nice little niche book that is unique in its tone and subject matter. In it, Madame Xanadu assembles a team of magically-powered beings to fight off the insane Enchantress. Zatanna is one of the team's members. Her behaviour is familiar but she's got a new appearance. She appears in club wear most of the time looking more like a nightclub bartender than a magician and has these really awkward bangs. She's also got some tattoos that I feel are a little weird. Still, Zatanna's still Zatanna. Love 'er!

Since Zatanna's outfits seem to change issue-to-issue, I decided to go with just one of her looks. I really didn't want to draw her tattoos so I went with one of her jacketed looks. I do like the contrast of the white with the black leather. It's really crisp. I do have to say that Zatanna looks more ready to kick butt than she did before. This is more superhero-y than what she wore previously.

One of my first full color attempts toa more cartoony art style I've been exploring, definitely feels different and has a more graphic and design aspect that is quite challenging.

I had the though that cartoon were easy to draw, boy I was wrong you need to now a lot about anatomy and and design language to get one of this done correctly, and not sloppy has many people draw them.

its always easy to add details, but make something simplistic and more effective , is a challenge, and I love challenges!

This wonder woman is a based on an old drawing I did long time a go, and wanted to see how it could change with all the stuff I've been studying lately.
