Exams Passed!

Yay some good news to blog about. I passed both my exams from last week with flying colours. I am now a proper MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician). For those curious I was taking the; Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Windows XP Operating System (Exam 70-271) & Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Windows XP Operating System (Exam 70-272). Spent 2 weeks learning both books and on the third week took the exam and passed.

With that out of the way I am pretty much finished at Zenos. This week is simply for those who failed before to catch up and for those who have completed everything to waste some more time. We are meant to be doing job hunting and C.V. tuning but nobody is doing anything. I have already done all this before which makes all this even more boring. This week has been pretty pointless;

Monday; I shouldn’t even got up in the morning. Got to Zenos at normal time (between 0800-0830) and spent the time playing my DS until 0900. Then I walked into the classroom with everyone else already in there and the lecture informed the class that those who has finished all there work can go home. So by 0905 I was on my way home.

Tuesday was C.V. tuning day, which I could have done at home. Then uploading said C.V. onto various jobsites, another activity i could have done at home. It’s not all that bad though, they did let us go at 1230 but that was because they needed to leave us with something to do on Wednesday.

Wednesday was more of the same as Tuesday. Expect by this time I had run out of jobsites which I could visit because Zenos has a white list setup.

Thursday I officially have the day off.

And Friday is “graduation day” were they will had out certificates and congratulate everyone and clap lots. Something I would rather skip personally. Who knows, I might be able to sneak out half way through the event and do something a little more constructive (like updating this site ). I have never liked events like this, mostly because I don’t like the attention.

I intend to return to my previous job at some point after Friday on the basis that I know what I’m doing their and it’s not full hours. If I get any spare time off because there’s no work I will be able to study for the Comptia Network+ and go for the exams etc. With a normal job you can’t get away with that really. Well that’s the plan anyway. The reason I’m not taking my recently earned qualifications and getting a new job is because with this setup I will be able to do it instantly. Come Monday (if all goes to plan) I will be back to my old routine. I have done some job searching and as far as I know, with my lack of actual work experience and the many qualifications i have, the most I can probably expect is first line support at a call centre. While the job is fine, im not built for it. It simply doesn’t appeal to me. It’s mostly because of my phone manners are bad and I get nervous whilst on the phone.

I was meant to have updated last Thursday or Friday after completing the exams but I kind of forgot. I have been distracted playing Spore again. I will upload some screenshots of what I have created soon to them show off and stuff :3

I have two weeks remaining before leaving the IT training academy I have been attending for the past 5 months. Next week is exams for the MCDST 271 and 272 (a Microsoft helpdesk certification) and then the last week is meant to be career related (they haven’t given us any details yet what’s going on). So the only things I have been doing recently is studying and playing (but mostly studying). I have already passed a few exams and courses whilst at the training academy such as; Comptia A+ (601 and 602), IC3, NVQ, Keyskills and other qualifications which I can’t remember right now.

I plan to return to my previous job as a compliance games tester and while I am there I hope to study and take my Comptia N+ exam. I would have done it during my time at the academy but unfortunately they wouldn’t allow us to take the exam. We are to come back after we leave the academy to take the exam. We only spent a few days learning the material but I feel with a bit more studying I could go for the exam now.

I went into the IT training academy purely for the qualifications. The majority of the material I already knew or had a basic understanding of the concepts. Which meant courses like IC3 which involved learning the very basics or Microsoft Office was very tedious. Though it was surprising how many people struggled with that.

Once the exams are over and done with, I’m hoping to give this website a little more attention. Obviously I will also be studying for the Comptia N+ while working, if it all goes according to plan. I have had so many ideas for web based games, layouts and more but haven’t had the time to dedicate to any of it. I doubt I will ever get the time but if I’m able to get even an hour more to spend learning or making for this site, that’s better than nothing.

Just before I finished, I have altered the Wordpress features here slightly. For starters I have implemented an anti-bot register system which allows me to allow other people to register here again. So if you want to comment or post on the forums, you are now free to do so. I have also uploaded two browser based games which interested me. One is an RPG while the other is chess. Last change I have made is the search bar; it is now a Google search bar.

A lot has happened recently making it rather difficult to actually update the site and other projects I had going. This is an extremely brief summary of recent events and activies because I think if anyones going to read this they would rather a short, to the point post as apposed to a massive long post which no one will want to read

Wordpress account creation has been disabled for a while now to prevent bots from plague this somewhat dead site. When I get the time I will look into getting a more secure signup or commenting system but for now just throw stones at me on MSN or STEAM

All projects, web design or graphic design related will be put on hold. Again.

For the past 7 weeks I have been attending an IT academy called Zenos Academy. Im training to gain various certifications which will hopefully enable me to get a better job. The training course I am on covers many areas. Starts from the very beginning and works its way up. So far though it seems like its all geared towards helping customers, like what you need for call centers. Thats not something I aim to go for. I intend to get all the qualifications I can from them and then I will see what I can do. Im really looking forward to the networking part of the course.

As a result of the above I left working for VMC as a games tester so that I could spend all my time dedicated to the IT academy. I sort of left without much of a warning so I hope they are managing without me. Not that I was that important anyway.

During the easter holidays I went to a lan party. I attended the I36 Multiplay lan event for the whole 5ish days. It was awsome. There was a lot of issues I had with it but I feel that over all it was good. I have pictures of the event which I haven’t uploaded yet but when I do this will be the first place I update

There probably was more important things I was ment to mention but i’ve forgotten what they were so meh. This will just have to do. If you see me online at all poke me! I tend to forget im signed in

Allow me to explain. [There is a summary at the bottom ]

Tuesday: Normal boring working day.

Wednesday: During the evening [after getting home from work] I recieved an e-mail with an application form attached to join Zenos Academy; A high quality IT training company. My brother went to this Academy a few years back and they wanted to know if I was interesting in joining there 5 month course. I filled the application the same evening and went to bed [was about 10:30pm by the time i finished, took 2 hours to fill out because I couldnt find all my details ].

Thursday: During the day whilst I was at work I checked my e-mail [because I was ahead of everything] and I had recieved a reply about my application to join. I had an interview on Friday it said, at 2:30pm. At this time I realised that this might be my last day. I heard from my brother that the starting day for the Academy was Monday 23rd. So I played a couple of pranks in secret, informed the agency and the boss what is happening. And then carried on with my potentially last day [if I failed the interview then i would be coming back rather quickly] as I normally would. Only 2 people actually know that I have left. [Exluding boss and agency]

Friday[Today]: Went to the interview and at the end of it they told me im in. I was accepted. I start on Monday 9am. I will be doing loads of different types of I.T. training. Mostly help desk support, networking etc. I don't know all the details yet. This is all so sudden.

Summary: Ive stopped working as a games tester for the next 5 months because I will be attending Zenos Academy training coureses where I will be training for all sorts of I.T. related things.




This is like suddenly taking a left turn into a road you've never seen before. Its happened so quickly. Still a little speechless.



Lets see where this takes us.

But i'm alive and updating now! I have even uploaded a semi decent piece of art. How can anyone complain about that? Huh? Hehe.

The piece I uploaded I finished today actually. Untitled-77; Open Your Mind. I have no comment to add to this subject besides whats already been said. [Which is just me saying it exists ]

Lifes mostly the same as usual so I won't dribble on about it, seeing as I have done so far in every other journal. Meh.

I don't talk about books often enough, I do read XD [inbetween playing,working and actual work]. Finished reading Pyramids by Terry Pratchett at some point, can't remember when exactly. I am already half way through Small Gods. :3

My website and its many projects.
PWUK [my website] and some of my other projects that I have been working on needs more attention from me I think. I have been trying my best to get things sorted out but its taking way to long in some cases.

Take the big planet project which I promised awhile back. [¹Note to self; no more promises, they tend to end horribly] I haven't had the time to sit down and dedicate myself to it properly. I had been spending my train journeys doodling and planning the whole project out in pencil. I've manage to plan out a lot of the details spanning over several different pages, both sides.

Its just a shame I didn't pay attention to the weather one day. While walking to work it began to heavily rain. I was completely and utterly soaked, even down to my underwear. [which is something i wouldnt normally share, but it perfectly illustrates how heavy the rain was on that particular day] This also included my bag and all of its contents. My sketch pad [and my NDS and mobile phone D:] was so wet, and were I have been writing in pencil most of it had now faded away. [²Note to self; write in pen and check weather more often] So its been put on hold until further notice which is a shame.

Another note worthy project which has been negelected; Video Games Recorded [vgr]. I have been thinking about expanding it again but not sure if it would be such a good idea. At the moment its just a sub section on PWUK [again my website] but I don't think its big enough for expanding. We shall see. Oh VGR is a place which I load recordings of the video games that me and my friends play. At the moment its just 1 or 2 games. It would be more if I had the time. [Argh]

My latest project is called Warcraft Tactics [wct] which is still in like its alpha stages. Its going to be an online board game for me and a few friends. It will play like risk or advance wars were the goal is to dominate the other players. The twist is, when someone attacks another person, the out come of that move is made out in the actual game; Wacraft 3.

Again this is going to be a massive project which needs tuning down. My ultimate goal is to have a flash boardgame where 4 or more players on seperate PCs can view actions and moves being done in real time. [Obviously that won't be it, I would want millions of other features as well ] But seeing as I don't know enough Flash, PHP or SQL, its going to be a long away off from the end.

And to top it all off, i'm considering getting into modding. For things like Half Life 2 or Unreal Tournament 3 etc. [I can already make maps in UT3, its easy :3]

To end my journal i would like to talk about the parts of this journal in these; "[...]". I have been doing these recently but would like some feedback. They are simply things im thinking which dont really need to be mentioned but I felt like mentioning it. Its like me talking and then saying that part I thought about but left out for whatever reason. If you think this is stupid, silly or whatever just let me know. Im experimenting :3 haha...

On a normal day, without overtime; Work consumes pretty much 70% of my day leaving me with 10% for eating, resting and enjoying myself and 20% for sleeping. Or something like that. So yeah whatever.

I originally posted the "I.O.U a journal entry" in the hope that I would think of something to talk about but I find myself just talking about how I failed to find something to talk about. I also noticed an on going pattern with myself regarding my journal entries over the past couple of years; they are mostly about my lack of time due to work/college or whatever else is consuming me, failures in general and also giving out false hope. Argh.

Went back and looked at a couple of journals from around this time last year and I find that im still pretty much in the same place I was before. Work > friends/msn/website. Something needs to change. Need to find a solution that allows me to do all the things I need to do but without the cost of my precious sleep

Also keep an eye out for a game called Left 4 Dead! If you didnt know; Its a 4 player (8 player in VS mode) survival-horror-first-person-shooter-multiplayer co-op game which looks amazing, mwuaha.

@Brian: TOF is down, lost your livejournal link, unable to get on msn to poke you right now, argh! I need to get something sorted so that we can still communite without the need for msn, one of those wossname, the name escapes me. A erhm... I will probably remember later. Also started playing the new Sonic RPG for the DS for the past week on the train. Its not bad so far. The characters actually feel like they have some depth to them, some hidden history as well. And most the characters have grown up. So no more whiny Tails bitching about how much he needs Sonic so much and how he cant even tie his shoe laces without him.
@Louise: I didnt know you was on Steam until looking around the new layout recently and stumbling onto the link . Ive added you to my friends list if thats okay and talking about the layout. I <3 it to pieces. While green is my least favorite colour, you've used it in such a way it looks perfect. That and im able to appriecate it more because I understand the amount of work that goes into the planning and coding. So yeah It also looks like one of those layouts which normally features multi-colour options that allow you to change the colour scheme of the layout. Which I have always thought was pointless because most of them dont save the settings for the user :S But cool layout anyway

Oh crap, gotta go make lunch for tommorow and then sleep. Spent a little longer than I hoped writing this (yeah like an hour and a half longer ). Hope everyones doing okay!

I haven't read through my contact thoroughly enough to talk about the place I work at seeing as its related to Microsoft and microsoft have spies everywhere but in short its about games testing which just recently have been pretty manic. I'm getting only 2 hours a day to myself, spending most my time at work, getting less sleep and so on...

I had intended to get a big art project out of the way by now but with only 2 hours a day, excluding weekends, which are spent recovering from the week working, I haven't been able to get properly started. So instead i have been planning EVERYTHING on paper during my train journey to work.

I am planning to do a big planet themed picture. Similar to a picture I did a couple of years ago called "Might of Heaven".

[@Brian: The picture you asked to be turned into a wallpaper ]

The reason this picture will be special is because I plan to add an extreme amount of detail to the picture. So this may take several months to finish or maybe years with the time I have . I might post the plans on my website just to give people an idea what i'm working on. Getting creative feedback when doing big projects is always good :3

In other news, i have a Nintendo Wii and I am really liking it My only issue with the console is that there is a lack of serious games on it. There are 10000s of casual games and kiddy games.

At the moment I have; Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Resident Evil 4 Wii edition, The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess and a couple more which I cant remember the names

I have been playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl a lot recenelty. The online play is really fun but it would be better if it wasn't so laggy. Voice chat of some kind would have also been very good but the game has none. A part from that its got so much to unlock. Story mode took me 9-10 hours to complete on normal and even then you only reach like 70% completion rate. I still have more to do in story mode but not sure what else. I probably have to complete all the levels on hard or something :S if you liked the other Super Smash games then you will love this to peices. If you didn't then you will most likely not like this one

Oh crap, I forgot to do my monthly updates. I guess that means this has to be twice as much this time?

Work hasn’t been as busy just recently. As a result of this, I have been training in different sections which is good news. More work. More money. But less time for myself and this website. I guess its not that bad, seeing as the work I do pays for everything whilst this website doesn’t. Yet. :3

Hehe but as usual I have been so busy and tired that no real progress has been made on PWUK or any of my other personal projects. Saying that though, whilst on the train I normally doodle and sketch random logo ideas and layout designs. I also spend 10 minutes in the morning doing some random photoshop stuff, just so I don’t go out of shape. Hopefully the next time I update, I would have made some noticeable progress.

Unreal Tournament 3 beta demo coming soon! (this Friday apparently) I really cannot wait much longer for the full release. I loved UT99 so much and ended up playing the game for years before getting bored (5+ years, XD). I just keep forgetting to pre-order my copy. Looking into getting the collectors edition but I cannot make my mind up just yet.

Its been so long since the last update. Here’s all the things I have been up to since the last update;

I went out and grabbed a copy of Bioshock for the PC on the second day of release. Then completed the day in less than two days, on hard, using mostly the wrench. It’s an amazing game with awesome visuals and a brilliant atmosphere but I just found it too easy. I completed the game and got the evil ending (Harvesting all the little sisters). The ending scene itself is incredibly short. I idea what the good ending is like but I was pretty disappointed with the evil ending, so I’m not going to waste my time trying to get a good ending just for another short ending. I might go back to it in a couple of years when I have completely forgotten everything about the game, but who knows.

My parents got me a Nintendo DS as an early birthday present. They presented me it on the same day I got Bioshock, which was a little cruel in my opinion. I am currently hooked on the new Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS. Its like Zelda: The Wind Waker in a way but just portable. Here’s a quick list of games I like playing on my new shiny DS; Zelda: Phantom Hourglass , Bleach: Kokui Hirameku Requiem 2nd (Jap), Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (Jap), Glory Days 2, Mario Kart DS, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Oh and Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings (Jap). Not to much really...

I have not done anything over the past few months worth uploading and showing anyone. It’s quite depressing to be honest. I need to work more and sleep less! That’s the solution! More things around here would get done. Either that or I would become an official member of the legion of the damned (referring to the undead, nothing else) instead of a part time member.

Aargh! Out of time. I will add to this later. Maybe. Or just make a new entry. Maybe.

Oh, I almost forgot. It’s my birthday tomorrow...

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if everyone who used to visit here has run off by now. But for all of those who still have hope, here is an update.

Work should be a little less insane from now on. We are trying to sort something out so we don’t have to do so much overtime. This hopefully will give me more time to sort out my other commitments. I can’t see it working out through because we are drawing ever closer to the Christmas period.

Pocket World – Uk, will hopefully be more active. I am going to redesign everything soon, mostly the written content. After reading through my content I came to realise that it all sucks. It’s boring, loads of grammar mistakes and simply sucks. I won't bother listing all the faults.

Was also thinking of setting up a new forum so that if anyone needs to get in contact with me, all they need to do is post something on the forum and I would get back to them when I can. It would also give me a chance to maybe develop an RPG forum or a Games forum or something, haven’t really thought it all through yet as usual.

I really should visit deviantART more often, or at the very least clean up my inbox. Currently have: 3,325 deviations, 265 messages and 2 notes. I dare not go and look at my YouTube account. I know Pocket World - UK had about 400+ spam comments with only 2 or 3 actual comments.

On a side note, after realising that I spend about 5 hours a week commuting on the train. I have been thinking of getting myself either a Nintendo DS or a PSP. I just can’t make my mind up which one to get. Both look pretty plain. Saying that though, I do like the looks of the new Final Fantasy CC: Ring of Fates for the Nintendo DS

There isnt much to talk about really. Just pointing out as usual that i'm still active.

One thing I guess is worth mentioning, I am in the middle of designing mock layouts for an art community [link] I still havent started learning php but I have started learning javascript. I can actually read javascript unlike before where it looked like a random assortment of letters XD

The next update on my website will be a big one. The main 2 features that will be opened will be AZK designs (my personal portfolio and webdesign services website) and my new tutorials section. I plan to use the recently submitted photoshop tutorials in my gallery onto my website. I will be converting them to html so that a reader can search through the tutorial if they must. Its also generally a good idea to write tutorials in html instead of one big JPG because of search engines XD

I cant give an estimated time of arrival because I dont know when it all will be finished. I still have a lot to do.

After all this is done, I plan to work on VG-Recorded. So as usual, I have plenty of work to do.

Yes, at long last POCKET WORLD - UK is open again! I repeat, ITS NOW OPEN POCKET WORLD - UK XD

Just to inform the new people or those who have visited in a long time, my personal site was down due to issues with my host. For some strange and unknown (to me) reason, every file that ended in PHP wasnt working properly and when you tried to view them it asked if you wanted to download it. Considering my whole site was PHP orientated I had to close it down fast, but only temporary.

There isnt to much there at the moment but its a start. I will be now focusing on completing AZK Designs, my freelancing / portfolio for webdesign, then the services will come back hopefully.

I havent had work for the past 4 weeks now but hopefully with a new month will come more opportunities for work I guess these past 4 weeks havent been to bad, I mean I have had the chance to help my parents, update my CV, work on PWUK and other webdesign projects. So yeah, I havent been lazing about.

One thing I must do is put together a proper daytoday schedule and finally learn PHP, java, more CSS and godknowswhatelse I need to learn to get better at webdesign! I guess I will never be bored XD

I know its a bit late to go and say that but hey, I forgot.

I still havent updated my site, poo. I will try my hardest to get SOMETHING online this weekend. I figure, the main reason why I havent really got far with Web Design professionally is because my site is down 90% of the time, mostly because I cant spare the time to work on it. Man I wish I was more of a night-time person, I could work on it during the night then ;D

Work is great, trying to get to know everyone slowly without looking like some whore (couldnt think of a better description, sorry) ;D Its not web design but at least its something I enjoy. It beats flipping burgers. Cant say anything else

My social life (like i ever had one ?) is doing poor, I havent seen any of my friends in ages, well, it feels like that but it cant be helped, and they know that. Hmm, I should go on AIM/MSN a bit more as well, I mean the last time I logged on was probably 3 months ago Most my friends on my lists probably think im dead or something XD Oops.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!1! XD

I normally forget to post seasonal things like this but seeing as me and the family are not playing Mario Party 7 all day today on the account that everyone is ill, I decided to post a Christmas related journal ;D

Yeah, I hope everyone else has a good christmass, even if they dont celebrate it, it should still be a good day for you ;D

I have had next to no free time to design or do anything else due to work and this deranged illness (not sure if its a cold, flu or something else), and with my new xmass pc upgrade, I have yet to install photoshop, no work will get done for sometime. xD

Ima go play something now to keep my mind of being ill (i find playing games helps XD), I hope everyone enjoys today~

I havent updated this in awhile. Quite a lot has happened ;D

First off; Yes, I have a proper paying job that doesnt involve flipping burgers or stacking shoes on a shelf or tidying up after ungrateful people I have a job as a "Xbox/Xbox360 game tester". My first day is tommow Its a little nerving because I dont often use trains so I keep getting confused about where I am ment to go and such, plus I have to get up mega early but I should manage, did it once before for the interview which was fun.

Only flaw I see in this job is its like agency work. If they have a game needed to be tested, I have work. If there is no games needed to be tested, no work for me.

Update
First day success! Not long got back, left the house at 0715 and got back around 1900 so I have been out roughly 12 hours! 8 hours work and 4 hours traveling and waiting for this and that. (going to have to look into lowering the travel time me thinks @__@) Yeah, the day was just simply great. I cant say what I did due to the contracts and other paper work i have signed XD

I cant see myself doing any design work for a while seeing as the job takes up just about all my spare time. but I will see what I can do. I dont know if this is a full time job or what just yet.

Needless to say, it was great fun XD

I also almost went to a local anime/manga event at Blackwells. Only problem was by the time I got there it was over. I went to watch a film and it didnt finish till 2pm-ish XD From what I hear from other people it all ended around 12:00.

Other than that, things have been pretty plain and boring but thats just me XD

I am in the process of uploading all the textures that I took when me and the rest of the family decorated the living room. Spent hours taking pictures so I have a lot to sort through so it may take awhile. I have uploaded some already so check them out if your interested in wall textures ;D!

Since my last update life has been a bit out of control. I have been lagging behind my schedule so to say but thats not to say I have been lazing about because apart from the 11th I havent! I will get back on track, I have to...

Oh my birthday was fun, I forgot to report about it. I got some cool Naruto keychain thngs which I love and it was a whole day to myself > just lazed about and relaxed XD

I have a couple more designs sitting on my PC. Once I have finished them I will upload them to DA. I also want to take a couple of pictures of some stuff and submit them

VGR is another thing lagging behind. I did want it finished and uploaded ages ago but I cant login on my Host CP so I cant continue with the project untill then.

Main website needs a redesign. I can do much better than that now.
Portfolio needs redesign. So my work stands out more.

Also have to do a contacts card, cd portfolio, update hardform portfolio and more. Not much work. XD

I also need to get back into freelancing but I also need to work out prices for this and that. No point going to people or people coming to me if I am not ready. Prices are something I have never figured out. Each project is unquie and so will the price. I could just do a '£25' a layout thing but I dunno, blah~

Well this is just a simple update so everyone knows that I havent ran off or anything. I am working on a few new things and when they are finished I will have loads to submit to DA for everyone to have a look!

That should pretty much sum everything up. I have been working hard and im really proud of the design I am also learning flash and php so that I can make some interactive content for PWUK and hopefully use those skills to provide extra services later.

I am also working on redesigning the main site and portfolio. There are to many flaws and I can not bare to sit back and ignore them any longer. So straight after I finished with VGR expect some redesign submitions to DA XD

Not much is happening. Been exercising more, job hunting more, working more, learning more, helping parents more but I feel im not getting anywhere with all this but I will manage

Life is funny. Random notetoself- Must get in contact with Kane and Ash. I havent in a long time properly and im terrible.

On another random note, me and my dad (mainly my dad) tweaked with one of our PCs. Now when we play on the PS2 or any console connected to the TV and I can record whats going on. Which is great when I play Naruto Narutimett Hero 3 and other fast games with friends and my brother. Some of our fights are crazy XD

Just need some video editting software.

Im sorry if you got loads of journal entries about this one post. I submit my FAQ last so it was displaying on my dA front page, which I didnt want so I had to redo everything :S no biggy

Yay! I have just finished Project: Fate II (Web Development) and the site has gone live.

Now I am on my last project. Again its a Web Development project, most of it is completed but I will need to go over the code and make sure theres no mistakes.

I have learnt that taking on 3 big projects whiling working on my own site is tough. Getting them all done quickly and to a high standard is even tougher. I think making a schedule for each project would be a more effect way of dealing with this :S who knows?

I am also creating another new layout for PWUK but I am hoping that I can just build up a skining system so that people can choose whatever skin they most prefer. This way I can add new layouts all I like without losing content and risking downtime

This is a FAQ to help shed some light on the weird things in my journal. If there is any that is :S

About Journal Layout;
Sorry if the journal looks wierd to you, this is made using the preview window box size. Everything fits in that perfectly ;X So i guess this would be perfect for 800x600 users XD (If there still is any out there)

This layout sometimes uses the "acronym" html tag along with other HTML tags;
Example 1: noob
Example 2: PWUK

Currect Projects Key Legend;
I want to keep this as clean and as simple as humanly possible. xD

The first column;
[01], [02], [03], [etc]
means the number id of the project. This is not a work order in which im doing the projects in. They are for my own personal need.

The second column gives what work needs to be done next;
[GDes] = Graphic Design Work. This could involve a number of different things depending on the project. Could be a company logo or a website banner or just a forum signature. Who knows.
[WDes] = Web Design Work. This involves me drawing the plans and actually designing the layout and how it will look, along with all the graphics.
[WDev] = Web Development Work. This involves building the actual website using whatever coding languages that are necessary for the project. Most involve using a combination of HTML, PHP and CSS.
[BProj] = Big Project. Most likely means that the project needs all 3 of the above elements. I have done a couple of these before and they take awhile.
[RDes] = Re-Design. Normally its making minor changes to an existing design, quick and simple. In other cases its a major project.

The third column would be the title area for the clients name or the projects name.

The fourth column would be for whatever else needs to be added. Such as (myself) which states that the project is for myself. Easy to follow?

Well I have not touched it since the last update. I have been busy working on projects and sorting out 'Life' and its problems. The moment I have something to report about my site I will edit this area

Life Journal;
For someone who isnt employed, I work to much. XD

I finished my training course at Scout Enterprises and i'm back to looking for work at home and doing my normal routine of working all day and playing the rest of the time. I was also rejected from College. Why? Well a number of reasons but I will try to give the short version.

Course I tried to get on: ND in Art and Design.
I am to old. It wont help me get into Interactive Design. It would be a waste of 2 years. I would fail in Fine Art / Traditional Art. My grades are not enough. HND Interactive Design doesnt exist anymore. ND in Art and Design has nothing to do with Graphic Design or any Digital art in any way, shape or form.

That was what I was told.

I was told before I even signed up for the course that I could get on the ND Art and Design with a Merrit Profile in First Diploma in Media (which I have). I was also told I needed the ND Art and Design to get onto a HND Interactive Design but seeing as the course doesnt exist anymore. My whole time (2yrs) in college was for nothing. Well, education wise, for nothing. I wouldnt say the experience I gained through college was all that worth it either.

So there wont be anything worth wild to report here I guess for a while. Who knows. I might go out and do what other people do... yyeah... I might also try changing my career plan. Who knows. Web Design is all I know, and even then i'm only an amatuar.

Only time will tell, what fate is in store for me round the corner this time?

DA Journal;
I again let myself down by not submiting enough. Only this time its because I have been rather busy doing more important things. Once I finish my current projects I will have a load of things to submit to DeviantArt oh and some free time!

My opinion on DA v5
It looks okay, has some nice features that v4 never had but is very buggy. The developer didnt cross check browsers. If you use Opera (which I do) you will find a lot of bugs. Another thing I dont really like is that they have changed the Journal width ;___; Means everyone with some form of layout in there journal will have to alter it to suit the Journal system present.

I certainly like the 'mood' feature in comments and such. I know its not a major feature but its pretty cool in my opinion

My site has been under going a lot of changes just recently, what with a new domain coming and all. The only problem is nobody besides me and my host can see these changes, untill just recently when I posted a image and link into my gallery for people to look at and help me out XD

I have finished most of the basic content. Whats left is the actual proper portfolio content and then its ready for opening. The Interactive content will have to wait. Mainly because I want to include my own flash games (when I learn how to make them ) with the feature of submitting your high scores to my site, there will be scoreboards for each game and so on. As you can understand though, for someone who knows nothing about flash to make something like this will take a lot of time.

Anyway...

The advantage of not updating your journal for a couple of months is that when you talk about things like this you seem to have plenty to talk about. On the other hand, if you want to keep people informed about yourself then it would be useless

I have been extremely busy over the past 10 weeks. I have been sent to a training organisation called 'Scout Enterprises' by the Job Center. For 13 weeks I have been doing various things like First AID, Team building activities, and for 5 of those weeks a computer course regarding the building side of computers.

I am also have my own PC here so that I can work on Web Design projects and I also help around here when I can, doesnt help i'm not a computer wiz compared to some of the others but i'm more helpful than I thought XD.

I was hoping to have loads of designs, posters, art and so on ready by the time I next update but it seems I failed. I am really getting tired of this, I only have myself to blame though. Im gonna have to get out my timetable and start using that again x___X

I have come to the decision not to resubmit my old work. I will resubmit things from last year but I wont go any further. Its old work therefore it would not reflect my skills in the best of light. Plus it will look more random and messy than usual.

I dont know why but recently I have been having nothing but trouble with my site. Most the things that could go wrong has gone wrong. I dont mean to be negative but its true.

I also lack the ability to come up with any final designs for my own site. I seem to find it really easy designing for other people but when I design for myself, I just go blank. Its as if I know nothing about things like 'layout' and 'colour' and so on. It tends to make me feel rather depressed because I know I can do these things.

Maybe im having a Designers Block? Is there a such thing? (I know artists get Artist block, writers get Writers Block, but do Designers get Designers Block?)

Life is pretty much the same as always for me; Its moving but I find it pretty boring.

The past month or two has gone so quickly, which angers me a lot. I have not spent much time working on my site because I have been doing other things like helping my parents, playing with my little brother and other time consuming things. Dont get me wrong, i dont mind spending lots of time with my family and friends and doing the other time consuming things

I have no real comment to make on the new submission agreement now. Im just glad I remembered to delete my scraps (I forgot about them until today.) I just hope this sorts itself out soon. It would seem that things may start to heat up now with people noticing other people leaving because of this new agreement.

Its nice to see some people still submitting work to dA, I just hope there art is safe...

I have finished a project that I was doing for a friend and I will concentrate on my own site revival now! (I still have little bits and bobs to finish on the last project but I cant do much else untill we talk ;S)

I hope to get the new system up and running soon. I am trying to create and organize the Services section of my site. Which is why its taking so long. Im still unsure about a lot of things but the whole section will be Trial and Error and will need a lot of refining!

Off topic for a minate, I find it depressing that over the 7 years (maybe even longer)I still dont have even a remotely successful website built up. I calulated that I have been using Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop for roughly 7 years. Yet im unemployed and no income. Its mad. I guess im gonna have to go into the old folders and look for those 'get rich schemes' that everyone told me off for making >;3 mwuwhaha

The usually. I wake up, work on site, go to sleep. (maybe eat, play games and on the rare occasion do some exercise) I live a happy life ;3

Im thinking of going back to college this year (very little chance, depends how these next few months end up), but I will be damned if im going on the ND for Art and Design. I would rather jump of a really tall building with Helicopters flying by below and a load of sharp spikey things on the floor >_> Im hoping I can just jump on the HND for Interactive Design and pay my way through getting on. It might cost me an arm and a leg but I have worked for to long now just to give up i reckon. I have the skills just not the qualifications but if I provide a kick-ass portfolio, they would be stupid to turn me down ;S If I did go back, it might make life a bit more interesting. Meeting new people is always a good way of messing up your life (I dont have the best of luck...)

You might have noticed that I have nothing in my gallery anymore. This is because of the new submission agreements, terms and conditions and whatnot. If you would like to know more please follow this link; [link] and read the parts in BOLD.

Effectively DA can use anyones photographs, art, poetry and not tell you and make money off it. Maybe im wrong, maybe im over reacting. But I dont fancy risking all that I have worked for just for someone to steal it away from me. I know the chances are low but I plan to make money of my designs at somepoint so the last thingI wont is for DA to have the rights to my designs. ;/

I will probably still hang around here but I will not submit anything untill everything is cleared up. I just dont feel safe anymore. I also hope to increase awareness because i feel this is not right.

(Sorry if im wrong, I find this sort of thing rather confusing, I dont like the idea of someone else having the rights to my work ;/)

...journal Layout. It only took 3.5 hours, thats including choosing which icons to have, writing this journal and then trying to get everything just right.

Not quite sure if I like this layout or not though but it will do considering that I lost my last Journal Layout thing. Still cant figure out how I lost two journal entries for no reason, I probably deleted them while dozing off, been feeling really tired recently. This layout only has one new feature which will be coming soon once I have finished developing it properly; "Service's" This will be the same service's which my site will provide so what I will do is develop one and use the same on the other. If you get what I mean XD...

In other darelated news, I'm in the process of picking a new avatar for myself and if you have any spare time, could you please give me your feedback on the choices once you have seen them ;D

The layout is finished, or as finished as it could be. I am currently refining the content and trying to add some new content. Unfortunatly you cant add portfolio content that doesnt exist, which is the hard task. So i might run around seeing what I can do for others for my portfolio ;D

I am, like always, thinking up new ideas for my site. Currently I am debating with myself whether I should make a Naruto: Narutimett Hero 3 (PS2) fansite or maybe a Naruto fansite in general I dont know. Still thinking it over in my head. Would be nice to see if there is anyone in England who plays Naruto: Narutimett Hero 3 ;D

More importantly I should work on refining old content rather than thinking up more projects to consume my time with. But I guess thats the only way to get the site going anywhere XD

Its been nice lately. I have got into the nasty habit of lazying about which I'm only just getting out of now but its a slow process. Trying to play less and less because all games suck these days. I'm just getting fed up of seeing the same sort of thing being regurgetated over and over again. I play mainly multiplayer games because singleplayer games dont last very long. (could be because im the type of person who reads a book once, or plays an rpg once and only once...) But there are not many unquie multiplayer games out there. It seems that not many game companys have ever heard of CO-OP either, a feature rare these days. I think the best CO-OP game I have played recently has to be Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse but even then, FF:CC story is hidden and is VERY repeatitive which I dont like. You spend year after year doing pretty much the same thing and its not very big in size of the world map compared to most FF games. STZIRWAP has its problems as well, the game is to easy and its also to short. It is a funny game but its way to short. Me and a friend completed it under 12 hours on Insane which is the hardest level to play it on and we didnt struggle with the game dispite the fact I was a noob and my friend haddnt played it much. ;/

Moving along, did I mention life is pretty good yet? I hate ranting online, I tend to lose what im talking about and/or what im doing. XD

Thinking about getting a new, higher qulity camera so that I can take some better photographs and maybe short movies more often. I really am running around in circles. Which is annoying me and frustrating, which will be the theme of grammer and chosen language for the rest of this thread ;3.

Three of my designs where deleted because of "Copyright Violation" which is a little saddening but thats not why im posting on DA, not for sympathy at least. I guess I was warned not to promote myself like this before. Unfortunatly, to undo all of this damage would take far to long. I mean to undo all the designs I have done over the past 5+ years which involves something of someone elses would be nearly impossible, I would never delete it all either, its all far to important, I have been building upon this for far to long to let it all disappear. The only course of action I can think of now is to just stop and start fresh. I am keeping all my old designs, regardless whether it has official artwork in it or not because its an example of what I could do with a clients artwork when applied to a design of whatever kind but from now on, im gonna have to try my best at using only what I can make or use things that are free to the public like brushs, fonts etc.

Another point I would like to make out, not to get anyone in trouble and not to sound "bitchy" but the "Copyright Violation" stuff here at DA is a bit messed up in my opinion. I will only speak for myself because thats all I can speak for in this sort of situation, but i think its funny, when I credit the official artwork and its sources (like RO belongs to Gravity, I take no claims for the anime work, sprites, bla bla bal, but I did the manipulation and designs in the picture, banners and so on) it gets deleted. But if I dont say a word, its perfectly safe from people who run around deleting "Copyright Violations". I have seen a lot of designs on DA, a few of them also use official artwork(like game models from halo, official artwork from other games and anime series) but they are praised for there layout design, use of art, etc, and is untouched by "Copyright Violation" crap.

I know its wrong, but I think its funny.

*Sighs* I might have to redesign the layout AGAIN(maybe the 11th time, losing count, might be the 13th time).
The original final design had 2 official artworks within the main banner. One from CardCaptors Sakura and one from Outlaw Star. I have a test preview online, which if you would like to see please PM me asking because I am not linking it onto DA publicly. >_> Knowing my dumb luck, something bad would probably happen. I was in the process of doing the final content. Adding the colour using CSS (which is a little messy anyway ;X) but it was closing near to final release.

But as I said at the start, im running around in circles here. Just as I get near the end of the circle, I find that I have to run through the same crap as before, making a nice new run through the circle.

The above stuff is my life really, I dunno why I have this section on my DA journal really ;X. I dont do anything else, expect play games and the only new game I have been playing is Shadow The Hedgehog and Fatal Frame III but even then i havent played them for a while. I would normally complain, saying I need a proper life and crap, but im perfectly happy with the mess I got now. I can easily imagine my life being more socially active, I would hate all of it, mainly the drama >_> Need more multiplayer games so when my friends come over we actually have something productive, or at least good n fun to do. Nothing worse than playing the same game all day. Trying to be more active on everything, Im getting there slowly! XD
I submitted a few more designs, a few old and a few new ones but its enough now for me to join the WebDesigners Couch Club. A club mainly for Web designers but I was originally gonna join up in October but because i lacked the right amount of designs in DA i decided not to even ask

I also discovered I hate designing things with a "pretend purpose". Its hard to explain but I can only design stuff if its for a real person or with a real purpose with real reasons otherwise its like making something for nowone and then when you look at it, you notice that it always lacks something. So, what am I getting at here you ask? Well I decided to take peoples requests for layouts and maybe other graphic things

I have been a little busy and to distracted to do random images or designs which i normally post on DA. I lack the power to do half the things I want to do and the other half seems impossible for me. I have posted a few new things but they are nothing special and mostly in scraps because they suck.

Its about time I said something somewhere, whether my da friends hear this is another story but at least i said it; I am sorry if I do not comment on your work, journals and some of your comments. I do not mean that to harm anyone and I do not mean that to break our friendship, I am very thankfull that "you" comment and even read my stuff which makes me feel guilty because I do not do the same. I only login to DA to submit stuff and I normally find that I have over 200 messages, most from like a week or 2 back (some further back than that) and I feel rather out of touch because of this and rather than making a comment on a old thing for everyone else which is new to me, I just leave it...

I added 2 more friends who i have know for some time to the little list of avatars that seem to be growing...

At the moment I have been enjoying all my free time away from work, away from college and away from most responsibilities. Most.

Im soon going to be spending about a week with a couple of friends, basically there wont be any sleep so this should be interesting. Last time I did something like this i caved in after the second day, me need sleep. But playing on the x-box, playstation2 and gamecube should be interesting. Unfortunatly i have completed most of the games so this might not be any fun at all.

After that week, job finding will start. Now, this could totally suck or totally rock depending how and who i go to. I have no one to turn to at the moment so anything is okay as well as it pays. But dont expect me to be around much after the 20th of Augest.

I keep changing my mind wheither to stay at college again or to move on and get a job in the area I enjoy most; I hope to find work in Graphic Design or Web design or both. Im getting interested in developing for print but thats something our of my resources so I shall not go to far with that.

College related; I have my final major project to resubmit and thats about it, I must aim for Merit / Merit to pass the course with a Merit profile. I have Pass/Pass at the moment and that will not work for me >,> So I am redoing the research side and most the other parts of the FMP

But life in general seems kinda chaotic in a good sense. Where I only have a small group of friends, in which some of them i rarely see, I dont have any friend issues which is great =3

What Makes a good Presentation?

This is a article I wrote which I also used as research in my Final Major Project back in college, course; "First Diploma in Media". I was inspired to write this after realizing that not everyone understands what a PowerPoint presentation requires. This is my first writen article ^_^.

Recommendations, tips, advise and any sort of creative and constructive criticism are always welcome.

Research Article; What makes a good presentation?

To make a good presentation you must understand the original concepts of a "presentation" and you must also understand who the presentation is aimed towards, “Your target audience”. First off it would be handy for many people to understand what the word means;

“A show or display; the act of presenting something to sight or view; "the presentation of new data"; "he gave the customer a demonstration"”

Understanding this makes making a presentation much easier because you should learn that a presentation is meant to be purely visual rather than textual. In our case, presentations are things where we must talk about our chosen subject individually in front of an audience while using PowerPoint on a projector. This would mean that having pages upon pages of information all in text would be useless because the person presenting this must speak for 10 minutes and making the audience read everything when there is someone there who could read it is lazy and unprofessional.

When designing a presentation layout, if you decide to use information in the form of text then only use bullet points. Reframe yourself from using paragraphs of information because it will make your presentation messy and make you look bad. When designing a presentation layout, concentrate on adding images for your audience and leave all the text information to be read by the person presenting everything. People can communicate through images much easier then text. Also when designing a presentation layout, be careful about the colours you choose when creating the layout. Try to use colours that work together rather than colours that clash. (Black and white does not clash while blue and yellow hurt the eyes).

When presenting your presentation, make sure to keep good eye contact with your audience. Do not wear items that shield your eyes and do not look at the ground when speaking. You must acknowledge your audiences presents rather than hide from them. Keep a happy vibe and look forward at your audience and speak confidently and clearly and just loud enough for people to hear you be not to loud that they get headaches. Hand gestures will also help when making points. Entertainment and humour also help when presenting a presentation. For one, it generally makes you feel good when everyone starts laughing at a joke or pun that you made up for the presentation. And secondly it is good sign when your audience laughs because you know they are still listening and that your time is being well spent.

Other things that may help you in a presentation;
“hard form aids” for example, CD cases or prototype models of a product. These hard-form aids help because it gives the audience something to touch and feel allowing them to get a firm grip of what you’re presenting.
“Background music” for example, something that plays in the background but changes depending on what part of the presentation you are on. This helps add atmosphere to your presentation and depth. When you are trying to create a climax where something is gradually shown then the right background music would help you perfectly.
“A speech, a script” Scripts are very handy because they are meant to stop you from saying “er” and “erm” because you don’t know everything your meant to say. But reading and speaking from a script during the presentation can at times cause problems. This makes you seem unconfident and that’s something you don’t want to be seen as. It is best to have a script, memorize it and practice but throw it away come presenting time.

BLEEH!! >_< I havent had time to do anything on my site. I had completed a "maybe" layout which im happy with but who knows. Once College finishs I will start working on my site and start working on my portfolio

Bleeh >_> Life is okay. College sucks, gained almost nothing from it and most the things I did gain from it I could have done without college and probably would have done. My Final Major Project is nearly finised now, only 1 week left with that, then another 2 weaks then NO MORE COLLEGE XD So lots of free time untill I get a job.

I also decided not to go back to college because for about 4-5 years I have been running around trying to get into something in relation to Web Development mainly but nothing. The only course at college that I wantted and worked for 2 years in an attempt to get on it was "ND in Interactive Design" at Reading Art and Design College, which was in arms reach. But the government I beleive has changed it to a "BA Interactive Design" in all local colleges which is out of my reach now so BLEEH x_x. But I decided to go and get some work experience and find out what other areas there are that involves using Adobe Photoshop in the way that I can.

Hm, site database wiped for the second time, need to get in contact with host and see what I can do. I may even move host, dont want to ;~; It all sucks at the moment. There is even more bad news in the second part~

Haha, where should I begin. I guess I should begin with a "sorry". Im sorry that I havent been around for a long time. Both on DA and other things. My reason is, my PC blew up on me x.X Lucky me, my harddrives seem to have lived, or at least my second one with all my work on it.

The story; PC wouldnt turn on, checked the wires to make sure they were in, they were. Tried turning on the PC again, nothing. Decided to turn the monitor and speakers on, monitor came on but speakers didnt. My speakers are connected to my PC main power, so that makes sense. My dad switched the power cable for a different cable, just the same, thinking the fuse may have gone. Dad plugs it in and ZAP, followed by silence. My dad didnt even get a chance to turn it on ;~; So now im without a PC for awhile. Im on my moms PC but she has none of the things I had so im rather limited. And my brother uses this PC as well as my mom so I cant get on it all the time XD

*Sighs* And to top all that, I have 2 college projects running around cause chaos, Final Major Project and another Understanding Media Project. What I dont get is, the FMP should be the ONLY project I should be doing, not other things as well -_-; Hence FINAL Major PROJECT.

So im sorry Chibi and other people on my msn and aim. I wont be online for awhile, but some of you have my person contact anyway so... >3

Im back, for at least a while. Got into college and the course i wanted to be in. Re-opened the site with a cool new layout XD and i have 2 colleg projects that i should REALLY be working on ><;;

First I got a Photography Project (Studio Port.)
And secondly I got a Video Production Project (the martial arts movie XD)

The Summer is finally here, meaning i can spend more time on my Art and Site and my friends XD. Damn this summer is gonna rock XD

First off, i want to help my friends with a RPG of theres. I have lots of resoures and lots of ideas for the RPG .

Second, i will be expanding my site and getting my friend help out more on the site. Now he has a PC things will start rolling XD

Anywayz I have reasons (not excuses!) for not doing some of the things i said i would, the Oekaki is up- well kinda up, im working on a customized layout for it which is going to be awsome... once i get it working and the E-fiction, also know as; Fan-dom is up but is in the same postion as the Oekaki
My reasons are College related and other life threatening problems such as friend issues *shakes fist evily in the air* but all seems to be carming down... *cough*
