I went and saw what was going on, on the Sunday.

I only really saw the bands that played on the main stage though i of course heard other music as i mooched around the site.
Of the bands that played on the main stage i saw:

Alkaline Trio
I hadn't listened to much music from this band before the festival, in fact i had only really vaguely heard of them. However they were a great band to open the days playing on the main stage. Since the festival i have searched out and listened to a lot more of what this band has produced, and i like it!

Funeral for a Friend
I'd heard of these guys from friends and apparently they are good, seeing/listening to what they played, i agree with my friends that they are a good band.

Bullet For My Valentine
Hadn't really heard of these guys before, again only in vagueness, though they again played very well and there stuff is good.

NOFX
I missed a lot of this set due to being elsewhere on the site though what i heard and saw was both very funny and witty. Some bloke obviously a NOFX fan had brought a long a bugle(?) and the lucky sod got asked up on stage by NOFX and he gave us a bit of a play from the bugle(?) [the fox hunting announcement tune]. Great band to hear/see live though i still haven't really heard any of there recorded stuff. Shall have to search some out sometime.

Iggy & The Stooges
Don't really like the music Iggy plays/sings so didn't really watch most of his set, however felt obligated to at least see some of the great Iggy Pop and his band. They were alright, not really my kind of music though.

Incubus
Me and my friends managed to get ourselves into a starting position for this set of being about 20 people rows from the front of the crowd however during the set i got pushed shoved by other people and also by my own doing into a position of being about 8 people rows from the front. They were great to listen to and the atmosphere in the crowd was very hyped. FANTASTIC!

Marilyn Manson
Again didn't see all of this guys set because i find that a lot of his music sounds the same, though i made sure that i saw him as his stage antics are renowned and sure enough it was bizzar. At one point he was on stilts and crutches making him into some kind of giant four legged human. Great to say i've seen him though i wouldn't go to a gig of his.

Iron Maiden
Well this was the band everyone was waiting for, including me. I'm a big fan of maiden, and they really didn't dissapoint. There set was so awsome i fail to find the word to describe it, the croud was mega, especially when chanting out "maiden" with the double claps and everyting to the empty stage, before a 20 minute encore was played.
What a spectacular end to a stupendous day.

If when next years line up is announced it is a good one then me and my friends all plan to go up for the weekend.

On To Other News
My interview with Blockbusters failed to result in a job, but i have two more interviews lined up for this week. One for Wetherspoons (a pub chain, i forget the actual name of the pub in fareham) and Thorntons (the seller of delicious chocolate).

The year as its been so far, for me personally

January
Well at the beginning of the year my (now ex) girlfriend and i had enjoyed a great christmas with her relatives [mostly] was a good time.
Got back to college and sat exams the week after coming off of the christmas holidays, they went well, boosted some of my rubbish AS level results through resists.

February
My brothers 14th birthday was on the 2nd and he has grown well into be a pain in the arse teenager, but actually i think thats just him.

March
I'm sure i was bogged down with the last bits of actual college learning before revision got underway during this month.
The easter holiday was great, spent three days on holiday with my (now ex) girlfriend and my family, and then the rest of the week was just me and her alone in my (family) house. What fun we had!

April
Well things between (my now ex) girlfriend were on a real bad slide this month and it only got worse, things just didn't seem to go right at all.
Revision for the summer exams really got heavy this month, ooh its so much fun (and for those who can't tell that was sarcasm).

May
May 1st me and my girlfriend break up after one and a half years together, it broke my heart i really though we were meant for each other (and yes i know that sounds a bit sad) the rest of this month was not fun, i was heartbroken and deep in revision for the summer exams which for me were looming after the half term at the end of the month. Thankfully this revision really kept my mind mostly off the emotional loss.

June
Well my last college exams were finally upon me, 10 of them, pure hell for a good few weeks. i hate exams, i just don't perform well in them even if i know the answers to what is being asked i generally bugger them up.
Of course once the exams were done i was free of college forever, it was a good experience, the education was good, taught in a much better than in school and the freedom was great.
Emotionally i grew loads with the long term girlfriend and the loss of her. Something which i learnt a lot from and hopefully has improved me as a person.
I left my job at BHS after working there a year due to certain things which i could no longer stand.

July
Finally my 18th birthday was here, it felt good to finally be able to legally go into a pub, having the ID to say "hey i'm 18 let me get pissed alright!". other than that it was an incredibly uneventful month, one which passed quicky even though i was doing pretty much nothing at all.

August
Finally results day arrived on the 18th, and i felt i achieved the best i could, the grades weren't what i had hoped i would get when i first entered college, but i'm happy with what i've got. Which is the important thing in the end. I won't be going to university this year due to certain things, which whilst disappointing is not the end of the world and i most definitely will be going to university next year. (Though the costs will have risen dramatically, damn the government!)
I'm going to the Reading festival on Sunday, IRON MAIDEN headlining, just awesome!! There are some other really great bands playing too, it will be my first gig/festival experience and am looking forward to it immensely. I will be going with three friends who include =6robyn9, so look forward to seeing the photo's next week!
I had my first job interview since leaving BHS yesterday, through no fault of my own its just that its the first place to get back to me since then from all the places i've put in my CV. I'll find out whether or not i've got the job later on today. [damn them i was not employed!!!]

Well we all know about this, and if you don't...were you living in a remote cave somewhere with your fingers in your ears??? Personally i feel sorry for the guy he missed out on a proper childhood and i think that has had an odd effect on him. But i don't think he would kiddie fiddle, he does genuinely want too be there friends only, but he's just got an odd way of showing it, due to his childhood. Though from what i can remember hearing he is now going to be a lot more careful, and who can blame him.

having read lots about the current situation on DA i am going to write my thoughts and oppinions on them (which are constantly in revision)

it is still devastating what has unfolded and my support still lies with °jark and the DA community

$spyed has at last given us some sort of a response to this matter ([link]) and it will i hope only be the first of part of the explanation, though he hasn't actually given an answer to the question but merely skirted around the issue by blinding us with political garbage. Though i do wish $lolly all the best in his new position.
And stateing that he was a co-founder from the beginning is outragious since the original idea was most definately thought up and first brought into creation by °jark and °matteo. so really he has only co-founded the large widespreadness that is the site today, which i give all three of them and $mccann full praise for, as this site is awsome and the community fantastic.
(i feel that $spyed's comment sould have come much sooner though and that the delay in him giving his response has only been a detrimental influence on the community)

[i apologise to Angelo for previously stating that he has only been on this site since 2002, i have altered this journal accordingly]

i must say that many of the deviants in the community are acting in an irresponsible way and also very childish in some ways. °jark's journal's continually ask for diplomacy to be used and i do feel that is the only way to approach the matter as firey uprising will not be listened too.

My News

well my 18th birthday has now been and gone, got quite a few presents all of which were wonderful

i'm going to be going to the Reading festival this year and it should be great fun and a bundle of laughs

i am now fairly desperate to find a job as i could really do with an income and something to fill up my time as i don't have much to occupy me currently.

i have been seriously innactive in the last couple of weeks or so (ever since the beginning of july really). this has been because of other commitments and the fact that i havn't been in the mood for DA. but i'm back now and am looking forward to partaking in the community once again and submitting some new photos soon.

having purchased the new harry potter on the day of its release at 12:01 saturday morning, i set about reading it and finished it that day. its sad what happens in the end, i also felt betrayal and intense hatred. it was facinating to find out so much and i look forward to the final book and the ending of the story. i am not going into to much detail as i think that it is immensly cruel to those who havn't finished it yet. however i do feel if they really had wantd to find out what happens next they would have finished it by now. but thats no reason to spoil.

i went to see 'the wedding crashers' on thursday with a couple of mates and it is a hillarious movie and i recommend everyone to go and see it. i definately will be getting it when it comes out on DVD

i have given up smoking at last and it has now been a whole week and a bit since i last had nicotine enter my system and i look forward to its continued absence.

News about the world around me

London has been bombed twice within the last month. these events were horrific in there intent, though the british will seems to have held together and done this country well. It is unfortunate about the killing of a man by plain clothes officers who it now appears had nothing to do with the bombings, my sorrow goes out to his family and the families of all those who perished in the bombings. I only hope that the perpatrators are caught as swiftly as possible.

The bombing of the Egyptian holiday locations is absolutly unforgivable and is an outright attack on people and not governements. (yes it is slightly perhaps) The unforgivable and malicious attacks being made by terrorists in the last months is unforgivable and is truely unfortunate for the muslim communities and islamic faith as so many stupid people now harbour the normal religous muslim a grudge which is unfounded as islam does not promote what is going on, and it is just ridiculus extremists performing these acts and i only hope these people are stopped and caught as soon as possible.

although i wasn't there (which was a shame but i was at the festival of the sea for my mums birthday so wouldn't have been able to attend even if i had won tickets) the Live 8 concert was a great thing and really promoted the awareness of poverty which is only a good thing.

Sport

My News

i've now completed 8 of my 10 A level exams i've got this summer

i'm working my last ever saturday at BHS this weekend coming, as i decided to quite having had enough of working there, i dislike the management and the pay is rubbish

i'm dissapointed that i couldn't make it to the Summit on the weeked, but its the middle of the exam period and i really don't have the money at the moment to have gone either (which i think is a real shame, but mark my words i'll make it to one in the future)

i'm now offering the knowledge i've gained over two years of being on DA to all those new deviants by greeting them with kind words and offers of help if its required. I hope i'm being of use to you new deviants out there

if you like my photography look forward to seeing some new stuff in about 2-4 weeks as i'll be enjoying not having college and taking lots of new pics, and i'll have some shots of the happenings from the festival of the sea when me and my family go on the 2nd of july.

i finally turn 18 in fourteen days, i can't wait

World News

M.Jackson got off on all of the counts he was charged with, which i think is right because whatever kinda of weirdo i think the man is i definately don't believe hes a paedophile, he's just a boy trapped in a mans body

Live 8 is another awsome idea of Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, its already highlighted its aim so well and helped i think bring about so much of what has happened for cancelling African debt which will help the restructuring of poverty stricken nations. The G8 summit next month i only hope carries on what momentum has already been gained.

World Sport

Well the US Grand Prix was a huge farce, its terrible what it has done to the sport and only added to the turmoil that is currently affecting the sport. WTF were michelin doing for christs sake, bringing a tyre that would fail. And the FIA, well this current reign of the governing body is rubbish and has only been a bad thing for the sport Max Mosley needs to be thrown out and the teams must be allowed to have a say in what happens in 2008 which currently won't happen under Max's proposed enforced plans.

Wimbledon is underway and its been a good first day i just hope the weather remains good for the rest of the tournement

Germany have won the womens euro championship for the fourth time in a row. Its a shame that england dropped out too early, they have such a good team at the moment and were tipped for good things in the tournement, hopefully they'll do better in the workd cup in 2007

English cricket is the best it's been after such a long time of being iffy. its beaten australia in its opening one day day's and australia lost to bangladesh, HA! looks good for the ashes and england finally bringing it back home
