Apparently New Zealand was the first country to get the new Windows Vista officially... as of 1am yesterday, where it's available in various stores...
Good thing?
I think not.
I believe that Microsoft released Vista to New Zealand for several strategic reasons:
1. New Zealand would be the gamma? testers, or whatever comes after beta testers. We are to use Vista nationwide, and the numerous bugs which reside in all Microsoft products would reveal themselves, so Microsoft could fix them.
2. It is quite likely that a 'service pack' would come out really soon, I'd give it 2 or 3 months.
3. New Zealand has the technology (it's still pretty shit, I stand by that), people who can run Vista, and rich enough to buy the Premium Version as well. Unlike Mozambique, for example.
4. Vista isn't even retailing in America yet (or so I heard). This would mean that Microsoft is liable to be planning to fix the bugs? before releasing the majority of customers like America and Europe etc.
So if you're gonna buy Vista soon... think again
