So here is 7 ways to have fun with stereograms:

1. Fun solving a puzzle. Lots of puzzles are hard and not fun at all because they make you think too hard to solve them. Stereogram is a different story, there's actually no need to think, your brain resolves hidden image naturally, without any brain strain. And the more you stare the more details you see.

If you don't have Xara Xone, you can try same approach for depthmap creation using your preferred software. I'm pretty sure you can do that in Photoshop for example.

For stereogram rendering Gary uses Stereographic Suite, feel free to get it or download trial version from http://www.indasoftware.com/stereo/

And for blending stereogram layers Xara Xtreme is used in the tutorial. If you don't have one you can use any photoshop-like software with the same approach.

If you look a parallel stereograms with cross eyed sight, or visa verse, the picture will look inside-out. Some people can only use cross eyed vision so they see inversed pictures in my stereograms.

I happened to make a couple of cross eyed stereograms during my "carrier" but I don't submit them to my gallery because most people prefer parallel ones.
