My laptop almost got kileld by its battery

Tip #49 People don’t yell just to yell
If someone yells at you there is a reason more often it is safety

Tip #50 They will break you down chose to live it out or quit
Machining is a hard job they will be hard on you they do this to weed out the people that really don’t want to do this kind of work

Tip #51 Sarcasm will come and bit you in the butt
Make a joke about work say like for example “this machine will only be cleaner if I paint it” they might make you do that

Tip #52 No matter what you clean will never be clean
A shop is dirty so no matter how clean you make something it will just get dirty again

Tip #53 If you take something apart you should not have left over parts
If you do you did something wrong and the machine will probably break

got a job for a mouth all teh money made there went to pay FAMILY bilsl for the mounth. That was all of my money

cleaned my former room for them to use as storage

cleaned the hallway

bought a car that they stole from me

reorginized the sheds

step the pool up

got my Drivers lisens. Because they would not stop bitching till i got it. they bitched at me for getting it then loseing my job the next day.

Planted the garden plants that they purchaded and have weeded the garden.

bundeled up over 30 budles of 30 lbs branches for the trash

cleaned teh exersize equitment off untill they sent me stuff to store and that was the only place that is open.

The people in a shop want the shop to run better and passing on knowledge is the best way that will happen they will always share the tricks they have picked up. So asked they will tell.

Tip #44 Watch for pinch points on handles
Theses will hurt and even brake bones be careful around anything that can move

Tip #45 Most tools can be used in unintended ways
Tools like your 6” scale can be a scraper a scraper can be a counter sink examine your tools and try to think of others ways they can be used. Just because it is not what they were designed for does not mean it wont work

Tip #46 If you need to sharpen a knife fast slice though a piece of sand paper
Really it will sharpen both side of the knife like a sanding stone

Tip #47 Don’t Give them a reason to complain
Trust me they won’t need one so just don’t make it easy on them to complain

The higher up the person is the more they will complain about your work impress them and the underlings will say nothing

i got a job interview i need to segual with a steel compny got an email about it today.

My family is driveing me crazy. they yell at me for every thing even things i am not around for. things i have no contorl over.

1. got yelled at for going on a bike ride 2 times. they say they want me and my brother getting excercize but when i do they yell at me WTF.

2. Got yelled at becouse my mother steped on a peince of broken glass i was out on my bike when someone tossed keys at the lap to brake the glass. and i was still gone when she steped on it. i was yelled at by the person the tossed the keys.

3. yelled at because i cant bundle a whole yard of branches in 1 hour alone and clean my entire room and a secound yard and a kitchen and a chair. if someone can do all this tell me.

4. wanting to rest my body from all the house work before i go to security gaurd trianing.

I cant take this any more

In my frustraion i forgot to update my tips
it has been 11 days since my last one so here are 11 tips

Tip #30 No matter what you see others do fallow the rules
The others have seniority so management will look the other way to them braking some small rules but you being new they will crack down on so until you have been there a few years fallow the rules

Tip #31 Don’t be late
Nothing looks bad on a record in a shop that someone walking in late to work BUT if something happens like car breaks down or misses a bus Call your shop up and tell them they will understand and might say work a little later to make up for it if you call in

Tip #32 Eat breakfast
It is hard to focus on your work when you are thinking how hungry you are

Tip #33 Exercise before work
It is physically demanding in the shop be prepared take a quick jog do jumping jacks do something to warm up your body

Tip # 34 No matter how hard you work someone won’t be happy
There is always someone with a higher standard that the work you have done

Tip #35 Rule change for every shop
Always know the rules

Tip #36 If there are tools by your work station you might need them
People leave tools related to a job near the machine running it

Tip #37 Always have paper
You may need to take notes about a job

Tip #38 if late or sick always call in
If you don’t call it does not only look bad but it can cost you your job

Tip #39 don’t hit your hand with a hammer
It hurts and dead blow hammers can break your fingers

Tip #40 Always Check Your Coolant
If you don’t your machine could end up breaking and bad things like destroying the machine will happen

Tip #41 Make sure your Chipper is on
If it is not your chips will build up and make a big mess that you will have to clean up

When you enter a shop as an apprentice the people above you might always see you as one even when you are a journeyman. But remember there are people coming in below you

Tip #19 when someone says to clean something ask for an example of clean
Everyone will have a different opinion as to what is clean. Clean to their standards or better

Tip #20 Always bring a clean set of clothes
You will get dirty and unless you want to ride in a car covering in grease or coolant or chips BRING CLOTHES

Tip #21 Safety first last and always
If you think it is dangerous ask for advice on how to do something safely. It is better to do the job long but safe than quick and have you lose an arm.

Always push equipment when you can things in a shop from chip bins to tool cart and machines are heavy if you stop fast when pulling them they WON’T and they will run you over and BADLY Hurt you. So push them when you can and if you do have to pull do it slowly.
