I did fine the first three days (by day two I had 10,000 out of 50,000 words, which put me head a little) in case there was a day when I couldn't find the time to work on it. Well, so much for that brilliant idea. I have neither the time nor the energy to do it this year, and next year I definitely won't be able to.

I just can't find the time to do that as well as every other writing assignment that's MANDATORY.

Besides, I'm thinking of completely closing my account here. It's... not getting anywhere. I have no time for art and I rarely draw anymore, anyway, because I HAVE NO TIME.
Is it true that the new Jasper chipsets in the new Xbox 360 SKUs run quieter, consume less power, and are more reliable than ever before? I have my eye on an Xbox 360 Arcade (I REALLY want to play Halo 3 SOMETIME in my life), which is the cheapest of the 360s, and I know that they all come with the new chipsets. So, should I still fear the Red Ring of Death, or should I just "Jump In" and not worry about it?

And now for my monthly rant.

I have been perusing the Jak and Daxter section of FF.Net, more out of curiousity than "fan"-osity (seeing as I am an avid, maybe even obsessive, member of the Halo Nation). Why are there so many badfics portraying Jak's two years in prison, and going on and on about the bad things that happened? IT'S BEEN OVERDONE, peoples. Come up with something new. At least when I was writing for the fandom, I skipped those two years entirely and focused on the results. In my canon, Jak's soul was partially taken over by an evil supernatural being trying to twist what good was left in Reising through the many victims of the DWP. Therefore, Jak had facets I haven't seen explored, never mind MENTIONED, anywhere else. Um, yeah, that's about as unique as it gets.

The fandom is... well, dead. Hate to say it, but it's true. The great writers have moved on and the newcomers have taken over. Stop beating a dead horse.

On a more pleasant note, I no longer have writer's block. I had an idea about taking key scenes in the first three Star Wars episodes and rewriting them by just very slightly tweaking dialogue and personalities to show that even the slightest change can make a huge difference (Star Wars fans, you all know what I mean. The prequels just didn't have that SW spark).

My uncle has an Xbox, he let me have it since he NEVER used it, and now I'm a Xbox fan too. That thing was built like a freakin' tank - play for six hours straight and it hardly makes a squeak. Haha. It also came with two controllers and a BRAND NEW copy of Halo, so I play cooperative more often than single-player in the campaign. Later, I found the Halo 2 Legendary Edition at a pawn shop for twelve bucks and played it through in THREE DAYS via about SIX HOURS each day. Then I got KOTOR I and played it through in about twenty hours (well, I didn't FINISH... I got so frustrated I started a new game that followed the KOTOR canon). The Star Forge level SUCKS because things RESPAWN too fast!

Yup. So until the PS3 matches the Xbox 360 in terms of price, well... nope, not buying it. Literally. For the time being, I am far more interested in games like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Tomb Raider Underworld, and so on, rather than Blu-ray. Too expensive. Although I love inFamous. A lot. A lot a lot.

Questions? Comments? Queries? Flamage?

Of course, that'll be $299 of my hard-earned bucks out the window... and another $100 or so off the bat when I get Advent Children Complete, Prototype, and probably GTA IV...

Anyway, snagged this one from ~Meowen.

<img src="http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/boing.gif" width="9" height="17" alt=":boing:" title="Boing! Hudson/Vasquez (Aliens)
5.) Jak/Rayne (Jak and Daxter)
6.) Vincent/Rosso (FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus)

Three Ships I Liked, but Not Anymore:

7.) Yuffie/Vincent
8.) Lara/Kurtis (Tomb Raider)
9.) Seymour/Yuna (Final Fantasy X)

Three Ships I Hate:

10.) Sephiroth/Tifa
11.) Seven of Nine/Chakotay (Star Trek Voyager)
12.) Cloud/Aerith

Two Ships I’m Curious About, but Don’t ACTUALLY Ship:

13.) Rikku/Gippal (FFX)
14.) Ripley/Burke (Aliens)

1.) Why do you dislike #11 so much? (7 of 9/Chakotay)
The whole thing appeared in the last three episodes. That isn't enough time for any relationship to develop. I'm sorry.

2.) Who is someone you know that ships #13? (Rikku/Gippal)
A few people, but nobody specific.

3.) What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3? (Yuffie/Reno)
Hmm... a hot tub that Cloud randomly buys and Reno being a general pain to Yuffie because he's just that good. After all, we all just KNOW that waaaaaaaaaaaaay - and I'm talking WAYWAYWAYWAYWAY - deep down, Yuffie has a thing for hot tubs and redheads. Yup.

4.) Which is your favorite episode for #1? (Sephiroth/Aerith)
Not episode, per se, but I've seen a few fanfics that stick these two in believable situations. I'm okay with resurrecting Sephiroth as long as it's done for a reason, preferably one that is revealed later. Overall, I think the best scenario I've seen, which wasn't really expanded upon, was when Sephiroth came crashing through the roof of Aerith's church instead of Cloud. Hmm, I might have to play with that idea a bit...

5.) How long have you been following couple #6? (Vincent/Rosso)
Since I bought Dirge of Cerberus CHEAP at GameStop. I liked the game, it was a nice break from the RPG-style play of typical Final Fantasy. I just thought that Rosso was just creepy enough, and Vincent just stoic enough, for them to fit. Then again, I'm probably just crazy.

6.) What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring? (Lara/Kurtis)
I fell out of Core's Tomb Raider universe in preference of the new Crystal universe. Besides, I just think that there's too many loose ends and they're... just no.

7.) Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4? (Kadaj/Tifa or Hudson/Vasquez)
Although H/V has been my favorite much longer, Kadaj/Tifa (aka Kadifa) has usurped it. Although they never physically meet, there's where the glory of AU comes in. The dynamics between the two would be great without alteration, and if you add a little mind control and Jenova cells and a certain silver-haired general making an attempt to destroy the world again, well... RECIPE FOR SUCCESS.

8.) You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12. (Sephiroth/Tifa or Cloud/Aerith)
Cloud/Aerith. Sorry, but I just don't see it.

9.) What interests you about #14? (Ripley/Burke)
Burke is freaking scary and half-psycho, Ripley is levelheaded, Burke wants to use the Aliens for weapon purposes, Ripley wants to blow them all up. I got plotbunnies of doom once while watching Aliens and suddenly realized that there's something freaky about these two going at it in a slightly different way - like Ripley trying to kill Burke and the two somehow ending up in some weird situation... I could rant for days on this, man.

10.) When did you stop liking #7? (Yuffie/Vincent)
When I discovered the wonder that is Yuffie/Reno. Ah, yes.

11.) Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show? (Seymour/Yuna)
Nope. I continued to enjoy the FFX/FFX-2 universe long after I stopped being interested in Seymour and Yuna.

12.) What's a song that reminds you of #5? (Jak/Rayne)
Bryan Adams' "Run to You" is first and foremost. It gathers these two in a nutshell and probably explains why I still like the ship. John Waite's "Missing You" also snags the second-place title.

13.) Which of these ships do you love the most?
Sephiroth/Aerith, Kadaj/Tifa, Hudson/Vasquez, and Jak/Rayne. But choosing from one, Hudson/Vasquez because a) I shipped them when I was about four, making them my first-ever ship, and b) there's so many dynamics of them in the film and a lot of touchin...

They're literally everywhere, even in literature, films, and so on. Therefore, I refuse to apply the term to any characters of any universe or any series anywhere anymore. I know some still qualify (Keira, Bella, Lucrecia, Dr. Manhattan, etc.) but unless they are just OMIGOSHSUESOHNOES, I will have no further say.

I struggled so hard to keep my original characters for my original novels away from Sue/Stu-ness that it got ridiculous. I can't currently even write OCs for established fandoms because I am so tired of "oh, see? She can wield a blade almost as well as Zack, she's a SOLDIER, therefore she's a SUE!" And that female character is a SOLDIER character I want to show to the online community, but I feel as though I can't, because she will be most likely pointed out as a Sue. Even though I took great pains to do otherwise with her.

I found out that some people consider the Master Chief a Stu, Lara Croft a Sue, and so. Okay, so one's a cybernetically augmented super-soldier, one's a aristocrat. They both have reasons why they can do what they do, and besides, that doesn't mean they're perfect. Lara has done stupid things in her time, after all. Sorry, had to get that out of the way.

Is anyone else tired of the Sue Crusades? I know I am. Not every OC is a Sue/Stu, people. There are some fantastic authors who write OCs and are being ignored because the summary happens to say "OC" somewhere in it. And it's not just flaws that make a character, it's how he/she deals with those flaws. I haven't been writing since I was four to not have anything to say about original characters, folks (some of my earliest female characters had "long flowing hair and crystal blue/violet/green/pick-a-freaking-color eyes". Simply atrocious).

What started this rant? I came across YET ANOTHER Sue/Stu thread and realized how ridiculous people will get, and it is becoming very tiresome. I know we're all tired of Sues/Stus swamping our favorite fandoms, but go after the ones who really ARE those types of characters.

I can't come up with anything unique for my stories because I'm afraid of Sues/Stus. I'm even beginning to see the main character in James Cameron's "Avatar" as a freaking Stu now. That's how bad it is. It's gone on long enough, it's gone FAR enough, and I think everyone's sick of it.

Please stop the Sue Crusades. It hurts the real writers.

Thanks for reading.

Years ago, when I wrote poorly and had Mary Sues and self-inserts and whatnot, people loved my work and I rarely got flamed. Nowadays, I write realistically and stay far away from OCs if the situation doesn't call for it, I study up on the canon characters and I write fluidly and in ways that I know people would like.

So, is it just summer vacation, or is everyone just avoiding my stories?

And it's just curiosity. I am writing a Halo fic that is guaranteed to have twists no one saw coming, but I won't finish it if no one is going to read it (and by read, all writers appreciate reviews). I recently entered the FFVII fandom, too, and I wrote and published only when I felt comfortable enough to do it.

So, I reiterate:

Twenty-eight chapters gained 117 reviews for my Mary Sue self-insert fic, "Jak: Revelations". Nineteen chapters gained forty-three reviews for my Tomb Raider fic, "The Ruby Star". So, what gives? The same thing happens with my artwork, too: fanart gets some views, and my original space art earns... none.

Needless to say, I am not a content writer/artist right now. Any feedback to my questions would by much appreciated.

I seriously have to upload the artwork I've been doing lately, too.

My newest fics are listed below. Find them at FanFiction.Net/~humanbeldot. All except "Reverence Fall" are one-shots and don't take too long to read:
Afar - FFVII:AC, Kadifa (Kadaj/Tifa) and Breathing - FFVII:AC, Kadifa

Relic - Halo 3, slight AU, featuring Cortana discovering that John's luck has finally run out. Angst/drama.

Chocobo - FFVII:AC, featuring Yazoo finding a materia that allows him to turn Kadaj into a chocobo. Humor.

Halo: Reverence Fall - Halo 2 AU, sequel only if desired.

I hate satellite Internet.

That being said, I'm sorry I haven't been around. Not that I think anybody missed me, but whatever. It turns out I got my fanfiction groove back and I recently published a Halo fanfic. Which I would appreciate if you would go see at my page on FanFiction.net. I also plan on (shocker, shocker) completing my JakII: Renegade fic. Wow. Maybe it's the rumors of the new Jak and Daxter game coming out this fall. Either that, or I finally decided to give Erol that sadistic and downright evil side everybody else portrays him like.

It will be interesting. Once I actually get around to it. Which might not be anytime soon.

In the meantime,
a) I saw Star Trek on May 9. I must say that it makes plenty of noteworthy "homages" to the original series and a few to the films and other series, although they are slightly more subtle. It's one of the best movies I've seen in YEARS.
b) I just saw Terminator Salvation today. Christian Bale didn't do too well, I thought, but then again, he isn't my idea of a great actor anyway. I'm more of a Gerard Butler person. Besides, Sam Worthington totally ruled that movie. And Yelchin, who played Kyle Reese (and Chekov in Star Trek 2009), did a fantastic job.
c) If you haven't read the "Alien Chronicles" trilogy and you like fantasy, sci-fi, or a mixture of the two, you have to read it. Without giving too much away, it's set in a distant galaxy in a distant time with an all-alien cast of characters. I found myself almost in tears at some of the things that happened. When a book affects you that way, you really feel like you're reading something good. It's under the Lucasfilm label but has absolutely nothing to do with Star Wars. They're by Deborah Chester. Check the reviews on Amazon.com if you want more info.

Don't count on me uploading art anytime soon. Satellite Internet sucks and I can't get to a fast Internet connection that allows deviantArt. It makes me very angry.

By the way, I'm on book three of the Alien Chronicles. I read the first two in the space of about five days and couldn't put them down unless I absolutely had to.

As many of you should know, the PS2 version of Tomb Raider: Underworld was released on the fifth. Before then, between the release of the PS3 version and now, I came across screencaps, renders, and information about the game, unable to hold back from reading spoilers anymore.

The Doppelganger from TRU is a clone of Lara created by an Atlantean. The Doppelganger has red hair and golden (amber) eyes.

Erol had red hair and golden eyes.

Coincidence? Hope so, or else it's just fueling my idea that Erol and Jak were somehow created to be polar opposites of each other for a reason. I probably read way too much into games and novels and such, but it kind of makes sense.

Or maybe I'm just going crazy.
2009 is the International Year of Astronomy, commemorating the 400th year of Galileo's telescope being pointed at the stars for the first time in 1609. As a way to celebrate, I am probably going to delve into writing a few little tidbits of poetry or something to go along with some pictures I hope to be creating soon with Photoshop.

Me being fascinated with astronomy, astrophysics, etc., this year is turning out to be one of my favorites. Observatories and spots for space photography have been set up around the world to capture pictures of the heavens, so there are lots of beautiful and wondrous pictures to choose from for inspiration! Google it and see what comes up if you're interested.

The other thing I wanted to mention was KHInsider. For some reason, every time I try to download a song, it brings me to a page saying "Error: File currently unavailable". Doesn't matter which song I try, they all come up with the same result. Does this have something to do with the master server requiring donations to remain running?

Anybody who can answer this question would be more appreciated!

<img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/boing.gif" width="9" height="17" alt=":boing:" title="Boing!
I am a complete Tomb Raider geek. I have been ever since I played Tomb Raider III way back when. And when I heard soon after the Tomb Raider: Anniversary release that there was an eighth game on the way, I about had a heart attack of happiness. I thought maybe they'd ruin the series when Core Design handed the torch to Crystal Dynamics, but on the contrary, they made it even better!

And I've been following all the Tomb Raider: Underworld press releases, renders, screenshots, etc. since they first started appearing on Tomb Raider Chronicles late last year. I've watched all the vignettes and trailers as they've been released as well. The CGI teaser was great, the gameplay trailer even better.

But the launch trailer is the best of all.

The music is great. The animation is perfect. The environments are beautiful! This game will not disappoint newcomers, nor diehard fans of the series!

See the official launch trailer here at the TRC site. It's a Flash application, and takes a bit to load, but I promise that it is worth it!

You can also find the launch trailer at the TRC YouTube channel if you're too lazy to wait for the Flash to load.

Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released simultaneously for the PS3, PS2, PC, Xbox 360, DS, and Wii on November 18 in the US, and November 21 in Europe.

And when I head into GameStop Wednesday to pick up the game, I'm taking all four of my Jak and Daxter games and my two Final Fantasy in to trade in for credit. I have a feeling that this game will be more than worth it!

I'm terribly sorry, all of you, but all my accounts - humanbeldot on YouTube, humanbeldot on livejournal, etc. - have been inactive for so long because I have had no desire to draw or make anything on Photoshop, and all of my fanfiction is on the back burner as I fight writer's block to finish my full-length novel. Look, I haven't forgotten about the fandoms and everything: they're still heavily on my mind. But for specifics, you'll have to read on.

And on a side note - I can't wait for the release of Tomb Raider: Underworld on November 18! I have actually saved up a lot of money to buy it, even though the PS2 version costs a lot less than the others at only $29.99. I don't find it necessary to buy a PS3 UNTIL, IF, or WHEN they create and release a Slimline PS3. Then and only then.

ABANDON THE FANDOM?
Jak and Daxter: Yes, I have wholly and utterly abandoned the fandom. To me, no matter how good your writing is - yes, this goes for the J&D BNFs out there too - the fandom is childish. Mary Sues swamp the place. It's severely out of date. Too many people are trying to make it serious when, in all actuality, it isn't that serious of a series. I'm not bashing anybody: it's just that, now that I am creating an entire universe that is wholly original, I see no point in it.

Aliens/Predator: No, I haven't abandoned this fandom. It might be largely dead and focused on these ridiculous Predator/human relationships, but I hope to bring it to life again one day. I think stories in this fandom should be focused on the millions of possibilities, canon and AU, that exist in the films and books: for example, someone seriously needs to explore Leona Cantrell's pregnancy, or what would happen if certain characters hadn't been killed off when they were. Or write stories centered around canon characters. OCs are okay; they just get boring after a while.

Tomb Raider: Without this fandom, I wouldn't be so fascinated by ancient cultures and everything else mentioned herein. But I am not going to write for it. Draw for it, sure, but I see no point in writing for it.

South Park: This is one of the few fandoms that, I believe, can easily be taken seriously: Parker and Stone could easily make a drama film out of this series, and it would be perfectly believable. Most of the newer episodes are less funny and more epic, which to me is almost more attractive. I have a fiction planned for this series, but don't expect anything until I have my novel heavily completed, if not 100%.

Doctor Who: The series is officially dead until 2010. You won't see anything Doctor Who-related out of me. Ever.

WRITER'S BLOCK
My novel stands at roughly sixteen pages at this point, which will probably be exceeded once I return to writing it in a few moments. Because it takes up all of my thought processes, involves my every waking moment, and causes me to fill pages of sketchbooks and notebook paper with sketches and ideas, this is truly my baby. I have breathed life into it, researched many different topics ranging from bushido to the geography of Nepal to various stars and planets, written in it at my every opportunity, and poured my blood and sweat into it. If this novel fails to be completed, then I have failed in my endeavour to become an author. It's going to take a lot committment.

TWILIGHT
Okay, last thing: everybody stop bugging me about the Twilight Saga - and if you haven't bugged me yet, DON'T. I don't want to read the books. I don't do vampire romance deals, anyway, the only exception being the film "Near Dark" (Severen/Diamonback, baby). And don't even mention this part of my journal if you comment, because I would really like to keep it minimal. My friends and sister have already threatened to hurt me many different ways if I don't read it. So please, if you can help it, don't mention it to me.

Apparently, a 'third party' made a copyright claim on my YouTube video "Buttons" because of the selected music. Razer/Keira (J&D)
6.) Harrison/Vasquez (AvP 2)

Three Ships I Liked, but Not Anymore:

7.) Janeway/Chakotay
8.) Kitana/Hitch
9.) Leona/Danny

Three Ships I Don’t Like:

10.) Razer/Rayn
11.) Vasquez/Drake
12.) Vasquez/Gorman

Two ships I’m curious about, but don’t ship

13.) RaHerz
14.) Daxter/Keira

1.) Why do you dislike #11 so much? [Vasquez/Drake]
It's canon, at least as far as the movie goes. But I just can't make myself like it. Obviously, Drake and Vasquez get along almost perfectly, but their onscreen dynamic is off. It probably isn't Mark's fault or even Jenette's - it might just be... bad writing?

2.) Who is someone you know that ships #13 [RaHerz]
Pick a name. No, seriously, pick one. Pretty much everybody ships it.

3.) What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3 (even if the show isn't on the air anymore)? [Ripley/Hicks]
Um, well, they just kind of get together.

4.) Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one. [Jerry/Leona]
Probably the currently-unwritten fic "Consequences of a Night Out". I won't go any farther than that... sorry.

5.) How long have you been following couple #6? [Harrison/Vasquez]
First, let me point out that it's nonexistent, stemming only out of Hudson's own insane jealousy. I came up with it when I decided that there would be a sequel to "Aliens: Solar Winds", thinking that it would make an interesting subplot.

6.) What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring? [Kitana/Hitch]
I don't know. I stopped writing the fic, I guess.

7.) Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4? [Hudson/Vasquez or Erol/Kitana]
Hudson/Vasquez. No competition there. I could rant for hours on why they work so WELL together, but if I did, I'd lose all my readers and... well, I don't know. They work well.

8.) You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12. [Razer/Rayn or Ripley/Clemens]
A lot of people like Razer/Rayn, so I won't be mean and make that one go away. Ripley/Clemens, however, makes no sense to me.

9.) What interests you about #14? [Daxter/Keira]
I have no idea - it just does.

10.) When did you stop liking #7? [Janeway/Chakotay]
I stopped watching Voyager.

11.) Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show? [Leona/Danny]
No - rather, it gave way to "Leona/Jerry". Yum.

12.) What's a song that reminds you of #2? [Hudson/Vasquez]
A lot of them. The very first song, however, was "What Is Love?" by Haddaway.

13.) Which of these ships do you love the most?
Hudson/Vasquez and Jerry/Leona. How I luffs them both. And oddly enough, for similar reasons.

14.) Which do you dislike the most?
Vasquez/Drake. MAKE IT STOP.

15.) If you could have any of these two pairings double date, who would it be? (even better if they're from different shows)
Jerry/Leona and Hudson/Vasquez. That would be hilarious, because in my canon they're all related except for Vasquez to the other three and Jerry to Leona or Vasquez. There would have to be a serious spacetimes distortion but... *plot bunnies*

16.) Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if you'd like. I haven't had much interest in the Jak fandom for some time now. I've been focused on Aliens/Predator and my original series instead. Man, my original series has taken a drastic turn into a darker tone...

Update? Yep. Soon? Probably not before October. Sorry, peeps.

I'm no BNF, so this probably means nobody cares one way or another. Well, it's a goal to shoot for, right? I won't pull a Nashi on you and not update for over a year (but I can understand writer's block, so that's not an insult).

Halcyon is discontinued unless somebody wants to pick it up for me or something. Norton has already blocked an intrusion attempt and deleted two malaicious programs (a Trojan and a worm trace).

My only other option was a complete reformat, but THAT wasn't really an option because: a) I can't seem to figure out how to reformat WinXP because I don't have a boot disk/floppy A drive to use; b) the CMD.EXE program might not work because the window opens while the standard OS is running; and c) I read that even when a computer reformats, all it does is overwrite information to make it LOOK like empty space, but it isn't. Code lines and registry links are still located, albeit scattered, in the root of the drive.

Resulting options: A) Magnetize the drive; B) Shred the drive.

Or boot from the D:\ recovery drive, but, being paranoid, I can't do THAT either.
Something terrible happened this week; I am unsure of when exactly. My best friend overdosed on Tylenol - a whole bottle of it. No one is exactly sure if she meant to do it or was attempting to commit suicide. She's in the local hospital right now and I am awaiting confirmation of whether or not visitors are allowed. There are rumors that she's in the psych ward; right now, the only confirmed rumor is that she's under Suicide Observation.

As far as I know, she's never done something like this before. She's already unstable, but she's my best friend - I can't help but worry.

I hope she's okay.

As a bit of a nod to her, I'm officially dedicating my OC, River, to her. Three years ago, she lost her adopted brother to a car accident involving a drunk driver. She misses him and becomes very depressed when the anniversary of his death comes around. He was well-loved, adored, and admired by the people of our community. He was seventeen, and his name was River. Only recently did I realize that I had unknowingly named my OC after him. I told her, and she was very pleased.

I'm glad, and I hope I can see her soon. If all goes as planned, she'll be released on Sunday.

----------------------------------

Current Parent OCs:
Note: If you have a definite interest, please sign up for one character only.
Hypothetical situation: your brother is a sheriff who regularly drives about 110 mph in his daily job. You have been dreamin all your life of riding low in a beautiful Corvette - preferably a Stingray, but anything similar will do. You get in. At about 70 mph, the wind gets warm around your hand as you stick it out the window. You hit the onramp at about 100 mph and coast at 85 to the turnoff to the gas station. You spend the rest of the night talking about it, talking to the car, and petting it affectionately.

Hypothetical situation checked as true.

Yep. Yesterday (wow, was it really? Yeah, it was) at about 11 'o clock at night, I was doing exactly that, alternating between chatting with my bro and talking about how glorious the Corvette was. There was so much power. You could feel it rumbling through your fingertips, feel its contained fury, and then lose all your breath as its power of acceleration pulls you back into cushy seats. I remember staring at the speedometer, hardly believing that it was a smooth ride and we were going 100 mph.

The thing hardly twitched at all.

It. Was. Effortless.

It was a 1996 shiny blue Corvette, about 500 hp with a white stripe down the middle. The paint was in near-perfect condition. I think it was a Grand Sport, but I can't be sure. It was so much fun. It was always one of my dreams to ride in a Corvette. I mean, they were one of the first things (besides the Lotus, Maserati, Lamborghini, and Ferarri cars located a floor above) at the local car show that I went to see. This thing was just gorgeous. It smelled good, too.

I kept petting it and telling it how if anyone hurt it, I would hurt them worse, and that I loved it. Like, a lot.

It was my brother's friend's car. He borrowed it for the weekend. Holy cow, this woman (former CIA) really trusted him.

$60,000 car starting cost. Now, it probably averages around $200,000. Only about six hudnred were ever made, and only two hundred are left. That beautiful blue car was one of them. It was totally worth the wait.

I'll post pictures on ~humanbeldot sometime soon, I promise.

I AM SO FREAKIN' HAPPY, PEEPS!

...And weirdly enough, the only thing I could think of when we hit 100 mph was how much it reminded me of Erol. It was really strange...

----------------------------------

Current Parent OCs:
Note: If you have a definite interest, please sign up for one character only.
When it's pouring down rain (SIDEWAYS) outside, I am happy because I fall asleep real fast to the sound of the rain. When it's ninety-two degrees outside and air conditioned inside, I sleep even better.

Happiness has many forms. One of which is weather.

Anyway, I recently updated ~humanbeldot and got that account into both *UnseenArtists and *iLovePhotographyClub. You can go look at those accounts if you like, or not. Your call.

Also, something that was brought to my attention by ~Sanzoneedsahug: apparently, people have been possibly getting wind of the plot of JakII: Renegade Alpha and perhaps copying it somewhat. Suddenly I'm noticing a lot of redheaded young KG women (or redheaded young women in general) who are drawn/written/etc. as being Erol's "one and only" love interest. This possibly includes the stories "Forbidden Love" and "My Immortal", both located on FanFiction.net. Maybe it's paranoia, but they only popped up after I posted some basics about the revamp. "Forbidden Love" is a bit close for comfort, but not too bad. However, "My Immortal" is eerily similar. Just thought I'd say that, and ask you guys to be my vigilantes for me.

I finished reading the book "Deep Storm" by Lincoln Child and would say that if you like thrillers/adventure/sci-fi books, you might want to look into it. It is quite compelling.

You know the book "Twilight" and its sequels "New Moon" and "Eclipse"? My friends think that I'm retarded for somewhat hating those books because it's "glorious literature/perfectly written/believable/OMGLIEKIT'SRELATABLE!!!!11!!!". I tried to explain to them that because of so many 'Sue stories I've read, I fear Young Adult literature. The only ones I read are the Warriors series and the Inheritance Cycle. They didn't get it, saying they didn't know what a 'Sue was/I should read it anyway because I need to "open my horizons"/the books I read suck. Look, reading literature that's well-written and relatable is one thing: reading a first-person POV story about a 'Sue falling in love with a sparkly vampire and constantly describing his perfection is just weird.

'Sue story usually includes: 1st POV, perfect female and/or male character(s), an unlikely/forbidden love, angsty romance, etc. There's plenty to go around on FanFiction.net; why read a thirty-four-year-old's fantasy, who even admitted that this... Edward Cullen was her idea of the perfect man, who is a freakin' sparkly vampire? Maybe I'm overreacting, but c'mon people. A sparkly vampire?

I read two pages and gave it back to the library.

For those of you who like it, take no offense, please. Please. I really don't want to die yet.

Anyway, forgive the rant. "lOnG hArD rOaD oF lOvE" was my MySpace background for some time, and it might still be if I haven't switched it. I'm really happy about how many views it's received, although I can't say I'm pleased about the responses (a.k.a. no responses except for a couple). But it's okay, really.

Updated information about "Parent OC"'s is below. Still no definite takers. Darn...

And check this deviation out. I mean, he's only the greatest racer that ever lived (let's forget Olduvai and his personality clone [and permanent loser] Olduvai II)! Anyway, he's complex, he's dark, he's light, he's balanced. You can do so much with his character, like I have. He's the most amazing video game guy I have ever seen. But if I jumped him and hugged him, he'd probably blow my brains out...

The Master Chief (Halo)

Cybernetically augmented. Exceptionally intelligent. Photographic memory. Incredible agility. A powerful bio-electronic suit. Whether it's a pair of Hunters or a horde of Flood, the Master Chief can do it all. 'Nuff said.

Kathryn Janeway (Star Trek: Voyager)

Janeway has the beauty and the brains all packed into a body of brawn. She is the perfect combination and could probably match Lara Croft on her adventures. Oh, sure, she comes off as sweet and feminine, but when the going gets tough (the macrovirus, the Kazon, the Krenim, etc.), she will kick you to the curb.

Jak (Jak and Daxter)

Lengthen his hair, darken his personality, skinny him up a bit, give him Reising's smooth voice and incredible powers, and you've got my version of just-out-of-prison Jak. Even without these tuneups, though, Jak is still an awesome character. I mean, how much cooler can you get from dimensional hopping, blinding magnetic fields, and an I'm-going-to-kill-you-now personality? ...don't ask about those first two...

Jeanette Vasquez

The Smart Gun-wielding, tough-as-nails USC Marine is nothing short of awesome. Heck, she bleeds the awesomness. Too bad she died with Gorman, though; she and Hudson would have gone great together...

Grievous (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith)

Grievous, despite his limited screen time, spiced up an already awesome film and pumped it to the max. He could have been rounded out a bit more (uh-oh... drat those plot bunnies!), but his lightsaber skills coupled with his strangely amazing agility made him a pretty cool creature to watch. No doubt ILM had fun animating him.

Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voyager)

Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix-01, is amazing and worthy of mention. She's half-Borg, possesses innate intelligence, and contains the knowledge of a thousand-and-one species. She is intimidated only by Species 8472. She and the Doctor, or even she and Harry...

Whoever said that the Nintendo 64 is a dead-and-gone console is wrong. Yeah, so it seems like a piece of doo-doo next to a powerhouse like the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360 or even the Wii. But it's the simplicity, bright primary colors, and stretched-taut 12-bit bitmaps that makes it so... wonderful.

Why am I mentioning this? Well, last Saturday, I managed to acquire an N64 that is still in brilliant condition, hardly used. It doesn't have an OS, unlike my PS2, and it uses cartridges, a laughable quality next to my PS2. It also uses a simple connection: a screw-in cable that connects where your antenna or cable line would connect to your TV. And I got a few awesome games with it, including Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, three Mario games, Banjo-Kazooie (that. game. is. FUN!!!!), and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. My dad used to invite my mom over to his place before they got married, and he used to sit and play his NES for six hours - usually Mario or Zelda.

Ahhhh, simplicity. (ding, ding. Think the Philips commercials...) I still adore my PS2 (I beat Tomb Raider Anniversary on Sunday!), but I really love my N64, too. I promised myself that one day, I will own every major console ever made, from the Magnavox Odyssey to the Atari 7800 to the PlayStation 3 (or 4, by then).

I will own a PSP one day, I swear on it!
I just want to know one thing: why? Why do these things happen to me, especially this week and last week?

For example: I wrote a beautiful, long, pretty much perfect research paper that had more than the minimum requirements of works cited and such. I turned it in, thinking, 'oh wow, this should be my best grade on a paper'. I get it back.

I got a zero.

Why? Because in some tiny text stuffed amongst some other text, it said, 'minimum three sources, different media'. I did mine on Bigfoot, and didn't have time to find sources on anything other than the Internet. But I spent a lot of time in one night on this paper. At one point, I mentioned the Patterson film, saying quote, 'Suddenly, [Patterson and Gimlin] sighted something and were able to take footage of a female Bigfoot with a sixteen-millimeter camera'. The guy who graded it wrote in the margin, 'Bigfoot had the camera?' He was being sarcastic; he knew better. I think that now he's got a personal vendetta against me, even though he loves my writing.

And in my Algebra class... I don't care if the teacher truly believes he's in a university or something, don't act like it all the time! We did a pair of problem sets, turned them in to a sub... the sub loses them... the teacher asks us to do it again... we turn it in... WE GET HALF CREDIT. For something that wasn't even our fault!

This is ridiculous... all week, I've been surrounded by stupidity from others who just refuse to listen to me, saying that because I'm young, 'your opinions aren't well-grounded by fact and/or experience'. Well, sorry if I was raised around intelligent adults and probably know more than you, knothead (excuse the euphemism).

----------------------------------

JakII: Renegade -Teaser- (complete)
JakII: Renegade Poster (concept, no lineart)
Jak3: Redux Poster (none)

(^ = WIP, * = complete)

Affection (lineart and colors, no background)
Brittle
Crucible
Desire
Emotion (lineart complete, no color)
Foreboding
Grace
Hope
Introspection
Jealousy
Kalon
Leman
Malapert
Nearly
Obfuscate
Praxis
Quiet
Resilience
Shatter
Truth
Understand
Vice
Wieldless
Xanthous
Yearn
Zelotypia

Current clubs:

I'm sure plenty of people have "read" it, but nobody has reviewed it yet. It makes me grouchy - considering that this is going to be about as long as Demyrie's JAM and twice as involved. Read it, or... =>

I currently have three stories going, not including my series of original novels:

JakII: Renegade Alpha - revamped and rewritten, my own personal interpretation and expansion of the original game.
Halcyon - pertaining to events prior to The Precursor Legacy, and linked carefully to Renegade Alpha.
Shut Up and Drive - see FF.Net profile for information.

Upcoming:
Jak3: Renegade Redux
JakIV: Renegade Crucible

So don't ever wonder why I don't update them very often... I DO need reviews for "JakII", however, if at all possible.

View the description for "JakII: Renegade -Teaser A-" for additional information for upcoming posters. I'm afraid my artisitic creativity has gotten away with me again, and I have more ideas for the posters now.

Also one other note: Does anyone with a YouTube profile have the song "Love Song Requiem" by The Age of Information (a.k.a. Trading Yesterday)? Just out of curiousity, because I believe it's a really fitting song for the Erol/Kitana pairing early on. It's really beautiful, rather angsty, and at the same time, sadly hopeful.

It fits especially well, since Erol means "to wander".

----------------------------------

JakII: Renegade -Teaser A- "Jak" (complete)
JakII: Renegade -Teaser B- "Erol" (concept, no lineart)
JakII: Renegade -Teaser C- "Undecided" (concept, no lineart)
JakII: Renegade Poster (concept, no lineart)
Jak3: Redux Poster (none)

(^ = WIP, * = complete)

Affection (lineart and colors, no background) (drabble complete)
Brittle (drabble complete)
Crucible (drabble half-finished)
Desire (drabble complete)
Emotion
Foreboding
Grace
Hope
Introspection
Jealousy
Kalon
Leman
Malapert
Nearly
Obfuscate
Praxis
Quiet
Resilience
Shatter
Truth
Understand
Vice
Wieldless
Xanthous
Yearn
Zelotypia

Now that I've gotten a high-speed Internet connection, I think I'll be able to update pretty soon (I mean in terms of stories). Man, 500+ kbps is lightning fast compared to the 186 kbps of my phone. I continue to be amazed!

Anyway, you can expect some loose sketches pretty soon - tonight, in fact. I have a loose conceptual sketch of Reising that I want to post, along with a few other pictures that I sketched when I was bored. I think the newest Jak sketch turned out pretty good, actually.

Anyway, enjoy.
I'm sure just about everyone remembers my coughcough partially failed, uber-long fic JakII: Renegade. It's the same one that I drew the recent poster for.

Anyway... some of you, in your perusing of my little batch of modest fics, may have noticed that I removed J2. That's because I am completely and totally overhauling it and making it more M-rated. For example, the first couple of chapters are really quite messy, and you are introduced to an OC of mine, Matrika.

Note the following changes when I do re-upload the story:
Gore. A lot more of it. This includes exploding bodies, intestines, etc. I should not have watched Aline yesterday...
Darker. The plotline is much darker than previously, less humor and romance-like elements.
Romance. I completely overhauled Erol and Kitana's relationship. I won't give too much away; still, I will tell you that there's a fight scene between them (let's just say that she gets a little upset, he retaliates verbally, and she decks him. Oh joy).
Sex. Yes, there's a bit more of an emphasis on sexual tension and other elements in this version. This time, the story is going to earn its M-rating.
Jak. How could I have overlooked Jak almost completely in the original version? Now, he's got more focus, turning up in the first paragraph of the second chapter and even harboring an unknown entity (one of these days I am going to publish my Eco Theory, complete with pictures.
Halcyon. This fic ties directly with my other, somewhat nicer fic, Halcyon on FanFiction.net, in terms of pretty much everything -- the seven people introduced in the first chapter, the Eco Theory, etc.

So there you have it. If anyone would like to discuss possible changes, please inform me via a note. It doesn't help that I am watching a lot of gory movies and reading the lovely Nashi's Captive Voice on top of writing the story.

Also: about the OTP 26 Art Challenge, many of the words below can't be found in a contemproary dictionary. If you feel the need to change the words because they "don't fit", be sure to double-check the meaning before you do so. For example, Sanzo inquired about the word "kalon". It means "beauty that is more than skin deep". Here's a link that will give you all the definitions: [link]

----------------------

Photography account: ~humanbeldot

JakII: Renegade -Teaser- (complete)
JakII: Renegade Poster (concept, no lineart)
Jak3: Redux Poster (concept, no lineart)

(^ = WIP, * = complete)

Affection (lineart and colors, no background)
Brittle
Crucible
Desire
Emotion
Foreboding
Grace
Hope
Introspection
Jealousy
Kalon
Leman
Malapert
Nearly
Obfuscate
Praxis
Quiet
Resilience
Shatter
Truth
Understand
Vice
Wieldless
Xanthous
Yearn
Zelotypia

When I first created an original character for Jak and Daxter (Dak, as some of you remember), she scored 115 on the Mary Sue Litmus Test, linked below. When I first created Kitana, then Ashton, she scored pretty darn high.

Now, after overhauling and revamping Kitana's character for a re-released version of JakII: Renegade Alpha, she scores a 12. 0-16 is considered not very Sue-ish at all, plus I used about four of the "De-Suifiers" at the end (too bad none of them said "plump, not anorexic/absurdly skinny like the canon females/males!!!!!!), so she's actually NOT a Sue anymore.

To say the least, I am very pleased.

Would you like to test out your own original characters? Simply clicked the following link and be sure to read the instructions carefully; misreading the instructions can result in absurdly high scores!

The Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test

---------------------------

Photography account: ~humanbeldot

JakII: Renegade -Teaser- (complete)
JakII: Renegade Poster (concept, no lineart)
Jak3: Redux Poster (concept, no lineart)

(^ = WIP, * = complete)

Affection^
Brittle
Crucible
Desire
Emotion
Foreboding
Grace
Hope
Introspection
Jealousy
Kalon
Leman
Malapert
Nearly
Obfuscate
Praxis
Quiet
Resilience
Shatter
Truth
Understand
Vice
Wieldless
Xanthous
Yearn
Zelotypia

I'd like to see CK do this one. hinthint

Six Ships I Love:

1.) Erol/Kitana
2.) Torn/Ashelin
3.) Janeway/Chakotay (ST:VOY)
4.) Razer/Jak (bad self!!!! but it works)
5.) Jak/Rayn
6.) Onin/Pale Grace (canon/OC, yesh eet ees)

Three Ships I Liked, but Not Anymore:

7.) Razer/Keira
8.) Razer/Rayn
9.) Chief/Cortana

Three Ships I Don’t Like:

10.) Razer/Rayn
11.) Chakotay/Seven
12.) Jak/Ashelin

Two Ships I’m Curious About, but Don’t ACTUALLY Ship (and prolly neva will)

13.) RaHerz (what can I say, it's addicting)
14.) Razer/Flint (Flint being my uber-gay OC, I luffs him)

1.) Why do you dislike #11 so much? [Cahotay/Seven]
Let's just say that it sort of just freakin' turned up in the last three episodes and it has no real basis except that Seven was trying to become more "humanlike". I just absolutely hate that pairing. With a vengeance.

2.) Who is someone you know that ships #13 [RaHerz]
Pick a name. No, seriously, pick one. Pretty much everybody ships it.

3.) What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3 (even if the show isn't on the air anymore)? [J/C]
If Chakotay would dump Seven of Nine. I was so utterly confused by that pairing that I wanted to stop watching the show. But really, there was plenty of basis during the first five seasons that I'm surprised nobody was COMPLETELY OUTRAGED when it didn't go through.

4.) Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one. [Erol/Kitana]
My OTP. Well... probably the entrie trilogy arc that I am attempting to write (stupid writers' block is stopping all current progress, as well as frustration at how it's turing out), but just one? Probably JakII: Renegade.

5.) How long have you been following couple #6? [Onin/Pale Grace]
Um, well... since this week, actually. No, seriously, only this week. Pale Grace is actually a pretty old character, but he had a completely different backstory than he does now. When you think about it, though, he works really well. He's not a Stu, I'm making sure of that this time. I don't want another Kitana-issue.

6.) What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring? [Razer/Rayn]
I became convinced that Razer was gay. Thanks, Nashi.

7.) Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4? [Torn/Ashelin or Razer/Jak]
Razer/Jak. It's just so much fun. You see, I have this amusing plot device where, if Jak gets really drunk, falls really hard asleep (and sleepwalks, yes), or gets smacked in a certain spot on the head, he gets amnesia and becomes uber-gay. Let's just say that once Razer figured this out, Jak had to find a way to avoid him when he goes back to Kras City for a job. Because it's Erol who first figures this out, back in prison, and as he says in Kras City Vice, he doesn't want to be responsible for Jak's first butt-rape experience. But I'm sure Raz will find a way.

8.) You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12. [Razer/Rayn or Jak/Ashelin]
A lot of people like Razer/Rayn, so I won't be mean and make that one go away. But Jak and Ashelin... I'm sorry folks, but Jak/Keira works better than that. And that's saying something.

9.) What interests you about #14? [Razer/Flint]
Because Flint is my gay OC (my ONLY gay OC) and Razer is gay. It never actually happens, at least not yet, but it's an interesting concept. I mean, in my universe, Flint begins by being infatuated with our favorite psychotic commander-then-lieutenant-commander. So when he loses interest, what better way to ahemfeel itcoughcough than to hit on the man's brother? Heheh...

10.) When did you stop liking #7? [Razer/Keira]
Full blame on Nashi for this one, too.

11.) Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show? [Chief/Cortana]
No, it just made me less inclined to play Halo. Oddly enough.

12.) What's a song that reminds you of #5? [Jak/Rayn]
There are actually a couple, but I'll pick one: "Run to You" by Bryan Adams. It's what I used for my YouTube vid, after all. But there's also "The Diary of Jane" (thanks, Meowen! )

13.) Which of these ships do you love the most?
It's a tie between Erol/Kitana and Onin/Pale Grace. Pale Grace is currently my favorite OC next to River and Cedar (blue...

I have two new photographs up on ~humanbeldot and would really appreciate it if y'all went and looked. I take my photography very seriously, after all. Come on, will you, please?

Okay, about my traditional artwork... DARN THE SCANNER. I am currently swamped in homework and have been unable to do anything but worry about an essay and a pair of presentations for tomorrow. But hopefully this weekend I'll get around to it. I am very stressed and don't sleep well at night. Summer is coming very slowly, and I eagerly await it with open arms.

Fanfics update: yes, I DID update JakII, but I am having issues with writers' block. To aid in easing it, I am currently working on a long and involved Onin-backstory fic that will hopefully be well-received. It involves my new -- and previously unheard-of -- OC, a warrior from the Deeplands named Pale Grace. The fic currently has no title and takes places five hundred years before TPL. Any suggestions for a title would be great. If you'd like to discuss the fic at all, feel free to note me.

Drabbles: I also have a collection of drabble ideas ranging from fanfic to real-life. I could post them here (or on LJ, whenever I figure out how) if anyone's interested. The real-life ones would be my true feelings about people you probably don't know (although miss evanescentillusion will know them quite well).

Okay, now, back to work...

Because I am kind of 'out of it' nowadays when it comes to art, mainly because I have this horrible artists' block, I have decided to create my own art challenge. If you like, you too can perform this challenge.

Here are the guidelines:

Choose your OTP (One True Pairing) and draw twenty-six pictures whose titles each begin with one letter of the alphabet, and their content have to reflect the chosen word. It's a little difficult for me, choosing content, but it doesn't always have to include both people. It can have one or the other, only in a situtation brought on by their lover.

My chosen OTP and words are below. It might be easiest to use the words I have already chosen, but if you like, you can use words of your own. Preferably, none of the words should be in a different language, but if you absolutely can't help it, go ahead.

Extra Challenge! - No doubt some of the word below are words you've never seen before. I challenge you to find the definition and tell me what it is. You may be surprised at just how relevant they are to my/your OTP!

OTP: Erol/Kitana (I have two OTP's, but I'm choosing the more dramatic one)
Word Selections: You have to remember that their relationship is a long and difficult road with a lot of pain along the way before everything ends on a good note. Much of this occurs in JakII: Renegade Alpha, but some occurs in Jak3: Renegade Redux and JakIV: Renegade Crucible.

And there you have it.

Also, I will probably have a photography account. It will likely be called "humanbeldot" (my self-chosen, universal Internet name). I'll tell you when I have it up.

Now, to get to work on my art challenge, and I can't wait to see yours!

I am completely stunned at how many people have simply dropped off the map lately, or at least haven't spoken to me at all lately. Like Sanzo, and MissNeko, and others, too. It makes me feel very lonely...

If anyone's still alive, please tell me. I'd like to hear from you's.

Just about everyone has heard of the Columbine shooting back in '99. What I didn't know about was that the first student to be shot and killed was Rachel Joy Scott, seventeen. Apparently, she was a firm believer and an all-around wonderful person.

Why do I bring her up?

Because today, I witnessed a pair of assemblies at the local high school that dealt with Rachel's Challenge, something that Rachel mentioned and wrote about in essays and journals. She said that if everyone reached out with kindness and compassion to those around them, the world would be changed. She also knew that she'd die young and change the world.

She was right.

But what she said and did lives on. At the first assembly, I was so moved by her story -- it reminded me that I had let go of my dreams and become, to be blunt, quite selfish in my endeavors -- that I was on the verge of tears. I am now a part of Friends of Rachel (FOR) and am proud of it.

Please, I encourage you... if you haven't considered Rachel's Challenge before, I beg you to do so. It has me thinking in a whole new perspective now, and I hope that maybe I can do a little to help those around me. I know what it's like to be ignored, put down, pushed around, or looked down upon. Maybe I can make those people who are going through that now feel better just by saying "hi". Because a simple "hi" has proven to do a lot.

It was a great year for the gaming and film industry; all sorts of next-gen games and consoles released -- Heavenly Sword, Halo 3, Ratchet & Clank Future, etc -- and some really good movies -- Beowulf, Spider-man 3, Ratatouille, etc. Yeah, and let's not forget that it was the Year of the Wii and the PlayStation 3 while the Xbox 360 is beginning to look good only for gamers who are completely against Nintendo and Sony. No offense, the Xbox is cool, but the PS3 and the PC are more powerful systems for gaming.

But was it a Year of Hell for me? Yeah, actually. Bad year at school, of course, and a bad December to post fanfiction, apparently. Of course, we moved, I got braces, and I now have the worst writers'/artists' block ever. I have ideas for my JakII poster, anyway, but don't expect it anytime soon.

At least I got to try cranberry-apple sparkling cider on New Year's Eve. It tasted a little funky, but it satisfied the palette.

And for you people who have read my stuff on FF.net, I apologize for the long waits in betweeen updates. I am currently occupied, once more, with my novel, and it's still in the works. But it would really make me feel better if somebody would please read the newest chapters. They are more like in-betweeners, but they are still worth the read. One of these days, I'll post some better chapters.

Which reminds me, Jackie, if you're reading this... I'm about ten chapters away from the one which has to do with your pic. I have a creative situation in mind once I get around my horrid writers' block. And does anyone notice the (completely unintentional) resemblance to the Moulin Rouge! film in my fic? I never intended to do that, but apparently, what I intend doesn't exactly matter...

Well, it's a new year, and I hope it's better than 2007. Don't get me wrong, 2007 was one of the gaming industries's best years since the release of the Xbox and Halo. But if what I've seen of the new Tomb Raider game coming out sometime this year is any indication, it's that the game is never over.

Just to let you "regular" readers know, I am going to change my FanFiction.net name to "humanbeldot", which is also my YouTube and MySpace name. If I could change the name of THIS account, I would do so.

It's mainly because the all-capital letters are beginning to grate on my nerves, and besides, humanbeldot is more suiting. "Beldot" was the name of a dog we used to have, and my dad always said that I acted just like her (she had a talk-talk-talk attitude), so now my nickname is human-Beldot (compound: humanbeldot).

So don't be surprised if you receive notices saying "humanbeldot has submitted a new story" blah, blah, blah, because it's the same person.

I am so happy that 2007 is almost over. This has been a real sucky year for me and pretty much everybody else I know... 2008 will be a good year! I hope... And at least I got two new games to keep me occupied, Final Fantasy X and Ratchet: Deadlocked. Now I have all four R&C games for the PS2, like with J&D. Did anybody notice that both series follow the same basic premise? Each being a little more mature than the one before it, and the fourth (JakX/Ratchet: Deadlocked) involving a "do-or-die" situtation that they can't hope to escape? Hmm...

Does anybody have a PS3? Because if you do, I want to know what you think of these games: Assassin's Creed, Ratchet & Clank Future, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Even if you don't have a PS3, tell me what you've heard. I am saving to buy the most expensive PS3 (the one with the backwards compatibility, three USB ports, etc.), and I want to know if those games are worth it.

Is anybody ready to see the new Aliens versus Predator movie? I want to see it on opening day, being an Aliens/Predator fan since I saw the Aliens movie at... like, three. I am totally serious.

My year's been sucky, but... how has your year been? I want to know! And whatever holiday you celebrate... Happy Hankwanchristmatuesday! Or something like that...
